I came in for lunch with wife son and daughter in law. I ordered sashimi lunch special (10 peices for $9.99) and asked for a spicy scallop hand roll but I requested no rice (not on the menu). The waitress was politely perplexed and said I don't know if they can do that. I explained to tell the sushi chef to get creative and see what he comes up with but I can't do carbs as I am diabetic. She smiled and said yes and speculated what he would substitute for the rice. I really wasn't sure what to expect with delivery sushi, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food arrived in less than an hour, which I was not expecting as most reviews mentioned a long wait for delivery. The sushi definitely lost some freshness in the car ride over, but it was still delicious. The noodles were decent, what you would typically expect from our local Asian restaurants. Honestly was surprised this had great reviews, maybe we just came on a bad day. Decided to give this place a shot - first off our server was an absolute gem of a sweetheart but I got the sense it was her first day. Despite there being no other customers there, our service was very slow, and she forgot to bring us pretty much everything (chopsticks, napkins, 2 of our drinks) until after our food was brought out. We ordered 3 sushi rolls and only one of them was the correct one (which was a big bummer because I was super excited about one of them in particular!) On top of that, I found 2 fruit flies in my soy sauce cup, and a spec of something brown in one of my ice cubes. My boyfriend found a small bit of fuzz on the salmon in one of the sushi rolls. All in all, not very impressed and I probably won't be back, but they have good reviews for the most part so I expect we caught them on an off day. read more

At first site all reviews generally hold true to this 8 table and sushi bar restaurant. They have TV available which is playing food network. The beverages are served in the plastic coca-cola cups so don't expect anything too fancy. Id say they shiuld be a bit less in price but the availability in the area and parking is very convenient. My usual spot is NU Asian Bistro for sushi but I wanted to try something new and closer to home. Great for a date or family of up to 6! Kids wont have a problem talking with the noise level being at a medium. They offer less sodium soy sauce. The delivery driver was very courteous and prompt . The California Rolls were very warm due to being inside the box with the chicken and vegetables and the chicken was very rubbery and dry . The tempura was not crisp at all due to the steam in the box. I wouldn't recommend these things delivered but eaten fresh cooked at the restaurant . I am an avid sushi lover, always going to places to eat sushi. I have gone to this establishment multiple times and normally never have had an issue with the staff or the food that I order. Today, however, I'm sad to say that it was a disappointment. My boyfriend and i walked in only to be greeted by a hostess who looked at us like we ruined her day. She told us to sit anywhere and when we did, she flung our menus down And walked away. After sitting there for awhile our waitress came and gave us our menus. After we ordered, our waitress never came to check in on us, and I ordered the marine roll and was dying... its a spicy roll and i needed water. Everyone on staff just seemed like today was a bother to them. I'm not sure if i will be returning. 4/5 times this place would be great, the food has been good everytime I went and I've had no complaints up until the last time I went. From the first step i took in the restauraunt the hostess was rude, she just threw the menu on our table with no care and as for the waitress she was nice, but didn't come back to check on us to make sure we were doing okay so we had to ask for boxes when were were ready to go and pack up our food. I would have understood if it was a packed evening or something of the sort but, there was only 1 other table than my own. This is easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in Jacksonville. Their sushi quality is just as good, if not better than Sake's. Their cooked dishes are fantastic and have much more variety than standard "hibachi" fare. They have bubble tea in a variety of flavors AND they deliver! My only complaints come in with the staff and with trying to feed hungry kids. The staff is a bit aloof and can take a while to take orders, get refills, pack up food, and get your check. On more than one occasion we've had to change our dine-in order to a to-go order because our kids grew impatient at the table waiting for sushi. This is at no fault of the staff; you can't rush the sushi. The staff is always great about packing orders up so we can take them out the door, so kudos for that. They do have delivery, which is great for when I'm not in the mood to cook, however, be prepared for a long wait time with that delivery order! Sometimes it takes up to an hour to receive the food! Aside from that, they do have some pretty delicious Japanese food. I'm a fan of their chicken curry, gyoza, and bubble tea! The curry is a huge portion (for me) so there is plenty for leftovers the next day. They also have some pretty great sushi! Love their spicy tuna tempura rolls!
