Very rude employees (Irene) in the framing department. It took forever to get help. One of the employees told me that he was helping someone else and then continued to restock the shelves (maybe he was helping an imaginary friend). Irene came out of the back and told me she would be back. After 20 minutes, I asked the guy who continued to stock the shelves if I was going to get help or if I needed to go somewhere else, Irene walked up and told me it was my choice if I wanted to go some where else. So I told her that I would do that after talking to the manager. The store manager couldn't care less. He apologized but never offered to help me. I used to shop here ALOT and recommend them but never again!!! Several artist that I know use it for framing but I will be sure to let them know as well. read more

This was my first time going to a Hobby Lobby and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I went in looking for decorations for my daughters first birthday, it's a Dr. Seuss theme, which has been surprisingly difficult to find. Although I didn't find any actual Dr. Seuss stuff I found a lot of colorful fun items that totally work with the theme. That's not all, they have some really nice decor and I will definitely be coming back when it's time to decorate my new home. I Can't really speak on the professionalism of the staff however as I didn't really interact with anyone, the cashier was friendly enough. My whole house has had a Hobby Lobby makeover. I love this place. It's not always affordable because there are some items that can be pretty pricey and it's easy to get only a few items and it add up very quickly, but boy do I love coming here. I have had many a date night getting coffee and just browsing. I enjoy the atmosphere, but most of all, I love looking at their wide selection. They have a lot of cactus decor, Native American figures, Super Hero items and Star Wars. It has something for everyone. It's all in the name. Whatever your hobby is, they most likely have what you are looking for. My best advice is to get the 40% off coupon offered online. I have saved so much over the years doing just that. The only downfall is that this place is very busy and the cashiers are not always very nice. Rarely do I run into that problem though. I am far from impressed with this location. I went to one closer to home awhile back, and this experience was much different from that one. First of all, I felt judged as soon as I walked in. Sadly, I'm used to that no matter where I am, but this wasn't as mild as it usually is. Literally everyone I passed, shopper and employee, had a staring issue paired with The Look - you know, the "I'm better than you and you don't belong here" look. That wasn't the worst part, though. The selection of things I wanted sucked, but then I saw useless crap that was overpriced and abundant. Go figure. I ended up not buying anything, and got dirty looks upon leaving. As a person who tries to make my kids birthdays special but somewhat financially reasonable, I make many of my own decorations, games, etc. I frequent Michael's & Joann's but often the things I cannot get at these 2 stores I can find at Hobby Lobby. I feel their prices are on par with these other craft stores as well & adding on that 40% off coupon makes it even better! And I appreciate the cool themed home decor items, even if it's usually only to browse them. In response to the reviewer who was upset at they way they were treated because of their looks (i.e. Tattoos were mentioned), as a Christian myself, I have to apologize. This is America & one shouldn't be treated unkindly for how you look or choose to live your life. Freedom of self expression goes right along with freedom of religion. Many people confuse religious affiliation with a right to judge others, which I find odd as that flies in the face of everything Jesus teaches. That being said, I also find it odd that this same reviewer was upset that Hobby Lobby doesn't offer non-Christian religious items (a "boycott of other religions"). I highly doubt this person would find it weird or upsetting to enter some other religiously specific establishment and not find crucifixes, or menorahs, or Buddha statutes, or the Koran on the book shelves. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly at a retail store (especially one that is about creativity and crafting - AND CHRISTIAN VALUES SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT)! I usually avoid this chain at all costs because of their hypocritical..... today, I was stopped at the door as I was running out to my car to get my iPhone that I forgot in my car with the windows wide open. I was being accused of shoplifting. I told them they could hold my bag and escort me to my car to please let me get my phone. They treated me like dirt! I am a WORKING artist and I had been gleefully getting inspired and getting ideas of things and had every intention of purchasing a basket full of creative goodies. I had opened a $1 package of overpriced jewelry findings and discovered it was exactly what I had been searching for for months! I was giddy! I also have a pretty famous dollhouse which is my one source of relaxation and I had been checking to see if these little tiny dolls would fit into these glass domes. Sadly, my VW has some electrical problems with being able to roll up the window and I couldn't get the window to roll up and had to bring my satchel (yeah, I should have left it in the car - but it had my iPad and a very expensive doll among other things in it and I couldn't leave it in the car with the windows down. Here is the thing that makes me the most upset. I was accused of opening a package that I never once even touched! Total value I'd probably $2! Seriously???? I'm not a liar. The employee that originally helped me in the jewelry supplies department could have told me it was a no no to open up any package and I would have apologized and no harm done. I HAD NO IDEA THAT CHECKING TO SEE IF THINGS WERE GOING TO FIT WAS VANSALISM! I shared my experience with employees at Joanns and Michaels afterwards where I dropped $70! SHAME ON YOU! Not only did you ruin my day, you humiliated me and made me feel like I belonged in jail as your swat team of idiots covered me from all angles as I was escorted from your awful store! They loved it! It was disgusting! Shame on you and shame on your employees. Especially the ones who lied! I want to see my finger prints on the crappy plastic bag with a plastic trophy inside that I supposedly stole! I noticed the item. I was more interested in the tiny bird cage! I am an honest person and I was getting inspiration and you falsely treated me like a criminal and then bullied me with threats that you would call the cops and I would be arrested for vandalism. Not worth the wait in the looooong line I've been here five times, bought minor items 3 times. Line, rarely lines, are very long and strange( wait for next cashier in one queue, but hey, buddy, it's ok if you cut in front of those waiting in the queue we told them to form) . I agree, the merchandise is cheap and over priced for the quality. I feel sorry for the cashiers who seem harried. Why so many floor people("managers"?). read more

My review is for the framing section. I needed some mats for a project I was doing for my guest room. I needed a custom size not just available in the pre-cut section. The gentleman in the framing section was great! We were in and out of there with our nicely cut mats in 10 minutes! Awesome service and great prices! read more

Great selection and friendly staff, but the cashiers are ridiculously slow and managers do NOT jump in to help when they are swamped. On my last trip there, I spent over 15 minutes in a line, and the cashier closed in front of me to do a price check...I ended up leaving without my planned purchase and went to Michael's instead. read more

First, it is a trek to go 40 minutes to the other side of Tucson but, I do try to make it for half of the day when I do go! They have a great selection of all kinds of items much better than Michael's or JoAnn's. For those that are complaining about being closed on Sunday REALLY!? Is that inconvenient well yeah but plan better! And the others that are making an issue of having a lot of Christian items DEAL with it! They have plenty of items that are not. I don't complain because 95% of the other stores don't have ANY Christian items---Michael's, JoAnn's, Target, WalMart or where ever else. One of the cashiers Is extremely rude I went in to buy a house full of items at the last minute and went to cash out 10mins before closing and I received the worst customer service everrrrrr so bad that another worker felt bad for me and if it wasn't for the fact that I had kids with me I probably would have made a scene ... Hobby Lobby is one of the best places to shop. I have shopped them for years in other cities. They make the other craft stores expensive as they are. I by passed several times by employees who never ask if I was finding everything or even if they could assist me. I recently moved to Tucson from another state where I frequently visited a Hobby Lobby store, On my first trip to this particular store, I found two large pieces of decor and paid for them. They held them until the next day when I could return with a friend who placed them in his truck. A week later, I returned to the same store to purchase several items. They were having a sale on candles, so I selected 3 boxes of tealights where the sign hung. I was also looking for some very small, decorative type nails. However after being by passed several times, with others near me being asked if they needed help, I was ignored consistently over the period of one hour, became extremely annoyed, and just took my candles to the check out counter. Well, I was told I had to pay regular price for the candles even though they were with the "Sale" sign. To put it mildly, your customer service is horrible, in fact, it doesn't exist. Customer service should be your top priority. Without customers, there would be NO business and the store would close. Apparently, this store is disturbed too much by the the presence of customers to assist them. This leaves me no choice but to take my business to another store. On July the 25th I was shopping at this store, in search of a hobby glue syringe. I went to the bathroom and a person followed me into the bathroom. I thought nothing of it at first until that person exited and came back indicating that I needed to finish up what I was doing and come out. What did I do? There were at least five men including a woman involved in the process. What did I do? One of gentleman asked what I was doing in the bathroom, I said taking a crap and rolling a cigarette. He asked if I was rolling a marijuana joint? I said no that it was tobacco. He asked for it and I voluntarily gave it to him. He told everyone else that "yes'm it was tobacco." They said sorry and I believe that I was profiled, followed into the bathroom and my privacy was invaded. I have many artist friends. I'll be sure to let them know I was profiled because of the color of my skin and probably other reasons, only they would know. Never again. read more
