    Chili cheese dog. Fries

Simple food at affordable prices. Where can you get a burger for $3.75? 1/4lb dog $4 and you can add sauerkraut. Chili or cheese add--on $0.50 each. Hot, crisp fries $3.75. Order at counter. Quick service. Separate entrance for dine-in and takeout. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No fancy decor but fun to read their history, est. 1932![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Picnic tables open during warm weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A Saturday at 3pm and there's always someone eating or ordering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Quick service. Best item on the menu is the chili dog. The onion rings are delicious, but it's salty . The plain dog with kraut and relish was fine, but the chili dog I thought tastes the best. $4.50 for chili dog, $4.00 for plain dog and $4.00 onion rings.

Rare 5 Star Review An Institution for a reason. Hiram's Roadstand has been serving hot dogs since 1928. Deep fried hot dogs, classic Fried Dogs, Burgers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is about as old school as it gets.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]On one side is counter service where younger neighborhood kids were eating dogs and sipping on Yoo-hoo, while the other half is a bar where the older guys were jamming down dogs and burgers, and watching the game.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] TIP: Ice Cold Draft Beers TIP 2: Always order your dogs well done, they get a bit ripped, delicious. Always a must stop, gives Rutz Hut a run for its money. Thanks

The food was delicious and the price of the food and drinks were good. The employees and service were very good. Also they had plenty of people working there and you didn't have to wait a long time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus their own unique ambience from a place that has been around for many years[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . [[HIGHLIGHT]]And has areas for children.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

TLDR: Famous quick stop in the Fort Lee area. Chili cheese dog. Cash only. Tasty. I've driven by Hiram's countless times but only tried it the other day. It gives me a very similar vibe to New Park Pizza in Howard Beach, the hot dog and burger version. IYKYK. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's cash only, you can order at the counter and there's some seats both inside and some benches in the parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chili cheese dog was very tasty. Standard bun but the frankfurter itself had a very snappy casing. Well-cooked and served HOT. The chili was also hot and there's a slice of American underneath. It melts together in a much better way than the standard nacho cheese like sauce I'm accustomed to. So nice, we had it twice. I try not to eat too many hot dogs but if you're craving it - do it right. I'd definitely come back to try some other things, maybe not after I just ate dinner but it was still a good idea.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally tried outdoor dining and it was wonderful on a warm spring day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To my chagrin, they discontinued their Birch Beer, but their Root Beer they allowed me to sample was still pretty good! I ordered onion rings & chili cheese dog loaded with relish, k&m and brought it out to the back patio packed neatly in a cardboard box. The dog hit the spot as always - fresh bread, great tasting fried dog w/ classic condiments, paired perfectly with a cold bottle of miller lite. Not sure why I keep ordering the onion rings though... must be the grease junkie in me but it's not that good (not enough onion, too much coating & greasy). Wouldn't order it again unless I wanna be transported back to the early 90s roller skating rink food. Good to eat once in a (long) while (wife says), but I say the classic taste cannot be denied!

We go here whenever we crave some good hot dogs. Had a cheeseburger, plain dog for the kid, souerkraut for wife, chilli cheese RO dog for myself. Do not forget to add mustard because the dogs are not salty, which I like.

Hiram's 1345 Palisade Ave. Fort Lee, NJ 07024 Hot Dog with Red Onions Hot Dog with Chili and Cheese Onion Rings Sausage Sandwich Located in Fort Lee approximately one mile from the George Washington Bridge is a locally owned restaurant that specializes in the good old fashioned American hot dog. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a decent amount of indoor seating and plenty of decorative wall art.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The hot dog was smothered in red onions. Some of the onions fell of the dog, but that's definitely a good problem as it means the plentiful onions were piled high and deep. In my personal opinion, chili and cheese both make excellent toppings on a frankfurter. Visually the cheese is hard to see, but it is hidden beneath a heaping mound of chili. If you aren't craving a hot dog, check out a couple of the other comfort food menu items I explored. The battered onion rings are piping hot. While crunchy on the outside, they are soft and savory on the inside. It's a win-win whether you choose to have them plain or with a dipping sauce of your choice. This flattened sausage patty is smothered in marinara sauce and served on Italian bread. It is simple, yet satisfying. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a pleasant experience eating classic food in this casual establishment[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. #hotdogs #hotdoglovers #hotdogwithredonions #redonions #chiliandcheese #hotdogwithchiliandcheese #sausagesandwich #onionings #Hirams #fortleenj #foodstagram #localbusiness #foodreviews #njfoodie #eats #localspots

A New Jersey institute that has stood the test of time. There isn't much to say about Hiram's, been here forever. Serving up deep fried hot dogs and burgers and all the classic sides. You can eve be order a beer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place with two entrances, one where you can stand to eat or pick up to go, another where they offer some tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very old school spot, cash only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great service. If you want a hot dog or burger you gotta stop here.

I stopped in recently with my girlfriend as I've been wanting to try this place since I first saw Anthony Bourdain come here and say it was his favorite hot dog. But since I became vegan/vegetarian in 2017 I rarely eat meat unless it's a special place or a rare occasion, but over the past month I loosened up a little and ate some here and there so I made it a point to come here due to this being a special place. It's a cool little spot in a great area. I've always loved Fort Lee. The atmosphere is vibey yet fast faced. You feel a sense of urgency while eating here as everyone is in a rush to eat and go. Which I'm down with. We ordered a dog to share with mustard and sauerkraut on it. F****ck it was good! So good that my girlfriend said, "Let's get another one babe!" I loved that! She also added some relish to this one which made it even better. I've had alot of great hot dogs across the United States and I have to say, this is the best one I've had thus far. Highly Recommended and thanks for the great service and vibey atmosphere. I'll be back soon to have more dogs plus I'll make sure to enjoy a beer and a burger the next time as well. Enjoy :P

Took a trip to Fort lee to check out Hiram's on a Sunday morning-[[HIGHLIGHT]]on the outside the place exuded nostalgia, and the inside matched-good vibes all around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only two other guests when we walked in, ordered a couple of dogs, couple of sodas and an order of fries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Less than $20 (cash only!) for all, food came out quickly, piping hot. They had a small bar area, about six tables inside, and plenty of outdoor seating, and fairly ample parking. Staff was great, providing good service. Might have to make this an annual trek!

It's not summertime if you haven't stopped at Hiram's Roadstand, one of the last few places on earth where prices haven't risen exponentially. As a pescetarian, I especially love their dirt-cheap draft beer and cheese fries. The 2 slices of American cheese between an inside-out bun is fine. I would lose it if they added a vegan hot dog option to the menu, but I don't think that's in the cards for old school places like Hiram's.

    Brian L.

Worth a special trip? No. Worth a slight detour? Sure. This is quintessential greasy spoon. The chili cheese dog... awesome! (the cheese comes in slice, not liquid form). The burger is full of sodium and delicious with the grilled onions. The onion rings are doused in batter and actually cling to the onion. You can add your own relish and other stuff yourself. Ask for mayo, they have it. These guys have this grub down to a science. Keep your expectations mediocre, and you will be thrilled. Yes the place is a little dirty, no the guys will not put on a Disney dance for you when you come in, yes you will leave satisfied. I visited around 3pm on a Friday, and found parking and seating, no problem. Cash only.

The restaurant has an interesting history. Even though the original opened in Cresskill, NJ, it unfortunately has permanently closed. However, not only is the Edgewater location amazing, but it had the guts to open during COVID (2022), survived, and is succeeding. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. Their decorations are tasteful, the presentation of the food is award winning, and the service is stellar. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was so good. Served in a large mug, an airy/creamy top, and had the perfect amount of mocha happiness throughout. Before the meal even started, we were graciously given Za'atar (a popular Middle Eastern spice blend with an earthy, tangy, and nutty flavor, toasted sesame seeds, and sumac, with salt). It was crunchy, drizzled with oil, and I enjoyed how each thin pita bite made the spices explode all over the table. The entrees were: Strawberry French Toast. The next was the Falafel Platter (chickpeas and fava bean balls, served with tahini sauce, pickles, turnips, tomato, and mint). The last selection was the Avocado Toast (Citrus cured salmon over multigrain bread, tomatoes, onions, capers & citrus vinaigrette). Not only were all of these dishes beautifully presented, but all were filling, as well. My Avocado Toast kept me full for the rest of the day and the salmon was enjoyably salty, thin, and delicious. I noticed a dessert in their display case and ordered it. The dessert was the Riz Bil Ashta (Lebanese rice cream, infused with orange blossom water, blended with milk and cheese, and topped with crushed pistachios). This dessert tasted like a regal custard and the pistachios added an enjoyable texture that makes it recommended. Of course, I had to cap the meal with a Mocchiato. This amazing beverage followed the rest of the meal..... delicious, eyes closed good, and every sip was full-flavored. Thank you, Madison Café and Grill, for presenting a memorable meal and I wish you continued success.

When we got new drinks they were right on the spot. Our entrée came it was not a wow factor for me. I had steak which was cooked and seasoned to my liking, it was not bad. The Mexican corn was pretty good, but the mashed potatoes tasted from the box and salty. There's plenty of seating inside if you want to dine in. The interior is modern, clean, and inviting with lots of greenery. Their menu is built on natural ingredients and bold flavors. You can choose from diverse options like salads, bowls, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, protein shakes, etc. They use grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, wild-caught seafood, and locally sourced organic fruits and vegetables. The food is packed with vibrant flavors and generous portions of protein. My top recommendation would be the Big NY (~$16). It includes steak, onion, mushrooms, romaine, feta, and lemon cilantro vinaigrette. I usually get it on a whole wheat wrap and it is to die forrrrrrrrr!!! The steak is super juicy and tender. All of the ingredients work so well together! One bite and I was in love. I also love getting a side of baked sweet potato fries ($6). Even the ketchup they use is organic and only made with REAL tomatoes. Don't forget to grab a bottled Kombucha ($5) from their fridge - a tangy, fizzy, sweet, and refreshing drink! It's the perfect amount of sweetness. We ordered a bunch of appetizers because we were all starving. We had the brisket sliders, octopus, shrimp tacos, and meatballs. It was all so delicious and filled with flavor. My fav was the brisket sliders. We ate everything and still had space when we moved onto our entrees. My mom and I ended up splitting the crab pasta and steak frites because that's also tasty. My gf had her salmon with salad that she was craving for a while. By the time we finished eating there was another party of 10+ seated right behind us that he was servicing. I hope he enjoys the reward$ of his hard work! Make it rain on em Wesley! -Fat friendly seating. No arms, solid chairs, comfortable cushions. We were there for 4 hours and my booty was never sore. -Food. We tore it up and it was all delicious. My half of the table had the farm house breakfast sando, the fried chicken sando, French omelette, huevo rancheros. We shared the crab hush puppies, wings, calamari, goat cheese salad, and blueberry pancakes. I was nosey and saw that some of my other table mates ordered the skirt steak and eggs and the short rib. -Drinks. I know my husband loves mango so I suggested he get the smoked mango drink. I didn't know it came with theatrics. Dinner and a show?! Btw by the time our table was done almost everyone had ordered one. Lychee martini, Paloma, old fashioned, midnight espresso. Also all very good! -The View. Our party was too large to sit outside but we did sit right at the floor to ceiling windows. In between birthday wishes and food comas we watched the boats, jet skis, and undulating waves of the Hudson. Previous posters are correct - the place is pricey. But high key the people who live in that area are already paying a premium for everything else sooooo. Now, I DONT live in that area lmao so this will be a rarer treat for me. But I was happy to celebrate my cousin's birthday in a place that she loves. Awesome experience - I look forward to returning! 10/10 would put on a bra for this and walk downstairs lol

TBH, I don't really remember the rest of the meal. i think dessert was something sugary, dunno... Service was... oh, who cares when your body is coursing with medium-rare iron and slightly charred protein hunks that the noble bovine has so generously given mankind. And I guess I was there for my anniversary or something. I remember whatever riverfront view the restaurant touts was completely obscured by shitty rain. Oh, but the STEAK... I guess my wife liked her meal. Pasta? Chicken? Chicken pasta? Whatevs, it wasn't steak, so no matter. We're still married.

So I did. I cannot get over how tasty and oh so good their burgers are! I am not a fan of burgers that are smashed, but these burgers are so tasty and juicy! Beef delivered from Pat LeFrieda's every day, and all fresh ingredients. And the sauce on the Burger so delicious. They have excellent choices, including plant-based burgers and breaded chicken ("Impossible" brand) I had the swiss burger lettuce wrap with sautéed onions & shrooms, And My best friend had the same but added bacon. He also ordered truffle Parmesan fries, which were so delectable! To top it off, the service was excellent! Everyone who worked there was helpful & answered any question that you had with a smile. What a great bunch of people! I live about 20 minutes away, but I will definitely be going back at least once a week! And the place is cute. Love, love, love Marty's!!

Considering how I had an impulsive meal at McDonald's for $13 of similar portions not too long ago, Marty's is a better deal by miles. The chicken sandwich is nicely battered and arrived slathered in their house sauce that reminds me of In N Out's 'animal' sauce. I like the addition of the sweet pickles, too. And their Cole slaw is actually good; also made in house. The fries used to be thinner, which I miss. But I can't get over how good the salt and vinegar ones are. I will just have to accept the regression in quality. Nothing lasts forever, after all.
