This is one of the best places to eat in Corona. I'm pretty sensitive to flavor enhancers and additives that some restaurants use to enhance taste and increase their profit margins. Whenever I eat at Ono Hawaiian, I can often taste those additives, and they don't make me feel well. But I don't experience that at this restaurant. The food tastes clean, natural, and honestly prepared, which I really appreciate. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. In my experience, this restaurant feels honest and genuine, and I truly hope they continue to do well. I also hope they can maintain their food quality and consistency without compromising their ingredients simply to increase profits. My husband and I picked up lunch here yesterday and I wanted to update my previous review and say that their food is still delicious and the portions are still generous. My husband had the combo chicken and I stuck with the kalua pork and we enjoyed lunch and had plenty left for dinner. I also got the spam musubi and the crab Rangoon, both excellent. First time coming to this location. Indoor dining area was very clean and we were greeted by a friendly staff member. I proceeded to order the adult size pineapple chicken, which came with a side of macaroni, salad and white rice. This dish was delicious. My husband got there smaller portion in a local moco and it came with one beef, patty, and fried egg with gravy over rice. This dish was under par. The gravy wasn't as flavorful and the patty you can tell was not freshly made. Anyways will be back here soon to try other items on the menu. read more

Sorry hate this but the food not special at all . The chicken katsu was dry not and chicken was paper thin. Really didn't want to eat but also didn't want to waste food. The rice was dry and slaw were salty along with over peppered mac salad. Would have to recommend Ono Hawaiian bbq. Customer service was excellent however. read more

The food was not bad, it was just not particularly good. I got the loco moco and triple meat plate. The eggs and patties on the loco were both overcooked and totally bland. The meat platter was fine, they only include 1 slice of beef which is so thin it's nearly jerky. The rib and chicken were good as was the mac. I might go back to try the wings or pork but the loco was so bad it makes me not want to bother. I'd give 2.5/5 since you can't give halves. My review is solely on the family meal. We have ordered a similar family meal from other Hawian BBQs and Aloha's is by far the best. The portions are huge! The food is okay at best - the portions seem to get smaller with every visit. The service is great depending on who they have hired at the time (it's a rotating roster). The place is self feels run down and is always empty except for the flies that keep you company. Charging $6+ for spam musubi and NO sauce with your order is down right criminal. That's where I draw the line. We all know that sauce is not worth more than a couple cents to produce, charging your customers for it is crazy! Delicious! I ordered the Pineapple Chicken bowl ($9) and a small Macaroni Salad (almost $4) and the portions are very generous! The chicken is more like the Crispy Honey Chicken (from PF Changs) or like Orange Chicken (from Panda Express) - batter/fried than just marinated chicken. Still delicious and has some crunch! Just wish they had more pineapple chunks in the serving. The bowl comes over white rice and so I elected to order a small side of mac salad. Best $4 youll ever spend! Super creamy and not vinegar-y like some other places make. My lunch bowl, mac salad and medium drink came to $15 and some change! Would recommend and will be back to try other entrees! read more

I've ordered here countless times due to being a local in the area. However, the last few times hasn't been all that great. I usually order the bbq chicken plate and share it with my kids. The last time the chicken was semi burnt and dried out, like it was just on the grill for a little bit too long. Then the previous time before that the chicken was extremely chewy to the point I couldn't give it to my toddler. Choking hazard. I am saddened because I use to love this place. We've been coming here for year. We like the spam wasubi and chicken katsu. The katsu portion shrank a bit as the container nowadays are smaller. We see this everywhere as we go through an inflation depression. Aside from that the food is good. Glad the person that used to take our order is no longer there. That person had no personality. I am all for supporting small businesses, but when it comes to selling a plate of raw chicken to a customer and then the customer calling them to bring it to their attention to remedy the situation and the male manager, nonchalantly tells me "okay next time I'll give you a plate of food" and hangs up on me. You didn't take my name, ask me what plate I had ordered, how would you be able to comp a plate "next time." I go back to the restaurant with the full un eaten plate including the raw pieces I had bit into and ask to speak to the manager. The woman at the front and cashier don't respond other than apology and proceed to give me my refund. I was really upset the manager didn't even care to come out to apology himself for the manner in which he handled my call or how he yelled at the woman cashier when she went to the back to tell him I wanted to speak to him. Customer service is everything to me, I make compliments and share businesses with friends and family when I have good experiences, but this experience was just that bad aside for feeling bad for the woman who might be related to the manager since he yelled at her so loudly and she returned almost in tears saying the manager left and she was sorry. Both the woman and cashier were pleasant and apologetic, nothing in comparison to the manager. Be cautious who you give your business to, especially if they don't show any value to their customers. Update: I was up all night with a stomachache and felt so nauseated. I think I may have gotten food poisoning. I was born in Hawaii so I grew up eating authentic Hawaiian lunch plates. I have eaten at other franchise restaurants that serve Hawaiian food many times but decided to try this place out. I really wanted to like this place because I love eating Hawaiian food to bring me back to Hawaii for a moment. First issue I have is when I called to place my order the man who took the call was not friendly or pleasant on the phone. The guy was short with me on the phone and didn't even tell me when the food would be ready like most places do. Customer service is very important to me even if it's not a gourmet restaurant. Second issue was the food was not even close to any Hawaiian food I've eaten before. I couldn't even finish my plate because it wasn't edible. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The spam musubi was over stuffed with rice. The kalua pork with cabbage had a very weird flavor to it and not the smokey flavor it should be. The lau lau was a big disappointment because the pork inside was overcooked so it was dry while the leaves wrapped around the pork was mushy. The beef was overcooked and dry. The katsu chicken was also overcooked and the panko was burnt. The teriyaki chicken, short rib, and macaroni were the only decent thing that was edible. The place was neat and in order and the gentleman at the counter was friendly. My husband had a question about the menu and it was answered quickly and politely. We ordered chicken combo #11. We actually ordered 2 of them and both had a lot of portions, chicken was tender, juicy, tasty and I never had a Hawaiian macaroni that had so much flavor until this place. I picked up a large order today and it was ready on time so props for that. The food wasn't great though. The katsu was so dry, chicken low quality. The shrimp were overcooked. They just used thin, low quality proteins with way too much batter and it's overcooked. It's cheaper than ono's, but this is quality too low that it doesn't make the savings worth it. read more

This place makes the worst Loco Moco I ever ate. I asked for extra gravy they say they need to charge me, then the girl behind the counter does not know how to charge me for extra gravy, then she asks the boss who in return says there going to just give me the gravy, then she tells me he wants me to pay for the gravy which was 1.50 ok no big deal but there is the principles behind telling the customer no charge then saying you need to charge me. The tables need to be wiped down and the girl had no customers and just played on her phone behind the counter. We will never be back I would rather eat the butt hole out of a dead rat then eat here.
