This restaurant was really good and their staff is the sweetest!! I really enjoyed their butter chicken dish and the garlic naan!

Everything went well, thank heavens. I was a little worried when a place is empty on a Friday night but we haven't had Indian food since we moved from NY ( home to every cuisine you can fathom) so we figured we give it a shot. The waitress was super sweet and even inquired to see if the chef could make papri chaat even though it wasn't on the menu. We started with the samosa chat which was delicious, for mild it was a bit spicy for me but tolerable. For our meals we got the goat biryani and the chicken tikka masala with a side of garlic naan. The restaurant was empty of customers when we walked in at 8pm. The hostess, Sky, was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I ordered Lamb Biryani (spice level,1), garlic naan, and mango Lassi to drink. My husband had the goat biryani (spice level 2), vegetable samosas, and water. So good! Might be the best Indian food in Savannah! We arrived on Friday night around 7:30, it wasn't busy. However, there were tons of Uber eats or DoorDash orders! We got the onion kulcha, lamb samosas, chicken tikka masala, and shrimp korma. I thought I was going to have some leftovers to take home, but I cleaned my plate - it was that good. The serving dish that had the three different sauces (one that was mint based, another that was tamarind based, and a third made with onions and ketchup) was not only cute, but very handy with the small serving spoons. Normally I get those sauces in small containers and end up pouring way too much on my food. Everything okay as so good and came out quickly. I was almost concerned, but the food tasted fresh. Not something what was reheated in the back. Some prices have increased, I think due to COVID related things, but I'd still go back! read more

Ordered take out and was pleasantly surprised. This was the first time I've ordered Indian cuisine but was quite taken a back by the food. Chand helped me when I came in and was one of the nicest servers I've encountered in a long time. He was so friendly and answered all the questions I had about the menu. I'm not a spicy fan but he told me they can do any dish mild medium or spicy I opted for mild and not discounted, it was great. I tried the place for lunch today and was disappointed. Despite me being the only person in the establishment it still took 5 minutes for someone to approach me for a drink order after seating myself. I ordered a coke (they were out) so settled on a sprite with garlic naan and lamb biryani. Behind the bar was the screen playing Bollywood DJ Dance Party with a large picture of a female in a bikini. Certainly not the environment I'd take my 3 & 7 year olds for a meal. The food itself was actually pretty good. Naan was cooked right and the Biryani had good flavor with decent lamb chunks. Then the bill came... First the bill was printed on a piece of electronic paper that was missing half the line items. They charged me for two Sprites, but whatever, I didn't complain over that. I did see a 7% and a 3.75% charges at the bottom. I knew the 7% was tax but I asked what the other 3.75% was and the man had such a hard time with English he put some lady on a FaceTime with me to try and explain it. They re-printed the bill and it was a "non-cash service charge" so I paid him with cash and told him to remove it. He didn't remove the fee. When he came back with the incorrect change he opened another FaceTime with a lady (the owner?) and she said that I had to pay it for using a credit card but I informed her I paid with cash. The man spent another 8 minutes back at the register trying to talk to the woman over the phone to get me back the money they overcharged me...or just dribble out the clock until I was late to return to work. Finally, I left a 5$ tip and told them I wouldn't be returning and to keep the money. I won't be going back. Not if I were starving. read more

Invited by my daughter to take a break from nearby shopping, and visit a restaurant that was a destination in past years. Upon arrival, I wondered if it was open. Sign was lit but no cars around no movement and no sounds. Upon entry it took a while to be approached and invited to take a seat. Since it was Sunday, our menu options were limited but sufficient to find our choices. With a vegetarian and carnivore, we went to different culinary corners. Upon the suggestion of the manager/server my daughter chose a spicy vegetable cream curry. It was served with about a tablespoon of cashews on top. My choice was the goat vindaloo. I'm a long time fan of the spicy, biting, vinegar-imbued meat curry dish. So much so that I make it at home. Apart from a firey bite, classic vindaloo flavor comes from vinegar. My dish was more like a mild curry stew. Some vinegar was hiding in there, but no heat, and no raw bite. The meat was cubed into about 2 inch cubes by about 1/2 inch thick. Meat was tough, stringy and attached to bones. In all, maybe a cup and a half of meat. With broth, the serving was about a cup and a half. $19 My daughter's $15 vegetarian entree was better seasoned (spicy) and packed with fresh cut vegetables in a delicious curry sauce. Capped with garlic Naan (fresh and delicious) and Indian Taj Mahal beer and we had a nice visit. Solid, not remarkable. read more

The vegetables curry looks and tast like it came out of the can and they put there curry sauce on it but everything else was good. if I could give a zero star, I would I've been sitting in this damn restaurant for TWO HOURS waiting for food. I was told 45 minutes -- clearly that was some bullshit. Nobody checked on us, nobody explained shit, and I had to ask for my own drink like I was a problem for being here. The staff is moving slow as hell, taking their sweet ass time, and it honestly feels like nobody back there knows what they're doing. Just had an amazing lunch at Pakwan earlier. I was craving chicken tikka masala with some garlic naan and it was everything I hoped it would be! Shawn was so helpful in suggesting new items for this creature of habit and I'm so glad he did. He suggested that I try the mango lassi and it was the perfect cold drink for this warm spring day. Then, he asked if I had ever tried their Indian donuts. I had not. So at the end he brought the sweetest dessert I had never had before. I hope I don't mess up the name.....Gulab Jamun. You won't be disappointed. I was blown away. It was such a great lunch. I have leftovers now for dinner too since the portions are generous. Because Shawn was so spot on about the Indian donuts, I had to try the rice pudding also. That too was another cold treat perfect on this warm day. Pakwan is a familiar name but there was nothing Pakwan about it. Service was good. Waitress was friendly. Food came on time. Ambiance was good but the restaurent could use some love. Restrooms werent that great. Interior was mediocre. No biggie. But the food was disappointing. Garlic Nans were great. Onion Kulcha wasnt good. Ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Kadhai. Both of them were made using "grilled chicken". I.e. not fresh chicken. I wouldnt call it biryani. It even tasted lemony for some reason. It is basically biryani rice mixed with some sauted chicken pieces and spices. I had such biryani about 15 years ago in california and never forgot how awful it was. This one beats that. The kadhai chicken wasnt real kadhai chicken. I guess we are probably the wrong target audience may be. They must be using frozen grilled chicken and make the tikka masalas, and butter chicken for the Indian food beginners. The chicken might suit those dishes but you just dont make biryani or any other dishes using grilled chicken. Anyways.. hope they take these pointers and use real chicken like they should. And also please stop calling that Biryani. read more

My boyfriend and I were nervous about entering this restaurant because it looked like it was closed, as there were no cars in the parking lot. We wanted to try it because we wanted to support local restaurants and were served raw chicken. The flavor was good, but the chicken was spongey and very raw. At this point, we had already ordered and unfortunately canceled our order because we ordered the entree chicken tikka masala, and we were both nervous that it would happen again. As a native New Yorker the bar is pretty high for Indian food. I did not like anything I tasted here except the paratha which is hard to ruin. Vegetable korma, butter rice, carrot shreds dessert, Indian coffee, all tasteless or oddly spiced. The coffee was really bitter. My friend ate curry lamb that every piece of lamb had bones in it and was tough. She asked for mild but got medium. The waiter clearly did not understand English and when we asked him if the entrees came with rice he said no, so we ordered rice and ended up with five plates of rice on the table, I had to ask to remove the extra rice from the check twice. Even the basmati rice wasn't very good. They did not clear the table for dessert. The bathroom was filthy. Would not return here. read more

We also tried the veget samosas and tive pudding for desert and it was a joy.
