California Roll Ahi, Spicy Cucumber, Tako, Imitation crab, Spicy Hawaiian. (Spicy Ahi not pictured)

Ho'omana Fish Co. is a great new poke shop that opened toward the end of last year inside the Waipahu Festival Marketplace. GPS directions can be off, so search for the marketplace. Parking is easy, with spots directly in front of the store. The ahi here is fresh and high quality. I tried a few of their poke dishes, including the spicy Hawaiian, spicy ahi, California roll ahi, tako, and imitation crab. I also had their spicy cucumber side. Every single option was delicious! The customer service is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

If I'm being honest, Ho'omana Fish Market was good, but it didn't quite stand out from the rest. The ahi katsu was definitely the highlight--crispy, flavorful, and very tasty. The fried chicken was also good, with that classic local homemade flavor, but it didn't have anything that really set it apart from other places. The service was friendly and accommodating, which made for a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was very quiet; almost library quiet. I'm not sure if it was because they were slow when I stopped by, but it felt unusually calm. Overall, the combo plate is worth ordering because they fill it up to the max. So if in the area give them a try. I think if I was to revisit, I'd come back to give their poké bowl a try.

Came back during lunch and it wasn't busy. We ordered the Mochiko chicken plate with potato salad and it was fresh and delicious! It didn't feel oily at all! The chicken skin was def the best part of it!

Was so happy they were still open (close at 530 pm) made it in time! After a long hard day at work with no lunch but crackers you know you want something good! The pastele plate, Hamburger steak and cucumber kimchi was ONOLICIOUS! If ever you're in the west side /Waipahu, go go check them out! Service is top notch, always feels like Ohana! Mahalo Ho'omana Fish, you know we'll be back ;)

Another hidden gem in Waipahu. As a poke lover, I can confirm their Spicy Ahi Poke is surprisingly fresh and flavorful. They offered to put unagi sauce on top of the poke which was good. I took home a pound of this poke that I quickly devoured with rice. Very satisfying! Plain, simple & clean place. Modern digital display signage for menus and contactless payment terminal. Looks like most people take out here but there are a few counter seats along the front window, no tables. Staff are friendly. I definitely will be back to try their Ahi Katsu, Creamy Garlic Butter Ahi, and Fried chicken that other Yelpers are raving about. Beware that hot foods are only served between 10am-2pm while they last and they're closed Sun & Mon.

Came back after my last review because I couldn't stop thinking about that ahi katsu... and then I made the most dangerous decision possible... I read the fried chicken reviews So now I'm standing there like an absolute menace thinking "why not both?" Best decision I've made all week. Ahi katsu AND fried chicken on the same plate? That's not a meal, that's a life experience. The ahi katsu is still unreal. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside... you can tell right away they're not messing around with quality. Then the fried chicken shows up like it's trying to compete... crispy, juicy, seasoned like somebody's aunty is in the back making sure it's done right. And then I added the fresh tako sesame poke on the side... yeah, that was overkill in the best way possible. Portion size? Let's just say they're not out here playing "fine dining small plate games." You're getting hooked up. I walked in thinking snack... walked out needing a nap. If you're the type that cares about freshness, quality, and actually getting your money's worth, this spot is dangerous. You tell yourself you'll try one thing... next thing you know you're ordering half the menu like me. 10/10. No regrets. Already planning my next bad decision.

I'm so glad I discovered Hoomana Fish--truly a hidden gem in the heart of Waipahu! Fresh fish, a super convenient location, and genuinely friendly staff...a triple threat. First off, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. I ordered the Ahi Combo ($22), which comes with ahi katsu and creamy garlic butter ahi. My plate had six generous pieces of ahi, three of each. The plate could easily feed more than 1 person! The ahi was cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside for the katsu, tender and flavorful throughout. The creamy garlic butter sauce complimented the ahi very well. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the space looks newly renovated--clean, bright, and inviting. Also, in addition to their menu, they also carry snacks and condiments from local vendors: crack sauce, chili pepper water, baked goods, etc. Definitely looking forward to coming back to try their fried chicken or a poke bowl next time!

Seriously good ahi katsu, garlic ahi, and fried chicken?!? Thank you bruddah Ramfis B for the rec. The ahi katsu equals that of Flyin' Ahi and is bested only by Ken's Fresh Fish in Laie. In other words, second best on the island. Quality, fresh ahi cooked medium results in a uber tender, moist center and crisp outside. It is finished with the Hawaii requisites siracha mayo and kabayaki . The garlic ahi, uses the same quality, fresh ahi. It is aggressively seasoned with salt then pan fried medium before being doused in a creamy buttery garlic sauce. The sauce is very garlic forward but with zero bitter oxidized flavor. Both can be ordered separately or as a combo for just a few bucks more. The fried chicken, winnah! Brined pieces of boneless thighs are simply seasoned before being dredged in a flour / starch mixture and deep fried. Ethereally crisp skin, uber moist inside. Eat it quick, the crispness will not last in a closed container. Fresh poke, a few other non fish plates and a burger also available. Note, food is made when ordered. Expect a 20 minute wait for the fried chicken. Super friendly, local service. A standout in the plethora of eateries in Waipahu.

Took a ride Waipahu to try Ho'omana Fish. I would say this is a takeout venue. Although there is limited counter seating. We were waited on by a young man learning the ropes and a women training him. Service was friendly. We ordered some sesame crab poke and limu Ahi poke. Also ordered bought two plate lunches. My wife had the Ahi Katsu . The ahi was a little dry, the potato salad was very good. I had the Beer Battered Mahi Mahi. This plate lunch came with fries. The fries were under cooked and soggy. The battered fish lacked flavor. The portions of the plate lunches were worth the price This is a new business so give them some time m e yo work out the kinks. Enjoy

I was in Waipahu and seen this place and HAD to try it! They have fresh fish so of course I was expecting good food. I ordered Da Ahi Combo and WOW! Amazing!!! It came with ahi katsu & ahi with creamy garlic sauce, potato salad & rice. Let me tell you!!! Sooooo good!!!! The flavor was beyond amazing and everything had taste, nothing was dry. The creamy garlic sauce had a buttery garlic taste, so good! And the ahi katsu had so much taste and the fish was moist They were friendly and I didn't wait too long for the food. It was pretty packed with everyone eating inside. They have a couple of chairs to dine in but not a lot so take out if anything. Lots of parking. My plate was $22 not bad at all

I just had to try this place. I kinda wanted to tune it right since that parking lot gets pretty hectic because of the Waipahu Festival market. I guess I timed it right there was a lot of parking If you're in a rush, you'll have to wait for your food. It is cooked to order. You won't regret the wait. I ordered the Ahi Katsu Fried chicken plate. Y U M M E E E!!! The fried chicken is boneless, crispy and moist, the Ahi Katsu was breaded perfectly and the sauce on it was on point. I also got the dried taegu. Price right cause my hubby and I shared the plate and still had leftovers Go check um goooooo Place is small with a counter and maybe 8 stools. Very clean.

Creamy garlic ahi was fantabulous! Everything was tasty but I really enjoyed this entree the most. Definitely bookmarking for future lunch spot due to value for portion size. Two people could share a plate if you're into that sort of thing.

Sister wanted to try something different that was recommended by someone she follows as a food critic. Because they make it fresh and was advised of the wait she said service was excellent plus gave her chance to see what else they offer, hence the discovery of the Chili Oil, which we got hooked on by a different brand. Sister indicated the place was clean and organized. The food..yummy..definitely a place to go back, we even tried their different poke. So if you want to try a different place for fish, highly recommend..enjoy!

I have 2 favorites -- Tuesday & Thursday.   I eat it practically every week and you'd never guess when you see it! Tuesday is the BBQ Bowl -- You get ypur choice of meat, rice, and a side (banchan). I always get the smoke meat with pickled onion on rice. The smoked meat has plenty smoked taste, just enough fat, and it's not tough (you know what I mean).  The pickled onion is the perfect compliment!   Love the bite and the vinegar taste -- cuts though and brings it all together!   They give you quite a bit in the bowl.  Definitely enough to make me smile!    Again ---- $6.00!!!!! Thursday is another winner in my book.   It's noodle day!!!  I used to get the Mega which had everything in it.   It was a special that they had at the beginning but it's been discontinued.  I think the only one I'm not too crazy about is the curry.   I know some like it -- but having watery curry with noodles is just not me.   The rest are pretty good.   They warm up the noodles right there and add all the goodies on top.  It's take out so they give you the hot broth in another container ---- perfect so your noodles don't get soggy!   I think it's a great 'buy and eat later' meal! I think the only negative is that sometimes the parking lot is very, very full.  If you go early it's not too bad.    The rest of the days they have kalua pig burrito, nachos, and the $6/lb food bar Friday.   With all the prices on everything going UP, UP, UP, it's so nice that we can have a good and satisfying meal for $6.00.    Thank you Foodland -- Food, Family, and Friends!!!
