I have always loved their pizza but they don't seem to answer the phone on Fridays. I had to drive there and order in person and then wait 30 minutes to get my pizza. Very frustrating! I like it a lot! It's a cool old school shop. Don't come here in a hurry. It's real pizza! It takes longer. They have window pizza for anyone that can't wait. I ordered a small cheese well done and a half mushroom steak. That's my order when I check out a new place. The pizza was perfectly cooked. The crust was good, the sauce was a little light but tasted good, and it had plenty of cheese. The "steak" was very good. Plenty of gravy, cheese, onions, banana peppers, and I added pickles. Fantastic! They have seating but you have to order at the counter and then they shout out your number. They are busy so you will have to wait your turn to order. Next time I may order ahead and will definitely ask for extra sauce. They have plenty of parking. The building looks really nice. I will definitely try it again. read more

13 of us had lunch today at Hoagie's. My assessment is this is typical Dayton lackluster pizza. Here's what I experienced: Pepperoni pizza. Loads of greasy pepperoni, a good grade of mozzarella cheese on a flat platter crust. The crust appears to be made with all purpose flour, it would be much better with 00 pizza flour. It's flat and thin yet cakey, not a crust I would seek out. Pepperoni, sausage, bacon. Loaded with greasy pepperoni, small chunks of sausage, finely chopped bacon and a good grade of mozzarella cheese. Same crust issue. Salad was a nice fresh mix of greens, black olives, red onions and tomatoes. I had the house dressing, it's a sweet Italian dressing and very good. read more

Second visit to Hoagie's today for take out. We had the same thing again, their Famous Hoagies. Fresh and abundant ingredients. Made to order perfectly (we had oil and vinegar instead of mayo, and no tomatoes on one and no onions on the other. They tasted amazing and the regular size are huge. We really enjoyed them again. I've lived around Dayton for many years and finally tried the large deluxe and one half pepperoni pizza from this always crowded but often overlooked business located on N. Dixie Dr across from the Dixie Drive Inn Theater. There is plenty of safe, well lit parking both out front and across Gypsy St. It's a small restaurant with a table outside, but nothing inside that I could observe. The staff were efficient and very friendly, prompt, and helpful while ordering. The pizza was out of this world good , freshly baked dough, hot, sliced to perfection. The thing I was most impressed with was how wonderful it was to re-heat up to two days later, and delicious. I strongly recommend that you try Hoagies Pizza in Northridge and I will definitely return soon because it was a great value for $18.00. read more

This place has always been my favorite pizza place in the area for decades. The place is family owned and operated which is cool. The ingredients they use are local to our area. Had a large deluxe pizza with a couple of salads with some friends. There was a 30 minute wait for the order. As we sat in the parking lot it was bustling the entire time. The pizza was overall good. Had been my go to place to get subs during the pandemic and it's just down the road. I always get the same thing every time. Ham and turkey sub, no peppers of any kind. Called in my order the other day. Ordered my regular and was told 20 min. Went in to get my order, lady asked name and said "Ham and turkey , no banana peppers" I let her know it was no peppers of any kind. Well guess what they had to remake my sandwich, because guy taking order took it down wrong. Had to wait the entire time it would of taken if I had just walked in off the street and ordered. The pizza is awesome, and I have been eating their pizza for years. The prices are fair, and the portions are huge. But the management and employees clearly need some more training in merchant and point of sale laws. They tried to require an ID on a signed credit card the other day, which is clearly a violation of both Visa's and Master Card's merchant agreement regulations. So I called and reported them to Visa. I will post a picture of the laws for all to see, including Hoagie's employees. Take note guys, because you are not allowed to make an ID a condition of acceptance or refuse a sale on a signed credit card. You have no choice but to obey the laws. I am secured once I sign my card. I don't need Hoagie's to worry about my security, I need them to make my pizza. read more

I had never heard of this place until yesterday when my students decided to have a pizza party after their finals. I don't know all the details about parking etc. but what I do know is this is GREAT Pizza and for a great price. We had two pizza's one large 14 inch vegi and one extra large 18 inch pepperoni both had extra cheese. The flavor was wonderful, the crust was great and even though she picked them up and drove them to our school down town campus the pizza was still HOT. WHAT HAPPENED?! I have been eating this pizza over the last 15 years. I notice the last couple times we ate there the pizza is not the same . The cheese and quality is completely different and it not even close to being half as good. What made this pizza so good was the nutty buttery cheese they used which was unique to Hoagie's.
