After a very long day of mishaps, including being displaced from our room due to a roof leak, our original dinner reservations offsite for my birthday were canceled. Feeling defeated, we decided to try Hiroshi on site and what a blessing in disguise that turned out to be. Carlos made all the difference. Despite our last-minute walk in, he went above and beyond to accommodate us. His exceptional professionalism turned our evening around. Carlos showed incredible leadership, taking control of the situation and ensuring everything ran smoothly.Hiroshi is lucky to have such a dedicated team member.
Of all the restaurants on the Garza Blanca Preserve, this one has the best cocktails. Sushi in Mexico seems like a perfect combination because both cultures have a long history with enjoying resources from the ocean. It just makes sense to have fresh fish when you can see the ocean front of you. Additionally the sunset adds a beautiful romanticism to the setting. I recommend coming in a small group so that you can sit outside on the patio with an unobstructed view of the sky. Everything was delicious. We would've ordered more but we weren't very hungry. This was the only restaurant we eat out on the property that did an offer and amuse bouche. The food and drinks were spectacular, but some thing about the service seemed odd. Otherwise we definitely would've returned for another dinner services while we were in PV.
this was by far the best meal we had during our stay. It had all the benefits of all you can eat sushi with so much better quality and atmosphere. Hiroshi overlooks the beach and has 120+degree views. We lucked out and had front row seats of the sunset while we enjoyed cocktails and appetizers. All of the sushi was delicious and so fresh tasting. Our waiters were super attentive and let us order in courses while we slowly figured out what we wanted. They even had a few suggestions for us which was helpful! We never once felt rushed by them either which is always my worry when we order in multiple courses and so slowly. I will probably dream of this experience for a long time
In A Nutshell: -Hiroshi is a good sushi restaurant located inside the North Tower of Hotel Mousai. -If you are grabbing dinner, I suggest you sit outside so you can enjoy the weather & especially the sunset views disappearing into Banderas Bay. -The food is above average, which is good b/c it's hard to find good sushi in Mexico. Overall, this is a good restaurant to try if you are staying at the hotel.
The food is overrated and over priced. I would get a drink and appetizers here but not dinner. The view is beautiful and the ambiance is also great! There is live saxophone music too. Our servers were also very nice. I think it is funny you cannot pay in cash so they screw you with their exchange rate. Go to Hisao in the Romantic district in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The service is just as good and the food is better.
For me, this was the best dinner at Hotel Mousai--hands down. We weren't able to get an advance reservation here when we were booking online from the States, but when we arrived at the hotel, we went and talked to them, and they were able to reserve a time for us the following night. Thank goodness! I'm so glad we didn't miss this! First of all, the view from the outdoor balcony is amazing. The service was wonderful, which is typical for Hotel Mousai, but this service felt less intrusive than at Noi. The servers seemed to know exactly when their presence was needed, which is definitely an art. We started with the garlic edamame, which was shockingly my favorite part of the meal. I don't know what else they put in this besides garlic and soybeans, but wow--it just blew me away. My salad was good, fresh, simple. The veggie potstickers were the only disappointing part of the meal. They looked great and were beautifully presented, but the flavor was just...meh. I'm allergic to seafood, so I was stuck with beef...again. But that's okay. They robota skewers were really good, as were the veggie skewers. And then for dessert--the vegan chocolate cake was AMAZING! I didn't have high hopes for it, but wow--I was impressed. You'd never know it was vegan. Oh! And my lychee martini! My favorite drink at Hotel Mousai. Don't miss this!!
Everything at Hiroshi is perfect, loved the service, food and ambiance. The only reason for a 4 star is because in June the restaurant is very hot. Most of the seating is outside for the most amazing views, however, the humidity makes it uncomfortable for eating. There are a few indoor seats but since they are located near the kitchen and all the heat travels over making it even hotter than outside. The quality of the sushi and selections were outstanding. We ordered Tiradito Blanco, Mango roll, Sake Citrus roll, Yaki Niku plate, and Robata Hiroshi plate. The creme brûlée was not that great. There is a reason why this is the most sought after reservation at Hotel Mousai.

They asked if we were celebrating anything on our trip and I mentioned we were celebrating my no longer having cancer, and they surprised us with a beautiful dessert "Celebrating Life." It was so beautiful, I cried a little. We had gorgeous sunset view of the mountains. The service was fantastic.
I have to admit, getting sushi in Mexico is an odd culture clash. But Hiroshi does a great job of using fresh fish and and an assortment of cooked foods to provide great tastes and something for all at the table. I recommend sitting outside if available. The inside is a little cramped and loud. A couple of demerits - they have a small hibachi grill that emits a gas/charcoal smell that was unappealing to me, but others might be cool with it. I am a sushi rice snob (so take next comment with a grain...) and I found the Nigiri rice tasteless and the grains to be overly compressed.
This is a must go to when at the Hotel Musai, and often it is our favorite. We do go back and forth with Dai lol...but we always go at least twice here each time we visit Puerto Vallarta. The service here is just amazing. It is very popular, they are great in getting people in quickly.... The view from most of the tables is magnificent. One year we saw a beautiful lightening storm over the water.... The sushi, food is amazing. First let me share that the rib eye with a delicious Teriyaki sauce is always a hit. We ways like the mixed shrimp tempura and the hamachi sashimi with jalapeño and truffle vinaigrette is our hands down favorite. The citrus roll was good but the lemon for me was a bit over powering, but the boyfriend loved it. Rainbow roll and hamachi and green onion hand roll very yummy The hamachi nigiri was great, great, great, ordered it twice this week. For dessert our go to is the Coconut cake and green tea ice cream is so yummy. Oh the crispy rice and spicy tuna was delicious, and we will definitely get that again. The Hiroshi lychee saki martini is very nice, NOT to be confused with a midori martini which is far too sweet. Though a nice vegan option, I won't get the rice noodles and tofu again. It wasn't the savory thick noodles that I envisioned. In all this is an amazing restaurant and it is not surprising Hiroshi is considered one of the top two restaurants here. read more
We're not the ideal diner for sushi as neither of us typically eats it. But we figured that it was included in our stay so we might as well give it a try. I think it's safe to say that I'm still not a raw fish person but I did enjoy the other cooked options here. I started the meal with a hiroshi salad, which had the most amazing ginger dressing, and a rib eye robata skewer while my vegetarian boyfriend started with some veggie dumplings in a plum sauce and a veggie wonton tostada. For our sushi course, I attempted the seared tuna as I expressed to the waiter that I wasn't a raw fish fan and wanted to know what he'd recommend as a gateway. I thought the seared tuna sounded safe being partially cooked and even asked the waiter if they could sear it more than usual. I'm sure he thought I was crazy but I do love cooked tuna. Unfortunately, the tuna was still way to raw for me and I couldn't get over the texture or flavor. I originally planned on ordering the teriyaki as well but it was our last night and we thought we might enjoy a late night meal at Noi instead so I chose not to stuff myself here. Instead, I finished the meal with a delicious cookie martini. read more

We were lucky enough to watch the sunset from our table while we enjoyed our meal. Sadly we were not able to sit outside because of the weather but we were by the large windows. The servers were phenomenal. They made sure everything was perfect. Each plate of food was beautifully presented. read more

The glamor shot photos and videos you will often see of Hiroshi are quite limiting, oddly. They present the space as sterile and devoid of personality. But that is rarely the case in person. Hiroshi is a lovely mix of stylish, chic, elegance and casual. It may appear pretentious, given the formalities and dress code (do not arrive with beach wear, flip flops or too-too casual clothing), but it is not. I give my thanks to the team members, who are open, cordial, caring and welcome -- just like the rest of Mousai. I had the chance to visit multiple times. You arrive at your table to find a reservation card with your name printed. I was less impressed with most of the nigiri and sashimi offerings. They were either cut oddly, doused in some sort of liquid or sauce or did not have the expected depth of flavor. Overall, the nigiri offerings were limited as well. But, note: While Hiroshi markets itself as contemporary and fusion. Asian, the team will present the nigiri and at least some of the sashimi (based on our experience) in as a more traditional offering, so just ask. That aside, I did appreciate the cold and hot dishes and also the sake. The dinner begins with the offering of fruit-infused water. You make your choice at the table: strawberries, lemon, melon, etc. Next comes the amuse bouche. Love, love, love the sea bass atop the wonton! My favorites included the hamachi tartare, which was so lovely with the touch of cavier. The shrimp popcorn was nothing Japanese to me, but rich and filling. Excellent flavor there, and not to be missed. The Sake Citrus roll is lovely and bright. The avocado and eel hand roll, with imitation crab, was beautifully constructed, plump and absolutely delicious. The wonton tostada with tuna tartare was also a favorite. We opted for the outdoor seating on the gorgeous patio. Lovely view! Especially at sunset, which is a favorite time. We also had the benefit of having some visitors -- moths, mostly, which landed some hilarity as they fluttered about and landed on you and others. What a heavenly place. read more

Hiroshi had AMAZING food! Prior to dining I didn't have high expectations due to being in Mexico but their chefs were absolutely stellar. Their service was exceptional and the view was breathtaking. I'd highly recommend dining at this restaurant if you're on the resort but you may want to make a reservation. read more

This is our 5th time indulging in Hiroshi. Between the views, impeccable service, mixologist bartender, and masterful chef, Hiroshi leaves us salivating to return every trip we have to Hotel Mousai. We highly recommend all of the dishes here, but especially the black cod, eel handrolls, black and white tuna, creme brûlée and the vegetable dumplings (for vegetarians.) If you are visiting Puerto Vallarta, please make sure to put this on your list of must eats, as it is abundantly romantic, and delicious beyond all comparison. #114 What an interesting place to dine while in Mexico. From the entrance to the restaurant with a gorgeous view of the ocean, to the life size chess game, to the excellent service and delicious food--again, what a treat! This place is open to the exclusive guests after 6 o' clock. Make sure to make reservations. I am a HUGE sushi fan. I even have a sushi "list" going on Yelp! I was curious to see how sushi in Mexico could stand up to delicious Bay Area sushi. Hiroshi did not disappoint. We were celebrating a birthday in our group so we were already full of surprise shots the bartenders made at the rooftop bar when we arrived for dinner. We began with several pots of sake as we had a group of 12 people. I hope we were not too loud, but in case we were, we left a big tip to say thank you for dealing with us. Finally, our table was ready so we moved our hungry party over to a wonderful table. We started with all the appetizers except for the ramen. Edememe is spicy and delicious. The popcorn shrimp that were inexplicably wonderful. Next we wanted some traditional tempura. The batter was so light and crispy and the veggies simply melted in your mouth. We then ordered several sashimi plates and a few rolls and thought we could just try each other's foods. Well, not so much as the portions are relatively small; however, so super delicious. Chris got the scallops and some little tuna cups. Angel got the spicy tuna and it was tempting, but I got the lobster roll and everyone wanted to try it, so we then ordered two more of those to attempt to satiate everyone. Let's just put it this way: you do not need accoutrements such as soy sauce and ginger or Wasabi for any of the plates. Yeah I just said it. I had the black cod for my main course, which was one of the better pieces of fish I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Mark got the Mahi Mahi and I was a bit jealous, but my cod was amazing so I offered a trade of sample bites and he agreed. I was getting particularly full by this point. Finally, it was time to pay the bill and go back to the room as I felt like I was about to explode. However, yet another surprise from our service staff (we had five different servers--they made sure we never wanted for anything). A birthday song replete with many singers and a delicious dessert offering for the birthday person. Our bill was over $1500, so you might ask, "Was it worth it?" And for this, my only reply would be, "YES! Most definitely worth it." Thank goodness for the all inclusive/exclusive bracelet (not sure what to call that thing). So this restaurant was in the Lobby area of our hotel, which was Hotel Mousai, and I have to say that the views are just incredible here. I had brunch in the front patio, and had sweeping views of the ocean. The decor is simple, yet elegant. I guess I didn't really have the Japanese food here, which would have been the thing to do for lunch and dinner. However, the brunch was excellent as well. In addition to our order, they came around with complimentary starter drink. These occurred at most of our meals on the premises of the resort. The service was excellent. 1. Coffee: Delicious delicious coffee. I realize that it's actually hard to get cream in Mexico. They tend to use whole milk, even when they say it's "cream." Spoiled by half-n-half. 2. Granola bowl with fruit: This was so healthy and good. The fruit was fresh. Excellent! 3. Chilaquiles: I have to say that I was slightly disappointed by this dish. The meat was slightly overdone and the texture itself was decent but not amazing. Great portions though. We got a complimentary dessert which was fruit with some chocolate drizzle and a biscuit. It was overall a great relaxing breakfast with excellent service and high quality food. read more

I love this place! I went for dinner with my family the portions are just right the service was fantastic. Our waiter was jose luis he was very helpful with suggestions on what to try and checked on us frequently. The manager was Francisco and he even came to check on us and offered to give us a tour also very friendly. We had reservations for dinner and as soon as we got there we were greeted with smiles and didn't wait at all for our table definitely will be back on our next trip. Really surprising and creative sushi. We enjoyed dinner here several times while staying on the all-inclusive package at Garda Blanca. Seating is extremely limited so reservations are required - book a few days in advance if possible. As well, they prefer a nicer look, so nice shorts/trousers and polos for guys, casual dresses or trousers/nice top for women. read more

What a wonderful dining experience. We were greeted with a welcome sign at our table with our last names. We ordered several items off of the menu to share and all of them were tasty. The portions were small for the most part, but priced accordingly. Everything was plated beautifully. After dinner I highly suggest going to the rooftop pool at Hotel Mousai. We went there to watch the sunset and were able to capture some gorgeous pictures. The staff was very accommodating i would definitely be interested in going to Hiroshi again during our next visit to PV. read more

Living in the LA Area gives me access to amazing sushi (sashimi, and rolls). I highly recommend the rolls here, the "sake citrus" roll really took me by surprise. Irving "magic man" and Bertin took really good care of us. Ladies try the "Melrose" drink, good stuff! read more
