I purchased an Int'l Shore Power Pedestal specifically for a 50amp charging station and bought it because it said delivery would be Tuesday Jan 28th. Well one day after buying it I get a note saying it was not coming Thursday which wasn't the originally shown date. When the pedestal arrives it has 1 x 30 amp plug, 1 x 50 amp plug but it has 3 x 30 amp breakers. Clearly you cannot run a 50 amp plug with a 30 amp breaker. Overall experience is just fine. Customer service personnel needs to work on their people skills. Mary (the old lady working there) is rude and likes to hang up on you for no reason because she doesn't like to deal with issues brought up by the customers and claims to be abused for questioning about the order ‍ Their return/exchange approval is slow. If you want something done faster call them often and check on your order yourself to get things going. They lack quality control before sending out items to the customers. My wind instrument came defective and with missing parts. Do not delay opening your parcels and take pictures and/or video of the things you receive. Customer service is a waste of time. I wish I didn't spend my time trying to talk to them. They sent two identical gauges in a package order. All I wanted was to swap the duplicate for the correct gauge. Instead of refusing and allowing me to make other plans, they played grab a$$ with me for weeks, trying to claim I needed to contact to manufacturer, which I did, to no avail. Tried to buy wire from Hodges. FedEx was unable to deliver, so I had to cancel the order. Hodges can't refund my money until they sort it out with FedEx, but FedEx isn't doing anything to help. I guess I won't be doing business with Hodges anymore. They fired me as a customer and I really don't know why. I can only guess. I have made half a dozen or so orders over the past year couple of years. Only one order did I ever have a problem with. I had ordered a sonar transducer about a year ago. The website said that it included a speed sensor. When my order came I did not get the speed sensor. I called and complained and they said that the website was in error and that it was not supposed to include the speed sensor. I said well how about you make that right to me and refund me the cost of the speed sensor sold separately or send me the speed sensor that I was supposed to get? They said they would refund me the cost of the speed sensor sold separately which was $25. I thought that was pretty good of them and I didn't have a another complaint ever. I did not blast them on social media. I did not post a bunch of negative reviews anywhere. I went on with life. Fast forward to this past Monday, July 6. My washdown pump on my boat went out so I immediately ordered one from Hodges. I got an order confirmation in my email and I thought all was well. This morning, I was thinking it was weird that I hadn't gotten a tracking number notification from them yet so I logged into my account. It said my order had been canceled. That was weird because I know I have not canceled the order nor have I received a phone call or email from them saying they were some kind of a problem. I gave them a call and they told me after being on hold for a minute or two that they don't wanna do business with me... ever again. The rep could not tell me why. He just said that they were not for filling any orders for me ever again. Is it really about this speed sensor from over a year ago? I can't believe that if that's the reason but it's the only thing I can think of. Seems pretty petty to me. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I bought 4 different products online from abroad and had them delivered to Orlando. However, 1 product is completely unusable. The Navionics vision + map card has 3 different labels on the box. Hodges Marine does not know which region it belongs to. After all, I inserted the card into the device and, funny fact, the SD card is empty. They were interested from the beginning, but then they cut off communication. This is not the right approach at all, this is literally fraud. Do not sell a product that you do not know what is in it. If you are selling it, provide service behind the product. Had an issue with a return six years ago. I ordered a wind cup anemometer that was cracked. Something that should have been easily caught when packed for shipping. I tried to install it anyway and it fell into the water. I had a photo I sent and explained the situation. They refused to refund or resend until I wrote a review of their business practices. With the COVID issues many online retailers have been advertising item as in stock only to charge your card and then get a back order notice. Hodges Marine is the best! Friday we found our hot water heater had gone out. Around noon Tom researched and found the best price for its replacement was Hodges Marine, as we have found other times! He called their office in Oldsmar to see if it was in stock there so he could pick it up. It wasn't, so he ordered it expecting it around Monday. Before noon Saturday it was delivered! I bought a Jabsco Electric Lite Flush toilet from Hodges advertised as "a true retrofit" for the Jabsco manual toilet which I had in my boat. Well it wasn't. It is nearly there inches deeper and thus did not come close to fitting. Hodges refuses to pay return shipping. I ordered a wiper motor from Hodges. It was delivered very quickly however the motor only lasted 1 week and completely burned out. I called Hodges and they simply gave me the number for Marinco and told me to deal with them. After much deliberation, Marinco reluctantly replaced the unit but said they would not warranty the replacement because they said I used it in the wrong application (I replaced exactly what the boat builder initially used). They told me to use a different model. I asked Hodges to exchange the unit for the model Marinco recommended and I would pay any difference. Their response was to "sell it on-line and purchase the correct model". I'm not angry as I fully anticipated this result. It's just disappointing to find that in a time of need, Hodges customer service falls far short of the norm. read more
