Good cheese steak, but not great, and not the best. Not a bad deal either, loaded with meat and comes with a side of fries! Service however is hit or miss. But nonetheless a decent joint for lunch in the area. read more

Only open 11-8 Mon-Fri, 11-7 on Sat and closed on Sun. I arrived at 7:15 PM on a Monday night and was the only customer in the place. I ordered a philly cheesesteak with mushrooms, which was on the grill and in my to-go box in about 6 minutes. I told them I didn't want the fries that come with the sandwich because there was a tray of 'warmed' fries on the counter under a heat lamp that didn't look too fresh and I was worried I might be served those instead of getting fresh fries. No worries, I'm not a big fry person anyway :) The french bread roll was toasted on the grill so the inside was a little toasted and the outside was soft. The amount of meat used was a good amount, could have used a little more cheese (looked like one slice cut into two and lined over the meat instead of using two full pieces of cheese, and a minimal amount of sauteed mushrooms. The taste was good, the regular sized sandwich was approx. 6 inches (not sure what the small size would be?). The price before tax was $6.95. It was good enough to enjoy again...but I can get a 12" Subway Steak and Cheese with more meat and cheese for about the same price or cheaper. I think I'll stick with Subway. read more

I ordered the mushroom philly which even though they put mayonaise on it (I had ordered over the phone, and as a first timer, didn't realize they added this) I was in heaven. They include a generous helping of steak and the cheese was coming out the sides. I'll be sure to order the fries next time instead of onion rings since these weren't too good. read more

So I've lived in San Leandro for most of my adolescent and adult life and yet, have never visited this place! Clearly, I should have known about this place, since it was a few blocks from my home! My boyfriend, baffled by my confession of never trying this place, promptly took me here one sunny day. It's quite small inside, maybe fitting ten. The food was made fast and smelled delightful, the lady behind the counter was nice. I ordered a basic cheese steak and a drink, and when I received my meal, I was astonished by how delish it was! I wish it was a bit closer so I could come here all the time!!! Everything was cooked perfectly and the temperature of the food was way hot. I wasn't ready for it to be that hot, had to blow on it to cool it down before my next bite. Writing this review makes me want to drive over and order a sandwich, makes my mouth water. This place is so great! My boyfriend first introduced me to this place a few months back and I've never looked back, I go nearly every weekend! It's run by a Vietnamese couple and they're so nice! We mostly order over the phone and they know our order right after my boyfriend says his over the phone and follows with mine; they even have my peach Snapple on lock, ready with the pick up order even though I never order it over the phone! I usually end up grabbing it last minute while in there. Their teriyaki combo bowl is my go to and highly recommended by me, my boyfriend usually gets the cheesesteak combo and has nothing but nice things to say about it! I love this place!!! The sandwiches are all on point. The place is for sure ..call in and get to go! I don't care much for the fries only because they are cooked in the same oil as the fish and you can taste the fish fry taste on the fries. Owners are super nice. After mistakenly giving us curly fries instead of sweet potato fries, she immediately whipped us some fresh sweet potato fries and gave the curly fries for free! The food: I'm orginally from Philadelphia. I have no idea if the owners have ever been there, but their cheesesteak is the real deal. I'm not sure if they use Amoroso rolls (the preferred Philly cheesesteak roll), but they chop the steak perfectly. The only thing that would make this cheesesteak better would be to hold the mayo, but that could be elimanated per order of course. I haven't had much else off of the menu, for obvious reasons, but my little boy had a grilled chese the other day and it was good. The fries are regular steak fries and I intend to get cheese fries at some point. The price: Excellent for the Bay Area. Two cheesesteaks with fries at about $16 is a great deal and for quality. The staff: Very sweet, nice, professional, and humble Asian couple. They are always nice and they bust out the food pretty quick. We love this place and we will continue to eat here. read more

Would give it four or five stars, but they only offer American cheese, which is authentic, but not very Californian-friendly... You'll come for Sweet Fingers (across the street) but you'll eat here, because Sweet Fingers is always closed, and you won't regret it! read more

Used to eat at this place a lot but haven't been there in a while. There's a very similar place I go to in fremont now. But this place does definitely hit the spot when youre craving a cheese steak sandwich. I wish this place was in a better location. It's located next to a "mr bling" type of place that sells jewelry and gold grills, so there are a lot of aspiring rappers hanging around. This is a hole in the wall little shop that screams, "Extreme Makover: Cheesesteak edition!" But don't be fooled by the lack of decor, fancy signs or menu printed from an inkjet. This place is amazing! I haven't had cheesesteaks from Philly but this is by far the best cheesesteaks I've had in the bay area. I recommend not going there right when they open cause the food isn't the freshest. But if you go around 11:30, after they've gone for a bit, then you're in for an awesome experience. Damn that's a good cheesesteak. The bread is slightly toasted for a nice airy crispy effect. The meat is very thinly sliced so its easy to eat. No grizzly tough bites here. Melted cheese onions peppers- yes please. Cheese fries are good. Good bit of wiz poured over them. You may leave with a heart attack but you will also say to yourself as it is happening- damn that's a good cheesesteak! read more
