The Malai Kofta, which is a vegetarian dish where balls (kofta) made of potato and paneer are deep fried and served with a creamy and spiced tomato based curry, was the best I've ever had. I ordered dinner for take out on valentines for my family of 6! They warned me about the hour and a half wait time which I thought was nice. When we arrived there was an organized pick up line. They would go down the line asking your name and checking in the back to make sure that your order was in progress. Once your order was closer to being ready to take, they would pull you to the front and you would pay for your order. Everything I ordered was there and made correctly including some gluten-free items I ordered. I was very happy with their service, their food , overall organization during the COVID 19 restrictions. Came here last night and had a great experience/meal. We had a party of 9 and the service was great. We had 5 separate checks and they gladly took our orders separately. We got a lentil soup appetizer complementary too which was delicious. Food: I got the mild chicken tikka masala. It was delicious and full of flavor. You have option to choose from white or brown rice. My friend got the soy chicken and loved it - chicken pieces with a spicy sauce and came with broccoli. I've been here a few times on lunch from work, and every single time I've been pleased with my culinary experience. They are conveniently located in the Windsor Town Green, they have both indoor and outdoor dining, and have menu considerations for various dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and low sodium. I always order the Chicken Tikka Masala lunch special, which comes with a delicious daal soup, salad with mango dressing, rice (I choose brown), and naan. My only qualm is the spice. My first visit, I chose medium spicy because I wasn't sure what I was in for. The second time I chose spicy, because medium wasn't much, but upon tasting the "spicy", it was almost identical to the previous medium. I'm not sure if they think I can't handle it, but baby, I like it, give it to me HOT!!! Prices seem slightly higher than what I'm used to for Himalayan, but not by much, and I think they make up for it by being super friendly, the whole restaurant is spotless clean, and they serve lunch really quickly, which is a bonus for me and others on a short lunch break. Their lassi drinks are frothy and refreshing, and oh goodness, is their kheer amazing. I wished I had ordered my own, but alas, I had to share mine with my dining companion. Himalayan makes food that is truly delicious and authentic! I cannot say enough good things... Serving staff is courteous and polite. Rare to see now a days... Very wonderful meal here. It was cold outside and their lentil soup was brothy and warm and full of a bright cumin flavor - all vegetarian. My hubby and I each got a soup, plus a side of butter Naan bread and then we split an order of mixed kabobs (chicken, salmon, lamb). The 2 sauces that came with it were great - one was yogurt-based and white and the other was an orange-y color - no idea what it was but it was really great on the kabobs. It also came with basmati rice - a large serving. Everything was delicious. The only thing I felt was missing was vegetables on the kebab plate. I'm used to kebabs having onions or peppers with it. Tried this place for the first time tonight. Had the tikka masala with prawns, manchurian chicken, and garlic cilantro naan. All of the dishes were delicious, but a little under seasoned. There are salt shakers on the table, so that was easily fixed. The atmosphere is relaxing. We were there on a Monday night, and it was pretty quiet. We have dined here many times at Himalayan Restaurant supporting our local businesses. Unfortunately the service is not great. It needs work on staff to be polite and to communicate better. It's important to check to make sure the customers need anything after serving the main dish. The owner needs develop his own communication skills and listening skills with his customers . It's important to be polite and understanding to your customers otherwise you will receive a bad review. The owner became argumentative and stood on being correct without compassion or apologetic. The waitress made a mistake and misunderstood my wife 's order and would not accept the mistake. She never came back to serve us once questioned or to apologize for the misunderstanding. The owner abruptly took over serving our table and was a little argumentative but quickly gave my wife the lunch special that she had ordered. Unfortunately it was not with kindness but as if she did something wrong. He quickly put the food down and went his way without a peep, smile or kindness. The waitress stood in the back and gave my wife a dirty look. . My wife felt very uncomfortable. The owner ignorantly belittled my wife's feelings when she spoke by telling her no need to express anything or make a big deal about it .
