This is a fun little diner on the south end of Bloomington. I went there to try out their breakfast during a snowstorm, and the waitress described being in the restaurant at the time like being in a snow globe. I think she was right. The staff are all very friendly and take care of you while you're there. The menu is a little confusing, so it might take a minute to figure out how to navigate it and understand what exactly comes with this or that type of meal. The food was good, though you can probably tell in the photos that the English muffins were overcooked and the omelette was a bit dry. This might be due to the breakfast rush starting to slow down, but the pancake was one of the best I've had in a long time. What a fantastic diamond experience. You're looking for a diner you better stop here. As soon as I pulled in, and I saw the sheriff deputy's leaving I knew this was the local place to stop. Extremely friendly waitress, taking care of the whole place by herself. About 10 tables on an early Tuesday morning. Everything is cooked order of fresh bread. Decent, busy place, American food, reminds you of what Denny's once was-- back when they could cook. Specializes in breakfasts, although there are many standards. Has booths, 4x tables, and these tables can be pushed together for larger gatherings. It's noisy, and the food is good. Fresh ingredients, and the chefs seem to know how to do short-order cooking quickly, efficiently, and with good flavors. This is not miraculous, it's good for a meal, maybe not a date, and the prices are pretty reasonable. Went to Cloverleaf this evening for dinner. I noted to Yelp that the hours have changed and they are now open until 7:00PM. They had tried evening hours before, changed their mind, and now they're back. It wasn't crowded which is a shame because it's a terrific late night option on the south side of town, and those are few and far between. Typical diner atmosphere, pricing and selections. I'd give 4 stars for breakfast as well, but this happens to be an evening review. They have great crowds in the morning pretty much every day. Service was great - only one server working but she was very friendly and attentive. Refills were quick, food was quick to our table. We usually are trying to get in and out, so this is a great option for us. We shared onion rings (very good) for an appetizer. Wife had the western omelette with has browns and toast. Son had Belt Stretcher with eggs over easy, bacon (a ton of bacon), hash browns and toast plus an order of French toast. He loves their French toast. I usually order breakfast but went wild and ventured to order breaded chicken strips with double fries. I did it because it's what I had at a different restaurant last night and didn't like them there, but these were great. Hot, crispy, and plenty of them. The fries were great - maybe not the healthiest option to go double fries, but I wanted them. Maybe that New Year's resolution can start next week. After just getting into the groove of dining out again, I've been back to Cloverleaf a couple of times. I had memories of that great little diner with the really good food and the great menu! And now! The food is... fine. The menu is... fine. The 3.5% surcharge if you use a card - stinks. If you want to save a little, take cash. They now pass along their merchant cost for debit/credit cards instead of just raising their prices a little. On a previous visit I had a turkey manhattan as the beef is no longer on the menu. It used to be a favorite and it used to be fantastic! The turkey is... fine. If you're near one, you'll probably enjoy your meal. If you're elsewhere, consider other options, especially those downtown. And if you want a roast beef manhattan like I do, head for the B-Town Diner. They still serve it! read more

Took us over an hour to get food, while watching 3 tables of people that came in after us eat. We ordered nothing fancy, nothing special order. Just bacon, eggs, etc. We were told that the kitchen was backed up twice. At the hour and ten min mark when the third excuse about the kitchen came it was training new people. I then ask are they all training on only our food because everyone in this section that arrived after us is eating... Miraculously, our food appeared two minutes later and tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for a week!!! Do yourself a favor and skip it!!! read more

This is the best location. They are often very busy in the morning, but it's a wonderful experience. Servers are kind and on top of it. Food is awesome. I normally get a bacon sandwich on white because I LOVE their bacon. It's the best bacon in B-town in my opinion. Really enjoyed our brunch! We were visiting Lake Monroe from out of state and saw the reviews in this place and thought we'd try it. It was great! Hubby had the tenderloin breakfast #9 and said it was delicious. Tenderloin was melt in your mouth good. Opt for the 3D fried potatoes instead of hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly and toast was liberally buttered. Fantastic and delicious! I had the #13 skillet. Very tasty and not over cooked like many scrambled skillets. We both had 1/2 biscuits and gravy - also delicious! Not salty so you can add your own to taste and also pepper. Makes it perfect for both of us! We will definitely be back when we are here next time! Oh and our server was absolutely lovely and very attentive despite having a ton of tables and running around like crazy. Little diner out past South high school. Pros: (1) Large restaurant that makes it easy to get seating without any wait (2) Affordable Prices (3) Good and Friendly Service Cons: (1) Food quality. It was all kind of blah. Nothing memorable at all. The hash browns were actually not good at all, which seems hard to do. (2) You come out smelling like oil. I hate that in a restaurant. This is at their southside location, they have another location on the westside of town. I enjoyed the B-Town burger VERY much. It was juicy, but not greasy. The bun was fresh and toasted perfectly. The breaded onions were a great addition. The fries (not included, but well worth the additional $3) were hot and plentiful. The slaw, which is included, was just the way I like it, dressing was more milk based than mayo. Overall, I would highly recommend this location of Cloverleaf. Pretty decent, seat yourself location, place was hopping at 10 am on a Thursday seems like they have a lot of local action going on. Server hit us up as soon as we came in gave us some time with the menus food was out within ten minutes. Got the ultimate omelette with a side of sausage, brother got the egg sandwich was pretty good but english muffin needed more toasting. Coffee was decent and price point is excellent. Menu is huge and portions are ample, the also sell cakes and pies to go. This was pretty good for what it is, if I wanted a cheap breakfast meal again I wouldn't hesitate to hit this up. read more

We went there after doing our laundry at Zens. We thought it would be a great place to eat a breakfast foe lunch. It was hot and stuffy in there. We sat ourselves... the tables were disgusting... the waitress did not even look at us.. she turned her back on us when taking our order.... Cloverleaf is probably my most favorite local restaurant in Bloomington. We may be bias because we live right around the corner, but that doesn't change the fact that this place delivers. The restaurant has provided consistently delicious food without any complaints and I'm pleased every time I come in. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, or a down-home dinner, Cloverleaf has you covered. In fact, this restaurant has gotten me to enjoy breakfast again. Cloverleaf is usually busy on the weekends, but the wait staff are always friendly and upbeat. Does the restaurant deliver five-star quality? Maybe not, but that's not what they're trying to do.
