a piece of meat on a piece of paper

Awesome butcher shop! I ordered ten pounds of beef short ribs a few days ahead of time and they were all cut and waiting for me when I arrived on December 24. The meat was beautifully marbled, succulent, fresh and lots of flavor with not even a hint of metallic taste that you would get in a supermarket. I cooked them in a crock pot overnight and the food was amazing! Highly recommend this old-fashioned shop.

*Note - review is not based on purchase. Three stars for now but subject to chance once we are able to buy something and try them out. See the picture attached to this review - In person orders no longer allowed, so you will need to call in your order. Recommend checking the website for specials and call for what's in stock. I plan on placing an order in the coming weeks and will update then!

Was referred by my husband's orthopedic, who is nearby, to come and try their homemade burger meat. Finally got there and I have to stay it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. Taste like I got it from a high-end restaurant. I will definitely come back to try some other meats! I only gave it four stars because I haven't gotten anything else there but once I do, I'll update my review.

    Baked Bacon...Oh My !!!

Just stopped in to order our Thanksgiving turkey, gravy and homemade sausage to include in the stuffing, as they have the freshest birds in town...And there it was, "baked bacon" being sliced and I hadn't had lunch yet. Waiting to finish this review then heading down to kitchen to devour the remaining lbs I have wrapped up. I knew 2lbs was just the right amount :)

Great butcher shop + so much more

This is my go-to butcher - even though they are not close to my house, its worth the drive.

Soooo, we went to Embark tonight for the second time. Full disclosure, the first time Wifey and I…read morecame here was when they first opened, we came kind of late and we didn't have the best experience, but I PROMISED myself I'd come back before reviewing because I honestly believed I just hit them on a bad night. Had a good friend recently tell me I needed to come back, so we did. Tonight we ordered a half rack of ribs, a pulled pork sandwich, and the pulled pork Mac-n-cheese. In a word, the food was fantastic. I've had BBQ in a LOT of places and also have my own smoker that I've gotten pretty good at using it so I know good BBQ...and this is good BBQ. The ribs were delicious - cooked perfectly the way the want them in competition...not fall off the bone, but with a little bite, and the flavor was great. Amazing bark on the outside with tender meat on the bone. The pulled pork sandwich was so tender and delicious that I wish I didn't have to share it with Wifey. And their homemade BBQ sauce is absolutely great...a little spice on the back of the tongue, but still sweet without being overly sweet (they have four kinds, but I only wanted the traditional). The pulled pork Mac-n-cheese was very rich but full of flavor with a nice breadcrumb topping as well. Each platter also came with cole slaw, something often overlooked by BBQ places, but not here. Very tasty, very fresh, though I think it needed a pinch of salt. I do wish we had gotten some cornbread, but honestly, we walked away very full. The service here is super friendly and our food came pretty quickly...and I really love the layout and vibe here. I spoke to the owner about how much I loved the food tonight and how it was such a difference from my first experience. I'm so glad we came back. The people behind the counter all seem to LIKE what they're doing...and that means a lot. Real BBQ places are always pricey, because you aren't paying for just the food, your paying for the hours and hours and hours of cooking it takes to get the food to taste as good as it does and to be tender. You can't take shortcuts with BBQ. So yeah, Embark isn't cheap, but if there's one thing I've discovered over the years it's that you DON'T want cheap BBQ. Embark is a BYOB place so bring your favorite beer, order some great food, and sit with friends savoring the deliciousness. I will NOT wait this long to come back again.

A friend recommended Embark a few days before I visited. When I arrived, I wasn't super hungry…read moresince I had just come from a Yelp Elite event up the road at Catfight Coffee. There is a decent amount of seating, although there were more takeout orders at the time I visited. It's very clean inside and decorated nicely. I ordered the 2-meat sampler with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was awesome, super tender and packed with flavor. The BBQ sauce really complemented the meats. The pulled pork was also very good, but the brisket was definitely the star. The mac and cheese was just okay. The breadcrumbs on top made the mac and cheese a bit soggy. Portions were a bit small for the price. Overall, I thought my meal was good but I would definitely come back just for that brisket.

You know how there are certain foods and smells that just make you start salivating immediately?…read more Well, the thought of the sandwiches at Meat House do that to me. The first time I went, I had their Supreme BLT. The name sounds a bit lofty and is perhaps a bit pedestrian to some, but I have to say, it's far and above the best version I've ever had. Thick warm bacon, cool lettuce and tomatoes, avocado, and a delicious garlicky aioli. I ate it in my car and must have been a real sight to see, because I practically made love to that thing. It was that good. The second time I went, I opted for their Cuban. Again, the best version of that sandwich I've ever had. This thing was like an orgasm on bread. I don't even know where to start, but suffice it to say that all the ingredients were exploding like a symphony of savory wonder. Thank goodness no one filmed me eating it, that would definitely have been embarrassing. On top of the incredible sandwich menu at Meat House, they also offer a pretty impressive assortment of groceries, a custom salad bar, fantastic butcher counter with steaks and chops galore, beer and wine, etc. Sort of feels like a specialty market on steroids. I highly recommend a visit, particularly for one of their epic sandwiches!

This is a nice one-stop shop filled with a huge variety of items. We were able to score alcoholic ciders, seasonings for unreasonably cheap prices, and more. There's everything from pasta and sauce to countless snacks. We left with armfuls of items because we couldn't resist. At incredible prices, this shop is certainly one to visit for pantry staples alone.
