    Sesame Tofu
    Julie B.

A nice spot on a Thursday night in November for a quick Chinese dinner- and I mean quick! - (ordered and had my dish in less than 10 minutes piping hot and delicious). The sesame tofu is a simple dish but, the sauce here was outstanding. The heat level was not overpowering and blended perfectly with the sauce, the tofu was crispy without being oily and had the best consistency. First time stopping in and it won't be my last. It's just a simple spot in a little strip with other restaurants, unassuming, with the friendliest ladies working the front. I saw regulars here acknowledged by the staff and a couple from Evergreen on their first visit as well as a regular customer who brought friends in from Tennessee here to play a show this weekend and the interest the server took in hearing the story was so genuine and sweet. Honestly, the food was amazing and was only made better by the genuine kindness and appreciation the staff has for the customers. Every person was greeted with a smile and a wave goodbye - These are the places I love to come back to and recommend if you are in the area.

Placed an order for pick-up having never visited the restaurant in person before. Opening the door the restaurant felt like stepping into a warm, cozy family home. While the place does have some dated decor, it feels homey and welcomes you right in. I instantly wished we ate in instead of take out! The menu is expansive, including Chinese, Thai, and sushi dishes. We tried the egg rolls, pad thai, beef lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, and Szechuan chicken. For the price, we agreed that the food was excellent. The pad thai was a tad soupy, but overall tasted good. Stick to the traditional Chinese dishes and they will not disappoint. The rest of the meal was delicious, and we will certainly return.

I enjoy Asian cuisine and was driving to another location on Youngfield for lunch when I found Lu House. I am known by my friends for having the ability to find a great hole in the restaurants. You know those hiding out in strip malls or odd places but have great-tasting food. I am giving Lu House this rating for three key reasons. 1. Food Flavor - I had the Mongolian Beef lunch special. The flavor of the beef was amazing, the beef was tender and it was a generous lunch-size portion. It came with steamed rice, an egg roll, and hot and sour soup which also delivered the flavor. I was impressed with the food and look forward to trying some of their other dishes. 2. Speed - You can actually go to Lu House for lunch and be in and out in a 1/2 hour. My soup came immediately after ordering, and my lunch plate was out before I could finish the soup. The staff was impressive and the kitchen was amazingly fast. I was also impressed because they know their customers, they knew that I was new and welcomed me and made sure I understood where the lunches were on the menu. 3. Price - I appreciate their effort to manage their prices. I thought they really delivered a great meal for the price. The restaurant is clean, all the tables were bussed and they give you linen napkins. All impressive in today's world. I am going to be going back and will select some other dishes to test it out, but this is a good find if you are looking for great food and do not care about the glitz.

    Crispy Pan Fried Noodle

We stumbled across this place after we decided we wanted to check out a new Chinese spot (thanks fellow Yelpers!) and so glad we did. Ordering online was quick and easy although I wish their online system would save what we ordered prior so we could just reorder the same dishes or change up what we didn't like. What we swallowed: SWEET AND SOUR PORK: This is a favorite in our household from this place. The meat to veggies portions are generous and the breading on the pork is not overdone. The veggies are crisp and cooked just right. This is always the first dish to disappear so we always order two. SESAME CHICKEN: I thought the breading on this dish was a bit tough (compared to the S&S Pork) but it was still really good. SESAME SHRIMP: I really like this dish as the shrimp was cooked great and not too chewy. Their sesame sauce is delicious too.. not too sweet. CRISPY PAN FRIEND NOODLES: We were so happy when we saw this on the menu as not every Chinese place carries it. The first time we ordered it, the noodles seemed to be a bit underdone but the meat and veggies were so good that we decided to give it another go on the next round and so glad we did. It was perfect. Definitely another favorite dish of ours from here. BROCCOLI BEEF: Simple but delicious. A favorite with our 6 year old. HOT AND SOUR SOUP: My hubby loves the soup here. He happily will order a large with enough for leftovers. CRAB RANGOON: We love that they give a free appetizer with your (to-go) order. My family even loved these even though they don't like crab! FRIED DUMPLINGS: So here's the story: the first time we ordered, I ordered salt and pepper shrimp and was pretty bummed to find out when my hubby got home that they forgot to include it. Little did I know, they were calling us to come back to pick it up but we had not heard the phone until it was too late. They gave us a refund and were profusely sorry about messing up the order. Our next order (the sesame shrimp) I reminded them not to forgot my shrimp, she remembered me from the prior slip up and included these dumplings in for free. That's great customer service! Oh yeah, these dumplings were great too. Their food is cooked great. Their fried food is not overly breaded and their sauces aren't overly sweet. The veggies are always cooked crisp so you know they are fresh. What's great is their portions are definitely bigger than other local-take outs so there is usually left overs for the next day. It's great to have a nice variety of Chinese places around the area and this has become our go-to. Definitely check them out!

We ordered the twice cooked pork, orange chicken, shrimp egg foo young, pad Thai, wonton skin, egg drop soup, crab rangoons, egg rolls. Everything was delicious and very flavorful! Takeout was nice and hot when we got home and rangoons were super crispy. Service was great and food was ready quick! Will definitely be back.

    MuShoo Pork

Awful food. My Mushoo pork came out sitting in oil. The server was atrocious as well. She yelled at us and was incredibly rude. I will never come back here again. Some of the worst Chinese I have ever had. See pic of all the oil this was sitting in. Cabbage was cut very large and no good spices, no egg and the wrap fell apart.

Whoa don't order the pad Thai it was sweet , asked for spicy , not a very good taste. Kind of taste like spaghetti

Our go to Chinese restaurant!! We get takeout from here all the time, not only is the food yum but the service is so friendly and always on time for takeout! They have everything you would expect from a typical chinese restaurant and it's all fresh and delicious. I love kung pao anything and their pan friend noodles. We actually haven't dined in yet but frequently get takeout and love it so much!

The dining room is still closed, they essentially keep the dining room as a storage closet lol. You walk in to pick up your order and they have tables blocking the entry, that's where you pay for your food. The portions are still as giant as ever, and the prices are still affordable. My wife and I had a hankering the other day for our old stomping grounds, so we jetted over there to pickup an order. It was ready in 10 minutes and two meals ran us $32. I think I pay $32 for a good cup of coffee these days!!!!!! I kid, I kid. The meal lasts you for days, you really get two giant sized portions out of it. It will probably last some of you three days. They don't skimp out here and it's incredible. They serve Asian fusion, Chinese American meals that are addictive. Or is that the MSG??? Probably so, and that's why it's delicious. The food is just so damn craveable! Don't break the bank. Get what you really want. Taste of China, we still love you so much.

(Note, they are closed on Tuesdays.) I placed our pickup order on a Saturday night & it was ready in 15 minutes. The restaurant is for take-out only. Our food was in containers & placed in a box. I appreciated this since there was no way anything was going to tip over & spill. Very friendly phone & counter service as well. Note, you get six free Cheese Wontons when your order is more than $40. We ordered three different entrees with three different sides - Steamed White Rice, Fried Rice & Lo Mein Noodles. The sides were good, however the fried rice didn't seem fried, it was white rice with soy sauce. The Sweet & Sour Shrimp Entree was tasty - the shrimp were medium sized, cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce. The Sesame Chicken Entree was even better, the chicken was moist & tender. The beef in the Mongolian Beef Entree was great however there were way too many onions in the dish. Overall, a very satisfying meal.

First off, I am not an expert on dumplings, buns, etc. I've had them before, but it is not…read moresomething I find myself having often. Dumplings often have a slimey texture to me which isn't my favorite. The dumplings here were ok. They were very "juicy" inside; when you bit into them, they'd squirt out their innards into your plate. They take longer to be served than the buns. The two buns I had were decent, too. I preferred the flavoring of the beef one. However, both were very scant on actual meat. It's mostly cabbage and scallions. The buns themselves felt very heavy and a bit too dough-y for my preference. We also had the Chinese pancakes. It tasted like fried dough. So nothing terrible but nothing exciting as fried dough is usually good. What was most off putting was the service and the insides. As others have mentioned, it's a QR code. You don't really interact with anyone in this establishment. You must use a phone. They are very quick to bring you a cup of water when you sit down (and quick to leave, too). There's no place to refill your water, so you have to somehow track someone down to get some. I honestly don't know how you are supposed to order something other than water -- there is no "beverages" section in their ordering website. I guess they are going for that new hostile McDonald's tactic of wanting you to eat and leave by presenting you with the fewest employees possible. The interior is a dark steel, cement combo with lots of room. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable, but not atypical of other places. It seems clean, for the most part. It felt new like they were still trying to get used to the space (not very "lived in"). This, paired with the lack of service, just didn't make it very welcoming feeling or homey. It is, however, very easy to eat and leave. As for price, it seems reasonable to a degree. I feel like if there were to be more meat on the buns, the price would suit it well. But it's not too far off and I didn't leave feeling ripped off. I'm not quite sure what the tip is going towards when you pay, but they ask for one all the same -- before any service has been rendered.

The restaurant had plenty of seats so we were able to get a table quickly. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza, so there is plenty of parking options. When we went, you would park on the other side of the restaurant and then walk around to get to the actual entrance facing the street. Ordering is down through a paper menu in which you check off what you would like and then hand to the service worker. Service was fast and attentive, and the restaurant feels like a quick casual dine in type of vibe. We ordered a decent amount of dumplings to try, which I'll review down below: Dumplings ($13 - $14): We got two different types of dumplings, the Yuzu chicken soup dumplings and the pan fried fish and cabbage dumplings. Flavor-wise, they are both pretty pleasant! One critique for the soup dumplings is that they are super fragile, and the dumpling skin rips really easily as they were sticking even when they came out, so you may unfortunately lose a good amount of soup try to enjoy them. As for the fillings, they are pretty uniform in texture and have a pleasant mouth feel to eat. You can definitely taste the yuzu in the yuzu dumplings and the flavor in both dumplings are fragrant. Stewed Pork Belly Noodle ($14): A pretty solid bowl of noodles! There is a generous amount of pork that we were able to split between multiple people. I like that there is a decent amount of bok choy and radish in the dish to contrast with the flavorful and really tender pork belly. I think that if I were to order only this dish, it would fill me up to a comfortable level of fullness. The soup has a subtle porky flavor and the noodles have a decent amount of chewiness. Wood Ear Mushroom Salad ($6.50): I am a fan - we ordered this to help contrast with the dumplings and serve as a palate cleanser in addition to being an appetizer. There is a nice acidity in the dressing and the wood ears are crunchy and aren't too rubbery. It does say spicy on the menu, but it's more of a very mild spice. In the end, I think that Mason's Dumpling Shop is a pretty solid dumpling restaurant in Lakewood, and we spent about $25 per person for every thing here. Which I think is a good price for the variety. I would definitely revisit and try the other options they have here if I'm ever back in Lakewood!
