Such good food and really good service! We had the lamb thali and momo set. Everything was super delicious and the naan was to die for!

An award winning restaurant in the real sense. The staff is well trained, they gave us some delicious recommendations of food and drinks. We tried veg momo which comes with a spicy sauce and a very spicy sauce. The combination is superb filled with flavours and finely chopped vegetable filling. The chilli chicken was coles with perfection where chicken was tender and had balanced flavors. It was one of my favorites from tonight. Then we mover on to one of the entrees which was vegetable stir fry noodles and they were cooked just perfect soft and flavourful balanced with a Lot of vegetables. A non veg thali was our next choice which had everything - lamb, a side vegetable curry of potatoes and cauliflower and lentils with rice and salad. We asked for himalayan special naan and garlic naan. The side salad with the thali was my personal cherry on the top. The portions of the thali were just perfect for an entre for one or 2 people to share. It also had a small porto on of dessert which is a rich rice pudding and was heavenly. We had ordered drinks pinot noir and a passionfruit vodka cocktail. All in all it was an amazing experience with live music and in the heart of norwalk. Definitely coming back next time, totally worth the one hour drive. read more

The food was wonderful and excellently spiced. Nice variety on the menu. Only thing I would say is that they don't have Himalayan music on Friday nights though the website says they do they have a duo playing regular American music. I would have preferred to hear the Nepalese music. read more

The food, service and ambiance was great! I like to meet my friend in SoNo and this was an excellent choice. Everyone was very attentive. My Chana masala and my friend's saag paneer both were delicious. The live music was great as well. Not overly loud to allow us to still converse (and we were at the table nearest the stage). Added bonus was the owner whom we spoke briefly with on the way out. Super humble person. I hope this restaurant lasts a long time! Will be back for sure. read more

Honestly I can't stop raving about our dinner here! The food was literally perfect. No notes. Flavor, portions, presentation, menu options, pricing- this restaurant is a gem. Live music indoor was beautiful, outdoor seating options a huge plus for pet owners. Delicious cocktails and imported beers/wines. Friendly, helpful staff. The owner/head chef was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Side note: chef indicated most people order mild spice, my partner and I both went for "Spicy", I adore real spicy/hot Asian/Indian food, I didn't find it overwhelming at all, it was packed with heat and flavor, I seriously dream about this food. INCREDIBLE service. Immediately, you feel at home and the owner greeted every table. He talked with us about his other locations, both in the city and just outside the city. This Norwalk location has both inside and outside dining with incredible ambiance and some live music over the weekend. I am a huge fan of Chicken Tikka Masala and the dishes here are to die for. This restaurant is exactly what Norwalk needed--and I'd even call it one of the city's best-kept secrets (at least for now!). It's a family-owned spot serving authentic cuisine that feels both local and special. The food was phenomenal, with generous portions and incredible flavor. We ordered the Chana Masala, veggie fried noodles, and the Himalayan Aloo Chop (an absolute must-try!). Everything was fresh, perfectly spiced, and so satisfying. What really stood out was the service--hospitable, genuine, and welcoming. They even made my 16-month-old daughter feel completely at ease, which means so much to parents dining out. The only thing missing? A stronger specialty cocktail program. I enjoyed the Sakitini--it was delicious--but I'd love to see more unique drink options added to the menu. Overall, this place is 100% worth a visit. Norwalk has a hidden gem on its hands, and I have no doubt it won't stay a secret for long. Highly recommend--you will not be disappointed! We love this restaurant! The food is superb and there are a wide variety of taste choices for every palate. Portions are generous. We enjoy the live music, makes for such a pleasant dining experience. Capping off the meal with chai tea is memorable. Generally, parking at the Haviland Street lot is a breeze. The food was awesome. Very tasty. I had chicken curry with rice. Beef Mono soup. Saketini from the bar. When they asked me if I wanted water I went with sparkling water and they gave me a big bottle of Perrier!!!! Service was excellent. And the ambience is very nice but it's much nicer if you get there after 6:30 PM where they have live music playing. Check for the times of the week when they open in case you want to get there early for lunch. And always check what's available before going to the restaurant on the day of choosing because they have different items during the week. read more

I had dinner here with my husband and son on Friday night and it was a lovely experience. The service is very attentive and professional. Although much of the menu will be familiar to those who frequent Indian restaurants, the staff here is Nepali and the menu reflects that. I was pleased to be able to order a "thali," or plate, which includes several small dishes, rice, dal, and a pickle, and is a traditional way to eat Nepali food. Everything was very reasonably priced. The dishes were tasty and seasoned perfectly. I'll certainly be back. My only complaint was that the live music was extremely loud and we needed to yell to be heard. Staff graciously moved us to a table away from the speaker, but there was still no good way to truly avoid it, and detracted from the experience. It's a restaurant, not a rock concert! However, don't let this dissuade you from trying Himalaya Sono. It's excellent. read more

Had dinner here yesterday and it was excellent! The food is similar to Indian but a little more interesting and they have beef and pork unlike a standard Indian restaurant. We had the beef korma which was really interesting and extremely delicious. We also had noodles, lamb chili, beef mono dumplings as well, all were really good. The prices were reasonable. The ambiance was reallly good, with art that makes you think about Nepal and Mount Everest. They had live music. Only drawback is parking is not ideal. I would recommend for sure. read more

Happened to be in Norwalk and tried this new Nepalese restaurant. Lovely decor and ambiance and impeccable, attentive and friendly service that never felt overbearing. We had chicken chili, the mono set, Himalayan Korma, Tandoori chicken and Himalayan naan. Portions were sizable - two of us did not come close to finishing what was basically 2 mains and 2 apps. Each dish was delicious, very flavorful and all were well-presented. The Himalayan naan was unique and is a must-get. Would definitely return when in Norwalk or near any of the other locations (there's one in Scarsdale and several other spots in and around NY. read more

Restaurant is seven weeks old, some of their dishes are way too sweet and some are way too spicy. Their wine selection is not that good. I think it will be hard for them to survive in South Norwalk, but time will tell. They have outdoor patio area, which is nice. However, I don't think we shall be returning. read more
