When I came to Yelp to leave this review and saw their rating, the only thing I can think is other Indian restaurant owners MUST come here for to eat, and then have their large amount of family members give them low ratings, because it's too freaking good!!! I am SHOCKED honestly! This is LITERALLY THE BEST INDIAN FOOD I have ever had in my life. As a 1st Generation American, who has lived in Europe and have eaten Indian food in at least 30 cities worldwide, I GENUINELY MEAN IT!!! I'm bummed I didn't get pictures, but the food area is incredibly clean, their Bakery section is absolutely unique especially for Indian Restaurants, and the portion sizes were honestly perfect for a 250 lb guy to have a full lunch left for tomorrow. The chicken 56 which I had never heard of in my life, was incredible has a delicious vinegary, slightly spicy, almost like an Indian Food version of orange chicken, but WAAAYYYY more tender. And their Tikka Masala is incredibly flavorful in my opinion for something that is usually pretty simple. read more

Be aware of the cockroaches I've visited this restaurant a few times before, and up until today, my experiences had been positive--friendly staff and good food. Unfortunately, today completely changed my perspective. As I was getting ready to pay, I noticed cockroaches walking across the countertop, which was extremely concerning. Around the same time, the staff informed me that their system was down and that I would need to pay using Zelle. They also appeared to notice the cockroaches and quickly tried to cover my food while giggling and speaking among themselves. Their behavior made me feel very uncomfortable, especially since they seemed nervous and were urging me to follow them and send payment. I didn't want to cause a scene, but I felt uneasy. I told them I didn't have Zelle and didn't have time, and I decided to leave without taking the food. As I was leaving, I noticed the staff who had seen me looking at the cockroaches speaking to others and giving me strange looks, which added to the discomfort. We have been frequent customer for years, food quality has been on steady decline since past few months. Naan are under cooked and doughy, the Aloo parathas which used to be delicious are now thick slab of dough with literally no Aloo. Everything consistently tastes extremely poor from chats to entrees. I've been ordering a few times from them lately as a Doordash Staycation Treat and Masala House always dazzles up my Home with heavenly aromas and the most gourmet affordable Combination plates with an abundance of health Vegetarian options! I always order the Chicken Tikka Masala with one of the fun Vegetarian side dishes, and some hot crispy Samosas with their sweet and delicious dipping sauces as well! I definitely recommend the Garlic Naan too, it is so good and tastes so fresh and masterfully crafted. I also want to thank Masala House for attaching the invitation to this Year's Holi Festival of Colors! This is my favorite Indian restaurant. The food is affordable, not that spicy (which means I can actually eat it), but at the same time it's still really flavorful. Since it's cafeteria style and they only put the name of the dish, but not always what's in it, you have to trust that what you're pointing to is something you'll like. I basically pointed to whatever was on the vegetarian side on the left, color sauce I liked, and was ok with whatever was poking out of it. Since I wanted to have leftovers for dinner, my sister and I ordered 2 combo plates each, opened them all up, tasted each thing, then devoured whatever we liked best right then and there. My sister was like "This looks like a feast!" Just beware that there might be a little bit of a language barrier because even though the employees speak English, there's a thick accent which makes understanding each other difficult. Like I could tell we were both getting a little frustrated with each other and raising our voices as if that would help clarify things. In the end, I resorted to simply pointing and saying "This one." The 2 things I hope they improve upon is: 1) Put both the name and ingredients of each dish on the label. That's mostly where the confusion is. 2) Premake the naan bread so it can be eaten at the same time as the meal, not towards the end. So even though things got a little bit frustrating while ordering, it also made me appreciate the fact that these are actual Indian-Americans cooking authentic Indian food. read more

Despite reasonable prices at-face, various ways they tack up prices make the overall experience expensive (garlic on naan is two dollars extra, drinks were six dollars despite coming from a carton, etc.) Naan to order is high quality, but our server left it sitting on a counter despite calling out prepared orders for other customers. I have been a loyal customer here for a long time because I truly love their authentic Indian food. The food has always been excellent, and I've often recommended this place to my friends and family. However, my recent visit was very disappointing and left me with a heavy heart. I came in for a to-go order, and unfortunately, the front counter staff was quite rude and unwelcoming. There was no greeting, no smile, not even eye contact. When I asked for Lal Mohan (Gulab Jamun), she said she didn't know what that was, and insisted they don't sell it by piece -- even though it was clearly displayed in the heating section. After a while, she finally said they could sell it by piece for $1.49 each. I never asked for the price, but the way she said it made me feel judged, as if she assumed I couldn't afford it. It was a very disappointing experience, especially from a restaurant I've always supported and admired for its food. I want to start by saying I have been coming here for YEARS! Food has always been great, the staff was friendly and helpful. No complaints... until my last 3 visits. I gave 3 different attempts because this wasn't typical from my experiences. We learned they may have "new management", but that shouldn't be a reason for QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE to disappear. So brings me to my LAST time (last night)... my husband got food poisoning. He started to feel sick very shortly after starting to eat his food (which he didn't finish)! He ordered the coconut chicken and even from visual, he noticed it didn't look how it typically did. This was after he had to wait an additional 20 minutes for naan (which was burnt) and for the servers/cashier to be very off putting and miserable as they made our plates. In my opinion they have the best chicken tiki masala and masala dosa in the area. Service can be a bit rough like walking on eggshells if you aren't familiar with ordering but other than that everything I've tried has been good. The samosas are kind of on the spicy side but still tasty. read more

Majority of the people order to go. I like to order 3-items combo with rice (Chicken Tikka and Chicken Korma) Third is Chicken Tikka with 2 order of garlic naan. My favorite drink is sweet lassie. Sometimes, I will order mango lassie. Have you tried Thumbs Up cola? It is Indian version of coca cola. It tastes little different. The food is delicious and very affordable. The food is good. But, the customer service was disappointing. I walked in and was the only customer in the restaurant. Two employees were behind the counter working on what looked like to-go orders, but neither acknowledged me for several minutes. No greeting, no eye contact, just silence. It wasn't until someone who seemed to be the owner arrived that one of the employees finally whispered a "hello," still without looking up. I thought I'd finally be helped, but they continued preparing orders as if I wasn't there. All I needed was a simple, "Hi, welcome, we'll be right with you." A little courtesy makes a big difference. To the owner: Be mindful of who you trust to represent your business. Please consider training your staff on basic customer service and etiquette. A lot of money to be made here. When I first moved here the place was great when the owner was back there helping out. Now it seems they have new owners and food is terrible ! This was the plainest chicken masala I have ever had. It was spicy with no flavors. Super watery as well. All the food we order just plain even the garlic naan. On top of the terrible food the women working just chat with people they know and hold up the whole line. They don't even pay attention to what you are ordering because they are chatting with family and friends that come to eat. Honestly this place is garbage now. I used to go here almost 2-3x a week, ever since the new owner came its trash! Food quality has gone down and the service is trash. After today I don't think I am coming back, my parents ( they live 60 miles away) came to visit me and went here for lunch. They were treated so bad, I believe it's Payal the person that helped them out; she was very rude , my mom ordered Biryani with medium heat and it was so spicy that I myself was shocked and I eat spicy! I've read reviews here and the owner should honestly do something about this, your business is running to the ground with this new staff. So based on the reviews I was very iffy to grab food from here, I contemplated for 4months and finally decided to go today since it was a craving I had at 4 months pregnant. One thing I will confirm is that service is AWFUL, I went in and it took about 5 mins for someone to greet me, when I was ready I went up to the cashier and 2 people walked up behind me and the staff helped them before helping me (not sure why) there was NO communication, they just looked at me and kept walking back and forth talking to each other in their language. I finally got my food after 15mins of waiting for someone to help me. I decided on the 2 item combo (Goat curry and Chicken Tikka Masala) with 2 Garlic Naan and 2 Samosas it came out to $25. The samosas were packed with flavor in my opinion but the Goat Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala did lack flavor for me. I will say the Chicken Tikka Masala was very creamy so it did make it very pleasant to eat. Based on the service, idk if the flavor/food is worth it. Aw man what a disappointment this was....I've come here before years ago and now I know why I hadn't come back. I got the coconut curry chicken, Chicken Tikka and Samosa...the two stars is for the Chicken Tikka. All lacked flavor but the chicken tikka was okay. I had high hopes but considering this place has three stars already I should have known better. They literally gave me more bones instead of chicken LOL. Portions are huge and you can do 1-2 item combo bowls/plates and add freshly made naan with toppings to your liking. Absolutely love their jackfruit curry that I have not been able to find elsewhere. It also looks like they have a new addition of pastries in the bakery side of the restaurant to try. Do not ignore this review!!!This is the most stupidest and ridiculous Indian restaurant EVER. the staff team ignores you all the time and once you've stood there for around 20 minutes they will come to you. I actually think that if you asked for a burnt naan they would probably won't make it burnt, instead they will just cook it right. The cashier also talks to her friend a lot and is on her phone. We once ordered a burger and it was so soggy and had green Chutney all over it. The samosa chaat is also bad. They just put sauces and some veggies on it. These guys don't know the basics how to take orders. Most places in America have an order number under which you would order a list of items. Otherwise, how would you serve the correct list of items to the customer who are sitting in. Multiple customers might have ordered the same items on different table. With these guys, they try to do the hard way!!. Memorize the orders, looking at faces of people AND then finally mess up. Some customers are served like FILO - first in Last out. Customers waiting for hours. And then to aggravate the situation, they ask on your face - "what are you waiting for, what did you order?". Okay I want to start off by saying I was worried when going because I read A LOT of the reviews about the service. When I got there, they had just opened, and everything was hot and ready. Now I did place a large order on the spot, so I did take a little longer but nothing major. The service was great! The young lady at the register and the older gentleman with the Bluetooth earpiece were so sweet! The food was delicious! The chicken tikka masala was some of the best I've had. Their mint chutney was delicious. The lime and tamarind was good as well. The samosas were a bit spicy for me and a few others but otherwise delicious. Overall, I was pretty pleased with my visit, food, and service.
