I am in town for a couple of weeks and needed to get a few things for Christmas things that I am currently working on. After spending way too much time I finally got to the registers to check out. Two items were 30% off, I used a 40% percent coupon on one item and a Christmas item that was 50% off. I also had three skeins of yarn that were advertised as 30% off according to the tag but the young lady said that they were regular price. I chose not to hold up the line and left the yarn behind. Frustrating!! I decided to go back and take a picture of the sign and talk to one of the Managers. I showed her the photo and she promptly took me to another register and rang it up honoring the 30% off. The sign should have been removed on 11/30 but wasn't. Now that is GREAT Customer Service. She apologized for the inconvenience and I thanked her for honoring the discount and the time to make things right. read more

This is the worst store for checkout. Every time I have been here there is a manager overseeing the check stands that have at least 10 people in each line and they do nothing!! She has called for additional checkers that stay for two customers and then leave. If it weren't the only game in town, I'd leave. Add at least 30 minutes to your trip for checkout. read more

I normally don't leave v such low reviews but this is needed. I bought a sewing machine from this store this summer. I never used it vacate I want able to thread the bobbin. I went back to return it today and the cashier just said that she needed another employee to look at it b/c it is a sewing machine. I told her I wasn't able to use it. I waited for about 10 minutes after she called kiera to come to the front, and then I decided to go back to find kiera or any sewing employee and she wasn't there. Then the manager cane and said they woukdnt be able to help me bc I didn't have va receipt and it was passed 90 days since I bought it. This was one of the sathe saddest shopping experiences I've ever had. I cried upon leaving with my little baby. All bc I cloudy find my receipt and vi never even used my machine. Imagine... you enter a store for much needed supplies... you browse around for 15 minutes and collect all the items needed for your craft needs... while heading up to the register they tell you they closed and won't be accepting anything and make you put it all back and leave. Screw you Michael's and Joann's; You got nothing on Hobby Lobby decor. I walked in and nearly dropped to my knees overwhelmed from all the cuteness. My husband and I wandered down countless aisles selecting rustic themed boxes and cake and wood stands for my son's birthday. I kept disappearing on him... Minus one star because as a new mother I'm wary of imported items from Chrina where there's usually quality concerns. It doesn't help there's usually some Proposition yadda yadda sticker. Plus, my husband started itching from all the dust and smells stored in a single confined area. I can't wait to stock up on holiday and seasonal decor once my son gets a little older. Sent 3 emails to customer service. Purchased at Hobby Lobby Burbank on June 3 a Brother PE535 Embroidery Machine in a box. Got home and opened box and it was a Singer Brilliance Sewing Machine! Went to Hobby Lobby Burbank and talked to Jesse the Manager that I did not get the machine I paid for. He said the policy is he can not accept returns even though I got wring machine inside the box! He said to contact Brother the manufacturer. I reached out to Brother Company and they said they do not make Singer sewing machines and to go back to Hobby Lobby manager. Spoke with Raul another Hobby Lobby manager who said he would forward info to Hobby Lobby Corporate. I still have not received any phone calls or emails from Hobby Lobby Managers or from its Corporate as of June 11. If you check the website, Hobby Lobby sells both machines - the Brother PE 535 and Singer Brilliance Sewing machine that are involved in the wrong machine in the box incident. i am very disappointed. Request refund. This is an arts and crafts superstore but customer service is lacking. Buyer Beware. If you discover you got the wrong item - customer service is terrible. June 18, 2020 Finally received an email from corporate customer service answering my email dated 6/4/2020 - 2 weeks ago. States can not help because the box was opened!!! My complaint was that I did not get the machine I paid for. The wrong machine was in the box I paid for. Also Hobby Lobby sells both machines involved in the mix up. They sell both Brother Embroidery Machine and Singer Brilliance Sewing Machine. Also, I visited Joann's on June 18,2020 and they sell same machine $100 cheaper at $299.99. 1st: not given the advertised discount (had to drive the 20min back to get the price adjusted) 2nd: EK round puncher did not cut the cardstock as it was supposed to 3rd: went the very next day, less than 24hrs, and was at first told I might NOT be able to return it because I opened it! How else would I have known it didn't work? I don't know. 4th: after waiting for someone to come view the puncher, She asked "what" I was trying to punch, when I told her "cardstock", she asked if it was GLITTER CARDSTOCK...I guess that's a no no? In any case, they would not accept the fact that the item was defective. So, after much ado and accusations, they (while rolling her eyes and stating that it was broken) they gave me my money back. Why do they have a sheet showing their cashiers what's on sale? Why is it not programmed into their registers? Why couldn't they just acknowledge that sometimes (it happened with a Martha Stewart punch @ Michaels) items are defective from the factory? Hobby Lobby- the super mega store was super mega unhelpful. I called them to ask if they had any special holiday crafts that could incorporate a printed out photo I have, since I'm not a crafter. The woman was rude and transferred me to the Craft department, I explained the same thing. She said she had no craft ideas and to come in to the store. But the store is 40 min away from me. I asked what type of craft I could do with a photo, be she could name not one! I asked if This was the craft department, she said yes. Then I asked it didn't seem she was much of a crafter. She just kept saying come in and look for what I want- but how do I know what I want if I know nothing about crafts. That why I called hobby lobby for help. The second woman then hung up on me My other issue with hobby lobby is that their marketing is based off of scamming people to think their marketing is a steal. Basically everything is some % of the retail price off the original. It's always been tho way. They intentially print signage like this to give you the illusion you are getting a "deal". Really mostly it's just poor quality Also, what type of store makes the employee type in EVERY SINGLE sku number, you can't afford a scanner? We went to this store for the first time today. We were surprised that all the employees working there were very grumpy and had sour looks on their faces and bad attitudes. We asked one employee "hi, how are you doing today?" And she responded sarcastically with "just dandy" with a sour look on her face, hung her head down and walked away. Some other employees who looked like disguised gang members who were stocking the Christmas stuff, made rude remarks after we said something to them about it being early for Christmas. This store has a whole lot of stuff for a 70's Style Stay-at-Home Den Mother with too much time on her hands, but this store doesn't offer a lot for the real world! They should have put in a Wal-Mart - Tacky, but at least they would have real world items and not a bunch of useless junk! Low prices and friendly service make Hobby Lobby a great place to shop for arts and crafts. My wife loves the selection and the low prices here. After we bought a big coffee table, we needed some decor items to fill the open space. We picked up a tray, candle and some decor pieces. The whole thing was under $50. I love the product selection of this Hobby Lobby location. Its big, bright, and always fully stocked with everything you need. HOWEVER, there is a big problem here that makes me never want to return each time I walk out the door. It has ALWAYS taken me at least 20 minutes to check out of here, no matter how long or short the line is, and no matter how many cashiers they have on hand. It's so ridiculous!!! My shopping experience is ruined each and every time. During the holidays the lines at Michael's and Jo-Ann's will be wrapped around the front of the store and I am STILL checked out in less than half the time. At Hobby Lobby there may be 3 people in front of me and I'm standing there waiting for an eternity... I don't think I will frequent Hobby Lobby like I will the other big craft stores. I will NEVER shop here. I ordered something on-line and not only did I NOT receive it, no one bothered to let me know they cancelled the order. I had to place TWO calls. On the first call, they told me that my order would be shipped out. On the second call, I was finally told that they were out of stock. I'm not sure that I'm rating the same place as the other reviewers. My experience here has alway been awful. The reason that I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because of their vast selection of merchandise. Literally, anything you could want as far as art and crafting you can find here. The prices are somewhat expensive. The 40% off regular price item coupon is really handy. I don't know why people are fooled into believing they are getting a deal on 50% off merchandise. It says it is ALWAYS 50% off. Which means its not actually 50% off. Its the same price everyday. I can put a 50% off sign in front of anything and make it seem like a great deal. The "50% off" is Still way more than I would pay for most of the generic crap they have anyway. How many giant letters in varying materials does one person need?! The religious stuff, is gross, but whatever. To each their own. I've been here 3 times and every single time it has taken me anywhere from 10-30 minutes to check out. Someone was returning something in front of me, and the cashier called the manager over 5 times for ONE return. 30 minutes later, I'm finally walking out the door with my 2 items. UGH. This place is like Michael's on steroids! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by multiple smiling faces. Everyone I encountered was so happy and helpful. The assistant manager is very knowledgeable and accompanied me on my journey to find my sketching materials. The prices are probably a little cheaper than the other craft stores I've been to and they selection of materials is vast! This is regarding returning items to Hobby Lobby store #584. There is only ONE register that does returns (register 6) and ELENA S moves at a glacial pace. I was returning items I bought the day before at the Hawthorne store #850. I walk in and I'm the 4th person waiting to do a Return. ELENA S, kept having to call over a woman she called MARSHA for help. So I assumed she's learning/training. Unfortunately, Ms. MARSHA was running all over the front of the store, running from one phone to call for someone over the PA and then running to another phone for another announcement over the PA. Causing even more of a back up in assisting with returns. Finally, it's my turn. The returning process begins: I have the items, my receipt, and the card I used in my hands. ELENA S looks the items over and starts marking up the receipt. She notices that one item I'm returning doesn't have a tag. I let her know I purchased it without the tag. She can't find an item number etc. She has no clue. She calls for her main girl, Ms. MARSHA. While waiting for Ms. MARSHA to get some additional steps in between. I mention if there are other registers to do returns. Since there are 2 more people waiting. She misunderstands and explains again that the pillow doesn't have a tag. I repeat my question, she repeats her " answer". Here comes MARSHA looks at the pillow and mentions the item is missing the tag. WHEW thank god she noticed. She tells ELENA S to call a woman who's name sounds like Arpi but I'm not sure. Another woman comes and explains to me it doesn't have tags. Another woman (we're at 4 women now) my annoyance is at about a 6.5 at this point. The 3rd woman looks to me and let's me know there's no tag on the item, now My annoyance is at 8. The 4th girl grabs the tag-less item, knocking a bunch of other items, announcing she's going to go grab her manager and try to find this item in the store. I look the item up online- it's no longer on the hobby lobby website. May I mention, the item, IS A CHRISTMAS ITEM. An item I bought not just 24 hours ago. What is the deal?! There's too many cooks in the kitchen. I'm over this it's cheap shit anyways. I let ELENA S know I'll keep the tag-less item, just wrap this up so I can get the hell out of there. ELENA S says ok, but she's doing the return manually. WHAT?! WHY?! I let it go and let her finish. I'm assuming she didn't realize the barcodes for hobby lobby receipts are on the back. Please pray for these people in Burbank. Not sure how they get through life. Additional Note: please please take the drive and go to the Hawthorne store- It's twice the size of the Burbank one and the staff is actually knowledgeable and friendly. I'll give it 4 stars because it's huge, but I must say I wasn't THAT impressed. I ventured here to find some bling for my graduation cap. When I walked in, I felt instantly overwhelmed (in a good way)! So many aisles to look through. What I like about this place is that they have crafts and decor for every holiday already up. This would come in handy for when I have productions that center around specific holidays. However, I thought this was a place that would be cheaper than the usual craft place like Michael's. It's around the same price, actually, which really surprised me. In fact, i found all I needed from Michael's, while Hobby Lobby only had a couple of things. I have seen ads about this place and I was really excited to what this place was all about. The place is huge well organized and there is a lot of stuff for different arts and crafts. I had a list for some canvas and they didn't stock the size. After roaming through the store I noticed that the stuff was over priced and not really worth the drive. The only thing good about the store is that I got one and one half hours of walking. Bad thing I didn't buy anything. What an amazing place. Think of a Michael's but less expensive with less locations that also happens to be owned by Christians. I've heard of this amazing place called Hobby Lobby but have never been inside of one until this past weekend. Personally, I found it to be a bit intimidating because there was just so much to look at. However, I focused solely on wedding things given that this is what I came into Hobby Lobby for. The prices weren't bad but if you're patient enough it's worth waiting a week because it seems like everything goes on sale every other week. For instance, I went in for wedding invites and found ones I really liked but my fiancé wasn't to keen on the price. Therefore, trying to compromise I vowed to look around a little bit more. This is one of the worst non customer service stores in BURBANK! Last year I vowed to never return, after today I regret I did. I can not say this corporation is prejudice as they have an African American manager however I can only say it's the people hired in the store that make you feel that way. Today I went looking for elastic material, I was directed to the fabric area, no one was there, I saw a Caucasian male and asked for his assistance. He directed me to an area, I told him I looked and didn't see it and he then told me " I don't know what to tell you then"and then preceded to walk away. As he turned his back he questioned that he could get someone. You can only imagine my thoughts. 8-10 mins later he walks by as if he never had the conversation and I was just standing there walking around. I eventually found what I was looking for with no help. I then stood in line waiting for check out and a young cashier redirected me to lane 11. That made me smile until it was time to exchange monies. My purchase was $9.37 I handed her a 20 dollar bill, she recited she would give me change, I told her I have the 37 cents, I handed her 37 cents she then pulled a 10 dollar bill out of the register and purposely placed it on the on the counter for me to pick up. I was confused as I had my hand out to receive it. Then she grabbed her hand sanitizer and squeezed some in her hand while I was standing there. I was a little taking back and watched as she checked out the next customer and let me just say, she did not do the same thing to them. I will Never EVERY shop at this location AGAIN even if my life depended on it. Absolutely Horrible service and people treatment. This experience closely reminds me of the first visit I had last year, which is why I didn't return. I was told to go to Michaels for my purchase today, I should have.
