We attended the Barberton Mum Festival yesterday, and as we were walking around looking at all the vendors, we noticed the great smell of hamburgers. We didn't plan on eating at the festival but the smell was amazing so we just had to try one. WOW, it was truly the best hamburger I've ever eaten. The burger was large, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Please try their food. You will be pleasantly surprised. It doesnt look like much from the outside, but there is literally nothing on the menu I don't like. And they really DO have THE BEST BURGERS in the area. Believe me I've eaten my share all over Akron, Canton, etc. And the wings...The Best also, but they are the crunchy breaded kind which I find refreshing from the sauce slathered fleshy wings most other places serve. We have family in Barberton and we pass this place all the time. Never stopped there once to ever eat until today for lunch. This place lived up to the hype. The smallest places continue to wow me like this place did with their hot and delicious food. The burgers are amazing and juicy and hot. Burnt my tongue tasting my wife's but so worth it. Pros: + Homemade French Fries/Food + Friendly Staff Cons: - Prices are ridiculously high ----- This is also not reflected on their website - Platters are not shown on their site, which is about an additional $3.50. You'll be spending roughly $15 for a burger, fries, and one side - not including a drink) - The food is bland ----- Fries are not salted or seasoned ----- Bun was burnt and dry ----- Meat was dry in the center and overcooked on the outside - Water is literally from the sink, you can taste it - Smelled like dirty diaper inside, makes the environment extremely unsettling Well, that's my honest review. I had an appetite for homemade fries, found them online. Checked their menu and expected to pay about $8 + Tip for a Burger Platter (1 Burger + Fries + 1 Side). Once you get inside and see the menu, you notice that the Platter costs are actually not listed on their website, and are $3-4+ more expensive. They trick you into coming by listing only the base price for the burger, with no indication that it isn't the platter (because it tells you "The platter comes with x, y, and z", but gives no indication that the platter is anything but what is listed on their online menu. Lo and behold, you have now arrived and can't leave to avoid being rude. To summarize: Nasty, overpriced, bland food You'd be better off just going to Subway or McDonalds for fake food. This review was posted on their Facebook for about two weeks, and rather than fixing their online menu, they made a Facebook status about people leaving anonymous reviews. Had a burger, hotdog, and fries. It was okay but I could have made better in my kitchen with minimal effort. Service was lackluster. If you live nearby, its good enough for eating and meeting people. I wouldn't drive 10 minutes out of my way for this though. read more

We have eaten here many times, and the fresh ground 1/2 pound burgers are the best around. Hostess is wonderful, and very friendly. Service is great, atmosphere is wonderful. Definitely recommend this cafe to any and all burger lovers. read more

Our group shows up from out of town because of the positive reviews. We showed up an hour before they close and the waitress took awhile to come to our table. Finally, dropped off menus and didn't come back for another 7 minutes and then took part of one couple's order and the only thing she said was, "we close at 3". FYI...Yelp had them closing at 6. I can't believe that a small town joint, that raves about their burgers being the best in town, would not want our business. Horrible service that didn't even say anything when we all got up and left. Very disappointed. read more

The last 2 times I have been here there has been a problem with the food. The burger smelled and tasted odd. I was sitting in the both at the end near the kitchen. I got up and a walked over to see what the meat looked liked on the grill. There was a patty pushed to the back of the grill and looked white...possible sign of freezer burn. While observing the cook I saw him take tongs and pull a burger out of a pot of liquid that was sitting on the stove top next to the grill and then placing it on the grill. Looks like they are changing things up a bit. I sent the first burger back and the second was not much better. I have a stomach ache and can honestly say it is because I ingested that horrible food. The burgers I was served tonight is not something I would say was the world's best burger. read more

This establishment has been here on Wooster Rd W for many, many years. We just started coming there in the past year. The hamburgers are outstanding! Perfectly prepared to my liking (when I ask for med. well, it is done exactly how I like it. Every time). These burgers are huge, and hubby and I split one. The french fries, I always ask for them to be prepared 'extra crispy'. And they come to the table perfect! My husband had their special last night, Johnny Marzetti. A big bowl (I'd say about 3 cups) of a mixture of macaroni, ground beef, tomato. He reported it as delicious and filling. The place isn't anything fancy, but the service has been cook, and the cooks do a fantastic job. The burger meat is definitely FRESH! Hodges has the best burgers I have ever eaten, and the fresh cut fries are heaven. The bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen in any public place, and the service is fast and friendly.
