We haven't been to this place since it took over Legal Remedies...but we finally decided to check it out on a Friday night. Well, the place was packed! The entire place looked entirely different than how I remembered it (as Legal Remedies). Still very casual, but definitely more of an Irish pub vibe. I liked the Irish sports flags hanging from the ceilings...definitely added something fun to the ambiance. The menu has changed quite a bit too. I was bummed that they no longer had the Schnitzel, but they did have a tasty variety of items to choose from. My husband tried the Chicken Pot Pie, which looked good...and I had their Philly Cheesesteak. Well, I was surprised just how good my Cheesesteak was....beyond good, in fact. It was DEE-Lish!! I also enjoyed the drink, Monte Carlo. Small in size, but very, very strong! Service was good too. Despite how bustling it was, our cute waitress with green hair did a fine job. Tomato bisque soup is chunky and sweet-totally inedible. My daughter who lives off chicken fingers and fries couldn't eat them. The hostess sat us at a dirty table and when I asked for it to be cleaned she just looked at me and walked off. On top of all of that, the food was WAY overpriced, especially given the quality. Approximately 30 minutes ago, our entire group of 12 stopped in for dinner at this tavern. We were excited about this location due to the style of food available to us and the hope of a pleasant atmosphere. Upon entering, they said they did not have indoor seating to accommodate our large party and we could proceed outside. This was acceptable for us and we followed the hostess out and she placed menus on a table directly in the harsh sunlight and one side was completely soaked with water. We opted to move a few tables over to some that were in the shade and dry. The hostess came out and informed us we had to move and when we politely mentioned that the tables were in the sun, she deadpanned and said, "yeah, so the sun will move." and her reason for us not being able to sit at the tables in the shade was because "the tables are old and we don't serve at them" which doesn't make sense given that they're in the patio. The two girls were incredibly rude and clearly made a point that we were not welcome in the establishment as a large party. (10 adults and 2 children) One of our guests said we would go somewhere else then and the darker haired girl said that would be ideal and we were not welcome at the establishment. We promptly left. This is incredibly unacceptable. We did not feel welcome the moment we entered this establishment and the staff made it incredibly clear we weren't welcome. This is disheartening from a small business, especially one we were so excited to support. Hopefully other large parties have a better experience but the staff is not our favorite. Would've loved the chance to try the food. Unfortunate circumstance. read more

Solid place! Given it's a pub, the food was actually good, crispy fries and tasty burger! It's on the saltier side but still good! Server was kind to check in on us and fix the orders when requested! The flags hanging from the ceiling and the woodsy decor creates a homey pub ambiance. read more

Our first time here and we can't wait to come back! The atmosphere is very welcoming with seating inside and out on the pet friendly patio. Lots of awesome pub decor and the place was extremely clean. McKenzie was our waitress! She was super friendly and efficient. We started with some fried pickles and buffalo wings. Both items came out HOT, fresh, and crispy! They were soooo good! For our entrees, my husband ordered the fisherman's platter and I got the ruben sandwich with sweet potato fries. Again, both dishes were HOT, fresh and cooked to perfection. (Wad super excited to dig in and forgot to take a pic) It's so hard to find an amazing establishment to eat at with amazing food and service but look no further! Go here! This is the place that was formerly Legal Remedy Tavern. Their sign still indicates Legal Remedy but there is also a sign that indicates The Journeyman Tavern. Today, I called in an order of the Irish Stew 'to go'. The lady told me a single order was $17.44 with tax but could not tell me if it was a cup or a bowl or how many ounces it was. For $17.44 I wanted to get an idea of how much stew there was. I was driving about 30 minutes to get it. All she could tell me was 'it's a good bit'. I took a chance and drove there anyway. It was about the size of a bowl, I measures it and it came out to be about 10 ounces. Bottom line, it was GOOD! Nice thick broth with nice size chunks of beef with potatoes and carrots. They also included 2 tasty yeast roles which were delicious. I would def return for more as their menu is geared toward Irish food. read more

What a major disappointment for St Patrick's Day! We arrived at 4pm to the sounds of a guitar player, screaming Non Irish song lyrics. By 445 he was joking about the five shots of Jamison he had consumed. Read the room buddy, there were more people there to dine than drink. Turn it down at let everyone enjoy the evening. Playing to the drunks at the bar because they're buying you free drinks does not endure yourself so the rest of the restaurant And it went downhill from there. We enjoyed the break when he took one because we finally heard some traditional Irish music, on St. Patrick's Day. Now for the food. The shepherds pie was fair. Corned beef and cabbage was waterlogged and tasteless. What a major disappointment when we look forward to this one night a year. My wife and I recently moved into Rock Hill. We had been to the location when it was legal remedy a couple years. When we finally moved in, and we realized it was now an Irish pub, and the only one in the county, we had to check it out. I can only say great things about it. We went during the week and it was fairly busy, around Happy Hour. We ordered the nachos American style and the Reuben eggrolls. Both were amazing. The staff is very very friendly. We went back yesterday for their St. Patrick's Day festivities. It was very crowded, but we were able to get a seat at the bar after a couple minutes. And even though they were slammed, everyone was hustling and we got our drinks quickly. This will definitely be one of our main hangouts. Went to Journeyman for the first time, after seeing many recommendations. We loved it. Wife had the (huge) Reuben, I just finished the leftover, so good. I had a burger, great. Oh my gosh. We went there yesterday for the first time. I was expecting so-so food. NOT! It was really, really good. I had blackened salmon. Loved it. It came with the best sautéd asparagus I have ever had. And the spinach side was excellent. They are now on top of our restaurant list in Rock Hill. On a recent trip to SC to see our kids, we decided to go out for dinner one night, and Irish seemed to be the right choice. They told us about this place that had just switched over to an Irish theme, so off we went. Having just been to Ireland last fall, I can tell you they have some work to do to truly get the Irish feel, but they're off to a good start. We had the Irish pub nachos, which were very good. The Farmhouse salad and Kildare burgers were also very good. The French fries were awesome! And of course, the Guinness was perfect. I'll be happy to go back to this place the next time we're in town, to see if they're really growing some Irish roots here. read more

To call this place a pub is just plain false advertising! O'Charlie's had more ambiance than this place ever thought about having and that's saying something! The food is served in plastic baskets with a paper liner. Everything on the menu is greasy and holds about as much semblance to Irish pub food as spaghetti and meatballs! The selection of beers and liquors are, again, about as reminiscent of an Irish pub as bagels and lox! The service is slow and they act as if they are doing you a favor if they stop by your table at all. Not recommend! I give it 6 months on the outside. read more

Went here on a Thursday evening with the family. There was a good mix of folks there- business crowd, other young families, older couples. We sat outside since the weather was perfect. Our waitress stopped at our table right away and got our drink order and when she took our food order later she was knowledgeable about the menu items. We got lots of apps to split. Everything was amazing. I've been dreaming about the poutine fries since then. The place was clean and the music selection was great and not too loud you can't talk to people at your table. We were very confused when we arrived. We thought we were going to Legal Remedy but it's been a minute since we have been there. The sign still said Legal Remedy... and everything said Leval Remedy around the building but when you walk inside it says it is the Journeyman Tavern. I guess they changed it since December. Anyways, they still had Legal Remedy beers on tap and other beer choices. The staff was friendly and they had a spacious outdoor seating. I got the turkey wrap but I wish I ordered something else. My brother loved the wings and my husband enjoyed the strawberry salad. It was a nice lunch and we will probably go again in the future. The food was great, I was sad they ran out of shepherds pie so I will have to be back for that. The poutine fries were surprisingly tasty (I was skeptical of jam on fries) and I would definitely order again. My wife's Irish Stew was also great, it was full of flavor. My burger was a little plain and underwhelming, I didn't taste the curry sauce or cheese really but it wasn't an awful burger. The atmosphere was nice and they had some live music out on the patio which was nice as well. We will definitely be back and I am excited to get to try the shepherds pie next time. read more

My brother and sister-in-law lived in Ireland for seven years, and my parents have visited several times, so we were especially excited to experience an Irish pub right here in town. We arrived on a Friday night around 5 o'clock to celebrate a birthday. Looking around there were only five other tables that had customers. We waited for 20 minutes and no waitress ever came to our table to take a drink order. We observed three girls at the hostess table that were all busy on their cell phones. Plenty of people behind the bar that could have waited on us. Finally we asked the hostess what the problem was. No apologies. Said she had put us in the system. We waited a few more minutes and left. Ended up at Flipside which was wonderful. Good food and good service. With all the places in Rock Hill to eat Journeyman is going to have to step it up. Disappointed to say the least . I was very excited to have an Irish pub in Rock Hill but the food tasted like i had just bought a microwave meal. Ordered the Sheppard's pie and i can't emphasize this more, probably the worst mashed potatoes I've ever had... i don't think a drop of butter was used because it was so dry and flaky. We also ordered the nachos and those were better but barely had any meat on it so basically ate kettled chips with sauce on it. Wife tried the bangers and mash potatoes and again ruined by the awful mashed potatoes. I was very surprised they didn't have brown sauce since it's supposed to be an Irish pub and would have added some flavor to the food. Another knock was that they were out of smithwicks, one of two Irish beer they had available... Not sure if it was the cook that day but i would avoid any menu item with mashed potatoes.
