Fast, friendly service. Outstanding fresh salmon perfectly prepared . We relaxed on the picnic tables in front of the truck and happily enjoyed our meal.

Came on a Tuesday at 1pm for lunch. Mom and Pop food truck. Wasn't too busy as there were only two other families present. Ordered the Kalbi Ribs, Lemon Caper Mahi, and Kalua Quesadilla. Food took a bit to come out, but the wait wasn't too bad. Finding seating within the area was not easy as there was only one picnic table and a few chairs for the other folding tables. We were not disappointed when the food came out. Food was absolutely delicious! Wouldn't hesitate to come again!

You need to stop here if you're in Waimea! This little food truck whips up delicous authentic Hawaiian dishes super fast and super well! You wouldn't think it's much but he look of the truck, and it's easy to miss. But if you're lucky enough to catch it, you must go! The cook running the truck (I'm assume he was the owner) is an amazingly nice guy who knew exactly what he was talking about. He was super informative and took the time to quick give me a run down of what each dish was presented on the daily menu. I chose the gandule (Puerto Rican rice with pigeon peas) with grilled chicken bowl. Didn't have to wait very long either. The bowl was the perfect temperature. Chicken was grilled was perfection! It tasted so good combined with the rice which was very well seasoned! It tasted exactly like the gandules con arroz you get at a hawker center in Puerto Rico. Not only delicous, but authentic as well! Side note: I was told that homemade gandule is actually very rare to come by in Hawaii unless you're lucky enough to catch selling it on the side of the road. I guess it was my lucky day! I would happily return to Hoku's next time I'm in Maui!

Amazing authentic Asian Hawaiian food! It took some looking to find it. They are directly across the street from the Waimea Baptist Church. Their motto is come hungry, leave sleepy, and they were right! My husband and I SPLIT this dish, and we could barely eat the rest of the day! This was kalbi, crispy roast pork, kimchi, potato salad and noodles. We were on the island for 8 days, and this was one of our top 3 dining experiences. We took an easy walk down the street to Jojo's Shave Ice which was the best shave ice!!!

Got the Mahi with lemon caper sauce and it was very good! The fish tasted fresh and was cooked very well. I really enjoyed it!

You gotta stop by Hoku's! My wife and I were driving up to da beach (Kekaha) for the day and stopped along the Kaumualii Highway for lunch. Hoku's has plate lunch options but our eyes were focused on the kalua pork quesadilla. It has HUGEEE and thankfully we were sharing it. Grabbed some lilikoi passion juice to wash it down. It was honestly one of the best quesadillas I have ever had, mainland and beyond. Bring your appetite and enjoy Hoku's!

LOVE LOVE LOVE eating here!!! I can rave all day and all night about their food! My favorite is Gandule Rice, Kalbi and Pork Belly! I have also tried their chicken plate and chicken adobo and with no surprise it was delicious! The portions are big, the meats are cooked fresh, the wait time is minimum, the prices are great and the food is nothing but delicious. It's so awesome to have a convenient place to grab a good plate lunch in Waimea. The owner is very friendly and definitely puts hard work into his Buisness, the taste of the food is AMAZING. If your in Waimea I highly recommend trying this place out!!

Stopped by after a hike at Waimea Canyon. Hoku's Definitely exceeded expectations! Food was amazing and fresh. Great price for the plates. For $12 I received two heaping scoops of rice, Kim chee, Korean potato salad (so good), and BBQ Korean Chicken. My family all enjoyed their meals as well! I would recommend anyone to stop by this food truck after their visit to the canyon. Hoku's was a tasty highlight from my trip to the south shore!

Looks like they are only open twice a week at the moment. Do they expand their hours in the summer to more days?

Me and my friend split the mahi katsu and the Kekkahot chicken, and both were excellent. The mahi was cooked perfectly, with a light crispy batter that let the fish stay juicy and tender topped with their furikake blend and sauce it's a perfect plate lunch food. The Kekkahot chicken was just as impressive. If you've had Zippy's Korean Chicken, imagine that but better. The chicken was incredibly moist, the breading stayed crunchy, and the savory sauce coated everything without making it soggy. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star visit was the mac salad. It was a little bland for my taste, not bad by any means, just average compared to how good everything else was. That being said, I'd definitely come back especially for that mahi katsu.

I was super excited to see that they had a loco moco on their menu. There was rice, a hamburger patty, egg, and tons of gravy. Everything was flavorful and the meat was tender. This dish is pretty heavy on the rice. There are a couple tables outside and the parking was all street parking. They have lots of different options and mini plates, which was perfect for me. I would stop by here again if I were in the area. The staff was friendly here.
