Passed Jerry's a million times with intentions to stop. Today I did. Went around 2pm and there was a short line. This seems to be a regular spot for most of the patrons because I didn't notice anyone checking out the menue. The went to the window with their order memorized. I ordered the #3. I added cheese, grilled onions and substituted my soda for a banana milkshake. The wait was about 8 minutes. The fries were the best part of the meal. 10/10. Whatever they season it with works! The banana shake was tasty. I see myself stopping by Jerry's just for that. The burger was lackluster. The patty itself was dry and underseasoned. The burger is very big though. You get your money's worth as far as portions goes. There are so many burger locations to choose from. IMO, burger wise, Jerry's isn't even in the running. I am going to return. Jerry's Burgers - East Bay Time Capsule This is one of them around the-way burger spots that feels like it ain't changed since the '90s lol No fancy bun, no wagyu beef, no aioli. Just a solid double patty that tastes like it came straight from the freezer section at Smart & Final, dropped on the flat top, and slapped on a soft bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo. You know what you're getting. And honestly? It hits. Especially when you're craving something simple and greasy to soak up last night. The fries? Straight shooter style with that orange seasoning salt we all grew up on. Nothing crispy like Five Guys or curly like Jack in the Box. Just fries. Finally stop by to try em out. Got me the #1 Hamburger with everything and a 6 (small) piece fish (Cod) and chips. The hamburger is a good burger with all its trimmings but nothing special. I'd take the Whopper all day over it. The cod otoh was ok, a little rubbery in texture. Just like when I bought frozen cod but didn't really leave it out on paper towel to dry out a little and cooked it with all the moisture from being frozen which resulted in the rubbery texture. Ok ok let's have a Ted talk. First off I've been coming here for 20 something years maybe more but since I was very very young! The original owners had the place rocking with good burgers, fries and teriyaki bowls that didn't miss! Second whoever is the owner now did their best to keep that and still update the place to try and do more for what they have available. The original building was kept up to date but still looks the same as it did with the same order and pick up windows just updated tables on the outside. The parking lot is smaller but both sides have parking. Now let's get to the burger and fries I've had almost every burger there and they are still almost the same not quite there but very close. Well seasoned and still has that char to it to where the flavor begins to pack in. Now the fries to me is the best well seasoned and slightly crispy with softness to it but hot enough to make you want more as you eat them! Must try if you have not most locals know them but they need more service! read more

Was getting my car washed next door and decided to check this place out for lunch. I ordered the Turkey Burger Combo (includes drink and fries) for $12.99. I was surprised by the high price, as it's just an old fashion burger joint, where you order at the window. The young woman who took my order was super nice. The food was high quality and tasty. The fries were fresh and hot and the Turkey Burger was big with nice fresh lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and pickles. Even though it's a bit pricey I'm sure to be back when I'm in the area. read more

I've been by Jerry's many times and have always thought this must be great. It is! You have to keep in mind the store is right outta the 1950's. I'm sure back in the day, it was a hub to gather at, like the movie "American Graffiti." In fact, I think the original paint and decor are the same. I called ahead to see if they took Amex for payment. No. However a mentioned I had a $100 bill, the sweet women said she could break it. Sure enough, the same charming woman who I spoke with over the phone welcomed me. The menu is taped to the window and took a moment to take it all in. I ordered the Super Combo Beefburger, which is the only burger combo offered. With cheese, fries, and a fountain drink, $7.50. I asked about the Fried Chicken and was told it was the most popular order. Done. Six wings for $6.99. There's no inside seating, just metal picnic tables, so carry out was the choice. Even at 2:30pm, there was a good number of folks waiting for their order. 5 minutes wait and I was off. The Cheeseburger was good with pickles, onion, and tomato. The fries were equally delicious. Not frozen, but machine cut. I took a bite of a wing, which was crispy and moist inside. Definitely not frozen. Saving it for dinner. An Asian couple are the proprietors. Stopped by tonight because I wanted a quick dinner and was not disappointed! I noticed some other reviews here refer to the prices but I ordered a cheeseburger combo and only paid $11.96 for the cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. Photo attached of what I got! I know things are more expensive now but I feel the quantity of food matches the going rate for an order like this nowadays. I would rather give my money to a local establishment like this than a chain, so I don't mind paying "more" per se if it helps a local family. The food was really good too - the fries were perfectly salted and had a good flavor. Burger was the classic flavor you'd expect from a joint like this. The sign says $13.99 (with out the cheese). The gal at the register says "That will be $21.99". I questioned the amount and she tries to explain with some nonsense. It's old school and so are the burgers. I usually ask for mine 'ez on the salt' and found it is how I prefer it. Same for my wife. Burgers are thin like an old drive-in, fries are a bigger version of In-n-outs and they chop the spuds on site in a similar fashion. I ask for my fries cripsy and love the texture and flavor of Jerry's Burger fries over a standard chains. I once came home with a chicken burger instead of chicken teriyaki, and was thankful my wife was not disappointed with my mis-ordering as she really enjoyed the chicken burger. Phew! Haha. I like to order ahead when possible, but they are usually quick about things and you can watch some interesting people drive by while you are waiting...maybe see some 24 inch rims roll by in a brightly colored impala. You guys, this place is a shit-hole. My shake was half ice, my fries were almost white -- undercooked -- and the burger was generic. I paid $6.35 for this feast. Nowadays they have their tinny outdoor speakers set to a pop station so you get to listen to Christina Aguilera at full blast. Gross. read more

This is a cute and old school burger joint with good service. Every single time I've been here, whoever is working the register has been incredibly welcoming and nice. So that's another big PLUS for me that has me coming back. I'm a huge fan of their fries. They're soooooo fresh and the seasoning salt completes it. I literally drool thinking about this from time to time. Their burgers are solid. Honestly, to me, nothing to really complain about. They're a classic, thinner beef patty. I've seen these in other older burger joints. I really don't see an issue with this. Their prices are fair and I get a double if I'm hungry enough. The half fried chicken is also pretty spot on. Still pretty darn juicy, even for white meat (my fave!). They sprinkle a bit of seasoning salt on this as well. You'll be quick to notice that this is one of their more popular items if you stand around long enough. Sauces are extra, but honestly, anything more than ketchup is not necessary.
