If you aren't a person of "Caucasian descent" you can kiss any type of Customer Service goodbye. This store has everything you need, but I would rather spend my money elsewhere. The workers are rude, they don't say excuse if they are passing by you unless you are White. If you ask a worker a question, they will give a look of stupidity unless you are White. What makes matters worse is that this is supposed to be a Christian based store, yet the people they hire are pretty much racist. Can't even shop inside, we're already in June it's only going to get hotter. Went inside and felt I had to leave after a few minutes. Very stuffy and hot inside the store. Usually i love this store, but this experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. The cashier "Grace" was so rude that I had to literally look around to see if it was a prank or something. She was already giving attitude to the sweet old lady in front of me and aggressively snatching items out of her hands. Then when it came to my turn she literally did not say a word... not even "hi" and just had this disgusting scowl on her face. She looked like she was ready to punch me even though I had done nothing I simply just walked up to the register. Great stuff in the store so that's why i might come back BUT not if i see this employee, because if I do then I am turning right back out and leaving. What a missed opportunity! Was so excited to visit Hobby Lobby for the 1st time and was pleasantly surprised upon entering - large, well-lit, clean store with gentle music playing. But after doing 2 laps around the store, I came to some very disappointing realizations... 1 - Half of the floor space is devoted to folk art & knick knacks; soooo many framed pics of cows and dust collectors to put on your shelves 2 - You're not going to believe this one... no gift wrap, no tissue paper, no gift bags. WTH?! Half of the store is cow pics and you can't be bothered to stock these couple essential items? 3 - This one is a real head scratcher too... You all know how hard it is to find an item at Home Depot right? Well imagine if Home Depot had no signs indicating aisle number or aisle contents, that's this freaking place! Only way to find something is to look down every aisle! Don't bother asking an employee, because there are no aisle numbers they'll stand there and count approximately how many aisles away something is and send you off! I really had such high hopes for Hobby Lobby and couldn't have been more disappointed. The only good thing is that now I'll have a much greater appreciation for Michael's. read more

Nice arts and crafts store at the old Toys R Us location. It's pretty easy to find what you need. Staff aren't as helpful as the Michaels' staff but the store has a better layout than Michaels. They have some interesting finds as well here. Checkout takes less time than at Michaels. I haven't tried any of their custom made products but their other items are good. read more

Hobby lobby is pretty cool if you're interested in decorating your home or even a cool little bar or restaurant. They have a good amount of props you can use to decorate a place. Unfortunately there is no more coupons being used for Hobby Lobby you have to just come the week of there sale instead. read more

I just wanna thank Andrea for calling for more cashiers because of course everyone and their mama needed to check out at once. The line was super long I didn't intend on buying anything but. Gift card but when I saw the candles on sale I grabbed 4 for my sister so trying to juggle the candles and gift card phone etc she saw me struggling and took me so I didn't have to wait any longer! Compared to the Lakewood store this one has been disappointing since they opened. I've given them several opportunities to prove me wrong, but the employees are not motivated to help. Why are the employees so miserable in here! If you don't want to be helpful AND WORK then do not work in a customer service job. Store manager LOU or something like that was extremely helpful, of course we had to ask for him twice from two different employees who didn't know how to do a return from an online order. When we asked to speak to the manager because the first and second lady did not know how to make an exchange, the second lady laughed and said "sure I'll call the manager" in A very condescending way. The Torrance location across from the Del Amo Mall. This location is the second time we have been here. The store is fabulous. The first visit we purchased jewelry items, molds and Candles. The second visit, I had a return, the associate was knowledgeable with returns and friendly. During this visit, I purchased flowers which are 50% off, Awesome Price's. My daughter purchased beads and findings for jewelry making. The Manager Mari was terrific, in the check out line, she saw a line forming and opened, helping the other associates. We are happy that we have a Hobby Lobby in our area. read more

The store is great and the prices are very good. However that being said, I have taken two needlework projects to be framed, I will not take another until they have managed to hire staff who know what they are doing with a bit more experience. I had trouble with both projects. Lesson learned. The framing staff is still to new. read more

Wow! I just had the best experience buying fabric. The lady there, her name is Deborah, was so knowledgeable about the types of fabrics I needed for my project. She helped me figure out how much fabric I needed and suggested that I get some matching thread and some other things to go with it. She showed me where everything was and I really appreciated that. She went above and beyond being helpful and her smile made me feel so welcome! read more

My first time and last going to this location the manager Kassandra is rude!! My daughter had her heelys on she told her she couldn't use them there. She wasn't even skating on them! To top it off as we were checking out she went and just waited on the exit as if we were going to steal. I will be making a big complain she was RACIST!!!! read more

I would like to send appreciation to Joshua!!! He was so kind and helpful and unfortunately we had to deal with the extremely rude manager first. I did not get her name but she had long blond hair and big fake eyelashes. She was rude and dismissive when we had a receipt in our hand for a Christmas tree my 83 year old mom had bought and paid for. She made us feel bad for not picking it up faster, and when she said it was coming I said THANK YOU and she nodded at me. Rude. And then Joshua came out and was pleasant and happy and showed us on top of the box it said DELAYED PICK UP. He said he knew exactly where it was and was expecting us to get it. And the RUDE manager told us it might be gone. Even though we had a paid receipt. I'm sorry but BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. She is not someone I will EVER deal with again. If I even go back. First visit to this location and color me...not impressed. Shopping was alright. I had a list of baking items I was looking for on behalf of someone else and it was relatively easy to locate items on the appropriate aisle. About a third of the things I was looking for were out of stock but this stuff was on 50% off sale so I understand not having the shelves brimming with product. The checkout is what was god awful. I guess the store is pretty new but I would have kind of expected the employees to be relatively newly trained and have customer service on their minds before they get jaded and unhelpful. Well, somehow the front was littered with employees including both cashiers and management and yet just about no customers were being helped. The only register that seemed to be fully functioning was the one marked returns/exchanges and a line rapidly formed there for checkout. The other cashiers all seemed to be leaving soon and were dawdling about the front or cleaning with their "register closed" signs up probably just waiting to be able to clock out. One employee directed me to a checkout lane that actually had the "register closed" sign up and the cashier who was still behind the desk just looked at me and left the desk without trying to direct me elsewhere or letting me know she couldn't help me. I placed my brother and the cart of stuff I was buying in the growing returns lane and was going to ask the managers if they would be opening up more lanes. The store had another hour of open hours so it seemed odd to get all your checkout cashiers off register at exactly an hour before you close. Luckily, an employee came from the floor area and looked to be getting on register just then and I asked her if she would be doing check out. She said she was, so I was able to check out with her. She was older and very nice but the checkout process was really long, like 10 minutes for less than 15 items, because of their ridiculous no barcode system, so she had to type all the prices and discounts in which was not a speedy process. It turns out that she missed the discount for my most expensive item. I don't see why they have all these managers up front, if they can't be bothered to manage their store and make sure things are flowing smoothly instead of standing around gossiping about this being their last day at this store and whatever else they were doing. No idea why you wouldn't want people to actually checkout and purchase the items you are selling but they all seemed oblivious to the crowd growing that just wanted to make purchases. I hope they get better service over time but I probably won't go check out this location again to see if it does improve. It was just convenient for my other errands but if I really wanna go to a hobby lobby of all craft stores (ha) there is another location closer to me that I can head to. read more

Horrible store! I have been to other locations & love the store but this new location is by far the worst. I asked if an item was on sale, she pulled out this big folder and started to look for my item. I asked her to scan it & it should tell her the price. I was told 'oh no, we key in the price. What is this 1980? Next land over same issue. The sales person said that the item is not in sale. My sales rep shouted 'it's in sale'. Stay away from this store location. read more

I really wanted to share a 5-star experience. I wanted to get something framed, and I've always loved Hobby Lobby. This was my first time to the new Torrance location. Beautiful store, which is why I gave them 2 stars at least. I made 3 efforts to get someone back to assist me in framing. Kept walking to the front and politely asking for help. They assured me they called someone. On my third attempt, I let them know no one was showing up. Unfortunately, I had to take my business to Michael's, where they're staffed up in their store to assist with framing. I would still recommend this store if you know what you're coming in for and require no assistance. I can't recommend a service you need staff assistance at this time. Hopefully, management will improve on this area! read more

This was my first time stepping into a hobby lobby as it is new to my location. They have their competition across the street which is Jo-Ann's and not too far is Michael's. Unfortunately they're competitors have better customer service checkout. The customer service manager at hobby lobby had two different name badges, one by the name of Mari and another by Patricia. There was 6 people in the line with one register when I got up front. When the manager decided to come up and by the time I checked out there was 12 people in line. The reaction time to have other team members come to the registers to check out customers took a long time. Their team members seem to have no sense of urgency. I'll be back because they have a lot of variety to choose from but the customer service needs some work. Just being a new store, I would expect the customer service to be top-notch. read more

Despite having an immense amount of employees, I would say not even half of them know where their merchandise is in their store. The employees are HORRIBLE and RUDE. Not only are the managers powerless but they IGNORE you. While I'm walking out of the door saying "thank you, happy holidays" the manager with blonde hair refuses to look and acknowledge me after saying "thank you have a good night" to the customers leaving before me. This was after trying to solve our price adjustment (which was their fault) but forcing us to wait back in line where the cashiers have to manually input each item and have to look up each item on the sale flyer to see if it's on sale. This is all happening at closing time where we all want to go home but the cashier immediately had an attitude because the manager told us to go to her register despite having a closing sign on it.
