Just asked if we made a decision after tossing a menu on our table. Was it busy? No. We were the third table there. Food tastes like pure butter and ginger.. We ordered fried rice x2 and somehow they got that wrong and showed face when told it's wrong. Sorry I'm paying for my meal..? When it came to pay the bill, we asked if we could do partial pesos (because we're leaving tomorrow) and remainder card and he immediately said "o keep the pesos for my tip". Coming from Seattle, this was underwhelming and mediocre. I did not order any sushi based on the prior reviews. The restaurant is decorated nicely and bright with cool kimonos on the wall. There's a full bar and a decent beer and wine selection. The vegetable ramen was salty and instead of chopped pieces of bok choy it looks like they use the inside baby pieces that are still yellow and not fully developed. The shrimp bao had over cooked small to medium sized pieces that maybe came from frozen instead of fresh. The bao was made out of was one could consider chewy pizza dough and rolled in cornmeal. Really odd. They could save money by making this part from scratch and freezing the dough in ready made portions. The seaweed salad was good and had a mix of seaweeds and thrown in some mung bean noodles (I'd say) which was weird. The noodle bowl was flavorful with big chunks of chicken breast. Portions were medium sized so if you came very hungry you would want some extra items at the table. For $150, two app, two entrees, and two wines, I feel it's overpriced even for a hotel restaurant given the lack of flavors. I say go into the marina for better quality and value. read more

This restaurant was located in our hotel and thought it would be an easy place to grab dinner on the last night of our trip. The decor was so pretty and the table seating was super comfortable. Our server Ralph was amazing! He was so attentive and kind throughout our meal. My sister and I shared the spring rolls. They weren't my favorite but for the main I ordered the teppanyaki with shrimp. The shrimp was flavorful and I opted for the fried rice of course. I like how the restaurant is laid out and no one feels like they're on top of each other. We had a nice meal when we visited a couple years ago--but that was for the regular table service. This time we opted for the Teppanyaki. Ralph was an amazing server. He was a friendly and attentive--he took excellent care of everyone throughout the meal. I particularly appreciated that after we informed them about daughter's allergies he made sure to bring the head chef over to discuss a plan for her meal. So since I was staying at the Marriott Resort and Spa I decided to see what restaurants I was able to make reservations for and what type of food was available and came across Mikado. I was able to make a reservation through the concierge for same evening. I first reserved a regular table then decided to change it to Hibachi an hour later at the actual restaurant. When I showed up at 8PM for the reservation the hostess somehow forgot she just talked to me like 2 hours before and said I had a regular table but then realized she made a mistake and it was supposed to be Hibachi. I ended up getting a different table with other guests which stated at 8:45. The hostess said the cook was running late and would be there soon. The drinks were very decently priced. I had a Cadillac Margarita and had some Victoria beers. The actual Margarita was pretty good. For food I ordered Egg Rolls and a Caterpillar Roll. For dinner I had the Rib-Eye Steak and came with steamed rice. Steak was seasoned pretty good and was pretty tender. I should have added the lobster tail but maybe next time. The show itself was good. The handling skills of the knives and able to engage with the group was amazing. The cook had each one of us try and crack an egg while having it spin on the grill and throwing it up in the air with a spatula. It was pretty much a fail from all of us haha. It was very good vibes and the groups that joined were very nice. Rib Eye was 430 Pesos which came out to about 23 bucks USD. Not bad for some good food and show. read more

I didn't have one so we just sat at the sushi bar which was totally fine and just as delicious. They have a grill in the back so if you're going for that, you'd definitely need a reservation. I wouldn't normally choose sushi in Mexico but I thought this is the Marriott so they probably have a good standard. We ordered nigiri and sashimi and it was almost inedible. The tuna was so dry. All the fish seemed very very old except for the salmon was medium grade quality and freshness. I gave it 2 stars because The drinks were decent. I have not tried to Teppanyaki which would've probably been better. Rolls might've been better too if they were fried and drenched and sauce so you couldn't taste the bad quality of the fish. We walked out with $100 bill and then went to A little hole in the wall seafood place and got some of the freshest tuna poke for a fraction of the price. read more

Food is not what I would call good Japanese food. After burning 750 calories in the gym and .2 lb fat lighter, I figured I need to replenish my protein. The lady at front said that they could cook Pad Thai vegetarian with egg(s) on the top, I went for it. I also ordered veggie tempura (rationale is that I needed veggies). So I was a little apprehensive about going to a Japanese restaurant in Mexico. Let me say first of all this restaurant is well themed inside and out. The exterior is beautiful with wood framing and ponds with turtles. The place just looks Japanese. It's attached to the Casa Magna Marriott where we were staying. We arrived right at opening time. We were asked if we had a reservation, I said no. She was a little apprehensive about seating us, but said she had a shared table at the habachi grill, exactly what we wanted anyway. We were seated next to another family and the fun started. Typical hibachi magic with the knife and tong play, fire with grease tricks etc. The chefs and waiter were funny and were attentive to your needs. I was super impressed with the quality of food. The fried rice was flavorful, the steamed rice was spot on. I had the ribeye which was more than I expected for flavor and done to my liking. They had a ginger sauce for dipping your meats. This was a hit for me. The shrimp was probably the best though. It tasted very fresh and was grilled perfectly. Order Sapporo beers. It goes so well with your meal.
