We tried this place because we wanted chicken and were semi hungry, too tired to drive with kids so we decided to order via door dash for a late night snack. The order was easy online. The door dash driver waited a bit for it but overall, it was quick to receive the food after ordering. We got the Holdaak original chicken sandwich and popcorn chicken. The sandwich comes with a daikon slaw which added a nice flavor profile to the sandwich of something tangy mixed with pickled onions. Definitely a nice refreshing taste with each bite. The ketchup also had great flavors to it as well, with a hint of spice, which gave it a nice subtle kick. Pairs perfectly with the crispy chicken. The popcorn chicken wasn't as seasoned as I would like it but had a nice crispy texture to it and was fresh. Kids approved and like the crispiness of it. Overall a good late night meal and everything arrived still hot & crispy, which was nice. We'll definitely come through to check out the restaurant in person & try their other items. My girlfriend and I came by one day since we were craving some fried chicken. We got the OG Chicken Strips, Caramel Soy Chicken Strips, and Cajun Fries as a part of a pack deal. I really wanted to like this spot as I want to support small businesses but it didn't hit as much as I wanted it to. The chicken was dry and the breading didn't have much crunch considering its supposed to be korean style chicken tenders. The fries were okay and you could tell they were either selling frozen french fries or they were stale. The sauces were okay. But ... me and my Wife both have decided that we don't need to go to Canes anymore lol It's a small little spot with a good amount of seating and fun pun filled quotes and lighting. The chairs are really comfortable lol The service was amazing, I honestly have to give props to Cat and Karim.. I made sure to get their names because it was only them two on staff and they were backed up and getting it all done in a timely manner. Karim made sure to let those who came up know what they were out of so they were not disappointed with ordering it then not being able to get it. Th food came out crispy and delicious and where you would typically have accidents with just two on staff on a busy night these two held their own and took care of everyone the best they could. Seriously cheers to the both of you we see you and see how hard your working. The food... the chicken was crispy, the chicken was juicy, the sauces were perfect , fries on point, and honestly WE CANT WAIT TO GO BACK . I love wings and I'm a loyalists but o a place called fire wings but ... I feel like Holdaak will challenge them pretty good. You fulfilled my every craving we had that night . I was willing to give them another try since my first order with them some months ago lacked the daikon which makes a lot of difference. This time I ordered 10 wings and chicken sandwich. The sandwich is mediocre but when you put the daikon, then it's really tasty. I also ordered 10 pcs chicken wings. For me the soy caramel is too salty than what I'm used to but when I bit into 2 wings it was all bloody. I couldn't eat the rest after smelling the bloody wings! Another lesson learned. I visited today to place an order and was told it would take longer because they had many orders. I said that was completely fine and waited patiently. While waiting, my daughter called and suggested not to get the Holdaak spicy chicken. Since I was told it would take time, I politely asked if I could change the order. The staff said no because it was "almost done." When I took the food home, my kids (who were fasting) didn't like it, mainly because of the daikon slaw. I returned and politely asked if they could adjust it -- I even offered to pay extra. Unfortunately, I was told no again, and the attitude was very dismissive. I tried the double pattie smash burger and it was wayy better than expected . I've had good HALAL smash burgers (Sign Smash Burger in Orange, CA is a very good example) and this was certainly amongst the top 3 for the SoCal locality. I could tell these guys focused on the quality of the beef. The only small thing I could improve would be to pre-season the fries (they give you plain fries and a small container of dry seasoning to DIY). Will definitely be visiting again. The people that work here are all super friendly and kind, and you can tell that they truly care about the individuals coming into the restaurant. The bathroom is also sanitary, always a plus.
