On our first visit, we ordered full-sized portions, and the next time we tried the lunch combo, which was a perfect way to sample a variety of dishes at a great portion size. The food takes a bit longer to come out, but its hot and fresh when its on the table. I tried these below, and all were yummy: Butter chicken- rich and creamy. We ordered little to medium spice, but it could've been spicier Sizzling lamb momo- tasty and meaty, not gamey. Chicken Vindaloo- deeper tamarind flavored, with chicken Shrimp Tandoori- large shrimps, and was very spicy. One of the absolute best Nepali Indo Chinese restaurants I have been to. Besides the traditional tandoori and tikka dishes... the indo chinese menu, the momo sizzler is next level. Great selection of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and just a wonderful service experience to top it all off. This restaurant is hidden between a dentist office and a nail salon, but I'm so glad we found this place, the food is honestly amazing! The mango lassi is by far the best I've had: perfectly sweet, tangy, and not too thick. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, shrimp biryani, lamb curry, and tandoori mix. My favorite is obviously the nepali momo. I usually get the chicken, chicken jhol, and goat momos. I also love the chowmein. I usually go straight to the Nepali section on the menu, and haven't ordered any "Indian" food from here yet. The price has gone up a lot since they opened, likely due to how good the food is and how popular the place has become. Drove from OC to this Himalayan spot, and found the drive absolutely worthwhile! Started with a couple of masala chais and complimentary lentil soup, perfect to warm us up on a rainy day. Grabbed an extra masala chai to go at the end! Chicken sekuwa was the standout dish. Tender spiced chicken with a tangy sauce and the perfect amount of heat - not to mention the appealing plating! This is a must try. We also got momos - was hoping they had yak but settled for lamb. Not bad and the sauce brightened up the slightly dry momos, but overall not outstanding either. Goat curry had meat just as tender as the sekuwa, proving that their meat dishes are no fluke. The curry itself is on the milder and lighter side in both flavor and consistency, not a bad thing if you don't want to feel heavy and stuffed. Their butter chicken is so yummy, the spice level was perfect! The chicken biryani was amazing, and the rice was perfectly fluffy! Portions were generous enough for 2-3 meals. The butter chicken was incredible; rich, creamy and loaded with tender chicken. The naan came fresh with the perfect chew, easily some of the best I've had. I'm still dreaming about the cheese garlic naan, so if you're choosing between regular and cheese garlic, go cheese garlic. We've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally came during lunch last week. Their weekday lunch special is such a good deal. You get to choose 2 items and it comes with rice, naan, salad, and a dessert for $15. Everything we got was delicious. The naan was warm and buttery and went perfect with my tikka masala. I also ordered one more veggie item but forgot the name. My husband got the vindaloo and tikka masala. The service was also fantastic. We enjoyed the food so much we brought the entire family. My kids loved the naan and salmon tandoori, my mom loved the lamb tandoori, and my father in law enjoyed his cauliflower dish. The service was even better the second time. There is plenty of seating , open space and overall pleasant. The service was excellent, our host gave us suggestions and was great on checking in with us. Other than the Himalayan fried rice, its menu is very similar to other Indian restaurants I visited before. I was delighted to find lamb vindaloo on the menu so that is what I ordered along with naan bread. Although I ordered my vindaloo with the hottest spicy level but it was only mild for my taste. Lamb was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The naan was good too. Himalayan Aroma does have a lunch special menu on weekdays, mostly chicken and vegetarian dishes.
