Outdated hotel. Internet has been the worst ever and we've stayed here before and gave it another try. No room service but they have a bar. No food service other than breakfast. The rooms have a mini fridge but no microwave. Pool is not heated, doesn't really affect our stay just FYI‍. The staff is the only saving grace here they all are nice and friendly. On our floor it reeked of marijuana, the staff tried to fix the issue but the solution was to overload the floor with a chemical floral smell it flooded our room and my son had trouble breathing. Thanks to Lindsey H. I knew what to ask for when I got to this hotel. A younger desk person made sure I had a room that met my needs. I wanted an odd numbered room so I have a river/park view and be above the 3rd floor. Which I got. Room 507. The room was nice and the view was great. Nothing crazy special about the room, but I did like the coffee cups. The clock in my room never had the right time my whole stay, but who cares we all have cell phones. There is a little bar downstairs and the bartenders are so nice. I got my drinks and had them out by the pool area. The weather was great and I didn't want to be inside. I ate in the restaurant once, the bar once and ordered out by the pool once. The food was really good. The service was excellent. The pool area has a lovely garden and a covered area where you can sit and enjoy the fountains/ponds and nice landscaping. The pool was not heated when I was here so I didn't go in, but it didn't seem to stop most people. Now, I asked about the 3rd floor and told them about the reviews of it. They said, that the 3rd floor is no longer a smoking floor and the rooms have been completely redone. So hopefully that problem is solved. The birds. Yes, the Gackles. I actually found them fun. They are loud, but didn't bother me. The look like smaller iridescent crows. They can mimic human voice cadence so they put on quite a show. Clean and rooms are decent. It's downtown and right by the buses to the stadium so good for a game. This is where Baylor stays the night before their football games. It is one of the smallest Hilton's I've seen. Reminds me more of a Hilton Garden Inn. Restaurant is really small but food is solid. Not bad - there are a couple of new hotels in Waco that look really nice though. Parking on a game night is not fun. They let me park in the entry area which was nice of them. They seem to share some public parking with the convention center and the "Hilton" parking is wide open. My suggestion is to put a room key reader and arm on that lot. No valet or anything. We stayed at the Hilton Waco for one night to break up our drive from Galveston to Oklahoma. We stay in Hilton's regularly and this is by far the worst one that we have ever been in. We expect better from the Hilton brand. There was hair and makeup all over the bathroom floor. It had not been cleaned at all(see photos below). This photo was taken after I swept some of it up with tissues. There were more. I cleaned the floor up a bit covered it with towels and Clorox wiped the toilet. I checked the towels after noticing how dirty that the floor was. I found pubic hair and head hair on a wash cloth along with yellow stains(see photo). We arrived at 1:00 am with a very tired 19 month old and 5 year old that were old cold ready for a bed so there was no way that we were going to move them to another hotel. I checked the bed sheets and they looked clean other than not being fully tucked in. There was clothing left in the drawer by a previous guest(see photo). There was menstrual cycle on the chair. The one star that I gave this hotel goes the the gentleman working at the front desk that ask if we would like to move to a different room, have someone sent up to clean it or take half off of our stay. And then also to the women this morning that did not charge us after seeing photos of the room. As for the rooms...There was paint on the light fixtures in the bathroom, the air conditioning was very loud and made a broken clanking noise although it did work. The towels were not nicely folded and put in the cabinets but rather tossed in. The side table did not look clean. The room overall just did not seem clean when we came in. It looked as though the previous guest just walked out and we walked in. There was something on the bed skirt but I tried not to put too much thought into that or I might have just puked. The room decor was terrible although that was the least of my worries and would not have been a concern if the room had been clean. It had popcorn ceilings, old furniture, old linens and old towels that were see through in some spots. I read here that guest thought that this hotel was renovated. This could not possibly be the case in the guest rooms as they looked ancient. I barely slept at all as I just laid there itching thinking about how unclean the room was. read more

This is a great spot for a late night snack and is right next to some great outdoors things. Even if you aren't staying here as a guest, stop by for a great dessert under $5. The interior is a nice oasis from the nasty Texas humidity outside. Very nicely decorated, calm ambiance, and plenty of options. The staff is also very friendly! read more

Front desk is not responsive to any requests or needs. They are rude to guests. Poolside service was non existent. The restaurant and bar have very limited hours. Bartender was rude, profane, misogynistic, throwing trash behind the bar, and drinking out of our drinks. Also served the left over beverage that we paid for to another customer for free. They do not clean up common areas after guests and trash and glasses sit around for days. Bedding stained and dirty. Room dated and small. Wifi did not work for most of the stay and was not informed of how to access it at checkin. High prices for limited amenities and service. read more

Went for another try at the Hilton. The room was cleaner but still had many flaws. I reframed from taking photos as I figure this hotel is simply trying to "make do". The prices of this hotel are WAY over what they should be. No continental free breakfast, you pay for that here. Nothing impressive either, about what other hotels will give you for free--cereal, muffins, fruit, soggy bacon, eggs, dried biscuits and lumpy gravy. I encountered one person who went above and beyond to be kind, Alvin, otherwise everyone else just seems to be there to get a paycheck. I will not return. I think there are plenty of hotels in Waco, Hillsboro, and Temple that are just as good if not better and DEFINITELY a better bang for your buck. Disappointed. read more

Ever since I've started traveling to Waco for work, I've always stayed at this Hotel. It's conveniently located right in the middle of downtown Waco, and it's super close to everything! Baylor, Dr. Pepper Museum, and of course, Magnolia Market for all you Chip and Joanna Gaines fans! The views are incredible (if you can get a room on a high floor), and you can see the entire city. The executive lounge, which is well stocked with lots of snacks and drinks , has the best views of the city in the entire hotel IMO. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and I've never had any issues staying here. The breakfast they have is REALLY good, and there are lots of options to choose from. They've got a fresh fruit bar, hot items (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc), and you can also order things like omelets and other items off of the menu. Looking forward to staying here on my future business trips to Waco! Whether you're in town for a Baylor Football Game, or wanting to visit Magnolia Market, definitely give this hotel a try! read more

Hilton prices, but no valet! So I had to park my car in the back circle unload my bags, find a cart (no easy task) haul them upstairs, and then run downstairs to park my car. Valet at my age is no longer a luxury, but basically a necessity. It's one of the reasons I pay extra. The rooms were clean, but did not have central A/C, so we had to listen to that noisy overgrown wall unit thing all night. read more

We arrived at 6 pm to an empty front desk. Waited five minutes and when the clerk finally arrived he check us into a room we discovered was already occupied. They no longer serve breakfast. This was the WORST customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel! Josh G was very unprofessional and incompetent to complete his basic job duties. First, we reserved a room with two queen size beds (there were 4 in our party). However, prior to check in we were told that we would have to get two separate rooms because they did not have that type of room available. Upon check out we were forced to pay the ENTIRE bill for the two rooms despite us booking only one room. Secondly, we have a military discount and they refused to honor it. We had a military veteran who has over 20 years of service staying with us they would not honor their corporate policy to provide a military discount. It took multiple conversations with Josh G to finally agree the friends and family discount even though the veteran was staying with us!! Overall, I have never been so disappointed in a hotel. We are Hilton honor reward members and have always had wonderful experiences with Hilton but after today will never stay in another one again. They completely disrespected a former member of the military and I will not support a company who stands for that. IN ADDITION. I do not want a sympathy sorry and a plea for us to visit your hotel again. If you truly stand by your apology then I would expect a refund for the additional room that we were forced to pay to make up for the mistake that YOUR staff made! read more

Front desk staff was very rude and unhelpful. The room has a very musty smell that has permeated everything. Chose the Executive floor due to the Concierge offering that every other Hilton offers. Was not told that it is not offered until I called down to ask what time it would be open. Might be an important thing to tell patrons upon checking in. No USB ports in any room, which is odd considering this is a business hotel AND it is 2022. Overall, this hotel is very old/dated and in dire need of modernization. read more

A decent night's sleep and close to everything. This hotel has nice-sized rooms and comfortable beds. However the rooms are not well sound-proofed. Since the folks on my hallway wanted to be loud and stay up late, that meant I had to suffer through for several hours before they finally shut up. :-/ The restaurant was good for breakfast. Pro tip: Don't get the buffet. At $16.95, you are unlikely to eat enough to make it worthwhile. Instead ask for a menu and order what you want. I had the country breakfast (eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast) for $9.95. It was plenty for me. Location wise this hotel is well situated if you want to be close to the action in Waco. It's a four minute drive to Magnolia and connects to the Waco Convention Center. Parking is free as is regular wifi. read more

I lived at the Hilton Waco for over a year for work. In that time, I got to know the Hilton Waco like you would get to know your own home, so I wanted to pass on some of that to my fellow Yelp'ers. The Hilton Waco and I have had our ups and downs, but following my pro-tips below will help you to avoid the pitfalls and have a perfectly nice stay at Hilton Waco. Room Advice 1: Never accept a corner suite upgrade in the summer. You get ~30% more window around the corner, but the temperature in these rooms during the summer is unbearably hot. The A/C can't keep up, and was so overworked trying to keep up it started making shrieking sounds during the night, and was a terrifying way to be woken up in the middle of the night. The corner rooms are numbered (XX01, XX02, XX21, XX22) so you know if you are in a corner room or not. Room Advice 2: Get an odd #ered room. These rooms face the river and the park, and have a lovely quite view of nature. Try to avoid even # rooms on the "bird" side of the hotel. Swarms of birds live in the trees on the even # bird side of the hotel (the Franklin St. side of the hotel). The birds caw at each other as loudly as possible all hours of the day and night. The closer you are to tree level, the louder the birds get. Always make sure you have an odd # room. Room Advice 3: This one is super easy. The third floor smells like smoke. Don't stay here, if you don't like smoke. The hallway and the rooms both smell like smoke. Staff: If you have a problem, try to wait until one of the younger women is working the front desk. They are super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The older woman and the guy named Simian make me feel like I've ruined their day if I have a problem with my room. The young women working at the Hilton Waco are awesome. One employee at the front desk labored with me over the fax machine trying to help me fax a large, odd-sized piece of paper. It took probably 20 minutes, and definitely wasn't a requirement of her job, but she tried and tried again until the fax went through. Going above and beyond for me really made my day and definitely earned the hotel another star. Food: The hotel will bring a mini-fridge up to your room on request, which really helped when I wanted to buy lunch for the next day the night before. As for breakfast, the hotel doesn't have a free breakfast, but there is a restaurant that also serves room service for those night owls who can't make it out to a restaurant in Waco before they all close. The food from the restaurant is pretty greasy so I only go there in a pinch. Curfew: If you are out late at night you feel a little sheepish coming "home" because the hotel has a curfew for locking up the doors at night. If you want to be out late, you have to ring the doorbell for a doorman to come let you in. For the best from a safety perspective, but a little embarrassing having to be let in at night. read more

Rooms are okay size, and clean. Bed is pretty comfy. The front desk staff has been efficient and helpful. They have $1.95 Bud Light on tap in the lobby bar, but that is the ONLY beer on tap. The shower has good water pressure and temperature, but the faux drawer in the bathroom vanity keeps popping off. Four out of the five people in my group (including myself) have had problems with their tvs. 3 have not had a picture, but only volume, and have had to have maintenance come up and fix it. The volume on my television only works in Stadium mode. I have a refrigerator in my room, but my other colleagues do not. Also, this afternoon, I had housekeeping staff come into my room, while I was in the process of changing clothes, without knocking. They do not have complimentary breakfast for non-Hilton Honors members, but they do have an executive lounge for Gold and Diamond members. read more

Well when I can say about the hotel is other reviewer's are correct the corner rooms are nice with a view of the river the beds were comfortable the AC works okay nice pillows but room service forget about it. we ordered breakfast for two. It came cold not for2 only for-1 I asked for grits and they gave me oatmeal. I asked for cornflakes they gave me mini wheats no milk of course for the mini wheats and no butter for the toast or the English muffin. So we went downstairs to try to find something to eat there's a gentleman in a wheelchair that gave one of the servers five dollars because he just had coffee and nobody would wait on him my wife looks on the line and there's no scrambled eggs and there's nobody in the place! So we left and went to Jack-in-the-Box to get window food. One person Stephanie was a waitress who saw our distress and she was quite helpful and gave me a coffee to go. Maybe next time we come to Waco we will try the Marriott. read more

This is the Hilton,Waco Tx. Somewhat off the beaten path as far as Hilton goes. The luxurious furnishings and amenities of the other hiltons, Hawaii Ny etc. will not be found here and so it is closer to a full service holiday inn or some off the smaller Marriotts. The service like all hiltons was very on point. Helpful and courteous staff. Rooms were clean as was the premises. Starbucks in the lobby was a plus. Will be back! read more

Recently traveled here with some guests, and had a bad experience. Found ants in our bathroom, they did not have extra sheets for us to change, the bathroom had ruined stains in the seats, and housekeeping was not automatic, you have to schedule it. Also the front desk was not very friendly at all. If you do stay here, I hope you have a better experience than I did. read more

I stayed at the Hilton for 3 nights in April while visiting the Silos. My friend made the reservations asking for a river view. The requested room was not honored. We were given a view of the warehouse business across the street, but could see the Silos in the distance. Rooms I felt were a little dated. Food was not very good at lunch or dinner. Service was also spotty. Front desk customer service was also hit or miss. The outside pool area is very nice. Parking is not managed by the hotel and a Friday night street concert took all the spots in the parking lot. You can catch the trolley to go to Magnolia over at the Warehouse. If I travel to Waco again, I will stay at the Indigo for the convenience to be close to the Silos. read more

Great location near Baylor University, one of the nicest hotels in the area. I had a corner room on the top floor and had great views of the Brazos Riverwalk and Indian Spring Park. My room was clean and neat (but could use a facelift) EXCELLENT staff, super friendly and very helpful... great evening happy hour & breakfast (executive level) the only bad thing I could say about this hotel is they need to install door closers, I heard doors SLAMMING regularly throughout my stay there. read more

My family and I traveled from Houston tx to visit the great city of Waco and never having been here our expectations for the Hilton were set high. Our original room had been canceled prior to us arriving not sure how but they were able to get us a smaller room at a cheaper price however it wasn't the original 2 bed room we had reserved. Nonetheless we accepted and took our stuff to our room. The room was clean from what we could see at first. Upon returning from our day of exploring the town and kids were ready for bed their were no available sheets or blankets for the pull out sleeper sofa. We called down and Jennifer gladly took our call and was very nice and concerned however she herself had to deliver them to our room after a follow up phone call to her after 20-30 minutes.it seemed as though she was alone and doing it all, but she knocked on the door not 5 minutes later after the second call. Thank you Jennifer! Upon inspecting the room while getting ready for bed the nightstands seemed very dusty especially the phone,lampshades and headboard. Not sure how that works with the wiping down for corona precautions? I will say staff were nice and helpful but I give a C- for cleanliness. I'll be honest, I was disappointed with my most recent visit to Hilton Waco. The best thing that this property has going for it is location. It is directly across the street from several great food trucks, bars, and restaurants. The property itself needs upgrades (which appears to be in process.) I am a Hilton Diamond member, but I did not receive any benefits. No room upgrade, no breakfast vouchers, and no Executive lounge access. First world problems (I know), but it's nice to have my loyalty to Hilton Brands acknowledged. Little things such as a room with a view or a free breakfast goes a long way with road warriors such as myself sometimes. Will I stay at this location again... undecided. read more

We always stay here when traveling for work. Never had anything to complain about. Super friendly front desk folks, especially Alvin, dude is cooler than the other side of a pillow. Rooms are always clean and comfy. Walking distance to food and a few bars downtown. You can conveniently go for a jog along the brazos valley river just outside! Only thing is I can't honestly brag about their dining, oh well, food isn't a make or break when choosing a hotel. A solid 4 stars! read more

My wife and I did not stay at the Hilton but had dinner there the first night we were in Waco a week ago. We were participants in the Art Show in the park along the River near the Hilton. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to return and had dinner our second and last night in town as well. Though the dining room was rather empty, we received a friendly greeting from both Cee Cee, the manager, and Dennis, our server. Both were enthusiastic and very friendly which made our visit lovely. The food itself was excellent. We were not in the mood for fast food but finding an upscale place to eat in Waco was challenging. So, we selected the Hilton and look forward to going back there the next time we are in Waco. read more

The other and I were in town on business. We chose this property because they had a pool, a restaurant and a bar. For business, Hilton's are generally ok. We checked in on August 9th. At first glance the room was fine. We turned on the AC to cool down the room, went down to the bar for a cocktail after a long drive. The bartender was good. That's about the only thing good about this Hilton property. We went back up to the room to go to bed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, clearly a bad mattress. The sheets were like gauze, old and worn out. The AC is an exterior wall unit. It raddled all night. Was like a CAT D 6 engine running in the room all night. The towels were so old, they felt like gym towels from high school. Yep, like drying off from the shower with sandpaper. The pool area is very spartan. We weren't expecting destination resort type pool area, but in Waco Texas during summertime an umbrella would've been nice. There is one, in the center of one patio table. Without umbrellas dispersed among the lounge chairs , the pool was not usable. Onto the restaurant. I had breakfast one morning. They offer a Buffett. Clearly for the hot items, nothing is actually cooked onsite. The scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and potatoes were all heat-and-serve products. The did have an omelette station, he was busy when I was there. I didn't want to spend 20-30 minutes waiting for my turn. Two words describes our thoughts on this Hilton property; Never Again. With other choices, we will stay someplace else. read more

Two entrances. Neither looked like the front. Reserved room with king & sofa sleeper. Got king only. Had to move to correct room. Took 4 trips to get the door lock on new room to work. Restaurant was out of steaks. Both my wife & I nearly sprained knee on well disguised step to pool. 2 trips to bar to get 1 beer to sip by pool after near fall on step. Cafe for breakfast had 2 choices-muffins or bacon egg cheese biscuits you had to microwave your own-no butter for muffins. Overall feel was guests weren't a priority. They must make their money from conventions. Won't return or recommend. Expensive. read more

Our two bed reservation was not done, forcing us to purchase a second room at an increased rate. The manager Josh G was extremely rude and lied about the available room rate. Room - beds are comfy even if the carpet shows lots of stains. AC seems to struggle in the wee hours of the morning but is not too bad. We asked for extra pillows and towels - it never came even though we asked twice, with 4 hours between requests. (Don't the housekeeping people know that a tip awaits them when they deliver?) The response? "Oh, I forgot." Breakfast buffet - the lady at the entrance did not acknowledge my presence as I waited to be seated. My husband just walked in and the older gentleman (server) took care of him right away. Young lady making the omelet was nice and friendly. Update...I am writing this a year later but from memory: we complained to Corporate (we are Hilton Honors members after all) and they sent up a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate dipped strawberries (if I remember correctly) with a note of apology. This place is horrible. You'd think staying at a Hilton would guarantee that things would be better than average. Not here. Our room was old. Wallpaper peeling. Toilet did not flush well- had to hold it down. No turn down service. Had to buy coffee in the mornings, unlike most hotels who provide fresh coffee for their guests in the mornings. TVs were old. Bedskirts were dirty. AC was loud. The list goes on. We will be in Waco a lot over the next 4 years, but will never stay here again. read more

I highly recommend you stay somewhere else. We did an Advance Purchase reservation and our funds taken out of our acct. They did not acknowledge that our receipt for payment with the Advance Purchase was legitimate. Upon checkin an additional $414.00 was taken out. I was forced to provide a checking acct statement to prove payment, then they refused to immediately refund the additional $414.00. I was then advised that I had to call my bank for them to talk to them about releasing the hold on the $414.00. I called and they were incorrect. It required an e-mail or FAX. Fiasco. Complaints have been filed. Oh, and for those prices I don't expect holes in the floor in our room. Run!!!!!! Update after checking out. Still no refunds. I would like to add that Alvin from the front desk tried his hardest to be helpful. It was just all out of his hands. read more
