Excellent store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We stopped in while Christmas shopping as our son wished for an RC car this year. Tired of spending money on cars that don't last we went to see what they had. The associate who helped us was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out several in our price range that met our needs. We went to HobbyTown on Tuesday after my son ordered an RC Truck online and thought it might be garbage. We are new to the south metro area (didn't know this place existed) and after visiting this store, we wished we would've started here instead of online. Their staff was incredibly helpful and we were beyond impressed when they said the truck he bought was a very good one and he should keep it. They easily could've lead him in a different direction purely to benefit their company bottom line. Instead we bought an adapter for him to charge his truck with a standard outlet and promised to be back when he inevitably breaks some of the stock parts. After our son had the 'online purchased' truck charged and played with it for a bit, he decided he loved it........but now he thinks he wants to return it to buy the one we saw in their store that was bigger and only $30 more. read more

Found HobbyTown fairly recently within the past several months. I didn't even know the shop was here until I drove to an arts store right across the lot with not much customer service in the arts store I might add. I had been ordering quite a few painting supplies from two separate suppliers, both back east, and purchasing other painting and hobby supplies from a nearby craft store. This HobbyTown has a variety of supplies for a multitude of hobbies, and had just the brand of paint that I use and needed, plus tools, masking tape, and other items I needed from Woodland Scenics. I appreciate the customer service here as well which is great, as well as the reward points. Having a shop this close by has made my hobby work a lot easier without having to order supplies and have them shipped halfway across country. I'll be supporting this shop from now on! read more

Wow. We came here right after Chriatmas and were very impressed with the selection and customer service. Bought an RC car. Came back after deciding to upgrade/repair an older version we had a home. Super helpful. One of the employees (assumed he was the manager?) diagnosed the issue to the speed control rather than the engine like I thought for no charge. Had an offer to buy it, so decided to look into selling and purchasing a current model. When that fell through, ran back to the store today (45 minute drive) to go ahead and purchase the speed control. This is where things changed. The young men at the counter did not know how to help (do we need adaptors, any additional mods, etc.) which is fine. We get that there is a lot of info, and an older model isnt the priority. Same employee who was going to sell me the speed control was in the shop, but when we came to a point where a few minutes conversation could have helped point us in the right direction, he was apparently too busy with something and blew us off with "maybe it will work, maybe not" through his less than helpful counter guy. For a site that supposedly does electric RC repairs, and for a project that shouldn't have been too complicated, really poor customer service. Will not be making the return trek. read more

Pretty impressive selection and decent customer service. I'm not an expert at all so I kind of felt a bit out of my element, as the staff seems to better assist people that are already "in the know" but they were still friendly. I am sure we will be back (I keep hoping they will carry some NASCAR themed cars). read more

I was greeted when I entered the store by a man with dark hair wearing a ball cap and glasses. He seemed friendly. On this particular trip to the store I was looking for a few different small screws. I found one size I needed and purchased them. Then I noticed more screws on the wall behind the cash register. I asked the man at the register if there were any very small screws back there and he responded, "don't know." Didn't bother to try to help at all. Just went back to his computer screen or whatever he was looking at. I guess he isn't interested in helping customers when they're making small purchases. read more

Well this store does have a large selection I will give it that how ever the lack of knowledge and or the willingness to care to try and find something makes their customer service the worst around. I went in looking for a few batteries got 1 of the 3 I needed and without looking anything up was told good luck on the other ones maybe eBay. Well rchobbies had one of the others I needed in stock and ordered the 3rd. Not to mention that rclanet also had them. I live in Parker and was happy when this store came to town but now will be going to rchobbies that is further but their people seem to truly care. read more

If I could give this company negative 5 stars, I would. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased a remote control airplane for my son for Christmas. On our first ever flight, the plane took off and crashed 2-3 seconds later and destroyed the entire plane. I called HobbyTown and was told that wasn't their problem, there's nothing they can do to help, and basically just "deal with it". They didn't even consider the fact that the plane may be malfunctioning or have a electronic problem. All they did was blow me off, without even offering to help understand the problem. What's if it's a manufacturing issue? What if it's an electrical issue? My son and I followed the directions TO A TEE. And for this company to blow me off without even giving consideration to the fact that maybe it wasn't a user error and maybe it's a manufacturing error? No offer to try and help make things right. NOTHING. I highly recommend you avoid this company at all costs. read more

This is the same staff from the Hobby Town that used to be over by University and Arapahoe. These guys are a heck of a lot friendlier than the staff at some other hobby stores I've been to *cough Colpar Hobbies cough* I used to drive from Parker to go to their old location, and now that they're only 10 minutes away off Jordan, we'll see how my wallet is going to be feeling in a few months. read more

Wow!! What a joke! Unfriendly is an understatement. This guy Jared hates his job. Went in to find a battery and it was a total hassle for him. Felt bad for asking for help. Another customer was there looking at quad copters and Jared was arguing about who would help him. Jared said "I don't know anything about them other than you can't get parts". Ended up leaving to get a battery elsewhere as I wouldn't give these clowns a penny of my money. Will never be back!! Buyer beware Jared is only there for his employee discount not customer service. Was looking at a boat and he says "can I help you? Counter is there for a reason" acting like I was going to steal something with my eight year old there. Would not have taken one step behind the counter to see the boat had he been willing to help me. read more

If you fly drones, helicopters, or airplanes these guys don't want your business! Went in today to buy batteries for my collective pitch helicopter. After finding out he only had two I told him I wanted to look around. After doing so I went back to the counter to buy my batteries and he called a guy up who was behind me and started helping him. No big deal, maybe he missed me standing there. However, I'd been in before and the guy with white hair was not helpful. Thought things might have changed, but no. I fly collective pitch helicopters and RC airplanes and asked if they were ever going to stock helicopters and drones. He said, "that's a really advanced hobby and we wouldn't sell them." Hmmm.... guess not to me. read more

I've been trying for 10 weeks to get them to order some chrome paint pens for me. I finally gave up and ordered them on the Internet from another source. They normally provide better service, but they are a little slow getting their vendors lined up. read more
