The most affordable place in Wellfleet to stay!! We stayed for one night to wrap up our Cape vacation and couldn't have picked a more perfect place. For under $100 for the night we had a comfortable bed, a room with a view, and a porch to have a nightcap on. The location is unbeatable as well, it's within walking distance of a bunch of restaurants and bars. The only downside is that parking was tight. When we called the nighttime answering service to ask about any additional parking we weren't able to reach anyone. Lucky we weren't calling to say we were locked out!! Would definitely come back for another stay and recommend to friends and family!

The Holden Inn is a great budget place to stay in Wellfleet. I doubt there are many $109 per night places to stay on the lower Cape. It is a no frills kind of place. If you are looking for a place to stay that has a tv and a hair dryer and a telephone then look somewhere else. It has expansive and well kept grounds that has many places if you need solitude and to get away from your people if only for a few minutes. It has a wonderful screen enclosed porch that overlooks Wellfleet Bay in the distance. It is close to the center of town which hosts a variety of galleries, shops, 2 bars and a food market and is about 4 blocks from Wellfleet Marina which is where Mayo Beach is located, a warm water bay beach. I stayed in room 11, which features a double bed and a single. Would comfortably accommodate 4 ppl (if u bring an extra sleeping bag). Also features a seating area for two both inside and right outside the room. My only complaint is that the shower sucks. It is very confining. I did not see any mold problems in our room. Make sure to bring your own shampoo & conditioner as there is none provided. Once again no frills. I'd say the median age of the guests is anywhere between 40-50. The Holden Inn has crappy Wi-fi. It is a very weak signal and cuts in and out.

Very disappointed in rooms and service. If mold sensitive, definitely don't stay here. We learned the hard way.

The motel has extensive, attractively landscaped grounds with ample parking, plus a large outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a barbeque grill, and direct access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The on-site breakfast restaurant called Harrigan's Café was an added bonus. Their meals were delicious. Every employee we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome. This was a great find, and we are already looking forward to going back again next year.

It was confusing pulling in finding the front office, but luckily we saw a sign for it. The woman at the front desk was very helpful in providing information on how to get around. We found our room quickly and everything looked great. The room we stayed in looked clean including the bathroom and kept up with enough room for all of us. Our room included 2 big beds and was well set up. I happen to bring my own pillow on my stay away because it's much comfier while sleeping. I use the hotel pillow when just relaxing, and it's comfy for that purpose. Also worth mentioning the A/C in the room works very well, sometimes too well as it can get cold, so adjusting the temperature is a big key to making the room comfortable. The hotel provides an indoor and outdoor pool for anyone to enjoy from 8am to 8pm. It's very fortunate to find out that this hotel provides Harrigan's Cafe for breakfast (see my review), which is a huge plus for anyone staying at the motel and lodge. Definitely put Wellfleet Motel & Lodge on the list to stay at.

Wonderful stay at a charming B&B…read more Unlike the long dissertation on by Salem R. Justifying why she gave this B&B a one star review when she never even stayed there, I actually stayed a week with my three girls. Not sure why Yelp even allows this neuroticism. Location was good and central. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Beds were Goldilocks firmness. Breakfast baskets were abundant and healthy. Owners Grant & John were very nice and knew all about the area with great recommendations. Wonderfully run local business. I look forward to staying here again.

My wife and I arrived on Saturday, July 25, at approximately 3:00 PM, which was the exact check-in time provided in the hotel's welcome email. The reception area was vacant, with no staff member available to greet us, provide check-in information, or explain the property or amenities. A note containing our name and a room key had simply been left for us. I was also surprised to discover that although our confirmation stated we had booked a room in "The Carriage House," that was not the accommodation we received. We were never informed of the change or given any explanation. Based on the photographs on the hotel's website, the room we received appeared to be of lesser quality than the accommodation we had booked and paid for. We received no information about common areas, breakfast, or other important aspects of the property. Unfortunately, the problems continued throughout our five-day stay. On our first night, the toilet in our room became clogged. I searched the property for a staff member but could not find anyone. I checked again the following morning with the same result. The first-floor bathroom was also clogged. I eventually located a plunger there and used it to unclog our toilet myself, then returned the plunger. We also never received the breakfast advertised as being included with our reservation. Each morning, my wife and I searched the property and grounds but found no breakfast or information about where it was being served. On Sunday morning, we went to Brekkies next door, where we paid full price for our meal. We were never asked whether we were CopperSwan guests, nor were we told that breakfast would be provided off-site or that any special arrangements were required. Our reservation specifically stated that an "enhanced continental breakfast" was included. Housekeeping was another major issue. Our room was not serviced, and towels and sheets were not replaced until Tuesday, July 28, despite our placing the housekeeping sign outside the door each day requesting service. When housekeeping finally entered, all of our towels were removed but none were replaced. A bathroom garbage bag was removed and left on the floor inside our room, while the bathroom garbage was not replaced. I ultimately had to find clean towels myself in the first-floor linen closet. Garbage that I placed in the hallway Tuesday afternoon remained there until we left the following day. I also attempted to contact the property manager Sunday evening by phone and email. I could not reach anyone by phone and received no response to my initial email. A response to a second email finally arrived on the day of our departure. The sender did not identify themselves or their position and stated that my original email had gone to their spam folder. Maintaining a reliable method of communication with guests should be a basic responsibility of the property. During our stay, I spoke with multiple other guests who reported similar difficulties locating or contacting staff. I stayed at the property for five days without having a single interaction with a staff member, which I found extremely concerning. My wife's family has been visiting Wellfleet for more than 40 years, and neither they nor I have experienced this level of service at a lodging establishment in the area. While any hotel can experience an isolated problem, our experience was a pattern of failures involving check-in, communication, plumbing, housekeeping, towels, garbage removal, breakfast, and the accommodation we were actually provided. What was most disappointing was the apparent lack of accountability and communication throughout our stay. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend that you do not book a stay at the CopperSwan Inn. You will likely be very disappointed.

5 STARS - Prime location especially families with young children! (July 2025)…read more Cape Cod is a family tradition for us, and Southfleet Motor Inn is one of those special places that keeps us coming back. We've been visiting the Cape since 2014 (my husband even longer) and this was our third stay at Southfleet. Over the years we've camped in tents, stayed in yurts, and rented Airbnbs, but there's something about this cozy, classic Wellfleet motel that we just love. One of our favorite things? Crossing the street to hop on the Cape Cod Rail Trail. We love biking to Marconi Beach and riding to Bob's Cone & Burgers to fuel up. It's the perfect spot for families who love the outdoors. The indoor pool and hot tub are a treat, especially after a beach day, and the outdoor pool is refreshing and clean. There's cold water/coffee/microwave/toaster/few plates and plastic ware available in lobby , a vending machine, a simple game room, and even a washer/dryer on site. We especially appreciate the clothesline contraption tucked behind the motel near the BBQ pit which is super handy for drying swimsuits and towels. Other thoughtful touches include: A tented area over picnic tables A small playground for the kids Washer (free) Dryer (coins to use) shed near playground BBQ grill available for guests Friendly, helpful staff Great location near Marconi Beach, local eats, and the Rail Trail Only tiny con: the mini-fridge is on the smaller side, so if you're packing food for a long stay, bringing a cooler helps. All in all, Southfleet Motor Inn feels like part of our Cape Cod rhythm now which is simple, clean, family-friendly, and in a perfect location. We'll definitely be back again! Kota and Brad - always helpful! See you next summer.
