Awful hotel. The front desk employees are incompetent. The entire 8th floor smelled of mold. Hallways are very dark with low ceilings. The rooms have popcorn ceilings, textured walls, old furniture, and are dingy. The wall air unit literally sounds like a train in the room. Impossible to sleep. Rooms were clean but that's about the only thing good that can been days about this hotel! Find another place to stay when you visit Waco. The bed pillows are tiny and flat - worthless. The toilet seat was almost broken loose and it pinched a blood blister on my leg when I sat down and almost slid onto the floor. And at over $160 a night for a room they don't even guarantee you a parking spot! They share their tiny lot with the Convention Center and you are out of luck if they are having an event. And the arrogant jerk working the front desk told us we could park across the street or wait until after 8pm when the graduation would be over. Shame on you Hilton!!! Y'all have a lot to improve at this location....and you should start with a front desk guy that actually has customer service training. read more

If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. We booked through Expedia and paid in full. When we got to the hotel they asked for a credit/debit card to have on file for incidentals which we had no problem with. A week later I checked our credit card statement and found a $100 charge to the hotel. When I called and asked why I was told we were charged for smoking in our room. I stated that both my husband and myself are non smokers and that would be impossible. I was then asked if it was for MARIJUANA where they proceed to ask if we were marijuana smokers. I was floored because we are absolutely not. They told me they manager would call me back later that day to discuss it. When I spoke with Justin he basically said he would refund us on "good faith" that we weren't lying. I told him how offended I was that we were accused of doing drugs and was met with attitude and little apology. Beware if you stay here. You might be accused of doing drugs and met with attitude/little apology at the same time. read more

The Hilton Waco just switched their menu to predominantly Italian. Ate there today at lunch and it was good. If you like Italian, it is worth a try! They serve rosemary bread that tasted freshly baked. Hummus with sun dried tomatoes as appetizer. Had capellini d'angelo as main dish. Very good! read more

I have never really been a huge fan of Hilton hotels and avoid them like the plague, There was an issue with my first room brought it to the attention of the staff and let me just say the young lady at the front desk, Alex didn't just treat me like a guest she treated me as if I was the freaking president, she moved me to a new room with an amazing view on the top floor and made my stay there and incredible one just because of her I will be back there every time my girlfriend and I visit thank you so much for restoring my faith in the Hilton and being a damn rockstar at your job read more

Not clean. Paper thin walls. You can hear EVERYTHING from rooms around you. Toilets are disgusting....dusty rooms...cracks in ceiling, stains in carpet...I could go on and on. This is maybe a $49.99 dollar a night type of room. Surly not worth over $50 bucks for what you have to put up with. read more

We stayed for 1 night. Came for Magnolia farms. This hotel is older with popcorn ceilings. The bed was lumy & pillows were paper thin. They have not upgrade the bedding. The pictures are not up to date. It says they have a cafe with a picture of a Starbucks sign on the wall. The cafe is actually the bar. No Starbucks or deli/pastrys. The photos also show weights in the fitness center. There were none. The hotel said all room were renovated, but we couldn't tell that. The bathroom is very small, the door almost touches the potty. The pool was renovated & its a salt water. My son did enjoy pool. The hotel is not horrible, but not worth $210 a night. We just expected more. The front desk agent were very nice & helpful with eating out ideas. The park with suspension bridge & long horn statutes across street with food trucks & other restaurants walking distance. read more

Overall Hotel was clean and staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good. However they seem like they may be a little bit short-staffed because cleanup of the rooms typically was not done till after 4 o'clock. Disappointed in this Hilton. Very old and in desperate need of an update/renovation. Rooms were musty and lacked any tasteful decor. Shower was tiny and drain backed up (they did fix the drain). Walls were paper thin. Towels were old and super thin. Ac unit was so loud, woke me up overnight. Bed was comfy enough but this room was just not acceptable for the Hilton name. More like a 2 star hotel. Our stay at a Hilton double tree was so much better/nicer. Also one guy at the front desk staff was very defensive and unhelpful. The lady who checked us in was very nice though. This was the hotel we stayed in for my birthday (visiting Magnolia) so I was not pleased. read more

I stayed in Waco to attend a wedding in Crawford. To begin with, this is not an area i would have chosen for a vacation otherwise. Given the circumstances i think three stars is a decent rating because it may be necessary to adjust your expectations if you are used to the accommodations available in larger metropolitan areas. My stay was in early June 2012 and i shared a room with my two grandkids while their parents were in the room across the hall. Upon check-in we were told there were no rooms with two beds available so we took the single king bed with the promise of a roll-away. Unhappily, we had to request the roll-away twice before it was delived. We were out of the room when it came and it was left in the most akward place possible, which meant we had to rearrange the furniture ourselves. Most surprisingly, the bed was not made. Instead, the linens were sloppily folded on top of the bed, which meant we had to make the bed ourselves, too. In the end, the roll-away mattress was so lumpy, hard, and misshapen that my grandson could not sleep on it. So, we had to sleep three-to-a-bed for two nights. The room was crowded with the unuseable roll-away so we requested to have removed. However, it took them until the next evening to get it. On the plus side, we received one night free to compensate for not receiving the room type we requested when making the reservations and for the roll-away debacle. As an aside, both of the rooms we had were billed as having corner views. It was true that there were expansive windows which met at the corner with no wall to obstruct the view. But, there were heavy, unmoveable draperies that obscured the corner view completely and took off about 20% of the view on either end. If you are considering paying a premium for this room type, don't. Overall, the hotel offered what you would typically expect from an average hotel in a non-tourist area with few business travelers. I would give it a grade of C+. read more

Upon arrival at a little after 4 PM on a Monday, I observed breakfast dishes stacked in the hallway outside of our room on the Executive floor. I called the front desk to advise them of the mess and the clerk stated they would move them immediately. We went out and upon our return after 10 PM, the dishes were still there. I called again and was told the same. The next morning at about 7:30 AM, I heard the dishes being retrieved, only to find them stacked next to the elevator at 8 AM. As a long standing Diamond member, I expect better from Hilton staff. I also expected the Executive Floor room to be in better shape, as it showed its age. read more

I had encountered a problem with one of their staff but was taken cared of by Manager Jennifer. She will make you feel important, she won my business. Hilton is close to Dr Pepper, Baylor, Spice market and Magnolia store/restaurant. The breakfast buffet was great/clean. In-house restaurant was reasonably priced and tasty. Last year I was in this same hotel with a not so good encounter, this year was a much better experience, hence the 5 stars. I am coming back to this hotel. read more

I was extremely disappointed that the Hilton Waco was overbooked on my trip for a conference. My coworker and I specifically chose the hotel to be close to the convention center. When we found out through other coworkers that conference that the hotel might be overbooked (did not hear this directly through the Hilton), I specifically called the hotel the day before our trip to confirm our reservation (which they did - they guaranteed a room). Further, the day of our reservation, we specifically arrived several hours prior to check-in to guarantee the reservation. The manager did not care that I had been promised the reservation and that I had called the previous day. We did everything we were supposed to to ensure we received our room (after not even hearing from the hotel that they were overbooked), and were turned away. Hilton: please do not overbook your hotel - it causes a lot of inconvenience and really causes a bad reputation. I will not make any reservations for a Hilton in the future because of this experience. read more

The only reason I gave this hotel the second star was because of the extremely comfortable bed and the convenience to the convention center. I have no idea how this hotel is able to charge $159.00/night. It's ludacris - if I had any idea of what I was getting myself into I would have stayed at a Motel 6 for a better experience. Upon arrival there was no clear indication of where the front door is and when you walk into either door you have to walk around to find the front desk. When we checked in we asked if the room had a refrigerator and we were told that it did. However, it does not so we went back downstairs (because no one will answer the phone when you call the front desk) and we asked for a fridge. We were told someone would be upstairs with a fridge in 10 minutes. No one came. We went back downstairs and we were told "oops we are actually out of fridges." The next night we wanted to stay in a buy a movie. We quickly realize this hotel does not offer movie channels. What? For 159/night? So we go back downstairs to verify and we were told "no, we don't have those." She suggests we go to the bar across the street. However, my husband is a recovering alcoholic. So thanks for the suggestion, but no. The next morning we wake up to the receipt shoved under our door. We check the bill and find that our room was charge almost $63.00 from the restaurant. We go downstairs and the woman at the front desk seems to not believe us when we explain to her that we had not eaten at the restaurant at all during our stay. For a hotel that charges this much per night I was not a "valued guest" - I was money per night. I will spread the word about this hotel and will never stay at a Hilton again. read more

I've stayed in Hilton properties all over the map and this one has a left a lot to be desired. For starters the birds are disgusting and you cannot make it into the front door without stepping on crickets and/or bird crap. Secondly, the AC units in the room sound like they run on a gas motor and the toilets are so loud it's guaranteed to wake up your neighbor. Secondly, as a gold/diamond member they make you eat breakfast in this small room on the top floor with no option to upgrade for the normal breakfast downstairs. Also, the front desk hospitality can be hit or miss depending who happens to be clocked in when you need some assistance. Lastly, TV's get a horrible picture in the room (no HD). The only reason I am giving this place two stars is due to its location across the street to several decent restaurants (Crickets has a good beer selection and the Thai place has great spicy Pad Thai) and also because their happy hour of $2 20 oz. drafts and the friendly bartender Coco (who should probably be running the place). Better option in Waco for Hilton property is probably the Homewood Suites. read more

When we first checked there was an older woman that helped who was not very friendly and a little short. I then went to my room and set my bags down. The room smelled horrible, like a wet dog. I was not impressed. I was forced to leave Residence Inn(Great Hotel) that morning because my reservation ended which is why I was at the Hilton. This smell was probably unique to my room but I knew there were better hotels at comparable rates, so I left. The room also seemed small and very dark. They did allow me to leave without charging me, although once again the same lady was short and unhappy I was making her do something else. I went a block away to the Indigo Hotel which was much better. I would recommend Hilton Hotel if your in a pinch and other hotels are full, but for the price there is better. read more

Stayed there June 28-July 2, 2015. I have stayed here everytime I visit Waco for work. The room was nice with a comfy bed. The AC worked fine, but on the noisy side. The gym is nice and they provide headphones to use while on the treadmill, clean towels to dry off and bottle so water in a small fridge. I used the gym 4 times on this trip. The breakfast buffet is nothing special,but the gentleman servicing me was polite and made sure my coffee was refilled. I used the dry cleaning and it was reasonably priced. Dropped it off in the morning and it was ready before 5pm the same day...great service. I ate dinner at the bar the first night and the food was good...I had Caesar salad which was good, crab cakes which were meh...burnt on the outside, the hamburger was good and had a couple of Stella Artois. The server was nice and made sure my plates were picked up and water filled. I also had room service for breakfast...the food was much better than the buffet. I was a little disappointed that there was only a cup of coffee and not a pot. When it's early in the morning I want more than one cup of coffee. I have stayed at many Hilton properties and this was the first time I did not get a pot of coffee with my in room dining. There are some negatives, but overall I will stay here when in Waco. Last gripe would be to clean all the bird poop on the sidewalk. Under every tree there are so many droppings...you take your risk walking under those trees. If you are not a Hilton Honor member, sign up so you can at least get free wifi. read more

I checked into my room and it had a foul musty/moldy smell and the A/C did not operate correctly the room was too cramped and outdated compared to other local hotels, not what I expected from a Hilton hotel. I immediately went down stairs to ask to check out of my room, and ensure that I would not be charged and the desk clerk had an attitude and went and asked the manager if I could check out without being charged. Long story short I was able to check out with no charge but as the manager of a Hilton I think I would have wanted to speak to the customer to see why or what the issue was. I highly recommend staying at the Residence inn by Marriott or the Indigo Hotel. DONT STAY AT THE HILTON WACO. read more

Stayed here for 2 weeks while on a business trip . The first week I spent a lot of time downstairs in their lobby/business area working on our business. I also spent a lot of time in their restaurant. During my stay, the staff was extremely friendly and courteous . I actually arrived a day after my husband did and wanted to surprise him for his birthday. One of the ladies at the front desk actually took her time to bring up the balloons I had bought and was so happy to help me decorate my husband's room. The restaurant staff was extremely nice and welcoming as well. The rooms were nice, i would just suggest that the fridge cabinet should have a different place. It is located very close to the entrance of the door and next to the bathroom entrance, so having to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and not having any light on is very dangerous . The only reason I ended up giving 4 stars is because , although the cleaning staff was nice I really feel their work wasn't up to par. Several days I wanted to come up to my room to take a break from my work and even at 1 pm my room hadn't been cleaned. One day I had to ask the manager to have them clean my room so I can go and rest, and an hour later it still hadn't been cleaned. In addition, there was a day that our towels had not been replaced and I had to call downstairs for them to bring towels. P.S. If you have a day you want some dessert, I highly recommend you order their housemade chocolate chip cookies with milk..although I believe it should be cheaper...OMG was it delicious ...soft cookies with cold milk...what a great combination! read more

Room wasn't ready when we arrived at 2:00pm. we were told it wasn't cleaned yet, when we asked when it would be ready, they said the ac wasn't working. we had to down grade. In the room, the sink drained slowly, the toilet didn't flush properly and the towel rack was loose. The WiFi in the didn't work. Executive floor lounge had rotten fruit setting out. It was poorly stocked and the coffee machine was out of order. The manager was rude at check out and didn't seem to care. I will never stay at this hotel again! read more

My experience at the Waco Hilton this week 9/26-29/17 was been horrible. I canceled the second night of my reservation, because both rooms I tried the first night were terribly smelly, stuffy and I was unable to rest. I made my initial reservation with my debit card, but decided to pay with my credit card once I arrived. Authorization for two nights was posted on both cards!!! I was told it would be possibly up to 10 days before my funds would be released and nothing could be done by them to remedy the situation. After contacting the Hilton corporate office, I did get assistance from the Waco Hilton General Manager with removing the charges. Last but not least, there is a shoe shine area near the elevator with the decor of a black man on it with a serving tray in his hand. I thought immediately of the Samuel L. Jackson character in the movie DJango Unchained. It's the year 2017. My experience in all the years as a Hilton Honors member, has never been this unpleasant and inconvenient. read more
