The Check Engine light was flashing (a bad sign) on my husband's '96 Toyota 4Runner (which has nearly 300K miles on it). The car was running really rough and was barely able to limp back to our house from the store a scant mile away. Our old shop no longer has the same great guy doing the work so we needed to find someone new and I'd been eyeing this shop on Yelp for some time. Ishida-san took our car straight away and called to tell us what was going on within an hour of its arrival at his shop. He was clear about the problems, the order in which they must be addressed, AND that we could even take care of problem #1 ourselves if we wished (we didn't). He said that once problem #1 was solved, it would be possible that problem #2 might go away on its own, but may reappear in the future, in which case we could bring the car back. Problem #2 went away after #1 was sorted, the cost for the repair was SO reasonable, and the car was ready for pickup the same day. Ishida-san showed us the old part and explained why it failed. TL,DR; you can expect HONESTY, a FAIR PRICE, EXCELLENT WORK and a MORE THAN REASONABLE TURNAROUND TIME from this shop. I worked writing service/repair estimates at an independent auto repair shop for several years and know the business a bit. We've just found our new shop and I couldn't be happier!!! Amazing service! I originally called on Tuesday to ask if I could get an oil change that same Thursday. They originally had an appointment already scheduled at the time I asked, but they called me back and were able to squeeze me in. He finished in less than an hour and the price was a lot less than what I thought it'd be. He even put air in my tires ... and I didn't even have to ask lol. Will definitely be going back! read more

I brought in some chassis bracing from a 4 series BMW to install onto my f30 3 series. Since this was a retrofit job, there weren't really any good instructions to go off of, but all I needed to do was point out roughly where all the parts went, stand back and watch! I've serviced my Toyota 4Runner twice from Kaz. Each time he was thorough and punctual. Prices are definitely fair since he always includes a general inspection of the car (my first time there for a simple oil change, he checked all the lights and discovered that my 3rd brake light and 1 turn signal light weren't operating). In life you need a good mechanic. (310) 212-7975. I do not know much about cars, I put in gas and go to the mechanic when the light turns on. This time around my problem was big, when I tried to start my car, the engine shook violently and then shut off. After a diagnostic of my vehicle at the dealer, Mercedes Benz 2007 E350, I was told that my # 5 cylinder had no compression and that I would need to rebuild the engine or replace it. Rather than moving forward with a repair that would cost anywhere between $4,000-$5,000, I called Kaz for a second opinion. Kaz took the time to thoroughly investigate the cause of engine failure/no compression in cylinder and determined that the cause of the problem was a loosened part in the engine. Kaz was able to diagnose and repair my vehicle for about $800. This included an oil change and replacement of all spark plugs and air filter. I was completely in the dark in this situation and he guided me through like the pro he is. If you are in need of a mechanic, do yourself a favor and go see Kaz.
