Thinking about this 1 whole year later and needed to update this review. Unfortunately, I think this is the worst pad Thai in Denver. Hopefully they have changed the recipe.

Eating Soup with a FORK, full of veggies and noodles

For a very small place, FLAVORS ARE AMAZING! The gentleman serving was the waiter, bartender, cleaner and possibly sometimes the cook!!!! INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING COMMITTMENT! The Service was Prompt and friendly, The waiter offered my Aspen a cosy place to sit and grinned when he saw that Aspen LOVES SHRIMP (see photos). Have you ever eaten soup with A FORK, I had to at Udon (!!) and it was Delicious. My food came out rapidly, and the Service was beyond reproach. Also the waiter checked on us "Appropriately" and smiled each time he viewed my Shrimp Eating Service Dog! I was amazed why this Darling place Ubon Thai was not busier. It has been a long time since visiting Highlands area! My favorite restaurants from long ago are gone such as Denver Bread Company, Maria's & BANG were replaced, Must Visit all the newbies; yet there are plenty of wonderful place such as Ubon Thai who have moved in. Ubon Thai is quaint, seating up about 60 people; sit either at the bar or tables. Not only was the service and food impressive, BUT the LOVELY CLEAN BATHROOM!! I had to take a photo, it is lovely and roomy. I do not have one improvement idea that could augment our experience; Udon was thoroughly enjoyable, (I do believe it was the same restaurant location as BANG, which was very popular, now UDON Thai hopefully will thrive as well. The hours are clearly on the door, 11:00AM to 9:00PM. The front area is full of cleaned windows to peer inside. And I had to Eat my Soup with a Fork, the Thai food was DELICIOUS and PLENTY, had to take a nice recyclable container with Aspen & myself. Surely will be returning visiting some other places, from the familiar past to new places.

This was my second time here, first time was delivery. Both times the food was sooo tasty. First time I got medium plus spice and my mouth was on fire. This time I got medium and it was just right. So much flavor in every dish, I really can't pick a favorite. Bf got pad Thai and drunken noodles the first time, both really good. I order the pad see ewe because of the the broccoli- crunchy and flavorful. Tried the Tom Yum the first time and really enjoyed it but had to try the Tom Kha this time and wow! I will be back!

Very tasty Thai restaurant in the heart of Lowell Highlands - went here for dinner around 8PM on a Friday with a group of four. We got Pad See Ewe, Drunken Noodles, Fresh Ginger entree and pineapple basil fried rice. I thought the ginger entree was delicious - super gingery and had a tasty sauce. The servers were friendly and checked to make sure we were enjoying everything. I found the prices quite reasonable, especially for the highlands area. Will be back!

Came here for lunch with a coworker in the beginning of the week. It was a cold day and warm Thai food sounded like the perfect solution. It was a later lunch which lead to the whole place to ourselves. The decor is welcoming, hip and cozy (it's a smaller place probably around 25-30 seats total). The waiter came over promptly and took our order-- I went with the red curry with chicken (medium spice) and my company ordered the yellow curry with tofu (medium spice)-- we had a choice of white or brown rice. The food came out hot and quickly. The flavor was ok-- VERY heavy on the cream in the curry which I felt like took away from the curry spices & flavors. The veggies & chicken portion was also fair compared to the price.

Vegan pad khee mao with tofu is WOW!

The food is stellar. The service was on point at an off hour. The space is kitchsy-eccletic-cute.

    Crab Rangoon and hot sake

The food is flavorful and fresh, the staff is friendly and attentive, it's a great place to catch up with loved ones over a meal. I highly recommend their drunken noodles, their thai tea and their mango sticky rice!!

I ordered takeout, and before I even got to the food, the customer service stood out. The woman at the front, who I think may be the owner, was so kind and funny. She even walked my bag out from behind the counter to hand it to me personally and sent me off with so much warmth. Small gesture, but it honestly made the experience memorable. Now the food...wow. The Jalapeño Crab Cheese Wontons were packed with flavor and came with the perfect sweet/spicy dipping sauce. The Pork Roti was unreal and officially a must-order for me moving forward. I kept taking bites trying to figure out what ingredient made it taste THAT good. Then the Khao Soi with fried chicken completely sealed the deal. That curry deserves to be bottled and sold in stores. Go support this business. You can taste the care in both the food and the service.

Service was quick to take the order, refill water and clear out empty plates/steamer baskest. The dishes coming out of the kitchen was at a more erratic pace, but it's all about the food. Mapo tofu was good, with a light slick of chili oil. The flavors were spot on with little chunks of fermented salted broad beans. The heat was also moderate, but it did have a kick as you were eating it. That signature mala numbing spiciness started building, but not hot enough for my palate. Green beans were also nice and tender. Sometimes when they come out the fryer, the skin can be a little leathery, but wasn't present here. BBQ Buns were very soft and tender, loaded with BBQ pork. The shao mai had a nice bouncy texture and cooked well. Shrimp Lo Mein had the flavors of the Chinese American classic, it looks like the noodles were hand made too. Only miss was the shrimp dumplings. They were too close to each other and they stuck together. The wrapper was also overcooked, but somehow the shrimp was not. Nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks, because the wrapped just fell apart, even with a delicate touch. Worth a stop and probably tastiest Chinese food in the neighborhood. It was getting crowded and there was a wait by the time we left. However it was Denver restaurant week, so not sure how it usually is during the week.

The vibe here is of a japanese izakaya, though not a super traditional one, with sake bombs and everything. That said, the food is definitely on the pricier side, though extremely delicious. My typical go to is on of the salad. Now salads typically are not standout at most restaurants, but the ones at Kawa Ni just hits different. Both the red cabbage and pear salad and the brocolli salad are delicious and the portion is massive, easily enough for a table of 4 to share. For apps and shareable entrees, you can't go wrong here. The build your own tuna temaki hand rolls can easily be shared and the tuna is so fresh and well seasoned. The szechuan dumplings are delicious, as is the curry onigiri and the bao bun. The Dan Dan noodle, kimchi Carbonara, and their tonkotsu ramen are also amazing, and, with the exception of the tonkotsu ramen, can easily be shared. I would highly recommend other seasonal dishes as well, such as the coconut swordfish or chicken katsu parm. However, one of my absolute favorite dish here is the ochazuke. It's basically grilled fish over rice in a warm green tea dashi. It's so comforting, especially on a cold night, and a dish that I return to time and time again. Cravings absolutely satisfied…read more We were in CO for the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club specialty and I cannot go anywhere without having some sort of Asian food. That evening, I was craving pho. Pho 92 came recommended and I was immediately drawn to the clear broth in the photos while researching Yelp for Vietnamese food. It was a Thursday evening when we arrived at Pho 92, and the restaurant was packed. It was loud, with staff bustling about and patrons enjoying their meals. The aroma of the pho broth was just as I had hoped for a busy restaurant. We waited approximately 10 min for a table. The staff were pretty efficient and looked to have a good system going for bussing tables. Hailing from CA, I am no stranger to good pho, and this place hit the spot. I'm so glad I decided to get the regular instead of the large, because wow those portion sizes were indeed huge. My husband made the "mistake" of ordering the combination vermicelli bowl, and it came packed with tender proteins and crispy egg rolls. That just meant for some delicious leftovers (that actually reheated perfectly). The pho broth was as clear as I had imagined from looking at other patrons' photos. It still had a good depth of flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had been a long travel day for us, so I didn't want oily soup. (Sometimes I do enjoy rich, oilier pho broth, but not that night.) The pho came with a plethora of herbs, which I of course used all of. Be warned that their chili oil is very spicy, which I accidentally put too much of without first trying (oops). I generally don't go to the same spot twice during a trip, as I enjoy trying out different local businesses, but Pho 92 would have been a spot I'd return to again if we had had the time and if I had wanted pho again. Their menu is huge, so there are plenty of dishes to choose from to satisfy your cravings, whatever those might be for any given day. We will definitely be back the next time we visit CO!

We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love.
