When the smell met me at the door, I knew it was going to be a good night. We were at a table 2 minutes later, and had drinks 2 minutes after that, so things went right from the start. By the time my nose was accustomed to the aromas, there was food in front of me. Combo momos to start (the plain and fried are ok, chili are good, sandheko are amazing. Coconut curry, sandheko aloo (potatoes) and chicken followed - and did I mention the sandheko was amazing? We were in & out in 45 minutes, and timed things well, it really filled up by the time we were done. Parking lot is tiny, so may be a challenge, but we happened into a spot which may or may not have belonged to the neighboring business. But Indian-Nepali Kitchen is one of Seattle's most sought-after spots for affordable eats. But don't sleep on the rest of INK's broad menu of South Asian fare -- The Infatuation magazine even considers it to be one of the best restaurants in the city, full stop. INK shares a strip mall with a bodega and nail salon. Black cushioned chairs are pressed up to lacquered wood tables, and the tan walls are decorated with an assortment of cultural tchotchkes. Bollywood music videos play on the main dining room's single flatscreen, while images of Nepali mountain ranges flash on the screen in the accessory dining room. My partner and I dined at INK for weekday dinner on our drive up to the North Cascades, and we had the dining room to ourselves. Only a handful of takeout patrons rolled through during our visit. We kicked off our meal with the Mixed Appetizer. The Vegetable Pakora component was a consensus hit. The rich, crispy bites functioned well on their own and were fun conduits for the fragrant mint sauce and the tart tamarind sauce. In comparison, the samosas were forgettable, sporting overwhelmingly thick shells and hit-or-miss fillings. Of the three varieties, only the earthy ground lamb was worth finishing. Next, we tried the Combo Momo platter. Admittedly, the signature momos were surprisingly mediocre. Across the varieties, the wonton-like Fried Momo was the clear winner with its exciting texture without overpowering the delicate filling flavor. Meanwhile, the standard steamed momos tasted like something out of the frozen section, the Chili Momos were dominated by fast-food-quality sweet-and-sour sauce, and the Sandheko Momos had an unassuming, generally savory curry flavor (which was far outdone by the tangy side of house chutney). For our entree, we were very impressed by the Butter Curry Lamb. The thick curry broth was vibrant and dynamic; we sipped it by the spoonful. The tough lamb felt like an afterthought. The Garlic Basil Bread wasn't particularly basil-y, but the naan slices were pillowy, flaky, and addictively buttery. To drink, we shared an Iced Chai. The tea was more spiced than sweet; the average Starbucks patron might turn their nose up to it, but the light drink was a welcome contrast to the dense entrees. For dessert, we opted for the Gulab Jamun: the ping pong-sized cheese balls were deceptively dense, each packing a rich, syrupy punch. The service was quick and efficient, and our bill worked out to about $75 (after tax and tip). The flavors topped out at very good, but never quite achieved greatness. The portions were generous -- we probably could have done without the momos and still had a satisfyingly hearty meal. I went to Indian-Nepali Kitchen on a Wednesday for lunch and honestly it was such a good experience. The place was super clean and felt nice inside. Service was really good too, everyone was friendly and the food came out pretty fast. I ordered malai kofta, garlic naan, and fried momos. Everything was really, really good. The kofta was super soft and the gravy had this slightly tangy flavor that made it stand out. The garlic potato naan was big and fresh, and the momos were crispy and tasty. Portions were huge for the price, which was very reasonable. Overall just really flavorful food and a solid spot. I'd definitely go back to try other items on the menu. read more

Located south of Shoreline, Indian-Nepali Kitchen is a neighborhood gem that is worth the drive from any distance. I don't say this often. Despite their name, just order Nepali. I asked the server, and she said they are all Nepalese. Don't get me wrong; dishes in Nepal are commonly influenced by India, so I fully expect their Indian food to be good also. When in Rome though, eat what is theirs - Nepalese food with their own seasonings, spices, and preparations. The restaurant itself is in an older building; décor is basic with photos of Nepal sights. We were in Nepal a year and a half prior, so everything felt familiar. Plenty of space for all group sizes. They have their own parking lot. Their menu is vast. Our server was patient as we browsed through their novella-like menu. Their food is genuinely excellent. They have plenty of spicy and non-spicy dishes. Their prices are very reasonable. Theirs is loaded with golden garlic at an excellent price. Both the lamb and chicken entrees are served with rice. We stuffed ourselves with naan instead. Our last visit was at the previous location back on 3/5/24. We finally had parking karma and the opportunity to revisit Indian-Nepali Kitchen at their current North Seattle location on 3/22/26. We visited during that in between time frame where it was the mid afternoon and tail end of the lunch service. Restaurant staff also were sitting down for their family meal too. It took awhile to peruse the entire menu. There are so many items of interest, but as this was the first meal of the day, we also wanted leftovers to take home. The interior pretty much stayed the same when the location used to be a long time fave, Indo Cafe. If anything, there are more and newer tables in the dining areas. For beverages, we ordered two hot chais and one mango lassi. The latter is really tasty. We'll stick with the bottomless chai at our favorite Indian spot in the UDistrict. We also shared the ten piece chicken steamed momos with momo dipping chutney. These were outstanding. Tender wrapper and flavorful savory filling. For the main entrees, I chose the goat-in curry. This was very flavorful (albeit a tad salty) and generous with the succulent, tender goat. The Homie ordered the shahi paneer curry, but ended up with saag paneer. I offered to pay for both, but the server had the kitchen prep the shahi curry, but charged for only one entree. That was amazing customer service! The entrees all came with basmati rice, but The Homie also ordered a garlic naan. Decent, but again we prefer the garlic naan version at our favorite Indian spot in the UDistrict. To wrap up this tasty meal, we shared an order of gulab jamun. This was absolutely on point. We were also amused that the flat screens in the dining area had a travel reel on repeat featuring Norway?! This was a surprise hit! We absolutely loved the garlic naan. It was so unique. The momo sampler was just okay. I know everyone raves about these but they looked more impressive than they tasted. We grabbed takeout for Christmas Eve dinner, and wow -- what a great last-minute decision. Everything was super flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The tandoori momo are a standout and easily one of my favorites: perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a bold, well-balanced masala flavor. The Malai Chicken (my first time trying it) was incredible -- rich, tender, and full of depth. We also loved the garlic basil naan, which was perfectly cooked and such a great match for all the gravy-rich dishes. If I had to nitpick, the only downside was the Chicken Tikka Masala -- the chicken was on the dry/tough side; it seemed like chicken breast was used, which isn't my favorite choice for a dish like this. That said, the sauce itself was still tasty. I also enjoyed the Nepali aloo and tomato achars for that extra heat! Overall, excellent food and a really good value. So delicious and such a great price!!! I love the homey atmosphere and all the options that they offer. This restaurant is incredibly charming and provides the perfect spot for a dinner out. They have message chairs in the front for those waiting, a slide show that displays all their dishes with transitions, and some mis-matched decorations. All of this comes together to create a silly but just perfect atmosphere. My partner and I visited recently and got similar things both times! We tried the matar parneer which came with a huge bowl of rice and we ordered garlic nan to go with it. The flavors were just right and I was extremly happy with the portion! We got Nepali Dhal Bhaat with Goat, it comes with rice, lentils, greens, and dessert. We liked the thali, the goat curry was very good. We got Sekuwa on the recommendation of our waitress and loved it. I got Sekuwa with Chicken, it includes spicy puffed rice (similar to bhelpuri) and Chicken marinated and cooked in the tandoor. So grateful for my best friend, a local to Seattle, for dragging me here on a day I wasn't feeling particularly hungry. I've been to this location before when it was Indo Cafe, but for some reason the space feels cozier now as Indian-Nepali Kitchen. Maybe it has to do with the red and black colors of the walls and carpet, but I can't remember how those were before. Service was great, as multiple different workers checked on us the right amount. Water was refilled when needed, and everyone working was very nice. Everything on the menu sounded good. We ended up getting the combo momo chicken and chicken house curry. I'll have to come back again and try more items. The chicken house curry was served in a metal bowl and came with a separate packed bowl of rice. It was a thin and soupy kind of curry. The combo momo were decent sized and had 4 different kinds (3 each) plus some sauce. The sandheko ones are the yellow/orange color, while the chili ones are red. My favorites were the sandheko and chili ones, but the other 2 (fried and steamed) were good as well. I think I might like momos better than Chinese dumplings now after trying these. The dumplings I've tried from Kathmandu MoMoCha's food truck were much smaller and more expensive than the ones here. The only reason I can't give all 5 stars is because I have a hard time justifying paying over $18 for chicken curry, even though that's probably standard for the area. There wasn't enough meat in the curry, but the momos were definitely worth it. I would give the momos alone 5 stars, so this place is closer to 4.5 stars for me. read more

When I first bookmarked the restaurant, my mind was like, this is pretty close to Seattle proper but did not realize it would be a 30 min drive up near Northgate, but apparently they did change the location. No problem, it was worth the drive. We got chicken momos combo, jhol momo (chicken), and chicken chow mein. I also got the mango lassi that is nicely sweet and hearty. All of these were nicely spiced and the right amount of spiciness that I can enjoy. The chicken momos combo had 3 each of 4 different kinds of momos - steamed, fried, sadheko, and chili. I liked the sadheko quite a lot in terms of the ingredients and spices, but I always enjoy the original ones dipped in the sauce. The fried momo is quite hearty, and the chili one smelled and tasted a bit like a sweet and sour momo which I personally don't prefer but it was still delicious. The jhol momo had a nice broth that was decently spicy but very flavorful, along with hearty pieces of momos. It was not part of the chicken momos combo so we got this to try a wider range of momos. I still liked the chicken momos combo more for the variety. Chicken chow mein here has Indian spices, so it is their own take of a traditionally Chinese dish. This one is definitely more spicy and flavorful, and it was a nice experience to try that out. Prices are pretty good. The size of the momos is quite large, and you get a good quantity of them. For me, about 6-8 momos filled me up so the rest were easily leftovers for me to enjoy the following day. Service is fairly good as well - they brought a large jug of water to more conveniently fill waters for our table, and the food did not take too long to arrive. Overall, I enjoyed this dinner and would be my go-to fix for momos and other Indian/Nepalese food. read more

Everything was absolutely delicious, but the Chicken Combo Momos stole the show--juicy, flavorful, and generously filled. Good food but nothing to rave about. Came in here for dinner over the weekend for my first time and was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty packed! It's a small quaint spot and people kept packing in all night! We ordered the vegetable pakora and fried momos to share. The pakora was a hit! But the momos were ok, was hoping for a little more flavor for the filling. The sauce to dip in was good though. I had the dal bhat which I loved having almost daily when I previously visited Nepal, however the lentils were very bland and the accompanying veggies were just ok. I tried the veal with it too which was good but once again nothing to rave about. The rice pudding felt a little too watered down to my liking as well. The momos were soo homey and warm! My favorite was the chicken sandheko momos! The red onion topping was absolutely addicting. The garlic Basil naan was perfectly made, but I didn't care for the addition of the basil -- I'd order traditional garlic naan next time. The tamarind and mint sauces were good, as was the rice. Now, the experience: The restaurant is in kind of a middling strip mall on north Aurora -- not bad, but not a place you look at and think you can't wait to try it. I walked in and I was immediately enveloped with a wonderful aroma of beautiful cooking. The restaurant is very nice -- cozy and nicely lit. Not fancy, but comfortable and inviting. I'd like to eat in sometime soon. An employee greeted me at the door and went for my order. When the bag came the order ticket was stapled to the side and each item in the order was checked off individually, which told me that it was double checked and the order was complete and correct. (When I got home I found out it was.) We've cycled through all the other Indian options in north Seattle, and we'd kind of given up on finding Indian and Nepali food we liked. Until now. I didn't realize Indian Nepali kitchen had moved. I ordered and then set my GPS to navigate me because I couldn't remember the cross streets. But somewhere around 125th street I started thinking, "shouldn't I be there by now." Their new location is bigger and less sketchy than the prior location (if that was a deterrent for you). I will say the parking lot is not for the faint of heart. Tiny stalls, right on aurora with not a lot of room to maneuver & turn around. I would park in the lot one address before or one address after. Anyway, the food is just as tasty! On my second visit I branched out into the more traditional Nepali Special menu and it really knocked my socks off. The gundruk and Aloo Rayoko were so flavorful. This place lives up to the hype! Located in an unassuming strip mall type building right off Aurora, you'd expect it to be a little grungy but it's not at all. Very nice, clean space that was bigger than I expected. It was busy but not packed on a Friday evening, with a nice family kind of crowd. Service was fast and courteous. The momos are so comforting and tasty and the portions are very generous. I recently read an article about the death of middle class restaurants, and think this is a big issue in Seattle. But this is totally that; a really good, reasonably priced restaurant where you can have a good solid casual meal with friends and family. read more

Amazing Indian/Nepali cuisine in Greenwood, may not necessarily a "hidden" gem now that it got picked up by some news outlets this year :) We tried a couple of the recommendations. The tandoori momo is excellent, and I've never experienced a yogurt-marinated wrapper and it was so divine and added nuance (more dumplings/momos should do this!). We also got the garlic naan, which was some of the best garlic naan I've ever had. The extra hit from the herbs was fantastic, and it was packed with flavor and charred to crispy perfection with a generous slick of ghee. We also got the house curry with tofu. It had a nice rich broth, although could have used an extra wave of spices and flavor. However, compared to your average Indian restaurant this was still stellar. Samosas were decent! Pretty standard but good. Same goes for mango lassi. The aspect of our meal we enjoyed the most were the momos. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you're in the area! read more

This place has quickly become my new favorite. I think I have been twice in the space of a month. I've always been fascinated by Nepalese food as I find momos to be one of the best foods ever, but they are not as easy to find as I would like. I noticed this place when driving by randomly, immediately checked out the menu and added it to my to do list. Now that I have been a couple times I keep telling everyone about it. I can't wait to go back already and I was just there on Friday. One day I will try some of the Indian dishes. I can't quite figure out if this place has it's own parking spots, but we have been parking in the neighborhood and walking over, it also gives us a good excuse to stop by the brewery nearby. Inside is not incredibly fancy, but lots of seats with tables that seem a little too wide. It always seems to have a lot of people dining in and lots of people coming/going with take out. It has not been incredibly fast, but good food can not be rushed. I really appreciate how the dine in menu labels the vegan options. Its a little bit hard to tell them from the online menu, but I emailed ahead of my first visit and got a very detailed response back. On my first visit I could not decide which momo to try and of course the server suggested the combo platter, great call. I got to try all 4, I think the sandheko were my favorite, I also liked the fried ones, but the chili were a tad too spicy for me. I also have been loving the Qwanti (mixed bean soup), my partner and I are able to share this. They could do with some better soup serving spoons, but other than that we manage to slurp down every bite. I also really liked the Aloo-Badi-Tami, I love bamboo shoots and wish they were in more food. My partner liked his goat dish. There are still a million things I want to try. Prices are reasonable. We plan to try the Nepalese beer next time. read more

I've been twice for momos because I love momos and cannot find anywhere else in Seattle that even comes close! Really fantastic Nepali dumpling goodness. We tried the sampler and honestly we just stuck with the plain steamed ones the second time around. The dipping sauce is great you don't need anything else! We also get the sekuwa dish and it's pretty good, don't really love the puffed rice but it's a fun dish that's different from what you typically see. Get the momo's!!! read more
