Where do we begin…read more The experience my husband Joe and I had with Sonja at Black Dahlia was nothing short of a dream. When we started our wedding process, we had so much anxiety around how we wanted our day to look. We started with just white flowers and some greenery. We had our first appointment with Sonja and right off the bat we vibed with her. She was so patient in trying to understand how we wanted our day to look while also helping us in checking some other things off our list. We left that appointment feeling super connected and trusted her with making our day perfect. We hit that point that I think every couple does, Oh shit I don't know if thats what we actually want! We made another appointment with Sonja, she will do ANYTHING to accommodate you within reason, and we workshopped for almost 3 hours. We left that appointment JAZZED about how our day would look now that we got over the "no color" hump. Cut too our wedding day. When I tell you our day looked like a dream because of Sonja I don't say this lightly. She met us at our hotel with floral we needed for photos, she arrived at the venue early, and made sure everything was perfect. When Joe and I walked into our reception space we nearly passed out. We were moved to tears and I couldn't believe how absolutely PERFECT Sonja made our day. Our guests kept saying our wedding was elegant, classy, not overdone and the word magical kept coming up. Sonja's patience is remarkable and her attention to detail is unmatched. We have her to thank for making our wedding look and feel like a dream. Pinterest aint got NOTHING on our girl Sonja! Big shout out to her hubby who also was a big part of the day supporting setup! We loved our whole experience with her and the team at Black Dahlia, will recommend to all I know! Mucho love Jamie and Joe 11/11/18 (the total pains in the butt)

Back then you…read morecould walk in, get a normal bowling lane, grab an easy pitcher of beer, and actually enjoy a relaxed night out. Those days seem long gone. Now the entire place feels geared almost exclusively toward kids and parties. They only keep the black lights on, which might be fun for children for a while, but not everyone wants to bowl in a dark neon environment the entire time. As a parent myself, I completely understand wanting a family-friendly atmosphere, and I'm all for it. But this place has 20+ lanes across both sides of the building. Why not dedicate some lanes to traditional bowling with regular lighting? Getting a server was nearly impossible, and the drink situation was equally frustrating. The pitchers are absurdly overpriced and the overall experience just feels like style over substance. If you live in Melville and want a more traditional bowling experience, you're basically driving to Syosset or Farmingdale now. It's unfortunate because this place has so much potential, but it feels like it's operating way below what it could be.

There are TVs above the lanes, which adds to the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful overall. One thing to note is that food ordering is done through a tablet at your lane, and they bring everything directly to you. We didn't realize this at first and spent some time looking for a server, so a quick heads-up from staff would've made the experience smoother. Overall, a fun and well-equipped place to bowl and hang out.

The grounds here are lovely and there was no wedding or private event so we got to explore the grounds and rooms which was super cool. The dining area is smaller than expected but that's fine with me - makes it more intimate. The menu is a little limited but I was able to find the pacchieri alà vodka with fresh pasta and I really enjoyed it! I got a mocktail as well, which was also refreshing. For an app we shared the truffle fries because although this is fine dining -fries always hit the spot amirite?! I loved the sorbet dessert, hubs didn't love his as much - an apple pie turnover of sorts. Service was attentive and friendly. I'd return for drinks and an app but it is pretty pricey to come for dinner if it's not a special occasion.

The review is for a day visit. We booked a Tuesday house tour. It lasted for an hour and 15 minutes. The tour guide showed us the special rooms of the house. I loved the gesture of showing us the Castle's most favorite hotel room ... the bridal suite. The view from this room is magnificent. We do our own tour of the garden after lunch. We took our time exploring and enjoyed taking photos. We had a reservation after the tour at its restaurant. The management gave us a10% discount for taking the tour. I made a separate review for its restaurant. The inside of the mansion is meticulously decorated classy. I am impressed how they maintained the house especially their hotel rooms. I can't imagine how magnificent weddings celebrations are being held here. This place is a good venue choice... the huge dining hall and its beautiful ballroom stand out. It is a recommended place to be.

Samir gave us a tour around the entire property and he explains everything, asked all of our questions, & even took photos of us around the venue. He wanted us to cherish our time on the property and be able to go back and look at photos of us on the property just to remember. He was so kind and his customer service skills were above and beyond. When the tour was complete we were offered drinks (even alcohol) and were given tons of pastry treats to try. It was an unbelievable experience. Although it wasn't the right place for us, it can be the right place for someone else!!!! I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out!

The drinks at the open bar were very light, I didn't taste any alcohol. There were multiple weddings going on at same time so that makes the place feel less exclusive. I was surprised the pool wasn't used more. Salad was good, although I wish it came with another dressing not thousand island. For my dinner entree I got chicken Milanese which was good, except the mash potatoes were a bit undercooked. Viennese dessert table was good. Also they never gave us coffee with dessert. I know it's a wedding so they have to serve a lot of people at once so I'm going to give it a pass. But I had to take off one star for the young valet since when he bought the car over he turned my car ignition when it was still on causing it to make a weird noise two times in front of me. It's not a fancy car it's a Honda. He seemed absentminded and clueless, maybe took too much weed.. and I can't imagine how they could handle fancy cars that people drive.. next time I would stay away from the valet if I could.

I was spoiled and pampered and just 24 months ago found out what the Michelin Star rating for a restaurant meant. I had no clue prior.Great for the photos, the hey I was there, the ego, the bucket list .... But here is the true, unassuming champ of all these hotels ;also part of the Marriot network including Ritz Carlton and it is located right here where I grew up - Long Island. I am glowingly talking about the Four Points by Sheraton in Plainview/ Melville on the South service road of the Expressway aka my HOME away from HOME. The people here - the staff are indeed the most important asset and they are golden, they are solid and consistent. Hailey - Manager Extraordinaire- amazing, professional, caring, proactive, so very patient, a genuine person, kind and very aware. She sets the bar for excellent natural customer service. Plus a huge sushi fan and just fun to talk to. Brianna - a great and beautiful soul who is also my foodie pal and just so efficient and calm. She is so effortless & soft spoken yet great and solid at the front desk multitasking between housekeeping staff, a guest checking out, another buying a Cup of Noodles and the phone ringing; making all happy and satisfied with a smile. Superstar Brianna. Nirmala- outstanding person, very caring, on top of everything, always finds a solution. Clifton - the stellar Chef! He is the nicest, most friendly, aware, courteous, humble, outward and super quick Manager/Chef/ all hat wearing Skipper who has this beautiful and great energy; he feeds all of us with the best special omelettes and those killer potatoes. He has become a dear friend as we speak often about our families and better halves. This hotel used to be a motel. It is clean, maintained well; the suites are spectacular, spacious and comfortable. The beds are comfy. I slept really well. The seating area in the suites is roomy and inviting. The showers are strong . The housekeeping team always smiles and is so helpful. The location is so convenient- just off Sunnyside Blvd on the Long Island Expwy only 28 miles from Manhattan and 21 from JFK airport. There are great restaurants in Plainview and Melville close by and the one n only Ralphie's Cafe is a 77 second walk from the lobby. The prices are great.
