I have not been to a mall in at least five years, so I had no expectations as I wandered into this store recently. Upon entry, a congenial gal complimented me on my skirt and asked if I got it at Anthropologie which I did, and we made some pleasant small talk. The store was well organized, and I grabbed a couple of things to try on. While looking for the friendly employee for size help, I unfortunately encountered a grouchy lady who ended up assisting me; she was downright rude and snippy. In fact, she was repeatedly off-putting to extent that it's not necessary to go into to detail and identify her b/c no doubt her colleagues feel the same way-awful attitude. It was also strange despite signs throughout the store that indicate customers would get $100 off a $300 purchase (fantastic deal!), the cashier (another employee) was clearly not going to apply it without me prompting her to do so. Consequently, she needed to ask someone-presumably the manager-for assistance to do this. I get it because I've been new in a workplace and proper training on the job is necessary. The whole experience was just sort of jarring and perplexing, but I dismissed it because I'm not a regular, experienced brick and mortar shopper these days. A reason for this mediocre experience was later elucidated when I sat down solo at the bar at PF Chang's and told the bartender that she was an overall MUCH more superior server than I ever was while working for this franchise for six years. That's when another solo diner-manager from the Coach store-beside me chimed in. She said she's been trying to get this bartender to come work at her store because it's difficult to find people like her who have such a positive and enthusiastic work ethic. Then it clicked: apparently, there must be a shortage of quality applicants in the retail business. Overall, I'll still drop into this store if I happen to go to this mall since I like the merchandise, while knowing that the retail industry, in general, may simply be in some sort of transitional limbo at this point. read more

Disappointed. I shopped at the Torrance location on New Year's day (January 1, 2026). Sadly this was the worse customer service I have receiced at an Anthropology store. The associates weren't very nice. In addition., I have experienced way better service at other Anthropology locations i have shopped at.. The Torrance location is the worst (they should train their associates to be pleasant to customers and not on the rude side). read more

This is absolutely my favorite place to shop for my wife. I scored hubby points when I come here and she almost always likes my picks. There's an ample variety of styles and prices to consider for clothes, plus many other items to shop for, including nice dishes, perfumes, and dish towels. I've gotten jackets, blouses, sweaters, and more. At times I've had to exchanges sizes, but usually it's been easy to find a replacement. The staff is always helpful and attentive. read more

This is my favorite store. I love the Maeve and Pilcro line and they carry alot of this line along with plenty of sizes not just one of each size. The sales associates most of the time are very nice and helpful. However, I purchased a $130 sweater and it came in the mail shoveled in a clear bag. When I received it in this manner it made me not even want to open it so back to the store I went. The guy that was helping me was so unfriendly. I mentioned to him that a sweater with that price tag should be just shoved in a bag and sent off. I know he's not the one that packed it but he represents the brand and he could have cared less. He just said "ok" instead of apologizing and telling me he'll talk to the corporate office or SOMETHING other than OK. read more

This Anthropologie is one of my favorites. The layout is neat and interesting. They always have Royal Apothic candles burning (I still miss my Edwardian Fireplace one). The staff are friendly and willing to help you out if they aren't swamped. The lines here to checkout are also significantly shorter than other Anthropologies. Of course their products are ridiculously expensive, but they last. I'm one of those who comes in and beelines to the sale section. I've got a decent collection now thanks to the sale section and a few justified "splurges." My one hangup that I had here, was when I fell in love with a magenta elephant print dress in a few sizes too big, and this store told me they located it in a smaller size at Irvine. They told me they would call and have the XS dress put on hold for me, yet when my boyfriend went to the Irvine location, they had no idea what was going on. Irvine ended up ordering me a small since the XS sold, and eventually the dress had to be returned because it was too big. So, for those considering having them put things on hold at other stores, be cautious. read more

I absolutely love their clothing, but I can't afford any of it. Everything else is pretty reasonably priced for my budget. They have the absolute best candles, stationary, mugs/kitchen goods. One day, I plan on purchasing a bedding set. The gals here always greet me and make me feel welcomed and there is not a single time I've been here and they aren't moving displays around and such. I love that because the store feels refreshing on every visit. I am a member of their rewards program- don't know the specifics yet, but it's free so why not join! read more

Walked in store at 6:38 pm on Thursday evening1/19/23 and was greeted but then followed around by 2 separate associates. Not cool when the white associates were very obvious. Neither one of the ladies asked if I needed assistance. It felt like I was being profiled. Again, so not cool. Used to be one of my favorite stores. Very disappointed. Anthropology needs to be more diverse with their hiring practices!! read more

LOVE this store. Love the customer service (which has been much improved since coming here when it first opened). Love everything! Ohh, but the prices... If you're needing to get put-together outfits fast, then Anthropologie is great. But the savvier shopper might be able to get some of the Splendid, C&C, etc. brands for cheaper online. Otherwise, their sales are amazing and they've recently expanded the area! :) My real favorite thing to shop for here are the home things. While the website makes everything look fancy, there's nothing like being in-store to see and feel the items. The gift wrapping is simple yet amazing too. They really do a great job in packaging and servicing. read more

OK I get it, it's a fine-scented, boho chic, spacious environment to leisurely browse. That's where the great experience stops. Clothes are overpriced with unfinished edges and other weird details like wide sleeves that go down to your fingertips or an extra-low scoop neck that makes it inappropriate for work. If you want to pay $78 for a t-shirt that's your choice but I'd rather take my hard-earned money elsewhere. Unfortunately I had a well meaning friend give me a pretty-colored sweater that sadly did not fit so I tried to return it with the gift receipt. First, the cashier tried to say that I couldn't exchange it for something else. When I put on my incredulous face, she asked the associate next to her, who said, "Sure!" Strike one for my cashier. The next thing my cashier tried to do is to tell me I have to exchange it for something the same price or higher. Then stared at me blankly without offering any other suggestion for what could make up the difference. I had spent too long looking for something that might fit me (with no one offering help by the way) and was going to be late to my appointment so I finally said, "Not even a store credit?" Sheesh, any reputable retail establishment will give you cash change or store credit for a return with a gift receipt. Again, my cashier tries to get her neighboring associate to back her up and gets strike two -- of course I can get store credit with the gift receipt. Note that they did NOT offer cash for the $20+ change (BTW I didn't find any clothes in that store as low as $20), and if I ever bother to look up their return policy and find out that I could have gotten cash, I will be taking this review down to 1 star. Strike three will be on me if I ever go back there on purpose. read more

In a recent BBC poll, it was discovered that the third most common lie that women are likely to spout is, "It wasn't that expensive." On Jaime's list of lies, this little baby takes the top spot. I am honest -- often to a fault -- except when it comes to admitting to my chronic, and very very expensive, Anthropologie habit. This conversation happens at lease twice a week... PERSON WHO IS NOT ME: Oh! What a great dress! That is so cute! Where did you get it? ME: Anthropologie. And thanks! I really needed a 96th sundress with pockets. Especially because this one has tiny bi-planes it. PERSON WHO IS NOT ME: I didn't even see those! That really is adorable...but isn't Anthropologie expensive? ME: Yes. But man, do they have a great sale room! This dress wasn't that expensive. In fact, it was like a tenth of the price it originally was. (This entire sentence is a lie). You see folks, when I was a poor, starving college student, trips to Anthropologie were mostly for dreaming of the day that I'd be a savvy career woman with money to burn and places to wear rompers and lace shrugs and sundresses with tiny bi-planes on them. There was the occasional splurge on one or two very, very on sale items, which would then become a star attraction in my wardrobe. But oh, how times have changed. I still make a bee-line for the sale room, but when there isn't enough zipper details and corseted sweaters to quench my thirst for faux crafty mass merchandised clothing, I meander around the full priced items. And I inevitably try on something. And, of course, it looks way better than the 14 sale items I dragged into the dressing room. And I NEED TO BUY IT RIGHT NOW. The car ride home becomes my walk of shame. I think "How often am I really going to wear this $98 Apple Mangrove cardigan? And is it really all that different from the three other cream cardigans that are already in my closet." The answers? Yes and yes. I am hoping this is all just a phase. And that I will soon discover that one woman really can have too many whimsical dresses and playful blouses. But for now, I will be in the dressing room, deciding between the Sweet Shoppe Dress and the Southern Chorus Shirtdress. And oh yeah -- this particular location is fantastic. This is one of my favorite stores to go gift shopping! Very different items here. There's lots of variety here as well. Yes, it may be "foo-foo" as some of my guy friends put it, but I find this place very unique. I especially love their 'Volcano' candle. It smells like Hawaiian Punch! I can't get enough. It's a little pricey here but I always swing by if I need a gift idea. read more

Other than the great products here, the customer service is what I have to praise. I came in looking for a dress that I saw online. They didn't carry it in the store and the sales rep more than willing, went online and ordered it for me to ship to my place. Shipping fee is waived. When the dress arrived it didn't fit, and so I went back to the store and returned it with ease. Overall, I was really impressed by the willingness to help me out even though they didn't carry the dress in the store. read more

Nicely laid out store...very reminiscent of the one at Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas. It's a pretty big store so the merchandise has a chance to spread out...which kind of makes it seem less filled than it ought to be. Maybe it was just me, but it seems as if they carry far less clothing (but more housewares) than the Beverly Hills branch. The sale room is small but everything is arranged by color so you can go to the exact area of interest without wasting your time (something BH lacks). Friendly sales people as well....and a great place to find that extra special and unique gift for someone. read more

Ok, maybe I am biased because this review is completely based on a comparison to the store in Irvine.. I went here for the first time this weekend, and I just felt it was a smaller store, and their selection followed suit. My mother has this tradition of letting me get whatever I want from anthro (my favorite store) whenever I compmlete a degree.. so I went in there ready to drop bills!!! Although I also was keeping my eyes peeled for a particular floral belt and hat I saw in the recent catalog, but couldn't find either one. Needless to say I left the store empty handed, and I don't think I am a particularly picky individual; very dissapointing. This review is about my terribly uncomfortable experience making a return at this location. I did not catch the cashiers name, but she had long black hair, I think she was a manager. I made an exchange, and I wanted to reuse the tissue from my previous purchase, she gave me a hard time about it, saying that was "weird" and had an attitude about it as she wrapped up my purchase. Who does that? I was just trying to recycle, but she made me feel so uncomfortable about this and was incredibly rude. read more

I shop at this Anthropologie all of the time and everyone is so nice but this review is specifically for the girl at the register who just processed my returns. She was so rude and condescending and acted personally put out processing my returns as I had separate transactions from online and in store and even at one point said .. direct quote "it helps to be organized with these things". Didn't smile and had a terrible attitude. She has medium length wavy brown hair and was wearing glasses and a sweater with a little scarf tied around her neck. On the shorter side. I should have asked her her name. Everyone here is so nice that her terrible attitude during the holidays really stands out. And people will be returning a lot this month as it is the holidays and maybe this specific person needs a refresher on customer service! read more

High quality selection of clothing, home and bath! very eclectic and the store always smells delicious wherever you walk. (for those with smaller wallets, wait for the sales! they're excellent!) if you're looking for something different but very aesthetically pleasing, then this is the place! (they even have a display team that is considered an internship for art students. Shopping online at their website is a much more productive and fun experience. This store carries items that are more frumpy while the website has a variety of beautiful clothes and accessories. I don't feel this store is in touch with their demographic and many of the more fashionable items available on the website would do well here. I love that it's close so whenever I'm feeling blue I just escape to this little slice of heaven and admire the pretty things. So, I went in to this Anthro today after lunch time. The place wasn't busy at all. No one bothered asking me once if I needed any help. I had a couple of sales associates walk by and not even ask if I needed any help. I had to stop one, and she said she was helping someone else and would get back to me. She never did. I was there for about 15 more minutes and , still, no one offered to assist me. I got tired of waiting so I left. The store itself is as nice as most Anthropologie's. Smells great and looks great. That's why I gave it 3 stars instead of only 2 read more

ANTHROPOLOGY HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE SYSTEM ON THE PHONE. This is the 6th time we have tried to return our living room rug we bought online. I called 6 times over the span of two weeks. Each time they did the same thing. They submitted a return request to the Metro company they work with that delivers and picks up Anthropologie furniture to homes. They said the metro company would email me within 24-48 hours to schedule a time to pick up the rug we ant returned. They never contacted me. I waited till 48 hours passed 5 separate times. We have been through this process 6 times now and it still is not figured out. So much time wasted back and forth on the phone between them, their "furniture department", and the metro company. This is way too much for the customer to do and I can't believe a company as established as Anthropologie has a system this fucked up! read more
