Nihari
Maheen K.

We stopped here on a whim heading back home. The food was exceptional and the customer service, even better. The one star knock will be explained, but truly a great spot for good food! Nihari - this had the perfect amount of meat and spice. The gravy was also a perfect texture (not too thick or thin), and it went well with the fresh Naan and toppings (ginger, green pepper, and lemon). Chicken Biryani - this is where I am docking a star. Although the meat was super tender and falling off the chicken bone, I found this to be missing the potato and it was not as spicy as I like it. Honestly this dish was disappointing in many aspects. The flavor was not up to par, and with all the other dishes really good, this one stood out. Bihari kabob - we had not initially ordered these, but one of the employees came out from the kitchen and asked. He said he is making it fresh and hot, so we felt obligated and were pleased. The tenderness of the meat and the flavor were all consistent. The best part, there was no smell. Even after heating it up the next day. Beef gola kabob - my only complaint about this would be the plate is small compared to price, but the taste was great. Again the meat was melting in your mouth with the perfect balance of spice and flavor. Naan - fresh and good. Overall the sitting area wasn't the best but the employees were very friendly and comped us a Mango lassi (she my baby was hungry and fussy). The owner was also very hospitable, with all employees following suit. We will definitely be back to try more food!

I love the food from here! We have ordered takeout twice from this restaurant recently. It is located inside the Ctown farmers market. Kitchen only that is cranking out delicious food! Chicken Biriyani is priced lower than what you pay at other restaurants. Portion size is more than competitor's offeringa. Taste is authentic! Curries are delicious! Not too buttery like the other places we frequent. Naan's are also priced lower than their competitor's. If this restaurant was not located so far away, we would be here weekly!!! Do check this fantastic Hyderabad style restaurant guys! I highly recommend!

Wow wow wow aloo keema was amazing! Just like my mom makes it! So few places nail the flavor but this was absolutely perfect. Pro tip: ask for the lemon and chilli's. The gentlemen working there are so sweet! Another plus is they are located inside CTown so you can grab some Pakola or Salaam Cola for the full Pakistani vibe. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

The staff were friendly and attentive both times. On our first visit, we ordered full-sized portions, and the next time we tried the lunch combo, which was a perfect way to sample a variety of dishes at a great portion size. The food takes a bit longer to come out, but its hot and fresh when its on the table. I tried these below, and all were yummy: Butter chicken- rich and creamy. We ordered little to medium spice, but it could've been spicier Sizzling lamb momo- tasty and meaty, not gamey. Chicken Vindaloo- deeper tamarind flavored, with chicken Shrimp Tandoori- large shrimps, and was very spicy. Chicken Chilli- good amount of larger chicken chunks, with bell peppers, tomatoes and onions and get the garlic naan and mango lassi! It was perfect to dip the naan in the sauces

We arrived when they first opened at 4:30, and initially I was concerned because I didn't feel the warm greeting others referenced in their reviews, I mean they weren't rude, but maybe just distracted because they'd just opened and were still putting out food for the buffet. We opted to order from the menu, and the young lady who took our ordered turned out to be very sweet. And OMG they didn't need to say a single word to me honestly (although they did warm up), that food spoke for itself. We ordered the Samosas, Chicken Saag, Shrimp Coconut Masala, Daal Mahkni, Garlic Naan, Basamati Rice, and Mango Lassi. I wish I'd taken photos. Everything was so fresh and the heat (medium for the shrimp and hot for the chicken) was perfectly balanced with the flavor of the food. My husband wasn't sure if he should go hot or medium but the Chef came out and overheard us trying to decide and he told us he'd hook it up...and he definitely did. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender enough that we could cut through it with a plastic spoon. The shrimp were also cooked to perfection. Not overcooked but also not undercooked...like the right in-between texture that paired well with the coconut masala sauce. The naan was soft and flavorful (I meant to order another one to go but forgot). And the Mango Lassi was absolutely delicious. My only regret is that they are an hour away from where we live so I won't be able to visit them as often as I'd like, but we will be back. And as we were preparing to leave the owner (I believe) stopped us and asked what we thought about the food. You can tell they really care about the food quality and they really are bringing top notch Indian cuisine, excellent portions, at a very fair price point. Three things hard to come by all at once in today's economy. I highly recommend this place, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was really impressed by the scrolled 'crepe' stuffed with aloo (potatoes) and spices, and the array of dipping sauces and chutney. It was a really long time before I had another dosa at Seven Rivers in Riverside. A few years later and I got wind of Dosalicious in Corona off McKinley and the 91 Freeway. It's in a shopping center towards the back section, but once you find it, parking isn't an issue. Inside it's open and larger than you think, with some depth and extended seating. Basically, order at the counter and pay later, or whatever. The non-dosa entrées look really good in pictures, so I'm eager to try more but dosas are their namesake, so I got one that resembles my first experience in Chicago. The selection of dosas was remarkable though, so next time I should bring a friend or two to have a wider sampling. It didn't take long to arrive and while not scrolled, it was presented like a folded pocket, which fit the plate and facilitated tearing and dipping. Yes, finger food. Inside the potatoes seemed closer to mashed potatoes but flavor wise it was similar to past similar dishes. I enjoyed the two provided sauces a lot, and ultimately, it sat very light and I wasn't full, but not immediately hungry afterwards, either. Down the road I'll expand my horizons through a few visits targeting more menu choices. Very good overall. Yes, plastic silverware and disposable paper plates are what you get here, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Besides, have you ever worked in a restaurant and had to wash dishes in the back? It's hot and nasty work, I'm sure this is behind that calculus.

Customer service was excellent as well--everyone was friendly, respectful, and welcoming. What stood out to me most was how comfortable they made us feel as a family. I was there with my husband and two young kids, and at no point did the staff make us feel like the normal kid noise or playing around was a bother. That means a lot to parents. The place is on the smaller side, but it's thoughtfully put together, clean, and inviting. Great food, great service, and a family-friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

"No thank you" I said and asked about the gland, they had already removed it. We love that. However they kept asking me how I wanted it cut and this is when I started to get protective of little Lucius. I had been thinking of names the whole way there you see. I knew he was a Lucius the moment I saw him. Anyway, I told them I wanted to cut! A little shrilly I might add. Well, that certainly got the point across as they all laughed and apologized. I grabbed a trash bag off the shelf and said let's go! We bagged em and they even carried him to my car! Well that was just the beginning. They write songs about how far Lucius and I traveled together. Literally over 500 miles... you get it. He kept very well in my cooler in the car over night, which is where we both slept.
