The hostess was rude and she was too busy chatting with her family to attend to her paying customers. Waited 1 hour for our food. When we finally started to be served the food was cold, pancakes and hashbrowns were under cooked and in a pool of oil. Worst service and food I have ever experienced. I usually will try a restaurant a few times before never going back. But this was hate at first sight. Never will try this place again. Lost my business. I will go out of my way to avoid this place. After waiting at least 5 minutes to be seated and several people telling us the hostess would seat us we finally were seated. After being seated I asked the hostess if they had an empty salt shaker. (My son thinks the salt is sand and will dump it on the table to drive his little toy truck apart.) The hostess returns, no we don't have any empty ones. Uh ok. (He will play with an empty one just as much as one that has any in it.) My son is playing with the salt shaker and his truck. Being quiet and good. Along comes another young last who says " here I will take the salt and pepper shakers" I politely replied with, no hes fine. Along comes our waitress, I asked if it was a problem and if we needed to leave. She told us no, it was fine and to just please not push the salt on the floor, ok I get that. We eat our meal, all while my son is still being quiet and good, keeping the salt in a small area on the table. We cleaned it ALL up. Put it in the little container that the sugars usually go in so it wouldn't make a bigger mess on the table. Our waitress disappeared, another young lady brought out our check. I asked her if my son was causing an issue. She said yes, our manager has a problem with it because it's wasted product. Now mind you the salt shaker wasn't even half full! They charged me for the salt. Seriously, if the Manger had THAT much of a problem with it, why would they not come out and say something? I left the table AND floor as clean as it was when we sat down. The floors around us had food and whatnot all over them. We felt like we were causing a huge scene trying to enjoy our lunch as several of the workers just stared at us. Service is a bit sloooooow. Waiting 15 minutes now for the appetizer...oh it's here. Deep fried mashed potato bites, lukewarm. Sent them back. Did I mention there are three other parties here? Three. Appetizer finally came after our main meals. Ordered grilled ham and cheese, tasty. The onion rings were greasy and tasted funny. The long-awaited potato bites were still lukewarm, and not bite sized. Needed salt and maybe some red pepper flakes to spark some taste. Any taste at all. We found the Hitching Post to be just ok. The burger and French dip were a bit dry. The fries looked fantastic but missed the mark. This restaurant has severely went down hill after changing hands, and is just the same below grill cook/microwave/ precooked items you get from the side of the road with reran age level cooking you find anywhere! The roast beef is store bought pre-sliced you get from the grocery, and gravy from a bag mix! Service is below standard, and the female manager is by far the worst customer relations manager I've seen in my 35 years in the food and beverage industry! With any effort a restaurant can do better than this! Salads bar is the only semi-redeeming thing about the poorly managed restaurant! Try making a homemade chicken fried steak in the 10 oz size a signature dish, instead of a frozen out of the box with dry mix gravy, and you'd have a start at a decent place to eat! read more

I had the Chicken Alfredo, it was amazimg. However my partner had the French Dip and the cheese was to hot, so we asked to have it re-made with some different cheese. Came here for dinner based on hotel recommendation. I ordered a steak and after two attempts, the chef apparently does not know how to make steak as each steak was WAY over cooked. I asked for the manager who happened to. E my server and she was a complete idiot and she found the need to tell me to watch my tone as I was pissed off at this point. What a great breakfast! I had a half portion meat skillet and added a side of avocado. Eggs were perfect medium and the crispy potato wedges underneath were the best. Coffee was piping hot and never ran low in our cups. Hubby had the chicken fried steak skillet and it was huge ! Also delicious. Our server S Brand was awesome! She was friendly and was attentive. First ate here over 40 years ago when it was the Mustang cafe and bar. All of the locals hung out drinking coffee and catching up on the latest gossip. Miners, railroaders, oil field workers and genuine hard working cowboys. Breakfasts were the high point at the mustang. I could make $20 last a whole week by eating three meals a day there. As far as Green River goes this is probably the most likely to have a good American style meal. Usually good food, usually decent service.

Good menu, with quite a few options and dinner specials. All plates were huge with choice of potatoes and veggies. Adding the salad bar was a bargain...oh man really just too much.food. This place is a bargain to boot...definitely recommend, and service was fast. read more

The everything skillet is disappointing it always seems to have more black olives than anything, it's supposed to have chopped ham, bacon and sausage you'd be lucky to get the equivalent of a half of a piece of bacon, half a sausage link and a silver dollar sized piece of ham. We stopped here on our way taking a load home to California. The reviews on yelp helped to make our decision. We were so sick of truck stop food. The breakfast was awesome. My husband had the rib eye and eggs. You just can't get a steak in a coffee shop that tender and tasty in California. My ham and eggs were great. I chose toast and he a pancake which was huge. The waitress was nice but I noticed she didn't seem as happy as the other workers to be there. I figured it was because work is work. Was eating here twice to three times a week but never again. I tried to call to place an order over the phone and kept getting busy signal, so I went down to restaurant to place my order. Pulled up told the waitress about the phone and all good. I placed my order and when I got home both orders were wrong! This usually doesn't bother me but since I had just paid 40+ dollars for two burgers I called the restaurant. I was told that it was tough and that they had got my order right. I was then pit on the phone with the manager who called me a liar and that I got the burger I asked for cause they were sitting at the bar and heard the whole thing. So, since I don't take to kindly to being called a liar especially since I know I wasn't lying I asked if they could tell me what I looked like since it had only been 10-15 min and they were having a slow period. They stated that they wasn't paying that much attention but heard me say the order. I then asked if they heard any conversation about a telephone they said they couldn't recall. The manager then hung up on me. To make a long story short please go somewhere else to eat.
