This past weekend I was in Peoria for an event and decided to check out the Hobby Lobby. As usual, I went crazy and bought a ton of cool stuff. My receipt seemed a bit high but I had too many things to audit my purchase at the time. Once I got home and went through my items I realized I was overcharged by $15. I called the store and was told I would have to bag all my items up and come back to the store and they would "review the cameras". One of my Christmas items (supposed to be 50% off) was labeled "Sewing", so it was not discounted. And the other error was that I bought Two $5 items and was charged for THREE. Since I'm unable to gather all the items (which are now wrapped or displayed) and I don't have time to drive 30 min. each way I am out $15. Don't go to this Hobby Lobby especially if you need anything framed. The framing associate by the name of LEE (old white man) was completely rude to me. I asked him for some advice about framing a newspaper and he wouldn't even look up and acknowledge me from what he was doing at the framing counter. When asking for advice he finally looked up at me and replied "I don't know you'll need to bring in the newspaper" with a sour look on his face like I was bothering him. He didn't inquire if there was anything in regards to the shape or a border or what ever other information he could give as he is a framing specialist. I'm trying to think of something this place doesn't have. It's too hard, moving on. When you are getting married and most of what you are planning is DIY, having large selection on things helps a lot, and when you can get almost anything at 40% off that helps even more. Michales and Jo-Anns has some good wedding stuff, but they also have a lot of the same wedding stuff. This particular visit, we went in to buy some fabric, we are making our own table runners, and since we are doing "family style" seating with three 8ft banquet tables long, we need a bunch of pieces of long cut fabric. We went in on a Sunday, they had the fabric but not enough, not to worry, they cna order it and it will get there in less than a week. That is better than any online retailer could offer and cheaper too. I haven't even walked all the way around the store because I'm not into much of that stuff, but it is a great store. read more

There are picture frames and they do framing, fake flowers for decorating, all kinds of nick nacks for house decor and outside decor too. Hobby Lobby is every crafter's fantasy! Like others have mentioned, this place has it all! It's hard to not spend hours upon hours browsing their inventory imagining what you can create next. I took my niece here and we had a blast picking out things to make together. I was very impressed with this location because it was well organized, clean, and the aisles were roomy. I was equally impressed with their fabric selection. They have great sales each week! The only drawback is that they still hand key every item. Having said that, they do a good job training their employees to type fast and to be knowledgeable on the weekly deals. Had some custom frames done there. They said it would take two weeks. The day before it's supposed to be done I called in to check if it was done. They inform me the frames I picked were discontinued. so I had to come pick up my stuff after waiting two weeks and they did nothing. They didn't call me to warm me that they wouldn't make the deadline. They also offered nothing as far as using a different frame that is similar. Just straight up said "sorry, yeah we should have called you weeks ago. Guess you can come in and pick up your artwork." Amazing! Worst customer service ever. I appreciate Hobby Lobby's card selections and Fabric Room. Was able to get such sweet cards for a baby boy and a baby girl. When I brought the baby boy's Mom to Hobby Lobby, she was so thrilled with the tiny buttons that were in the fabric room! She also chose a very soft cotton knitting fiber. I bought 2 frames for my grandfathers funeral and went into the store 4 days later and they were in sale for half off. The manager refused to honor the sales price because I didn't have the frames with me. It was extenuating circumstances and they should have helped me. After dinner nearby my friend wanted to pick up some things she only knew that Hobby Lobby had. I was mostly just wandering the store and noticed they had some office supplies that lent themselves to different types of crafts. I found a package of laminating sheets for the sign on my front door at work. I don't do much in the way of crafts but I noticed that had lots of fake plants and stuff to make your own arrangements. This review is specific to the custom frame shop at Hobby Lobby. We have been coming to frame our fine art here for about 4 or 5 years. Luckily Daniel in the frame shop helped us the first time, and he is the only person that we would trust with our pieces of art. Daniel has an exceptional eye for matte colors, frame styles and sizes. He always takes pristine care of our art...and obviously loves his craft! This location has a great selection of anything you may need. However, employees are really hard to find if you need any assistance. While searching for an item today, an older associate named Connie rushed by me. I could tell she was in a hurry so I simply asked her if there were any employees available to help me find an item. She told me, "I'm on a break." Although I can laugh at the blatant rudeness of her response, I would suggest if she doesn't want customers talking to her, to remove her apron and name tag. VERY DECEPTIVE PRACTICES: They refused to honor their own 40% off coupon on a non-sale item even after I called, spoke to an employee and specifically asked. We saw a piece of furniture and left the store because we needed to measure the area and BEFORE going back up to this store, called and was told, yes but be sure to bring the coupon which would have saved approx $80. Once back at the store that same employee told us NO and she was rude to us as well. They have signs posted that the furniture "is always marked a discounted price", so as I tried to explain that their own policy shows it's not "a sale" price and not excluded by print on coupon either. She told me to call their corporate office. She didn't even bother to speak to a manager. They have poor customer service skills shop elsewhere. read more

I'll start by saying I prefer Michaels. My daughter loves Hobby Lobby. I've been to exactly 2 locations in my entire life & this one is definitely lacking at times. My issues with it are the lack of available items at times. Inventory is either over abundant or next to nothing, there is no in between. I also don't like the atmosphere or the lines. It reminds me of Walmart. There are always long lines & the cashiers take forever to look up codes & check you out. Throughout the store there is also a general lack of available customer service. Unfortunately we need it every time we go because my daughter purchases art supplies that they keep locked up. This is a huge inconvenience (& at times we were made to feel that way from the associates that we had to ask to help us with locked display cases). It's definitely not a very welcoming place...altho most of the staff is right up front when you enter the store, no one acknowledges you. Granted their stock doesn't change very often (with the exception of their seasonal stuff of course) I can always find what I need when I come in. My wife, daughter and myself shop here quite often, we always find such great unique items to adorn our house with. One of the great things I love is how easy it is to use coupons right from the phone and that they allow you to share this with the other customers who have no phone with them or don't have a smart phone. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, when we have to ask questions they have been very knowledgeable about the products and if the first person cannot answer our question, they are quick to find someone who can! We are quick to go to their close out aisle where you can get great bargains on hugely marked down items, we have purchased a lot of our outdoor decorations in this fashion. My wife loves to paint, whenever time allows, and Hobby Lobby allows her to stock up on her supplies without breaking the bank. read more
