My fiance and I went with another couple to try The Himalayan Hut. The staff was friendly and every patient with all the questions we asked about the menu. We got the samosa and both pakoras for appetizers and there was more than enough for the four of us. All four entrees were stunning and cooked perfectly to the level of heat we wanted. Our waiter even brought out a little bowl of the every hot for us to try. They have a wide variety of spirits and few different types of beer, they also have every cost friendly bottles of wine (around $18 a bottle). We waited a while for this place to open and haven't been disappointed! The staff is always pleasant and attentive. The lunch buffet is good with the standard fare (palek paneer, chicken tikka masala, etc.). The buffet also caters to a milder palette, but if spice is your thing then you can get it on the full menu. Once they settle in and build the business it will help the atmosphere I believe (I'm reviewing based on food) and if they played some sort of background music it would help in that regard. We had high hopes for quality Indian food near our home so tried Himalayan Hut tonight. Saffron has been our "go to" place. I don't get the comments about interior decor being nice. It was Meh at best. Our service was slow, and the food was tasty, however sweeter than we are accustomed to. The cloves and cinnamon spices were much more prominent. I have eaten here twice and this last time was a BIG let down. The first time was the lunch buffet which had a large variety and even offered a to go cup for soup. Good flavors but a fairly small portion for about $14 with tax. I ordered take out last night due to Covid. I paid $20 for an order of tikka massala ($13.50!) and garlic naan ($3). The naan was thick and unflavored, burnt on one side. The TM came with a generous portion of basmati rice and a pitiful portion of actual entree. It wasn't even enough for two people for $13.50. The flavor was not what I remember from the buffet and almost tasted diluted. I will not order again, and probably won't suggest it. read more

Really nice staff and the food was beautifully plated. I'm not someone who has Indian food often, but I love the taste of my lamb dish.

I ordered carry out from this restaurant for 7 people, so there were a lot of items to be accounted for. When I got home, I discovered that one of our dishes was missing (which happens sometimes with the amount of food we ordered), so I called the restaurant and they told me I could come back and pick up the dish. I got back to the restaurant about 10 minutes later and they already had my missing dish waiting for me, AND they threw in a free order of delicious samosas and an extra container of basmati rice! This is how business should be done. I can't tell you how many times I've experienced the same problem ordering carry out and one (or more) of the dishes was missing and when I went back to pick it up, absolutely no compensation was given to me for the extra trouble and hassle I had to go through to come back and get it, meanwhile the rest of my food is at home getting cold. I believe that to keep customers, the restaurant should somehow compensate you for their mistakes, which Himalayan Hut totally did. Plus, all the food was delicious!
