Big Crush, another band from HIP Entertainment, recently played our wedding and we could not have been happier. The band's energy was absolutely electric and our guests immediately filled the dance floor as soon as they started playing. Aside from their obligatory 15-minute set break, none of our guests stopped dancing. Big Crush played a wide range of tunes (old and new) and kept the energy high through their entire performance. My wife and I were given a special surprise at the end of their set, where the band cleared the dance floor and played a private song for just the two of us. It was a very special moment! We used Hip Entertainment for our daughters wedding in 2019 and they were great. Used them recently for a party for my wife, and I was much more involved in the planning. They have a great play list and completely accommodated our requests. In addition to being great musicians and singers, they are great performers, engaging the guests and making the event really fun. I am usually quite the skeptic when it comes to trusting reviews. Planning a wedding from out of state was extremely difficult, especially when it came to finding entertainment! I really wanted a live band and a DJ, and not being able to see anyone live made the choice that much more difficult, but I went with my gut and booked Hip Entertainment! I hired the band Popular Demand and DJ Louie to make sure the party kept going throughout the event. It was the BEST decision to book them! Steve and his team is truly the GREATEST!!!! My husband and I are still beside ourselves after this weekend and I have to tell you, Popular Demand and DJ Louie absolutely KILLED IT!!! The dance floor was NEVER empty, people couldn't stop dancing and majority of our guests refused to leave the party and stayed and until midnight without realizing what time it was! No one wanted to leave because of how good both the band and DJ were. I received this comment all night: "This is the best party I have every been to! The band and DJ are SO GOOD!" I cannot begin to thank you enough for ALL Hip Entertainment did! It was truly the best day of my life, and your team facilitated the best party! He has an incredible network of diverse bands and musicians to choose from and consulted with us to help narrow down the best fit for our needs - everything from the string trio at our ceremony to the rocking DJ Chris and band, Mother Mayhem, at our reception. Steve was able to deliver all our entertainment needs under budget. Thank you, Steve! Weddings can be stressful to plan since there are multiple vendors and so many details involved. Steve was a consummate professional and aided all our communications with all the musicians. He spent time discussing lighting and sound with the band, and at the last minute helped us find a wireless mic. for the ceremony! Our wedding coordinator, Traci, commented on how knowledgeable and easy Steve was to work with, and I couldn't agree more. He has a lot of passion and joy in what he does and it comes through in his work with his clients. It's clear that Steve cares about his client's experience and goes above and beyond to meet and exceed their expectations. As an aside, Mother Mayhem was a great band for our wedding. We highlighted songs from their playlist and they did an incredible job getting everyone moving and grooving. They didn't take any set breaks and just kept the music going for almost 2 hrs. straight - wow! In addition, they learned a song for me to sing to Dan. We hired Three For Dinner through Hip Entertainment to play at our wedding reception, and were super happy that we did. Three For Dinner was exactly what we were looking for, playing acoustic and jazz versions of a lot of well known songs. They were also open to requests for specific songs we saw on their repertoire. But more importantly to us, our wedding was video game themed and there were a couple video game songs from our childhood that weren't in their repertoire; after a little discussion, they were very gracious and agreed to learn the songs for our wedding, which meant a lot to us. We planned a destination wedding in Tahoe (from NYC!) via email and phone, and Steve was incredibly responsive, professional and patient with us and all of our questions. The day of the wedding I have NO DOUBT that everything would go off without a hitch because of their attention to detail and the countless hours Steve spend on the phone with us. The band even surprised us a week before our wedding by learning a pretty obscure song for our first dance (Shine a Light by the Rolling Stones) and KILLED IT, to the point that the band cut out and one point so everyone could clap along with the lead singer. My family hired Steve and his company to perform at my wedding. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 our event was cancelled 3 times. 2 times because of the government banning all large events (we also live out of state so couldn't get to CA) and the 3rd cancellation I was incredibly sick with COVID-19. I started to seek refunds because I fell into the long hauler category with no recovery in sight. I was on and off of bed rest for months, unable to work or even take a 5 minute walk without severe exhaustion and side effects. I never in my life have been so sick and to this date I still experience symptoms. I emailed Steve in hopes he would understand the situation we were now in but Steve would not even get on a call with me to hear my situation and learn about how ill I had become- he made no interest in my health and well being. Steves actions have proven his true character and is absolutely considered a Pandemic Predator. He profited off us cancelling our event due to me being ill with COVID- 19. After a short email Exchange & even with a credit (only through 2021) on the back end I am intimidated and so nervous I wouldn't want anyone who does not care for my health to be in attendance at my wedding. I believe any and all future clients should know if you hire Steve and his company and become ill with COVID-19 and have to cancel your event there will be ZERO empathy for you and your health. Steve will not make time to speak with you on the phone, once he gets your money he could care less about you. Any human with decent morals would know his behavior is an abuse of power (because he holds the deposit), neglectful and harmful to the client. I hate having to write this review but this is what it has come down to. I just wish Steve would have done the right thing and made time to work this all out so we all walked away happy but his greed has consumed him. read more

I cannot even describe how incredible Hip Service was for our September wedding in Sonoma. I (the bride) prefer motown and my now husband is a huge classic rock fan. Hip Service combined both of our styles and performed such a high energy, mellow when appropriate, performance. Also, they learned "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin for our first dance; not an easy guitar challenge. They nailed it and more! I was blown away. Additionally, my now husband surprised me by singing and playing guitar, requiring a practice session with the band. The band was so thoughtful and also gave him great tips as he performed. I will ask Hip Service to play at ANY party we have and will tell all friends getting married in San Francisco and beyond to hire them. I just attended a very large event at Thunder Valley Casino that Hip Entertainment helped produce. I was so impressed by the scale of the event and the scope and detail of planning that must have been required to pull it off. There were so many acts and activities under one tent and it all seemed to flow beautifully. I had no idea Hip Entertainment planned and organized events of this size. It was apparent to everyone in attendance that the talent and entertainment was top notch....and that the event planning accounted for every detail. As guest at the event, I was impressed with EVERYTHIING. The theme of the event was "Mardis Gras" and the entertainment provided by Hip Entertainment was the perfect compliment for the theme. There were several parades complete with acrobats, stilt walkers and an authentic New Orleans style Jazz Band, as well as magic, juggling and a spectacular performance ice sculpting team who created a 10 foot tall Mardi Gras mask accompanied by laser lights and high energy music. The quality of the talent was definitely top notch and the whole evening went over beautifully. Sure hope to attend another event this group puts together! read more
