    Tandoori paneer Tikka. Good flavors.
    Wendy B.

We have had an influx of Indian restaurants in this Corona/Riverside area recently. This is one of two within about a mile of each other, both quite new, so we thought we should give Azaad a try. The dishes we finally opted for were not particularly adventurous on our part. We had been offered a taste of the Chili Chicken to help us decide, and we did choose that. It was a pre-made entree displayed at their steam table as one option if you were to order a combo (thali) plate. It was a good dish with plenty of chicken in a sweet/spicy red chili sauce. It was mild enough that, for the weak at heart like me, I could eat it without losing the feeling in my lips. A good thing for me. Another dish, the one that particularly stood out as the winner of the evening, was the Tandoori Fish. This took some time to prepare, and was the final dish to be delivered to our table. So we knew it was made to order. They used a delicate, moist white fish, not tilapia, that is lightly marinated first, then placed in the tandoori oven just long enough to get some caramelization on the edges. Delightful tasting, melt-in-your-mouth good. Definitely one I would recommend ordering. The Tandoori Paneer Tikka was good, too. Also made to order. Maybe it was because it was too similar in presentation to the fish, but it didn't impress me as much. Nothing wrong with it, I simply loved the fish more. The samosa was our one big disappointment. The filling was good, but the crust was heavy and tough, like it had been handled too much. Not at all flakey as compared to other great ones I have had. The prices were kept quite reasonable, especially the combo meals (both lunch and dinner) are a great deal. The service was quite good, and the decor was attractive. Plenty of seating in a nice spacious dining room. For fun, they had their big screen tvs showing Bollywood style music videos. Because we live about 6 miles away, and even though the meal overall was decent, it was just not enough to convince us to return here over other places. I would rank this around 3.5 stars, but would encourage you to try it for yourself.

While there are several Indian, Pakistani, and Bengali restaurants in Riverside, this is the newest one. I popped in for dinner to try off the menu (as opposed to buffet) options. The chicken saag ($14.99), with a spinach curry blend sounded perfect for a cool rainy evening. I asked for a medium spice level, and ordered basmati rice for a side ($3.99), and one order each of plain naan and roti flatbreads. Those are a very reasonable $2.50 apiece. Thinking about leftovers potentially, I wasn't wrong when everything came out. In fact, my wait time was probably 5-10 minutes less than expected, and everything was hot and freshly prepared, in sizeable portions that were commiserate with price. The spice level was perfect for my palate. There's a little heat without compromising the overall balance. The chicken was perfectly cooked, too. Still moist and easily cut to size. I love dipping the bread into the sauce and wrapping the entrée for mini bites. Sure enough, I quit while I was ahead. The rice is plenty enough for two, or in my case, a second meal at home. While I enjoyed both breads, my preference lies with the naan. Next time I'll try garlic naan and the prathi with a different entrée. I'm craving a return soon, but I found the place to be friendly and the quality of the food speaks for itself.

Came to try out this new family owned Indian restaurant in the Riverwalk area of Riverside. I got the dinner special that came with the mini entrees, sides, samosa and naan oh and a drink! You get a good amount of food for the amount you pay. The butter chicken was flavorful. The service was attentive and they served my sister and I right away. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Can't wait to come back again!

WOW! 5 Stars! This family owned business is out of this world! I was walking by the other day and the gentleman who owns it welcomed me in and asked me to try. I was picking up dinner next door but I promised to come back because his joy was so endearing and I'm SO glad I did! I ordered to go, we got two chicken tikka masala's, a butter chicken, biryani rice with chicken, garlic naan and cheese naan. The food is INCREDIBLE! We loved it! The food is full of flavor and delicious, bold spices, but the best part? The quality! I tried the mango lassi and the jal jeera as well! I've never had either and they were so kind to let me try! Very unique to my pallet but very tasty! What sold me, was the customer service. This family is very special, you can tell they have poured all of their love into this space. What kept me? The food. Absolutely delicious! I cannot wait to come back. Please do yourself a favor and try Azaad Indian Cuisine and support small businesses! I loved it and I know you will too!

It was lovely to try a new Indian food option in Riverside! Azaad is located by the Riverwalk in a lovely area with plenty of parking. I visited with friends on a Sunday evening, and boy did this place have a lot of people going in and out picking up their food! There are plenty of booths to sit at leisurely if you wish to eat in as well though, no need for a reservation. The menu is quite large, with all kinds of North Indian food and staples to choose from! I also really appreciated the clearly marked vegan options, and vegetarian menu section. Service was very kind and helpful with my questions regarding food ingredients and modifications. I loved my butter/ghee free naan! They did a great job, it's difficult to make naan that isn't very dry without the addition of butter/ghee. The restaurant is quite spacious and probably great for larger parties, and families with children and/or strollers. There is also a large and clean private restroom.

Food was delicious! The service was wonderful and they made us feel like family The place was clean and relaxing. We ordered different items from the menu so that we could have a variety of their delicious dishes. It's a cool little place to have lunch or dinner. We had an early dinner. Thanks Azaad for the wonderful experience

This place is amazing!!! We love the mild chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Their garlic chili naan bread is delicious. They don't disappoint. The place is small but very homey we love the ambiance. Service is great too!! (Couldn't get a pic of the plate because it was too good)

    It's in a nice area

Really nice bright clean atmosphere for lunch buffet. They have a few items you pick two or three for around $16. I ordered the chicken tikka masala separately. It was very good. Staff is nice. I'll be back to try some other stuff. it's in a nice shopping center.

This was delightful and the right amount of spice for us. Delicious Tandoori chicken - it's my personal fave. It's got a nice grilled crispy layer on the outside and nice and juicy inside. The garlic naan was thin and crispy. Sooooo good Pakoras- wow. It was so good. I'll def be back and I have these to blame. Service was great. Fell in love with the inside - the walls are painted in pretty flowers. Overall such a great experience.

It has a very beautiful, artistic interior and clean look that makes a wonderful impression. The walls are painted in vibrant colors and designs. Even the bathroom is upgraded and gorgeous. They made a conscious effort to make their establishment very inviting. 5 stars for its upgrades in such a otherwise downy strip mall. We have tried several relatively new Indian restaurants in the past few months. The food, even when requested to be mild, had a bit more sting to it than I had hoped. That makes an impression that leads me to rate this as better than some, but not my favorite. First was an appetizer, a huge portion of Samosa Chaat. I was disappointed that the samosas were not particularly crisp after being smothered in the rich spicy gravy, chickpeas, and tamarind and mint sauces. It is a very pretty appetizer and very filling, but the overall spicy heat made it borderline inedible for me. Our second dish, the Butter Chicken, was very nice. There was plenty of dark meat chicken, tender and juicy, in the traditional, orange, creamy sauce. It was not only delicious with its exotic spice blend, it helped cool down the insides of my mouth while I was struggling with our other two dishes. Our final selection was the Aloo Gobi, basically, potato and cauliflower and a boatload of mixed spices. Sadly, this was too hot-spicy for wimpy me to enjoy. Again, we had requested each dish be prepared as "mild". I'm pretty sure they could have toned it down more than they did. Overall, a solid 4 stars is what I feel is fair. The prices were good, the servings were respectable, we had no complaints about the service, and the decor was very pretty. For those, unlike me, who can better handle the heat, it might have ranked higher.

I was really impressed by the scrolled 'crepe' stuffed with aloo (potatoes) and spices, and the array of dipping sauces and chutney. It was a really long time before I had another dosa at Seven Rivers in Riverside. A few years later and I got wind of Dosalicious in Corona off McKinley and the 91 Freeway. It's in a shopping center towards the back section, but once you find it, parking isn't an issue. Inside it's open and larger than you think, with some depth and extended seating. Basically, order at the counter and pay later, or whatever. The non-dosa entrées look really good in pictures, so I'm eager to try more but dosas are their namesake, so I got one that resembles my first experience in Chicago. The selection of dosas was remarkable though, so next time I should bring a friend or two to have a wider sampling. It didn't take long to arrive and while not scrolled, it was presented like a folded pocket, which fit the plate and facilitated tearing and dipping. Yes, finger food. Inside the potatoes seemed closer to mashed potatoes but flavor wise it was similar to past similar dishes. I enjoyed the two provided sauces a lot, and ultimately, it sat very light and I wasn't full, but not immediately hungry afterwards, either. Down the road I'll expand my horizons through a few visits targeting more menu choices. Very good overall. Yes, plastic silverware and disposable paper plates are what you get here, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Besides, have you ever worked in a restaurant and had to wash dishes in the back? It's hot and nasty work, I'm sure this is behind that calculus.
