When I called to confirm my rental he recalled chatting with me the month prior. He picked us up at the airport and chatted us up about our stay and we learned a lot about his experience in Kent and his experience as a rally race car driver! A personable touch which I appreciated and you often get with local businesses. The checkout process was incredibly straightforward with no frills. Provide payment and proof of insurance, do an inspection of the vehicle and you are on your way. Just a heads up, the cars are used, but they are well maintained. #56 for 2018 This is how renting a car needs to be. Sweet and simple. In the middle of cruise season, prices for everything is jacked up. Looking at the car rental ususal suspsects came in at $70\day for the cheapest 2 seater, no bags. TURO wasn't jacked up as much but was frustrating to deal with. For the car I was getting, it was $25\day and that was fine by me. Luckily Mashariki plays no games. It's just no bull straight on business. I rented a 2001 Taurus that was well maintained. The body may have been old but the engine was in excellent condition giving me no problems at all. It did what it needed to getting from point A to point B. Maybe a little more and it worked out perfectly. In order to rent you will need a valid active driver's license. And, an insurance card that covers rental cars for collision and waiver. Both must be active. And, that's it. Mashariki knows how to maintain his fleet of cars and does it well. Being a part time racer and mechanic putting cars back together from the bottom up has given him the needed service to maintain his own cards if he has to. Great communication made for an easy transaction and hand off of the car. Mashariki picked us up at the airport and brought us back on the last day too. His english is good, a fantastic conversationalist, very courteous and delightful to be with. I will be coming back to Seattle for future business. When I do, Mashariki will be getting a call from me to reserve a car for my travel plans. read more

We used this place to get a van for the Ragnar Relay Race NWP. Good rates. The owner was very kind, and the sole proprietor (go local!). What you see on the outdated website is not what he has in stock. I was not satisfied with his original option, a Kia van. But he had a roomier Caravan available and I was able to get that. These are used, so they are not perfect. The only reason it is a 4 instead of 5 is because the battery was weak on the vehicle, and died when we were on Whidbey Island at the finish line of our Relay. Kinda stressful. read more

Honestly, 5 stars is not enough. I highly recommend renting a car here. The owner was very nice and explained everything with absolutely no gimmicks. We were going on a trip to Portland and were planning on returning the car in the afternoon of the third day. However, on our drive back from Portland it started raining so hard that we were delayed. I called and asked if he wanted us to drop off the car that night (he was closed) or in the morning the next day. He told us to not to worry that we could drop it off the next morning for no extra charge. What a relief!! Super sweet guy and cares about his customers. I was skeptical at first, and when I arrived there was no one there, but I called and Louis was out of town but he had his wife drive straight over to help me out and they were both the sweetest people. He gave me a discount on a car because he didn't have cheaper ones available because it was short notice. He was so easygoing, took me back to the airport, and it was a great conversation too! They're used cars, but they run great, they're clean, and for an amazing price! I paid half of what I was quoted at other rental car companies. To be honest, I was pretty skeptical of this operation because it was something we set up in WA from NY and there was zilch in Yelp presence, but Lui proved to be a very easy owner-operator to work with while also remaining very down-to-earth and empathetic to our concerns and the needs of our trip. You really can't beat his prices with used cars from the '80s and '90s for about $20 a day (which was perfect for us who were mainly using the car to get to a trailhead where we were leaving it for three days). If you can be flexible and are truly just looking for a way to get around, this is the car rental service for you. Lui picked us up at the airport as soon as we got in and was then accomodating enough to meet us for the car drop-off at 3 am and to take us to the airport. We didn't get the car that we requested but he still hooked us up with one that worked just fine. I'll definitely be calling Lui again for my next trip. He's used to thinking on his feet and is really good at rearranging things in a hurry because most of his clientele are locals who need a car in a fix. In a further testament to Lui's flexibility and relaxed nature, we got a parking ticket while we were in Seattle and forgot to mention it to him, but it turns out he got a notice in the mail a couple weeks later. He then paid the ticket for us and later charged the credit card he had on file. This turned out to be a blessing because the fine would have tripled if we just let it go. My family and I went from San Francisco to Seattle and needed a car, but didn't want to break the bank. Every dealership connected to the airport was $350+ for a week in an economy size car. So, as I said in 2017, I would definitely rent here again and so I did about 2 months ago. If you can believe it, the experience was even better! We arrived on Christmas Night and Lui explained he couldn't pick us up (perfectly reasonable since it was Christmas Night) but left us the key and said we could pick up the car. I asked if he wanted me to send my license again or update my insurance information and he said it was no problem if it was all the same. He wasn't even worried about us signing the rental contract! I literally picked up the key, got in the car and drove away--can't have a rental process easier than that! I was really happy with the customer service I was receiving but the best was yet to come. On the way back, I forgot something in the car and of course didn't realize it until I was home (a plane flight later). I called Lui that night (9:30 pm or so--I thought I'd get a voicemail at his office but he answered) and he told me he'd check the car immediately. Not only did he find it right away, but he immediately shipped it to me. It was a suit so it cost about thirty dollars to ship. Lui graciously paid for the shipping and texted me the receipt so I could reimburse him. Because I'm an idiot (who leaves a suit in the car???), I got sidetracked and the text slipped down the priority list. No problem for Lui, he was fine! A side note about the cars themselves: as people have noted they are older models but scrupulously maintained and extremely clean. I actually really enjoy driving them because they are responsive and handle very well. Funniest thing was my kids at first not understanding and then being fascinated by the manual windows. They spent about 30 minutes just rolling them up and down. We had a great conversation about cars and car rides when I was a kid (no iPads---what??????? How did you survive?). read more

Thank god Mashariki is so close to Enterprise in Kent! The girls at Enterprise decided to "accidentally" charge my credit card over the fraud alert limit but I still needed a car.... Googled rental cars and there he was! Rented for 2 weeks - never had any problems with the vehicle and he was always a phone call away for any questions - no automated system to put up with just an awesome dude with amazing prices and dependable wheels when you need them. I was extremely pleased with my choice. We got a volvo station wagon which was perfect for our trip at a 1/3 of the price the airport. Lui picked us up and dropped us off at the airport as well. Our departure time was extremely early but he had no qualms with that. Bear in mind, you will be getting an older car with mileage on it, unlike what you would get from the chain rental agencies. I had an outstanding experience with Lui, I was so lucky to have found him on Yelp! The cost for a 12 day car rental at SeaTac would have killed my travel budget, plus review after review of the major companies left me convinced they would rip me off with unneeded extra insurance and whatnot. Renting from Lui was a breeze. His price was extremely reasonable, he promptly picked me up at the airport as part of his service, and the car, while older, got me everywhere I wanted to go without any issues. I ended up with a 2009 Toyota Corolla, with over 145K miles on it - but it was very well taken care of, and it purred like a kitten. The owner, Lui, is very conscientious and friendly. We got picked up and dropped off at SeaTac by Lui and he texted the night before to remind us and let us know we were on his schedule. I believe he's the sole employee and very industrious. The cars are preowned and higher mileage but Lui makes sure they are reliable- good tires, oil ok, things work, etc. The Taurus I had was in good condition and looked okay on the outside and very clean inside. I put 1000 miles on in a week with no issues at all. The prices are incredible compared to the big franchises inside the airport because of all the special taxes and fees. I found Mashariki on Craigslist, honestly I wasn't sure what to expect and hoping I wasn't going to be stranded in Seattle. HOWEVER.... Louis, picked me up from the airport and upgraded my vehicle to a 2000 Caravan, to help support the type of adventure I was going to have touring around the Northwest for the same price. It was perfect and well maintained. The cost of this vehicle for 2 weeks was 1/3 of the price of a small economy car at the big car rental companies. I also had an issue where I misplaced my key and he was very responsive to get me a replacement without any delays or inconveniences in my trip! I was getting my van painted and needed a rental car for two weeks. Two weeks became two months. The owner of the business was more than happy to work with me extending the rental to cover the delays. As stated before in other reviews, the cars are used and super cheap especially if you get the weekly deal. I didn't care what I drove as long as it got me to work and back. The owner also takes people to the airport and will even pick you up and bring you to the rental office if he can. Pretty amazing considering he's a one man operation. The office is located in an industrial park. Hard to find the office entrance if you haven't been their before. Anyway, believe the 5 star reviews. Will 100% use again if my van needs more work.
