Poor communication. I dropped the car off for an oil change, tire rotation and fluid and filter check at 11am. No call until I called them at 4p when they said it was done. The gal said the tech said he called and left a message - I didn't get a message. When I picked it up she said she was sorry she didn't call. Also, no tire rotation because they couldn't find the lug lock key. A simple call to me would have helped. Instead they skipped the tire rotation. Also didn't get any notes on fluid levels, filter quality and any other observations. Their customer service quality was lacking today. Isn't likely that I'll return. read more

I bought some tires from an RV dealer in Oregon. They had 3000 miles on them. They were an excellent shape. I saw them come off the RV and I did an inspection and they were all in perfect condition. I've used highway fuel for the last nine years and I've been happy with their service so far, they want the cheapest but they were friendly and attentive, but it seems like in all relationships once there's a hiccup you really find out the true nature of the person when the tires were installed by highway fuel one of them leaked I thought I had a bit of bad luck and went to another tire dealership Les Schwab to have it inspected they removed a tire and found some damage that happened on the install. They marked it. They tried to repair it and they told me to keep an eye on it two days later the tire failed. I went back and I spoke to one of their technicians and they suggested that I use my spare and they mounted it. I thought they would do this free of charge since I've already paid them for the install and now I'm out of tire that they damaged but no they said your Bill is inside. I said My Bill so the owner Scott was standing there who I asked to speak to originally when I walked in and Scott said he had no idea what was going on after explaining the situation of Scott. He told me that the tire would not fail because of the damage that was caused to the install that he doesn't know why the tire failed but still charged me $32.50 to remount a tire. I took the tire back to Les Schwab with the damage and I asked to see their manager and their manager explained to me that sure enough that damage would cause a slow leak and that they tested the tire and there was no other problems with it so for $32.50 highway fuel and Scott gets this review read more

I took my truck in to get my Air Conditioner serviced. They called me about 4 hours later and said it was ready. I went to pick it up and they couldn't find the invoice. After about fifteen minutes and me telling them 3 times what my last name was, they found it. They had my last name, address and description of my truck Wrong! I paid the bill and drove off. I didn't hear anything, so I called on the second day for an update and was told that they don't do rainwater leaks. Why would they not tell me this when I called to book the appointment? This is where I learned that not only had they not fixed the issue, they had left the car overnight out in the rain so that it could fill with water. I have brought all of my work here for the past ten years. I have always been impressed with their work and their labor rates. They had gained my complete trust. A couple of days ago I had some work done and noticed on the invoice that the labor hours have increased by 54% for the same job on the same car. I suppose that with their new affiliation with a group called Point S they are now using a new estimator program that gives them a fat increase in labor time compared to their previous program. Mine went from 1.3 hours to 2.0 hours. Most people would likely never detect this change but I keep records. I really hate this but I will be looking for a different place to go for my future service needs. I regret that I became abusive to their service manager who probably had nothing to do with this. Nor are they open on Saturday. I don't know about any one else, but i personally go to work Monday-Friday, and need an appointment late afternoon or Saturday. Twice my husband has been pumping his truck for diesel and twice the nozzle has failed to click off when it's full, diesel has dumped all over the side of his truck. Both times he tried to get help to have someone wash it off the side of his truck and every single person pointed him to someone else, nobody cared. Made an appnt a week in advance for a transmission flush. Asked for the first appnt of the day so I could get out quickly. I arrived 10 minutes before they said they were open, and got the car to the underwriter. I went to get a haircut. After an hour and 20 minutes I walked into the shop, only to find that they had not got my car into the shop even yet. After over two hours I got my vehicle. I wanted to try and work with a local company, but that was a mistake. They knew I was displeased with the service, but I did not even get an apology from them. Take your business outside of the Washougal/Camas area. I know I will in the future. They have shown me they do not care. Quicklube shop: The kids in the service bay do an okay job but I have performance vehicles which require certain specialized parts and care. I had to take one back after an oil change to have them put on the filter I requested initially, after I noticed engine noise on startup due to oil starvation. The cheap filter they put on did not have an anti-drainback valve (a must for this vehicle - the OEM filters have it). The quicklube shop should get a lower rating because they have a 'use this material, it's cheaper' mindset; but I give them a 3 overall, because they do make an effort to do a good job. If you haven't anywhere else to go, then they will do. Regular auto shop: I have had regular work done in the shop and Rod is a total pro in the way he runs the shop. I give the auto shop a full 5 because they are alert and take pride in their work, going extra steps to make a customer happy. Car wash: The car wash skimps big time on soap and wax products. You can get a MUCH better car wash with a much better-maintained washing machine at the Shell up by the freeway at the west end of Camas, it is so worth the ten minutes to drive over there. Your vehicle comes out so much cleaner than at Hi-Way. The guys running the wash at Hi-way just don't care. You point out bugs that the wash left on the vehicle and they reluctantly run it back through, but make absolutely no extra effort to make sure the car gets clean for the second time through. I give the car wash a 1 because it can only rinse the car. Summary: The management is trying to get every single buck out of the place and it shows, not only in the car wash (which is a license to print money in this part of the county), but elsewhere. It shows in little things like the sad, tired chairs in the waiting area. I've run out of patience and have completely quit patronizing them. I don't even buy fuel there anymore. read more

My father and I frequented this business since we have lived in Washougal. I was in a minor car accident a few weeks ago. I was turning in and the oncoming car was not looking and banged right into my right side. We get out and exchange information and about to go on our way, I even asked the guy I got into an accident why he didn't stop or see me and he couldn't even answer me. He knew it was his fault. I go to drive away and I see some short, fat, balding guy jump in a gold cart and speed over to the guy I got into an accident with. So I go back over and ask what they were talking about and the short fat guy that is the "manager" of the car wash at Hi Way Fuel starts being oddly rude to me, didn't want to tell me what they were talking about and said I was lucky the guy that HIT ME did't T bone me. He said he "saw the whole thing" which is BS there is no way he was watching me the entire time I turned around to turn into their business. He was so rude to me (a female trying to talk to 3 males) I was shaking. They were all 3 putting the blame on me when it was comepletly not my fault. Why does this guy care? I called to speak with the manager later that day because it bothered me so badly how rude this random fat guy was to me and the manager couldn't believe how rude the guy was and said he should have been impartial. I've been going in the highway fuel for many many years for oil changes. They've been a company that I have trusted without question. Until recently! When you're getting oil change and they bring the air filter in to you to show you the dirty filter. Make sure that they put a new one in for you they did that I told them to change it out I get home and it's the same filter I had from before I question whether or not they're changing the oil filters as well do your due diligence and make sure that they've done what they say they're going to do otherwise you're going to be pissed off like I am right now. No I haven't went in to talk to him but from this point on I will still use them for oil changes but I'm marking all my filters to verify that they've been changed it's a sad day for trust broken read more

Hi Way fuel does not stand by their service. I took my ATV there to have my tires changed. The guy over inflated my the tire and it broke the bead. It was completely his fault, it was not to exceed 35lb of PSI. The owner Scott said too bad sorry for your luck, and will not replace the tire. I usually have my rig serviced there, but now I will go somewhere else. I am on a fixed income and saved every penny I could to buy the tires, to have one I need to replace is very hard. My word of advice is to have your rigs serviced somewhere else! read more

I just had a tune up done at HiWay Fuel on my old commuter car. 19 years of age and still going strong (the car that is). As for some previous reviews, I get my oil changed there and have no complaints. If I needed a special filter for my high-performance racing machine, I'd buy that filter to have them put it on. They'll even discount what they normally charge for their filter. For a $30 oil change, I think it's outstanding and I don't mind the "old-tymee" waiting room with the free popcorn. It's a mechanic's shop, not the Ritz. Further, the car wash does a great job. If you're a little dirty or bug-encrusted, try tipping the kids a buck or two at the time of payment and they'll really ensure that the pre-soak gets to every luscious orifice. Had these guys look at a code on our car. Turned out to be the PCV valve. They recommended replacing the belts at the same time since they were worn. I told them to go ahead. It seemed okay when I picked it up (and the code was gone) for a tune of ~$400 but the next morning the alternator belt was squealing. We live an hour out of Washougal, so I made an appointment the next week at the same time as another appointment in the same neighborhood. When I dropped the car off and said I'd be back in an hour, the woman at the counter literally laughed in my face and said that I could not get same day service. So I took it home and fixed it myself. Two months later, the same issue with the PCV valve is back. I think I'll take it somewhere else this time. read more

I will never have any work done at highway fuel ever again. I brought my truck in to have the rear axle seals replaced along with over $2,600 worth of work. I asked to have the rear differential checked because it was making a bad clunk. I was told everything was fine. I still had a clunk in the rear end so they tell me all the other things that it could be. six months later find out they never even removed the differential cover making it hard to check the diff. When they finally did they tell me it's gonna take another $2,400 to fix it. They charged me to throw parts at a bad reared. They lied to me the whole time. I was just told that they were not in the wrong and are not going to do anything to make it right for me. read more

Took my gton mustang in wasn't running right told the lady at the place that I noticed some older cracked vacuum line's she wrote it down on a big desktop planner by the way she acted irritated she had to help me any way they told me after a few days that my ignition module was glitching so they're ganna replace it and a new coil it was going to be about 370 or something I okayed it it ended up costing too and put a new distributor in without permission whatever if it's fixed fine well they didn't fix it it's still running the same and I just found out it's needing the timing chain gear and or chain replaced thank you highway fuel read more

We have a couple of older vehicles in our "stable" of cars and they need maintenance for relatively odd things like: (1) mice ate through the plastic-like fuel line tubing and had to be replaced as we left a trail of gas when we drove, (2) window washer pump died so no spray on the windshield happening, (3) oil valve gasket deteriorated and developed leak spraying over insides of engine compartment, (4) timing chain going out, etc. In each instance, HiWay fuel charged less than the local dealership would for the same fix and did it efficiently and quickly. Hey, one time I bought the part to do myself, then decided I couldn't do it and they happily accepted the part and did the labor only. I asked them one time if they could put the car's new air filter on for me - I was used to the easy-to-change carburetor style filters and was stymied on how to do it on our newer model car during the heavy smoke last summer - and they showed me how to do it - no charge, too! Nice! My one, relatively minor, complaint is that every now and then, when you leave a car to be fixed, they forget to call you when its done; so, I recommend you call them around the time they promised it to be finished unless you're fine with picking it up 5-6pm or so or not until the next day. read more

I made a last minute appointment yesterday afternoon to have a pre purchase inspection done on a used vehicle. The woman said I could drop off the vehicle at noon today, but because of scheduling it probably wouldn't be looked at until 1. We were late, showing up about 1220 because of complications at the car lot (the car wasn't there) but Brenda was totally okay with it. I got back to work at 105 to find I had a voice-mail from 10 minutes before. Not only had someone checked the car earlier than I was told, they did an initial test drive, and lifted it up. They were calling to tell me what issues they saw already and that they didn't want to waste an hour of my money on an inspection that they didn't think was worth it. Needless to say, i didnt end up purchasing the vehicle. But these folks saved me so much time and money! I firmly believe I have now found an honest, accommodating shop. I will be recommending this place to everyone and will take my business there once I do find a car. read more
