I think Ho Mei is by far the best bang for your buck in Denver. For $7 you can get a HUGE plate of food plus and a side and a drink. They aren't stingy at all on their portions here, and honestly 1 of their meals is enough to feed 2 people. Is the food the best? No. But for $7 you can't expect it to get a Michelin star. It's on par with Panda Express, but much cheaper. They serve people lunch line style, so it's very quick and efficient. The restaurant seemed clean, and there is space to eat there if you want (although most people take it to go). I wish it stayed open later!

She LOVE HO MEI food!! We both do!

OHHH I have been cheating, and this place is not much to look at, it is a TAKE FOOD OUT PLACE! But!! Service is more than pleasant: "you don't want more food!" NO! My dog and I can't eat that much, then we no charge, yes you must charge me for your food. This goes on for a few moments, and I do pay for what my dog and I can eat. Geezzz I hope you are laughing when reading this! Becuz it's a true story over the last 6 months when I found this corner Asian eatery with great food. We only order 2 things each time, the same delicious items! The Portions are huge: I have to plead, as in "BEG! PLEASE NOT SO MUCH FOOD!!" I love the fried rice and shrimp without the peppers, SO DOES MY DOG!! It is CHEAP AND HUGE! Litterally I must beg, please LESS FOOD! And the cost of the delicious Rice & Shrimp (am admitting as a vegetarian, I love their fried Shrimp) so does my dog, she salavates for the tails! This is a giggle, yet, off of Sheridan and 38th, there is a little side parking spot, people move in and out quickly, while inside are the incredible aromas of multiple choices of everything that might be at an expensive location. The interior is not great, my dog and I go to the park to eat and enjoy the fare of meal for just $5.25 HUGE PORTIONS, I can't eat that much, my dog does! IT'S DANG GOOD! NOW I'M HUNGRY~ We have to go and beg PLEASE NOT SO MUCH OF YOUR GREAT FOOD!

You know, sometimes cheap Chinese food hits the spot and Ho Mei is my go to in the Wheat Ridge area. How can you possibly argue with $6.55/absolutely PACKED plate that includes 1 main dish (fried rice or lo mein), 2 sides (my favorite are orange chicken and jalapeno chicken), and a choice of an appetizer (egg roll or 2 cheese wontons)? That's right, you can't. I would highly recommend getting the hot and sour soup as well which is $2.00 for a small container and $4.00 for large (large will probably feed 2-3 people) as well as the hot chili sauce for $0.25 each. Check it out!

The restaurant was clean, the food is good, the service was efficient and the price was really good. I was surprised at how much we liked everything, the kung pao was my favorite. It had huge chunks of veggies which were cooked perfectly and just enough spice to make you know it's there. They have about 3 booths and a few tables to sit at and eat. It's served in a container to go and the lady I had pilled it in there! Worth the price, you get a soda and egg roll with the meal for around $6.50. I'll be back

Little place. Keeps their food hot-to-serve!

As if the area didn't make me uncomfortable enough! There is graffiti all over their bathrooms and the smell of grease is apparent throughout the restaurant. I tried getting a veggie delite but even that made me queasy (I think there is chicken in the chow-mein), but at least there is a good drink selection.

    Orange chicken and Jalapeno chicken

Holy crap. The portions, the flavor and the price are all hard to beat. A combo meal, priced at $6.85, is easily enough for 2 meals potentially 3 if you're not a big eater. Both the orange chicken and the jalapeño chicken were fantastic. Couldn't recommend this place more

I love it here!!! Our GO TO Cheap Chinese Food Place! Always clean, always fresh honestly never disappoints. Very Covid safe with clear barriers making me feel comfortable to eat here. Thank you HO Mei !

$5ish combo includes eggroll and soda!

The portion of food and drink for $5 you cannot beat. I went here toward the end of the day so the items to pick were on the low side, so I ventured out of my usual by ordering sesame chicken. It was a bit heavy on the breading so I'd get something other than that or orange chicken. I thought ordering the bbq pork would be too much but it looked good and the guy behind me received a huge helping of it. The noodles were very basic without much vegetables. Other than this though we enjoyed everything else. I would get food there again hopefully when there are more items like salt and pepper shrimp.

The food was so MMMMM. They rly loaded my plate up (If u think this plate is loaded, it was way loaded before I ate some). ALL FOR UNDER $8!!! I even got two cream cheese wontons and a soda. once again, UNDER $8. Also very generous with the soy sauce. The photo of me and my friend is how we felt after. Service 100000/10.

I had the Walnut Shrimp lunch special for $12.95. This came with a choice of soup, I had the Hot & Sour Soup which was quite tasty, It also came with a choice of one egg roll or two crabmeat cheese wontons. I had the egg roll & it was good...nice & crispy. In addition, I chose fried rice, (or you could have steamed). The fried rice was yummy, some of the best I've had. The shrimp were wonderful, crispy battered, big & super flavorful, lots of walnuts, topped with a light sauce, that was sweet & creamy. What a great meal, I'm looking forward to my next Tea Garden visit.

Honestly, if this soup were a person, I'd leave it everything in my will. Consistently perfect, which is saying a lot in a world full of disappointing sequels and watery broths. My dining partner, loyal as ever, ordered the sesame chicken--a classic, reliable, sticky-sweet MVP. It's the kind of dish that knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to be anything else. Like your favorite 90s sitcom: comforting, predictable, and always leaves you a little happier than when you started. You can't go wrong with it unless you're one of those people who thinks ketchup is spicy. Now, me--I decided to get bold. Brave. Adventurous, even. I ordered the Sizzling Scallop and Beef because I saw the word "sizzling" and got all hot and bothered. Let's just say... the dish sizzled more in concept than execution. First, the beef and scallop themselves? Decent. The scallops had a nice sear and weren't rubbery, so no complaints there. The beef was tender-ish, not a shoe sole, and full of flavor so points for that too. But the vegetables--oh, the vegetables--were clearly having an identity crisis. Undercooked and a little stringy in that "did-we-even-try?" sort of way. I love a crisp snap pea as much as the next food snob, but I didn't come here to gnaw through a jungle. Now for the plot twist: there was fruit in the mix. Surprise! Normally I'd raise an eyebrow, but shockingly, the fruit was the best part--sweet, juicy, and weirdly harmonious with the seafood and beef. It was like a B-list actor who unexpectedly steals the movie. Didn't see that coming, but hey, at least someone showed up to perform. Final verdict: Hot and Sour Soup - Still my ride or die. Sesame Chicken - Reliable boyfriend material. Sizzling Scallop and Beef - Gave me a lukewarm hug and asked me to pretend it was fire. Would I go back? Obviously. Would I order the sizzling mystery again? Only if I'm in the mood to chew through missed potential. Stick with the classics, folks. They're classics for a reason. Next time I'll go with the mushroom beef, it was my happy place last time.

For most of the time, the main service problem was that the chief waitress was often obnoxious and loud. But we put up with that until they committed an act of rudeness such that I had never experienced before in a restaurant. The events occurred on an evening in which we brought guests with us: two other adults and their two small children. They had a series of take-out orders that evening, which they were prioritizing over in-restaurant customers. For about a half hour the staff simply refused to take our order, telling us to wait and order later. Eventually, they agreed to take our drink requests---which, except for water, never came. Meanwhile, people were coming in and picking up food regularly, while we sat there and they refused to even let us get into the order queue! Finally, after we'd been there at least 45 minutes, the kids were hungry and restless, so we started to leave. The waitress saw us leaving, and came over and disingenuously asked whether we wanted to order now. We said that because of the children we couldn't wait any longer, and we left. This contemptuous treatment of faithful in-restaurant customers was too much for us, and we have never gone back.
