I was susceptible because all the reviews seemed good and I thought they could've been fake, but my experience was great with Hiro. I needed to get my brakes done because they were squeaking. They said the pads were fine, but whoever changed them before used cheap ones and that's why they were squeaking. They called and offered different options on what I could do and the price was exceptionally less than I thought it would be. Would definitely recommend them. read more

He was our trusted mechanic for 15+ years. In the past couple of years, we've started using Hiro Auto Service regularly for our general maintenance & minor/routine auto services. And we finally found a shop that's as great in service & prices as our trusted mechanic. Came here for this first time as I was in search of a second opinion. My car (Kia Forte 2017) has been burning oil quickly. Saul was very helpful and was able to give me a run down of my options. This was all without even seeing my car! He recommended I think about it and that if I wanted to take it in for a diagnostic I could. I ended up making an appointment and took it in. When it was ready, he let me know that the burning of the oil is not critical at the moment, the only option that could completely fix the issue is replacing the engine. I used to do all the maintenance on my minivan myself but once I passed the 6 figure mileage mark I decided to find a professional to keep me on the road with peace of mind. I first took it to another shop which I felt was just upselling all kinds of services. I understand and appreciate recommendations, but since I did all the maintenance on my car myself, I feel like I have a good sense of what is an upsell and a solid recommendation. So after an uneasy feeling from that shop, I found Hiro on Yelp and decided to give them a shot. Call didn't work for some reason so I emailed them through their website. He called back right away and explained how things worked. I scheduled an appointment and dropped the car off. About an hour later he called and told me what needed to be done. He clearly explained which services was critical and which services could wait and how much each would cost. Prices were pretty good so I just had him do everything. Picking up the car was a breeze and the service they performed seemed to be better than anything I've done myself in the past. The brakes felt amazingly smooth! (wonder if I was doing it wrong the whole time). Anyways, it wasn't until I reviewed the invoice more closely that I was even more impressed with what they did. He actually gave me some discounts on some of the parts and didn't charge for some of the labor. They even rotated my tires for free! I guess that makes sense since they had to take the tires off anyways, but most shops would try to sell you on that. Generally when you go to shops like these you get disappointing 'surprises'. Here they surprise you in your favor. After finding out that a friend took his car to this shop as well, he said that they do that frequently and he's a customer for life cause of that. Wow!! This place AND staff is extremely helpful, honest and fair. I brought my 2012 G37 Infiniti here to have a Led Bulb replaced they got it done in less than an hour. Brought my boyfriend's car here very last minute because his a/c went out and we were heading to arizona in a few days. The staff was super nice and let me know it would probably take a few days which was totally fine and what we expected. After I dropped the car off they called saying the cars a/c would be fixed and be ready the following day. They fixed my boyfriend's a/c faster than we anticipated and for a fair price! We had a problem with a Dodge dealer packing it's service recommendations with high prices and at least one unnecessary $800 service (which Hiro identified). All of our interactions with Hiro were straightforward and businesslike. They were about half of what the dealer was going to charge--but we are not recommending them because of low prices. I came by last Saturday for an oil change and it was super quick! When I initially called to make the appointment to drop my car off, the person answering was very nice and accommodating. It was a very pleasant and smooth process the entire time I was there Saturday, so I'm definitely coming back. I also appreciate how honest they are because as I was waiting, the guy came back and told me that he noticed one of the front light bulbs was out and asked if I would like it changed and gave me the price outright. They don't do anything without your permission so I think that's really awesome because most other mechanics just fix a "problem" and expect to get paid for the job done. We took our car in for a second opinion on a costly replacement/maintenance job service (replacing the timing belt) that the dealer recommended as necessary, which I never trust a commissioned service writer. Hiro Auto Service is a straight shooter. They said we had a good 30,000 miles left before we needed to think about replacing the timing belt. I won't say that other mechanics are dishonest, but their lack of knowledge can still cost you a bundle of cash. Hiro Auto Service really has deep knowledge in Acuras and Honda, and our son, ( who recommended Hiro to us) has Toyotas and has been a big fan of Hiro Auto Service for years. This is Hiro's new location; I like it better only because it's closer to where I live. =) its previous location garnered a large amount of 5 stars which did leave me quite wary of this place but I thought I'd give it a try. I also requested that they refill my windshield wiper fluid. At the end of the check up, they suggested that I fix up a few things after the roadtrip. I know full well that they could have just told me to get it there and then so that they could profit off me; very surprised that they're honest. They didn't screw me over like National Transmission over in Lomita. I was actually expecting them to charge me for the labor of the windshield wipers but I paid absolutely nothing for this honest check up. I had my car checked out before going on a 2,000 mile trip. Thanks to the check ups, I had no issues with my car on the roadtrip. read more

Those of you who got no time for reading my logic of 5 stars, I simply recommend to go here for oil change and other services. And look for Saul. Now, here's my logic. 1. Cleanness. It's one of the most nice and neat body shops that I have ever gone to. Including all Franchise Oil Service centers. 2. Service. Super friendly and Saul got the vibe of goodness. Once you talk to him, you will see what I have received today. 3. Follow up. Before he even processed any service, he verified and let me know what % was left on my both front and back brake pads. (Previous body shop ask me to change the brake pads in next service) 4. Price. I had synthetic oil change. Usually, they are $60 or plus. But they were $50 w/ the world's most great service! 5. Amenities. Keurig coffees. Just in case you had to rush to this place, they got you coffee served Just in case, you are a skeptical person as I am, here is one word summarizes this body shop. Honest. So these dudes have always been like the obscure car whisperers... I've owned a bunch of niche cars and always found the fellas there to be very very likable even when they themselves weren't huge fans of my Geo car fetishes and continent-sized Infiniti on four wheels. Seriously.... the early days when I had both a 1982 and 1989 Toyota Cressida; I had inherited two head gasket hungry 4 door Supra for your grandma before there was Lexus.... I wasn't really earning the big bucks but these dudes were life savers in helping me over the years in acquiring some of the necessary components "off the record" to help offset the self induced financial pain. Later on; I'd be bringing in my super dope 1993 and 1991 Geo Storms for both a missing bolt between the manifold ( I had no idea why my sick ass Geo Storm sounded so so dope but wouldn't pass smog) and for the 93 to have a radiator replacement but they didn't charge very much at all for that bolt and the radiator they had mentioned I could just bring in since the car was already a miracle to even still be around since it was meant as a throw away eco box from Chevy. I seriously could go on and on but the staff from then and even now who I've taken my super boring 2000 Camry to now have been very honest and very helpful in both servicing and educating my monkey brains. This is the most trustworthy auto place that I have ever been to. Being a female and clueless about cars (but not stupid because I always research what auto mechanics tell me before getting it done), they never took advantage of that like I feel other auto shops have. They always give me all of my options. If something needs to be fixed, they would not pressure me to do it that same day, if not urgent. They would let me know how long I can go before definitely having to fix it. I've been coming here for about 4-5 years now. I called them this morning, asking to make an appointment. The representative was very rude to me. I said "After I drop my car at your place, I have no where to go", what I truly meant was "please fix the problem asap", guess what he said. "This is not our problem, this is your problem", he said this in a very cold way. Certainly I understand this is my problem, but he could say it in a different way, such as "We have very good couch here". I think they should replace the representative. Went to this auto repair shop and had an appointment. The guys checked my wheel and said there's a whee bearing problem and needs to be changed. Come later as they were busy. They didn't check the lug nuts and while driving my wheel came off on the interstate freeway. These guys call themselves professionals but they are stupid mechanics. read more

My go to place for oil changes! I've owned two Toyotas and I've been bringing it to Hiro for years now. They've always been fast about the service, and no issues have cropped up. If we do need anything fixed, I'd probably still use Hiro. Lucky for me though, Toyotas last forever and don't usually have issues! I've brought a corolla and a prius here. They do the oil changes and overall car check for both gas cars and hybrids. The price for both services is pretty affordable and competitive. I've never had anything sold to me and they are usually really courteous and quick. Their time estimates are pretty accurate or at times they even finish early! One good thing to note is that they have a small clean waiting room for people. There is a drink station and some chairs to plop into. A good mix of women and men are customers here. Which is great because some car service places don't treat women the same. Make an appointment before coming! I've never walked in before so I'm not sure if they do that. Average wait time is about half an hour. Hiro is close enough to Charles Wilson park that you could walk there and back while waiting. Takes a bit longer than half an hour at my pace though! Hiro will call when your car is ready and park it off to the side if you're not right there to get it. Hiro is definitely a great place to do routine maintenance for sure. It feels comfortable and they're quick. read more

More info. they tried to sell me brakes...which I didn't need. brakes is the fast money, easy work for them.. 30 min for $300. However my tires were extremely unevenly worn indicating obvious need of front end suspension and/or steering issues. They did not mention at all!!!! And sent me on the road. Fork these guys. HONEST TEAM I been turned down from these guys now 5 times because it was something that didnt require money to fix. Last time I took my mom's car and they said take it to Toyota and they will fix it under warranty for free, and my mom gave Saul a box of donuts because they wont charge us. These guys are probably the LAST honest working people I know. Today I was turned down for service because my 4Runner's engine light came on and I took it to them, He checked and within 3 mins came back and said "I think you just didn't put the gas cap back on correctly, so I reset the engine lamp and later if it comes back on, then come back No charge" .
