I emailed Chris about ordering jerseys and S30 visors for my beer league team at about Midnight on a wednesday. I got a call on Thursday from Chris to verify that is what I needed. He gave me a bulk cost and I told him I would send him my own FedEx label on my account. From what I saw on the website, it took 3-5 business days to get the jerseys made and ready for shipment. Chris said he could get them out with todays shipment! I got 14 jerseys and 5 visors all pretty good quality. If you are ordering jerseys make sure you catch him in the morning because he may be free enough to get it done for you. Overall, I had a great experience with ordering through the phone and they have great communication. Note: Never have visited their store. read more

The Hockey Tron storefront in Los Alamitos never had the greatest selection of gear, but it being just a few miles from home made it a perfect choice for picking up tape, pucks, laces, and other small items. I'm also quite fond of the company's cheap jerseys and socks. Plus, it offers competitive pricing on starter gear making it a good source for people just starting to play. Yet there was always something off about the place. Customer service was inconsistent depending on which employee was in store at the time. They never ran the air conditioner, even in the summer. The store layout was disorganized, and never felt completed. It always seemed like they were still moving in. Additionally, the owners never put up signage facing the main street. Not even a printed vinyl banner. Considering all of that, I don't know why I was surprised to see a sign on the door when I visited a month ago saying it had moved to a location in Norwalk. The new location leaves much to be desired. It's basically a showroom, and I use that term very loosely, thrown together in a corner of their warehouse and distribution center. The lighting is worse than office lighting. The displays are one step above a flea market in terms of visual appeal. And once again, no air conditioning. The customer service also took a big hit. On my visit, in saw two employees in the warehouse, one employee stocking the showroom, and another sharpening skates. None could be bothered to help me, and when I asked to have a product pulled from the back, they responded as if it were the biggest inconvenience they'd ever heard. Worst of all, one employee in the showroom wore a tanktop. Look, I know it was stupidly hot without air conditioning, but a tanktop showing off your pasty arms and sweaty pits is NEVER appropriate in a retail store. It's disgusting. So why did they close the Los Alamitos location and move to lovely Norwalk? Well, here's what they wrote on their Facebook page: We moved in to our warehouse location in Norwalk, CA. We have built a showroom where customers can look around at product and shop. The main reason why we closed our store is because we wanted all of our product in one location. Right. I'm sure inventory location is why they closed a visible storefront on a high traffic street in a relatively affluent neighborhood and moved into their warehouse tucked away in an industrial complex in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood where even people looking for it can barely find it. A more plausible reason is the owner got tried of paying rent for a storefront, and is moving to online sales exclusively. Just be honest. While I may still order their socks and jerseys, that will be the extent of my business with Hockey Tron. How sad. read more

HockeyTron is simply amazing! I found out about HockeyTron via Facebook. I noticed that every so often, they would post some really good deals on different equipment. Now, if you play hockey, you know the gear can be pretty pricey. At HockeyTron, they will do their best to give you the best price. Also, whatever price that is displayed online will also be honored in-store. Good to know! Daniel (or Danny?) was helping us on our visit. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up walking out with a bunch of new gear, and at a great price for all! HockeyTron is my new favorite hockey store. The actual store is quite spacious as it seems it occupy what used to be a a car dealership. The selection is very good, although not necessarily the best. There are clearly some brands and gear that they don't carry which you may find at the Hockeygiant or Hockeymonkey. However what makes Hockeytron so awesome is their Hockeytron branded gear. Priced super aggressively, their products so far have all been high quality and well made. I've personally used their MegaHz wheels, tape, jerseys and The S20 visor. All of the employees I've talked to have been very helpful and they certainly know hockey. When I was there last, I saw one of employees helping a family outfit three kids and saw them being very patient and accommodating. While I was walking around checking out all of their gear they asked me several times if I needed any assistance. Although I didn't need any help, I certainly appreciated the attention and will look to HockeyTron on my next gear purchase. read more

Let me start off by saying I'm the type of person that basically thinks Hockey Giant is basically the God of all hockey warehouses... I don't even think twice about going anywhere else when I need stuff. Hockey Monkey isn't even on the list because I never get anyone to help me when I walk in and that makes me mad. (Sad, I know, but I hate when no one asks if I need any help when I look like I obviously do.) As you can tell, I'm essentially a sucker for good customer service. And this is where Hockey Tron comes in to play. After my visit to Hockey Tron yesterday, I've definitely converted. The guys that helped me out were so nice and helpful, even though I literally tried on almost 5 different skates (but maybe they anticipated this because I'm a girl). They remembered us from earlier (came earlier in the day to buy wheels), did everything they could to get the skates I actually wanted (didn't have my size in the store, so they were ordering them from their supplier), and they were just super easy to talk to. It was even nicer that the guy would ask my budget and would warn me if I was trying on a skate that was way higher -- NEVER tried to pressure me into buying a more expensive pair of skates. I asked the guy helping us a gajillion random questions and he was super knowledgeable, which helped me out a ton. Hockey Tron is a less annoying drive compared to Hockey Giant, and they have good prices on the things that I checked out. These guys know their stuff. They are more than willing to help out.. And for a change.. they actually give helpful advice.. not just sell me something advice. The owner does an excellent job sharpening skates.. No purchase necessary.. and they dont charge you for sharpening. This is an 8.00 savings minimum!! Definitely try this place out. You wont be sad that you did. The Tron logo/label on some items in the store are the inhouse brand.. and the brand seems to be standing up fairly well. I've been playing since I was 8 and have quite literally been to most shops around the southern California area, even when the Penalty Box first got going. This place is by far the best place I've been to in the last 10 years. No pressure, helpful advice, no snobby-mom buys my equipment-employees. Chris, the owner is really nice and helpful. Also, I believe his name was Matt, was over the top helpful. I recently transferred over from roller and needed some ice gear. He spent over an hour fitting me for new equipment and explaining why some was better than others, he did not do the usual just buy the most expensive stuff routine. First, let me start by saying that the reason they moved from Los Al to Norwalk is because the place is Los Al was really expensive and they building owners kept increasing their rent and they wanted to keep the cost low for customers so they moved their show room to Norwalk because they already had the warehouse there. We went to the new store after finding out that the one if Los Al was closed. We walked into the office part by mistake and was greeted by the owner, who walked us back to the show room and made sure the guys took care of us. And also explained the reason why he moved to keep cost down for us, like I explained in my first statement. When my kid first started playing, we went down to hockey monkey and hockey giant to get his gear. We walked out of both places without buying a single thing because they was no customer service AT all. Luckily we've found Hockey Tron. I've been buying his gear from them ever since. Wouldn't go anywhere else. We got my son a new bag recently and it ripped, I called them and they told me to bring it in at my convenience and they would get us a new one no problem. When I went it they were true to their word and got us a new bag and I haven't had any problems with it since. Everything is top quality from them, even there own line of gear as well. Plus, they always give us 20 or 30% off ( I can't remember) our entire purchase every time we go in. Which is freaking super awesome. On Monday I ordered 11 pairs of pink laces for my son's hockey team to support breast cancer and the guys on the phone were awesome too. I called them because I used the wrong address by mistake and I needed to change it. There was an issue with my credit card billing and the guys on the phone fixed the problem and made sure my order was sent out Monday so I could get the laces on time. Again, the guys were true to their word. I received my order yesterday. The only reason I'm giving them 4 is because they aren't open on the weekends anymore. I live in Bakersfield, and when kid is in school the only time we can get out there is on the weekends. That is the only not positive comment I have to say about them. I've only ever visited their physical store once when i was on a trip to the OC with my wife. I was wanting to put a visor on my helmet and had heard about this store from a team mate. He liked their stuff and told me to check out the store for him so i decided i'd kill two birds with one stone. I was blown away...big store, good selection...although there are some items from specific brands that they might not carry...for instance they have ice pants but might not have rbk 7k ice pants..yadada? Place was definitely really nice. I didn't end up buying anything from the store that time...i think because i didnt try anything from them yet and wasn't sure about the quality of the tron branded merchandise, but the store was nice. ONE THING TO REMEMBER: if you have a big melon (I do), and are looking for a new helmet, the tron brand helmets go up to Medium at the moment, though they are looking into extended sizing to large as well. Just a heads up. I ended up buying the visor from them via online sales...and i was VERY pleased with the quality of it. It even fits on the easton stealth helmet i got (apparently there are lotsa complaints about fitting visors on the helmets...no problem here though). While there was nothing that stood out about their customer service, it certainly was not bad. THen... So they had coupon deal for 50% off warrior dolomite sticks. I was looking for a 70 flex right handed model, and they ahd it...so i bought it. Something about early morning orders after a night of heavy drinking had me making a purchase on the website but not having the coupon code applied. I called back when i realized, and the gentleman who answered the phone basically said "we'll apply that for you right away". Just to be safe i emailed 'em too, you know for records keeping. 24 hours later paypal let me know i had a refund coming in. OH YEAH. Hockey tron, thank you for your awesome customer service! Huge, good gear selection. It never seems really busy, and the dudes working there are friendly. Minuses are: They have a better selection of their own "Tron" brand equipment (naturally). I bought one of their sticks and it broke after about 4 months of use - it could have been a fluke, or maybe someone stepped on it with a skate. If you are interested in other stuff besides actual playing equipment - like hockey t-shirts, pro jerseys, you're better off going somewhere else. Anyway, I try to stop by if I'm in the area - btw, they aren't doing free sharpening any more, I guess too many folks were coming in just for the sharpening. read more

Terrible customer service. Terrible location. Terrible merchandise. Terribly terrible prices. Two years ago my team and I had placed an order for our league jerseys through Tron. After paying about $80 a sweater we finally got them in the mail and we were all VERY disappointed with the quality of the jerseys. Not only was the stupid Tron logo all over the jersey but they were freaking midriffs. Sleeves fit perfectly but the entire teams belly buttons were showing. I had to drive out to the store/factory/sweat shop/hobbit hole that was hidden behind a building to ask them to correct this madness. They looked at me like I was crazy for ordering my actual size and refused to fix this for free. I had to order another jersey. Since this was the first strike we let it slide and gave them our business anyway. Next size up was still too short, btw. Recently we had some new members join the team so naturally we call Tron up and ask them if they can make us 9 more jerseys from a customer file that already exists. Did they go ahead and help us? Of course not. They tell us some BS rule about ordering a minimum of 10 jerseys. Listen, Tron, from one business owner to another...when your crap is this cheap and your business is this low YOU TAKE WHATEVER YOU CAN GET. You won't fill our order and accept more of our money because we're missing one jersey? That is insane. Can I give no stars? I've been involved with in-line hockey off and on for the last 16+ years. In my time I've been to dozens of hockey shops, Tron is easily the best I've been to thus far. The selection is 2nd to none, not to mention the "TRON" line of gear which is a very competitive option at a lower price. Even better, if they don't have something in the store, you can always go online and have it will-called from their warehouse. Next, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. These aren't you're typical rink rats, these guys know how to provide customer service. Cant stress enough what a great hockey shot this is. Hope they are around for a long time to come! **Edit, I just called Hockey Tron today to see how much they would charge to Heat Fit my skates.. the answer "FREE". Most shops will do this for free if you've bought the skates from them ($20-$30 otherwise), but I was told that they do it for free regardless. Pros, Cons, then Summary PROS--Great prices. I have been using Hockey Tron for about a year now, and their own products, so far, have been just as good as the major brands. I can't speak to the actual store, as I've done all of my shopping online, but their service has been great. Fast too. Granted, I only live @100 miles away, but I have gotten my items within 2 days from the date I ordered. That is a huge plus because I've ordered from their competitors in the area (Monkey/Giant) and I've had to wait upwards of an entire week to get my stuff from them. CONs--The note for this store up top says it's closed, well, it should say that the store has moved. Hockey tron is still open for business online and has a physical location....somewhere else in the Orange County. A con is that Hockey Tron branded gear is for recreational play and beer league. If you play AA, AAA travel and above, stick with traditional hockey brands as the quality is a tad better. (I'm not going to get into the debate of Hockey Tron knocking off other brands designs, you figure it out) Will I go back? Yes, I play beer league now, so I was looking for some good equipment for cheap prices. If I need a cheap stick, I'll always come here. Echoing the recent sentiments about HockeyTron's new location in Norwalk. The warehouse is tucked away in a corner befitting a warehouse, not a storefront. No comparison between the current location and the old store in Cypress. Can't exactly say that their selection will blow you away either. If you're looking for the latest and greatest from Bauer, Easton, Warrior... you'll probably be left wanting. Whatever they have on their website is exactly what they have in the warehouse, for better or worse. All that said, if they happen to have exactly what you're looking for and it's in stock, you won't find a better deal elsewhere. HockeyTron has competitive pricing and often run percentage-based coupons that turn deals into steals. Sales get even sweeter if you live close enough to will call your order and pass on shipping costs. Customer service has been on point every time I've stopped by. I also have to give a big tip of my cap to them for the quality of jerseys. They're priced very fairly and feel much better than comparable Kamazu and CCM jerseys offered at other retailers. If you're looking for quality recreation league team jerseys at reasonable prices, look no further. It's a great place to shop if they have what you're looking for. I ordered a jersey for my son on Sunday for his game on Friday. I live 30 minutes away, knowing what I know now I would have drove but it was free shipping so why waste the gas. It is now Friday and my son will not have his jersey in time for his game tonight. Here's how it went down. Placed the order Sunday. Order arrives Tuesday in the wrong color. Call Tuesday advising tron of the mistake. Another jersey arrives the very next day, Wednesday. This time its the wrong size. I'm still not worried or upset because I still have 2 days before my sons game. I call tron Wednesday letting them know that the 2nd jersey is wrong as well. The gentleman on the phone says no problem we'll get another one out asap. According to the tracking # the jersey does not ship until the following day, Thursday. Mail come Friday and there is NOT a package from tron. Don't get me wrong, I love hockeytron but I'd have to guess if I have another experience similar to this they will be loosing a loyal customer. Seriously don't go here. There so many other hockey superstores in SoCal (Hockey Monkey/Hockey Giant). This place is disorganized as they come. They kept my receipt in a big bin and when they went looking for it they could not find it. They made the jerseys wrong 3 times so I kept going there for nothing. while I was there, others came into the store returning mismatched skates, and broken items Additionally, I called before I left my house and made sure they were ready. I was told they were ready when there were not even worked on. The other small items I ordered were all incorrect as well. I have been there 4 times for simple items because they messed up. I will not be going back. It's only 2 miles away from me but I'd rather drive 20 mins to get to a place that wont cause me so much frustration When they apologized for messing up my order 3x, they offered me 20% of my $10 socks. Got a LOT of stuff from them online, with a $99 gets free shipping. Also had an order code for 30% off. Added a ton of stuff to cart, added the code, and lo and behold, I still get free shipping, even though it dropped the price below $99. I pay, get a confirmation, then a call the next day from some automaton named Ben. "I see your order didn't qualify for free shipping, so please pay more". I told him I wasn't willing to pay more for an already paid order, and he said "ok,we will cancel it". Really, HockeyTron? Do you have so many customers that you won't honor what your own website charges? Also, my total was $89 something, so it's not as if I was really taking them. These guys are irresponsible and dishonest. First, I ordered a specific stick with a specific curve. They send me a different model with an entirely different curve. When I contacted them, they said I could ship it back if I did not like it. Next, I ordered jerseys for my team. They took forever to send them. They screwed up that order by sending the wrong size for my goalie. When I asked them to replace it, they sent it along with two others that I ordered, however they took two months and then charged me triple the original price without asking me. THEY JUST HELPED THEMSELVES TO MY CARD AND CHARGED A PRICE THEY NEVER RECEIVED AUTHORIZATION TO DO. They also screwed that up because the jerseys were sent with white numbers instead of black. My team looks like the jerseys were thrown together, when they were all ordered from the same place at the same time. I contacted the owner? Chris, who blew me off and did not reply to my e-mails. I disputed the charge with my credit card and Hockeytron actually fought it. These guys are not reputable, if not dishonest, and their product is inferior. read more

The bags are poorly made, our orders have been messed up (received a water bottle with a Walmart price sticker on it), their website is terrible for customer resolution, and their phone number doesn't have any information. If there's one thing that the greater Los Angeles area is running short on, it's hockey stores. And while this one may be a hike, about 45-ish minutes without traffic from where I live in NoHo, it's the best thing I could have asked for in terms of hockey supplies. It's a superstore - that much is evident from its size and stock. Whatever you could possible need to play, they've probably got it. They also have their own line of hockey equipment - TRON brand - which, while significantly less expensive, measures up very nicely with some of the more streamline brands that they also carry. They even sell roller hockey pucks for about half the price you'd pay at any Sports Authority or Play It Again. They've also got a huge selection of tapes, tools, and other small necessities. Their wheels are pretty solid too, and way cheaper than their competitors'. My girlfriend recently participated in a Los Angeles Kings sponsored ice hockey training program for women, and HockeyTron hosted the fitting and supplied all of the equipment. So I got to help her try things on and get a real feel for the quality of gear that HockeyTron produces. And I've gotta say, even on the cheaper end of things, the equipment is really nice. Helmets, pants, shin guards, elbow pads, everything is sturdy and durable. Even the skates, which they admitted were of lesser quality comparatively, weren't insubstantial. I was especially impressed with the TRON chest protector and shoulder pads. They provide a huge amount of support and protection, and allow for an incredible amount of dexterity. The composite sticks, on the low end, average around $30-40 which is great, and they offer a few different curves. Not shabby equipment at all. Even if you're a purist and prefer the old school lumber, they've got $20 Christian brand wooden sticks that aren't bad. The staff here are all really cool too. Even despite the insanity of having to fit almost thirty women for equipment in one afternoon, they still managed to accommodate my own needs and screen print a name and number onto the back of a jersey for me. Now that's service. Before I left, I signed up for their e-mail list, and they e-mail me ridiculous deals every day. I wish I lived closer so I could take more advantage of them, but I'll definitely be visiting this place more often in the coming months as my own hockey supply dwindles to bare threads and shards of fiberglass. read more

I have been on a pretty long quest for finding some ice pants that fit me and it ended here. They have everything. Really easy to find also. The building is pretty huge and open and the selection is excellent. They also have gear at every price point so you can shop in your price range. I recently ordered 2 items from HockeyTron.Com. I ordered the Tron Elite Senior Hockey gloves, size 14", and the Tron 100k Senior Composite Hockey stick, righty, Dvorak blade, 85 flex. The items arrived within a week, so that was taken into account in giving them 3 stars. First, the gloves. The gloves felt good, and for the price ($59.99-30%off), it's not a bad deal. They appear well assembled as far as materials and workmanship, protective in the right places, and accurate as far as size. I'll comment back IF I find that they are subpar as far as durability. This also accounts for the 3 star rating. Second, and the big reason for not getting more than 3 stars, is that 1) I was sent the wrong hockey stick flex AND 2) they did not respond when I inquired about the wrong hockey stick flex. I originally ordered an 85 flex stick. A rep from Hockeytron called me within 2 days to inform me that they were out of the 85 flex stick until the end of the year, so asked if I'd be ok with trying a 75 flex or 95 flex stick. I opted for the 75 flex. When I received the stick, I noticed it read "Dvorak - 95." I sent an e-mail asking about this, and never received a response. So, they failed to properly fulfill my order (despite my consent to receive something that I did not originally order) and were not responsive when I asked about the order. I tried the 95 flex stick and it feels extremely stiff. It has a matte finish, but does not possess a good "grip" feeling. Like most pieces of sports equipment, especially hockey, it is a personal preference. If I have to stay with the 95 flex stick, it will be a back up to a back up hockey stick. Perhaps the 75 flex or 85 flex would suit me better, but I do not plan to order any more sticks and perhaps any other piece of equipment from HockeyTron based on my experience with the wrong order and nonresponsiveness. ______________________________________ I received a response from HockeyTron within 10 minutes after I posted the review above. I believe a second e-mail that I sent to HockeyTron motivated the response, not the review above. Anyway, a rep offered to exchange the item if I had not used it yet. Don't do business with Hockeytron. They screwed up the color of the numbers for my jersey, won't do anything about it. Also the jersey sizes are 700% larger than a normal hockey jersey, and won't allow sizing information to be accessed on a mobile phone read more

I am very disappointed in this store. Their service is horrible. I ordered a stick online and after placing my order I had made a mistake so i called the next day to get the mistake fixed. They helped me fix my mistake but i decoded to place another order while i was on the phone with them. I asked them to add another hockey stick to my order and they said it wouldn't be a problem so they did. I was excited because their price was so great i thought i had finally found an inexpensive store to buy sticks from which they are inexpensive dont get me wrong but the service from what happened after made me decide i will never shop with them again. I received my stick 2 weeks later from when i was originally supposed to receive it but i said no big deal. Stuff like this happens. I did not how ever receive the second stick. When i called to see what had happened they apologized but they couldnt not find an order for it so i placed my order a second time. A week passes i still dont get my stick. I call back and they dont know what going on with my order so they say theyll call me back. So i tell them to cancel my order because i got tired of waiting and they supposably did. The next day i can a tracking number saying my order has been shipped and my card has been charged so i said fine whatever even though i had cancelled it the stick was a good price so i said thats fine at least its shipping now. I receive the stick and turns on the stick is damaged and has a crack. When i call them back to ask them to send me a shippin lable so they can replace the crack stick they had send me. "note the stick looks like a manufacture defect and they were trying to blame the shipping company." they say theyll get back to me because they have to get it approved by someone. Another week passes no one calls me back so i call them. They apologized again and said they would call me back in a couple of hours as soon as they figure out whats going to happen. At this point i was sick of the waiting. The guy eventually calls me back to tell me that i had to PAY to ship the stick back to them to get it replaced. After arguing and him saying we cant do anything i hung up and just decided that it was going to go no were because i was dealing with idiots. I still have the cracked stick sitting around and i had payed a 130 dollars for it. Obviously they dont check the sticks before they Ship them out so be WARNED. If you end up with a damaged stick youll have to pay to send it back to them so they can replace it for you. Also they will try to blame the shipping company when there is no way it could of been from the shipping company because the damage was on the inside shaft of the stick where the blade and the shaft are fused. The box was not damaged when i received it so the shipping company is not to blame. I will never order from them again i rather pay the extra money and order from Total Hockey then have to deal with this mediocre company. read more

I have been going to Hockey Giant and Hockey monkey for the past 5 years or so and love both of them...but Hockey Tron is BETTER!! Better prices, better service, staff is more friendly and helpful.
