I brought my vintage 1989 Trans Am GTA In for some minor cosmetic repairs. Hinshaw's did such a good job matching the paint that people who see it say that the car looks great! Truck was brought over on a warranty job through Doxon Toyota. Doxon has worked on my truck prior and seemingly handled it well. However i have never dealt with Hinshaw Auto Body on any sort of project prior to this job. Highlighting the pros of this job; paint itself was matched well and seemingly done correctly. Even went above and beyond (to my knowledge) and painted the hood which was not on the service bulletin to be warrantied. They were fairly open to me seeing the process and answering my questions if anything came up throughout. Unfortunately with any pros came multiple cons; starting with body pieces being incorrectly put back, gouging tint on all four windows without telling me, breaking headlight electrical plugs, lack of cleanliness (buffing compound all over the truck, some of which stained parts unrelated to the project), etc. Although a few of these items were corrected, others were slacked on. Overall i am disappointed in the service that was highly spoken of from Doxon Toyota. I would normally recommend body shops, dealers, companies, etc. But in this case it is nearly impossible to do so. I would hope in the future this can help customers be aware of what can potentially happen to your vehicle here and provide feed back for Hinshaw Auto Body to be more attentive going forward. read more

I went to Hinshaw's because my usual shop was so behind, and not returning my calls. I needed the back L qtr panel fixed - trim and all as well as other side of bumper. They got me in fairly quickly, helped with my rental and kept in touch with me all along the process of fixing my Cadillac. It had been hit twice, and when they were finished, you'd never know. Beautiful job! They actually gave me an estimate $1075.00 less than my usual place - which was for work on two other cars before this one. Luis is the estimator who kept me in the loop the entire time. He's great! I brought my car here because of their boasts for attention to detail and quality. Unfortunately the level of care is not where it should have been for my vehicle. First they scheduled my car when they did not have enough technician's to start the work. The claims manager told me as much and he hadn't even looked at my car in the first week. They took 25 days for a job other shops quoted 10. The paint match was mediocre due to the painter using too much metal flake. They rushed the job and put four scratches in the trim, roof rack, clear coat and the interior. They tried to return the car filthy inside and out. White compound was all over the dash, seats and floor mats. Tape residue and compound on the exterior. The sunroof was calibrated by a shop that didn't know what they were doing so it didn't function properly. I rejected the car and asked them to correct the problem. They wanted to argue with me that it wasn't the calibration, then tried to put a supplement into the insurance for sunroof rails replacement. Even though I told them the sunroof had worked perfectly until they had worked on it. Ended up being the calibration after all. I took possession of my vehicle the second time around. I found the scratches afterwards. They said I could bring the car in to resolve the scratches. Honestly I don't want to take my car back. I managed to remove two scratches and to minimize a third. My experience was disappointing and I wish I had gone elsewhere. If you have a skilled team you can let their work speak for itself. I will say the folks at Hinshaw are very nice people. I originally gave them more stars but after the part they fixed started falling off my car I brought it back thinking maybe they forgot a screw, easy fix I still needed them to put on my protective film, and they said no problem bring it in! I brought it and they said someone hit my car and that's why it was falling off... no one hit my car I went over a bump on the freeway and it popped off, which shouldn't have happened to my brand new car if they fixed it correctly. and still did not replace my protective film. mind you the car was fine until they had to take the bumper off and put it back on since they placed it on a wire causing me to have no tail lights for a time. I have had three occasions, on three different vehicles to utilize Hinshaw Auto Repair. The first vehicle had extensive damage due to being side-swiped on a snow covered street. It was amazing how Hinshaw was able to repair this vehicle to the degree that it was impossible to locate any damage. The other two vehicles were repaired with a minimum of inconvenience and cost. Hinshaw's did not use Toyota parts and my bumper sagged. Five trips back and it is not fixed yet. This has been a nightmare.

So I must say when I got the phone call that my car had been hit I wasn't to excited about it. I also was told that my car had a scratch on it. When I got to it there was a hole in the bumper, headlight was busted, and there was damage to the hood and fender. I was dreading the fact of setting up estimates and getting a loaner car. I drive for a living and it just did not seem like a lot of fun. Thank god for Hinshaws and Geico. Its been the best experience ever When I arrived this morning there were two people claims guys waiting for me and my rental car was already there and the paperwork was done. It took all of 15 mins to do everything. Plus all the work Hinshaws does is guaranteed for life. By three O'clock I had a phone call letting me know what the damage was and that it would be ready on Monday. They have excellent customer service and are very on top of there stuff. read more

Was convenient to rent a car from them at a decent rate without having to provide an income statement, utility bill, credit card (non check card) and my first born child....like enterprise rent a car does. So I read through some of the reviews and I can't imagine they went to the same place that I went to this past week. I had an accident and the insurance company helped me pick an auto body repair shop, so when I went to Hinshaws they had already called me and helped ease my anxiety of what to do next. I arrived with my car, walked in, and was greeted with smiles. They called the rental car place for me, who arrived within minutes, and overall I waited less than 10 minutes to check the car in with Craig. It took two days, but I was out of town and had to pick the car up after the Memorial Day Weekend and was able to leave the rental car with them, they literally took care of everything. I'm in awe! CRAIG IS THE MAN by the way, and I am so impressed. He was kind to me, was very patient while I was a bit shaken after having been in a recent accident, and did incredible work. I looked at the area in bright light and could NOT tell where the original damage was in the slightest. It is perfect. I have a very bright yellow little car, so any slight damage or dirt shows up, so this is remarkable. My car arrived back to me spotless inside and out, which it hasn't been since I purchased it. I am extremely impressed and I wasn't charged any storage fees or anything additional, so some of the other reviews are a little confusing. Either way, I had a GREAT experience all the way around and I will remain a loyal customer, and considering I've now been hit twice, they may see me again as drivers in my area think we are playing bumper cars! read more

We took our pick-up truck in for some minor body work that was supposed to take only four days. Since we were going to be out of town for a week, we dropped it off the Friday before we left, which left them six business days to do the work. We received a call the following Wednesday from Georgie stating that she had "misplaced" the paperwork so the work hadn't even started yet! When we called the following Monday (day seven), we were told that they needed the truck for a few more days, which meant that we had to get a rental car. Not only did we have to deal with setting up the rental but we also had to pay the deposit, fill the tank and pay the balance that insurance didn't cover - all of which should have been paid by Hinshaw's since it was clearly their fault that we had to get the rental in the first place. All total, we paid $139 out of our pocket. We get another call on Wednesday telling us that the truck still wasn't ready because they had received the incorrect decal. By this point, they had our truck for nine days and it still wasn't ready. We ended up picking it up on Thursday, with the decal "still on order". The body work that was done was sufficient but thanks to the lack of communication and overall experience, we will never go back! read more

I made an appt at this body shop because my cousin recommended them. My appt was 12pm. I got there at 12:09 and apologized for being late for my appt. the receptionist said it would be a while. So I politely said thank you sat down. There were people there before me with and without an appt. As I was waiting I noticed several people showed up without an appt as they stated this to the receptionist. The adjuster Georgie tended to these people before me. She had yet to acknowledge me for waiting almost an hour. At 12:50 I asked when I would be seen. The receptionist said I was next, but I wasn't. The adjusted helped two other people and finally I decided to get up and leave because I had been waiting there for almost an hour for my scheduled appt. It was such a waste of time. read more

Just returned from picking up my door. I had asked to have them paint the new driver's side door to my truck. The protective box that I used to deliver the door to them, I unfortunately did not take with me, was thrown away. I had plans to utilize the box for safe transport of the door, and then with one side of the cardboard removed, I was going to utilize the box in my effort to reassemble the door components. The paint job itself looked good, until I looked at the "attach points" to the jig they used in holding the door. They did not take the door off the jig until after I came to pick the door up. There were three areas of bare metal, with one place that would be visible to the interior. This begs the question of how well they do any of their jobs, as long as they "cover up" the areas that are too much for them to foresee or to resolve. Finally, they did not paint the interior of the door correctly, specifically, the frame around the window. I contacted the manager and told him that the quality control inspector needed to go back to school and get some training. He fessed up and said that was his job. I told him he needed to go back to school. I am Not going back. read more

I was in such a time crunch getting some weatherstripping replaced, and not only did he get my car in within 30 mins of me calling, it was all done in a matter of 20 mins and he charged me nothing. This was my first experience, and I will for sure be coming back anytime my vehicle needs any body work, as well as referring everyone I know. Thank you. This has got to be the worst auto body shop I have ever went to! I told them MUILTIPLE times to communicate with me but instead they were only communicating with the insurance company. They did not call me to update me that one of the repair guys was out sick and could not fix my car. It took them almost a month just to take off the bumper to see if my car was totaled and they did not call me to tell me anything! I called them asking if they had put my bumper back on and my tail lights and they said that they did not, but they did put everything in my trunk. When I got my car back, my bumper was missing, my front bumper looks like it's going to come off, there was a scratch on my window and my tire was flat! You would expect to receive your car back looking like how it did when it arrived there. They could really care less about you. I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

I felt like it was necessary to post my experience. Even though it was a few years ago, it was enough for me to never go back. When I took my car in for bodywork after an accident, it sat there for 2 and a half weeks "awaiting parts". The problem was the first time I had called they told me they were already working on my car, then they said no, then again, yes, and finally when I went in person, my car had been sitting in the lot behind their body shop un-touched. I finally got my car towed to another bodyshop who returned my car in excellent condition in 4 days. Interestingly, I had heard others have the same experience with them. My front right passenger tire blew out Monday March 11th, I was referred to Craig Sheets and when I called around 2 he was on lunch and the receptionist said she could help me, I told her the situation and that I was trying to have my car towed there to their shop, between 2 and 5 I called multiple times and never spoke to Craig, when Guardin's towing finally picked up my car (just before 5pm) I let the receptionist know and she told me that they would be closed, but there is a drop box for the keys, I then told the driver, the next morning I recieved a call from the adjuster saying that he would go check out my car when it arrived at Hinshaw's, I said excuse me, what do you mean it's not there! When I called Hinshaw's, I was told that as of 8am Tuesday morning, my car was not there, if I constantly called to let you know my car was being towed to your shop the night before and it wasn't there when you opened, why wouldn't you call and say, hey your car isn't here, do you know where it might be! Thank God I took a picture of the tow truck info while he was hooking up my car, when I finally found my car and made arrangements to get to the shop, the adjuster went Wednesday to do the appraisal (after acting like he helped find my car) I went in Friday and signed the paperwork to get the repairs started, still hadn't talked to Craig, Monday the 18th I called and asked for Craig, I finally talked to him for the first time and told him I was referred to him by Brandon and all he said was cool, then said Kim would be taking over the repairs because she deals with Travelers insurance and that she would keep in contact with me, I didn't understand why she'd take over if I was referred to Craig, Tuesday I still hadn't heard from Kim, I called for Kim Wednesday morning just after 8am when they opened and I was told that she was with a customer and I left a message, then my fiancé called Thursday for Kim, the receptionist took his phone number and didn't even ask his name! By this day a week and a half after my car being at Hinshaw's, I don't know who Kim is or what's happening with my car, I still didn't get a call from her until Friday the 22nd saying that she found more damage (minor) and that I needed to bring in a tire for them to do the alignment, I asked when she found the damage, she said Tuesday, soooo no one thought to call me Tuesday to let me know so that I could take a tire in that day and get my car back sooner rather than later, now Friday I finally hear I have to take a tire in, which I wasn't available, my fiancé took two new tires in and I was told it would be done mid next week (Wednesday maybe friday) which means they would've had my car for three weeks! I called Tuesday the 26th and Kim told me that my car should be done by the end of their business day Wednesday the 27th, she called me later and said it would be done earlier, when I went to pick up my car Wednesday morning at 8am, it was $550 dollars, I was about to leave when another customer told me my back right passenger tire was flat, when Kim came back and got my car, she said they had to patch up a hole and that they had to put air in it a few times in the two and a half weeks it was there(why wasn't I called before) if I had known I would've taken 4 tires, not to mention, I was charged for them to mount the tires, which should've been half the price or free since I wasn't even told about bringing them in until 3 days after they figured out what needed to be done, of course I wanted my car back, but i'm extremely disappointed about how everything was handled, is this really how you guy's do business. read more

They fixed my car, but came back with deep scratches that weren't there before, had my car for almost a whole month and then something in the engine went out the same day i picked my car up after it was finally finished, still hard to believe it was coincidental, they didn't offer me a ride to the dealership that was down the street. I was very satisfied with the service I received from Hinshaw's Auto Body. Kimberly Knoll is very professional as is the staff at the front desk. When I first walked in for my appointment I was greeted warmly and right away they call Kimberly and offered a cup of coffee. Kimberly did a walk around of my vehicle and it is their policy to take pictures of the entire car no just the damaged area. Afterwards I received an estimate. What I like about Hinshaw's Auto Body the communicate with my Insurance Company on every detail as evidenced by the emails I receive from the Insurance Company on the progress of the repairs. Read a lot of negative reviews here and some are older. My dad had his Prius repaired here and had a five star experience in 2013. I just had my own 5 star experience. I found that they went the extra mile for me in dealing with the insurance company for the gentlemen that caused our accident. I dropped our 2015 Ram 1500 off on Tuesday 8/8 and Craig called that afternoon after they dug into the rest of the damage behind the obvious surface damage. Communication was precise and clear with an anticipated completion the following week with an outside chance of a Friday afternoon completion. I was pleasantly surprised by a call Friday at 4:40 from Tom who informed me the truck was complete and even though they close at 5 he would wait till I got there. They insisted I come and to just drop the rental car and they would take care of it. Truck looks great and I am beyond satisfied. Thanks for exceeding my expectations. Great experience! Rich read more
