They have some nontraditional combos, you can get cheese, whiz, and the bread is authentic as it gets. The service is good. The price is right and the cheesesteaks are loaded with gooey cheese and perfectly cooked meat. There's a lot of special sandwiches and sandwiches. I definitely recommend the spider bite. We came on a Thursday night and he was quite busy with orders. It took 40 mins to get our food and we ordered the pesto and the madd sandwiches. One bread was soft while the other bread was stale. They were generous with the meat and gave a little bit of cheese. Food was overall solid! It needs some more seasoning and it will be ideal after. I've been to Theo's Cheesecake three times, and the first two times were really good, but this last visit was very disappointing, especially for the price I paid. I spent almost $27 for a cheesesteak and fries, and it just wasn't worth it. I think they even double-charged me for peppers, even though my cheesesteak already came with them. Plus, they used bell peppers instead of the usual cheesesteak-style hot or sweet peppers, which really changed the flavor. They also put some kind of oily sauce or dressing on the bread that made it soggy and gave it an odd taste. I'm not sure if they have new people cooking, but it was nothing like the first two times I went. For nearly $27, the quality just wasn't there this time soggy bread, wrong peppers, and disappointing flavor overall. read more

This is just about couple miles from our place so I thought of trying them. There is also one close to our house, but we didn't like it. I just ordered their classic Theos cheesesteak with sweet peppers and it was a bomb plus their garlic french fries. It was so perfect. When I called to order, it was a guy who answered my call and he sounds like he is the owner. He's nice and the service was great. It is just a small place but cute and clean. Fresh, hot, delicious! Small shop, limited dine in (2 tables inside) and a really tasty sandwich. We kept it simple, Philly Cheesesteak. Some might like a few more onions but it was the perfect amount for me as I'm mostly a meat and cheese guy. I hate to say it but Theo's Cheesesteak is probably the worst cheesesteak I've ever had. This shop charges the going rate for cheesesteaks, about $15. The meat is very meager. The bread is not fresh. The Coke from their soda machine tastes like tonic water. I was extremely disappointed eating here. The employees were friendly, which is the only reason I can give an extra star. Other than that, Theo's is a triple threat: bad cheesesteaks, bad fountain soda, and overpriced for the lacking flavor and quality of food. Needless to say I won't be back. Places like Theo's make it hard to "be adventurous" and try new spots to eat. Service was good. The lady was nice as it was our first time. They have enough table and chairs if you decide to eat here but be aware you will smell like the grilled food after. It was one of those lazy days when you just don't feel like getting out the house and wanted to be extra chunky by doordashing some greasy food. So onto Yelp I go, and low and behold, Theo's popped up for cheesesteak. Pictures and reviews made it an easy decision. We ordered through Doordash and I have a feeling they skimped us on everything since we did not dine in and Doordash probably gets a part of their profits. But don't punish the customer just because we didn't feel like dining in. I ordered extra cheese on all sandwiches and one came dry bare-bone without any cheese whatsoever. I also ordered garlic fries and it did not come with garlic. I was hoping for a grease filled bun with savory juicy meat and melt cheese. Instead, I got a dry *ss sandwich that tasted like it had been cooked the day prior and then warmed up in the oven to be delivered to some hungover Doordashers. Came on a Sunday afternoon (2:30 pm). Service was slow, waited 40 minutes for a garlic cheesesteak and curly fries. Originally wanted to eat there in their limited dining space, but my friends and I were on a time crunch so unfortunately was not able to enjoy it fresh. The cook was definitely working hard and apologized several times for the wait despite it being a simple order. By the time I got mine, my friends had already scarfed down their sandwich. There was a new trainee that seemed clueless and seemed lost. Despite the bad experience, the food was decent - on the slightly saltier side and mildly hot despite it being eaten an hour later. There is a variety of sandwich options, and it taste better than your average Philly cheesesteaks in the Bay. I really enjoyed myself and got full with the 12 inch sandwich. Things that could be improved is the cleanliness of the tables to dine, it's a small space so most folks get their food to go from my observations, and parking sucks! It comes with mushrooms, onions (I opted out), cheese (provolone), choice of meat (I chose steak), and their housemade "white spider steak sauce". It was delicious. The sauce has some kick to it. At first when I unwrapped my sandwich I was scared but after I took my first bite and all the flavors blended together and formed this massive group hug of deliciousness, I knew I'd be back for more. This place is definitely worthy of its high rating. Theo's was the first food recommendation I was given when I moved to the area and it did not disappoint. 5 stars for flavor. I love the bread they use for the sandwiches. It held up well without succumbing to all the juices and sauce in the sandwich. I'm a sucker for a teriyaki cheese steak so I went for that with provolone, along with curly fries and a side of cheez whiz to dip them in. The sandwich was AMAZING. The curly fries were a tad too salty, but I still ate them. Not much to say about service as you just order from a counter. Definitely order ahead because this place is SMALL, with only one small table inside and not really a suitable place for sitting and eating, especially with a group. I would totally order it again. This place screams hole-in-the-wall and is located across from the Bayfair Center. Yikes... Based on the 4-star average reviews, I'd been wanting to check out Theo's for a while. When you're craving a good cheesesteak, nothing else will do! Finally gave it a try when my nephew was in town from Sac. Since it was my first time, just got a basic 'steak "wit'" (grilled onions) and Cheese Whiz. Well, it was pretty awful. Very salty, bland and flavorless meat..! The cheese was fine, and the best part was the roll (thankfully they use Philadelphia's famous Amoroso's rolls). Maybe Theo's is known more for their special 'steaks, as they have quite a selection of special combination cheesesteaks but I figure if they can't get the standard 'steak right, I'll go elsewhere. Even The Cheesesteak Shop and Jersey Mike's 'steaks are significantly better... I need to mention that I have been to Philly several times and have eaten at Pat's, Geno's, Jim's, Dellassandro's, Tony Luke's, etc. Pretty high standards to live up to. Still, based on my first visit to Theo's, I will not return. It might have been just an off day for them but I always say, sometimes a business only gets one chance to get a regular customer, especially when there are several other options for better cheesesteaks in the area. Delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I went for the 10" sweet & hot peppers w/provolone and my buddy had the 10" hot peppers w/American cheese. I was craving a cheesesteak and was looking for places to try in the area. I usually go to The Cheesesteak shop but wanted to see what else was around. I found Theo's and I am so glad i did! The shop is very small so if you wanna eat there its only room for maybe 4 people. The guy who took my order was also the cook so looks like its a one man show.
