Wanted a variety of options to try, so started with samosas before adding different types of chicken dishes and breads. I asked for the dishes to be 8 out of 10 for heat - and oh boy were they spicy! But the spice was enough to give the dishes some delicious taste. I sprinkled some mango chutney to add some sweetness. Bread was soft. Service was good - waiter always made sure my water glass was full. The interior decor represents some of the attractions of Nepal. All in all, I can't wait to go again to try some more spicy dishes.

We had the garlic butter naan, lamb curry, saag paneer, & chana masala, & all were delicious. The place is clean, which is really important to me. I'd come here again.

Food:10/10 for my order. Service: Friendly and welcoming! Ambiance: Super, it looks tiny, but it is great. It is a great place to taste the Himalayan food!

They will give you the cheapest quality paper plate, the cheapest and thinnest spoons ever one can imagine. And then they will fill the entire chicken vindaloo with potatoes. No wonder why they are falling these days.

Walked by this place and decided to give it a shot! It didn't disappoint any one of us. My son cannot handle spicy food, so this place was perfect for him as you can order your food with the level of spiciness from 1 to 10. We ordered mango lassi, lamb and chicken momos, and non vegetarian Thali, which came with a meat curry of your choice(chicken, lamb, or goat), naan, rice, daal, and paneer, and rice pudding at dessert. Everything was simply delicious. The naan was particularly memorable, as I've never had such yummy naan before. It came straight from the oven, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The price may seem like they r on the higher side, but the portions are just huge! They do have indoor and outdoor dining. All tables were spaced out 6 ft apart. The server was very helpful. If we ever visit again, we are coming back to this place!

We came for the buffet but they'd stopped offering it due to the Covid19 pandemic. Understandably. I decided to instead order my favorites. Tandoori chicken, saag paneer and chicken tikka masala. My husband and I devoured everything. Truly some of the best saag paneer I've had and same with the tikka masala. This was our first time trying Himalayan Kitchen in SB in State Street. We couldn't find another Indian restaurant we'd previously fined at. I think they closed- so we were thrilled to discover this gem! Highly recommend. It was excellent!

When I came with a friend for dinner, it was pretty empty (but again it was a Monday night) and most people got takeout. They have outdoor and indoor tables which are very distanced!! the place is really COVID safe I got the non-vegetarian special thali with chicken. I thought you would be able to choose the vegetarian dish that comes with it but it actually just comes with saag paneer (maybe you can ask to sub though?) The menu says it comes with sliced cucumbers and achar but unfortunately didn't see any on the plate ): The chicken curry was utterly DELICIOUS (5/5) and you can get it spicy or regular (spice 1-10). I got 5 and it wasn't too spicy so I'd get a 7 or so next time. overall super flavorful. Saag paneer was sooo creamy and seasoned so well (I'd also rate 5/5) The daal was also nice but not my favorite (4/5) The rice was a bit dry for my liking but the dish also comes with naan which I prefer anyways so it wasn't a big deal. You also get rice pudding which has a chai like flavor and isn't overly sweet.

Chana masala bus down for a real one. It tastes so buttery soft and good flavor and good rice yayy. The portion is good for a good filling one person meal. I really like the interior and the servers r nice and i would come again

They were open on Thanksgiving day, which was a winner for us since we were staying in the general area. The service here was great and the food was as expected for Nepalese/Himalayan. Chicken momos were really good, although a tiny bit oily. We had the chicken tikka masala, the paneer, some naan and the mixed grill. The mixed grill was quite a dish - think of it as a Nepalese fajitas dish.

Love love love! Found this gem on Yelp on a roadtrip from LA to the bay. My bestie and I were craving chicken tikka masala and Himalayan Kitchen was perf! Located in the heart of SB. Took about 5 minutes to get to the restaurant from the 101. Located on State St. in Santa Barbara, which can be pretty busy, so park on one of the smaller streets and take a little stroll to the restaurant. Came here on a Saturday around 3PM. We were greeted and seated as soon as we got there since it wasn't too busy. Ordered two orders of the chicken tikka masala since we like different amounts of spice. It comes with basmati rice and we got an order of garlic nan. We also ordered the cheese pakora which was a tad bit bland, but we were starving so we ate it lol! We both left feeling satisfied with happy tummys! Would definitely come back when Im back in SB!

Welcome to flavor town! We took my neighbor and husband here for her birthday. None of us are very experienced Indian food eaters but we love adventure! The curb appeal and inside isn't much to be excited for but the food is jam packed with delicious seasoning. Unfortunately they were out of Yak when we asked, so instead we go the Lamb Momos. Delish starter. The best part was the sauce that came with them. And for someone that can't handle spice it had no kick! So I got to enjoy it. We all ordered something of a different style. I had the Tse Phing (vegetable mung bean noodles) which was light and easy on the tummy, which is my style. If you want to go heavier I'd go for the chow chow, made with thicker noodles. I'd call it an Indian take on spaghetti or Chow Mein. I loved that dish too. My fiancé got the Mixed Sekuwa which came out almost a half hour after ours...not fun to watch other people eat, but he was a good sport. But man, It was well worth the wait! It came out sizzling and made quite the entrance. It had all the types of meat over sweet caramel used onions. I was hovering over his food after once it arrived. We also had garlic Naan which was a great addition to soak up all the left over juices from our meals. We did have lots of left overs since portions are bountiful! Gotta love left overs :) You definitely pay a pretty penny and don't get that great of service. But I'd say it's worth it for the authenticity and quantity of the food. This place definitely has me interested in trying more Indian cuisine.

There was no spinach, there were no carrots. It was literally a very small bowl of rice with dal over it. The vegetables were the size of peas, it there was any at all. I gave 3 stars because the server was nice. This is the description on their online menu which has a photo and it looked nothing like the photo. "Khichadi is a classic comfort food with healing Ayurvedic properties. This one pot meal is prepared with brown basmati rice, organic moong & masoor dals, fresh organic baby spinach, shredded carrots, fresh ginger, garlic and aromatic spices." It was very bland as well. I asked for mild but I still wanted flavor and a mild spiciness . . . I had to add salt, it was so bland. The naan bread was $4 for a super flat small round of naan. I like a fluffier thicker naan. I returned the naan and was not charged for it. I might have come back if they had charged me $12 which is the price of their soup but they took off a tip of 15% which they actually added. Not cool. I am used to India Sweets and Spices in Woodland Hills where you get " a "a large scoop of 3 different entrees, a scoop of basmati rice, a scoop of lemon rice, a pakora, a samosa, and a full naan bread" for $13.99. It makes three meals.

The samosas are a must, and I almost always order the bowl combo, which comes with your choice of one entrée and basmati rice, then add the garlic naan because it is perfectly pillowy and way too easy to finish. Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo are both heavy on my rotation, so clearly I know what I like. The portions are generous, everything travels well, and the prices are reasonable. And I need to mention their drinks because I'm slightly obsessed with the iced chai and mango lassi. Both are very much part of the order now. I've also eaten here in person, and the cozy, casual atmosphere makes it a great neighborhood spot for a quick meal or takeout. Only street parking, but honestly, I'll circle the block for good Indian food. Open 3 to 9 pm daily, closed Tuesdays.

We had people in our group with nut and gluten allergies and we had a vegan and pescatarian. They were able to accommodate EVERY dietary restriction and everything remained DELICIOUS. For starters, we ordered the MOMO dumplings: one veggie and one mutton. Both flavors were incredibly flavorful and I loved the orange dipping sauce it came with - it paired perfectly with it! For my main, I got LAMB SAAG. It was my very first time trying this and I was not disappointed in the slightest! Incredible flavor, great portion size. The entrees do not come with rice so I also ordered a side of white rice that went very well with the dish. For the table, we ordered KEEM NAAN, CHEESE NAAN, and GARLIC NAAN - all of them tasted great with everyone's dishes as well (if you choose to not get rice, the naan is perfect with the entree). As a lovely sweet treat, we received plates of watermelon at the very end! The perfect palette cleanser and so refreshing In terms of parking, it was a little tricky but not impossible! Definitely get there early to find parking, or try your luck searching for street parking (the street parking is free!). The total for our meal of 8 people was: ~$366, not including tip and every person got a drink (cocktails, teas, and lassis). I feel this price is an AMAZING bang for your buck, especially for a group of 8 people!! I absolutely intend to return here, it was a wonderful experience!
