I stayed in two different rooms during my visit last week. The first one was because I got my dates wrong and they were able to accommodate me with the queen size room. The next two nights I was in a queen size efficiency, and it felt much better to be in there. It had more windows and space plus basic kitchen supplies. I appreciate that this motel was across the street from the shuttle to Provincetown and that you could walk to the beach. The staff was very helpful. I didn't spend too much time at the private beach, but I did enjoy eating meals out there and looking at the view. My only criticism is that the hot tub/pool seemed like it needed cleaning. I'm embarrassed for Sally who wrote a comment here. She seems very hateful. read more

I've been coming to Truro/ptown for a few years now and this is my favorite place to stay! Ignore all these bad reviews (unless you expect to be staying at a bougie 5star hotel). This is a motor inn on the Cape.... Every place I've ever stayed down here is a bit outdated. I think the people Who write these bad reviews were just pissed about the loud neighbors and the low seats that are eye level to the wooden balcony. Just stand up and you can see the ocean view? Lol. I love It here the hot tub and pool is awesome and they redid the pool room. The AC runs pretty good. Showers are old but who really cares.. I'm here to have a good time and enjoy the beaches, not here to take a fancy shower. Beds are big and comfy. Staff is nice and keeps out of your way. The owner has always been super nice and helpful. read more

This venue was conveniently located, a brief drive away from Provincetown and much cheaper than Provincetown inns and other options for lodging. However, I knocked off one star because of lack of security at this location. When my friends and I arrived, we noticed our key was simply left on the front door of the inn within an envelope with my full name written on it. This is concerning; luckily no one took it. I saw other envelopes on the front door with the full names of other people written on them too. For security reasons, it would be better if they had someone on staff in person there to hand out the keys, or if they were to leave envelopes outside publicly, it would be better to just write the room # on them instead of the full legal names of the people who booked the rooms. The other star I took off was for the bug problem. There were lots of bugs in the room. Beds were comfy, and there was even a view of the beach from our window (see attached) read more

I wouldn't recommend this Inn, which is over priced, to any travelers. I made a reservation for one night, and our entire vacation plans had to be canceled because of Hurricane Idalia. We live in Savannah, GA, and were unable to make the trip. When I asked for an exception to the cancelation policy, they simply responded, "No, way!" This lack of understanding of consequences from a natural disaster speaks volumes of the way guests are considered and treated by this business. read more

My mom took me to this motel as a kid and I have nothing but the best memories here. As an adult I still love it. The prices are good, the views spectacular, and it's my favorite place on earth. I've noticed some cosmetic improvements over the years and I'll definitely always want to come back!! read more

This place is amazing. We came here during one of the busiest week of the year, and the experience has been amazing. Staff let us check in early and provided what we need it. The atmosphere is great, location is perfect. Big parking lot, great pool and spa, and the beach is right here. Recommend it 100%. read more

To me the Cape is all about little mom n' pop motels dotting 6A, with their seaside monikers and claims of "A/C HBO Hot Tubs"...which is why Blue Sea appealed to me so much. We weren't looking for anything fancy-- just a place to cuddle after long days on the beach and lots of drinking on our much deserved vacation. And it did serve that purpose. I'll give it that. But as Andrea A said, this place needs some help. We reserved a second floor 'dune view room'. When we arrived, instead of being directed to a room within the motel complex, which was no frills but had that Cape motel charm, we were sent across the street, to their 'new building', which seemed to be completely empty and a bit lonely. Our room turned out to be 'dune and HIGHWAY' view. it was annoying, and sometimes loud, but a bit amusing...in a 'we couldn't make this shit up' kind of way. The front desk didn't have much to say when I complained about our remote location. They did seem largely clueless. At least our room was clean and neat, if a bit dated, and we were able to catch the shuttle in front (when it didn't zoom by). We didn't use the indoor pool or the private beach, as we did most of our swimming and basking at Race Point, and once i got over the notion that we might be murdered in the night in our lonely room far away from the actual motel, our stay wasn't terrible...it just wasn't that great. Positives: 1. The housekeeping staff is very friendly! 2. It's on the beach 3. They have a built in pool, but it's covered by this cabanna type structure. Not sure how hot it gets during the day, but it was nice for a swim one night. Negatives: 1. The guy at the front desk isn't very honest about the rooms, and the views; (he convinced me to take room 127, and told me it overlooks the bay) The truth is the room overlooks the walkway, to ALL of the OTHER rooms that overlook the bay. He even went as far as to say the map online isn't accurate, and the view is quite nice - when the map is more accurate than imaginable and room 127 just doesn't have a view at all, unless you call staring into people going into their rooms a 'view'...? 2. Everything is very old, dated, and tired. 3. The place isn't well maintained, at all. 4. WIFI only works from the pool, or closer - if you have a room toward the water, forget the WIFI. 5. Don't bother trying to call the front desk, the phones don't work. 6. The AC isn't strong enough to cool off the rooms, if it's over 90, you'll be HOT, HOT, HOT! Apparently I have a knack for finding the most, ahem, interesting places to stay. This motel is actually two separate buildings: one on the beach and one across the street with a "dunes view". Well..when I booked my only option left was the dunes view which is ACROSS THE STREET from the main motel and office. The room itself was nice, spacious, clean and had a nice balcony with chairs. The price is great for staying in the area and it's about 2 miles into Ptown and right across the street from a bus stop. There's a very nice pool and hot tub on the property, but again it's across the street from where we stayed. Suggestions if you find yourself staying in this hotel: 1. Bring a hair dryer if you need it. There isn't any in the rooms in the hotel portion across the street. 2. If for some reason you'd need an iron---bring that too. There was an ironing board, but no iron........? 3. If you want coffee, make sure you get a packet and cups from the office across the street, because you don't want to be hauling your butt across the street in the morning. They don't just leave the coffee and cups in the rooms with the coffee pot. 4. Prepare to squish your car into a teeny tiny parking lot, and be good at maneuvering tight spots.... 5. Get the brochures from the office for the restaurants that deliver if you want to order in, because trying to search on your phone or wi-fi device will not work. The wifi is very spotty and we weren't able to get a strong connection the entire time there. Oh! and the phones were .50 cents for a local call. Very strange in this day and age..... All in all, it was a nice stay, and thankfully I knew some of this from previous reviewers so I was a little bit prepared, but not prepared for all the walking! My bad read more

The headline: Value inn but don't expect too much. The room was relatively spacious with two beds and a decently sized bathroom. On the grounds is also an indoor pool and a hot tub (which I think is better located outdoors and can do without the cameras directly above it). I could also have done without the many ants crawling in the room. Other improvements include hot water in the bathroom sink and better WiFi (I kept getting kicked off every few minutes). Stayed there on Friday night. Awful place, dirty, unkept, filthy,so dated from the 1970's I'd say. Needs updating badly. It was the kind of place that we would not walk around in our bare feet. Also kept bags off the floor.Did not use the shower just disgusting. Washed everything when got home as the moldy smell was over powering. To be honest I don't know how they are still operating as there were so many health code violations in our room alone. We could here our neighbors moaning and groaning, about 20 people were outside at fire pit partying till the wee hours of the morning.At about 1.30am they started fighting with each other. Nice hotel located right on the Truro/ Provincetown line. We have stayed on the beach side and also across the street with the beautiful view of the sand dunes. The rooms are spacious and always super clean. The beach is huge and you can walk right out of your room into the warm sand. There's a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi. The staff is always friendly and there's plenty of parking. Their prices are amazing for the location. Already booked for July and we cannot wait! read more

The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The price was reasonable and you're right on the beach. The appliances were kind of old but still worked fine. It has a wonderful indoor pool with a hot tub which I enjoyed. I would recommend this place to you and even if you don't like it you're not going to be in the hotel the whole time. read more

We got the room from booking.com. it was horrible! First of all, the hotel has two locations. This one is not on the beach but views Route 6. There was no desk and we were the only guests staying at the other location! it was dark and dreary and a little scary. They left the connecting door to the next room unlocked and the windows open. We felt very vulnerable and not at all comfortable. The outdoor rugs were threadbare. The towels were threadbare and scratchy as well. They only provided 2 pillows per room and they were lumpy. We had to drive to the other location for the ice machine. There were no niceties and we were not happy or comfortable. Do not go to this hotel! read more

We traveled with our 14, 15, and 18 year old children. This motel fit the bill- we love the mix of "old Cape" motel feel with updates. We weren't looking for granite and perfection. We wanted clean well maintained Cape Cod charm... This location nailed it! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the beach, our evening cocktail on the beach for sunset. Our suite was stocked with all the kitchen amenities we needed. We cooked a dinner on the outside grill and swam and hot tub'd to our hearts content! The manager Josh guided us with some great tips. This is probably one of my favorite places to stay that is near Provincetown, Massachusetts. It is right on the beach and the staff are very, very helpful. They try hard to make sure that you have the room, at a very fair price, that you paid for at the time you check in. I have stayed here many times. It is a wonderful motor Inn because though it is not a four-star motor Inn, it provides you with all the amenities and even has an indoor pool on the days that are rainy and it is clean pool. To be fair it is not the most updated motor inn but....for the price you will not be dissatisfied. I give the blue sea motor in a two thumbs up. :-) read more

Typical cheap outdated motel. I was craving a room with a view, and was directed to a room ACROSS the street overlooking highways and a large sand dune, nothing too impressive. There was no coffee in the room, but there was a coffee pot (?) No shower liner in the shower so the curtain got soaking wet during all the showers. The toilet bowl seat is very old, I'm assuming cleaning, but has definitely seen its fair share of use with all the scratch marks and discoloration. Our AC leaked all over the carpeted porch outside. If you're planning on coming here bring ALL your own toiletries. There wasn't even shampoo or conditioner for the shower and the towels are such poor quality they are rough (not fun when dealing with a sunburn). The private beach was okay, some dead birds on it which caused it to smell a bit, hopefully someone from the hotel pick this up? Overall okay for the price. If I would do it again I would request a room on the actual property not across the street so I can be near all the amenities read more

Lice. Got lice. yup. Confirmed by my doctor. Was there 2 wks ago. I never had lice in my life. Have doctors report to show correlation of 'what i thought was salt in my hair' in motel (on last day) , found out to be eggs. I am so grossed out i can barely type. I am headed to Truro next wk and handing the report to owner/mgr. and contacting in person Board of Health in Mass Boston and Truro so it is on file. Our room on beach was filthy. No vacancy anywhere else in ptown or n.truro. I asked upon booking 'do you have bedbug mattress protector covers' They said "covers'. Guess what? the covers on bed do not cover all bed (joke) , it covers top part. And our pillows were so old, lump, bumpy, no covers, So, you get ton families with kids, they get lice, they check out at noon, you come in at 3pm, nap, and catch their lice. Awful. 50 yrs old and never had lice ever. I was with 2 nurses. THey both did not use bedspreads (too gross, they put in closet), I stupidly used bedspread and used hotel pillows (they brought their own). And I have gorg long hair, that has been nitcombed to pieces....... Shame on you Blue Sea. Our poor elder Jamiacian housekeepr could not walk up the stairs to do much, she looked so old and in pain, You think (not her fault, you hired her, poor thing), she is gonna check for bedbugs, lice, clean a bedspread, etc. You must have: bedbug proof box spring/mattess /pillow protectors with thousands coming in summer. This is your responsibiliy to run a clean clean motel. Our room was filthy, no other rooms available and maid too old for this business. Shame. Booked a room for one night at the spur of the moment. The woman on the phone was very helpful and we got a room facing the dunes, which was very peaceful and beautiful. We were in the building that's across the street. It's a bare bones room, but perfectly comfortable and clean. No shampoos or any of that extra stuff in the bathroom - just soap. The room had a terrace facing the dunes with furniture on the terrace. Very nice. There is a table in the room which came in handy because we like to eat breakfast in the room to save $. The only drawback is that the Wifi was almost nonexistent. Nevertheless, it was the only room under $200, including tax (It was about $177 including tax) that I could find, and we're going to book it next year for a whole week. In a nutshell, it's an inexpensive and suitable place to stay. I'm a princess, and I thought it was great. Also, unlike others, I was able to access the internet (My data, not the hotel) on my phone with no problem at all. Also, the motel is very close to downtown, very convenient. read more

Five stars at a cape hotel might seem odd, but my rating is based on service, location, amenities and atmosphere. First time staying here, booked this based mainly on location to Provincetown and prior stays in Truro (love being so close to the water without the hassle of parking in PTown). I booked through Orbitz via Ebates to get my best cash back offer, and still got the same rate. This was a quick one night stay so I wasn't really concerned with too many amenities, etc. I had originally booked a dune view room ( I read many reviews that displayed dismay at the location of the dune view building vs the rest of the hotel.) I can understand how that might be frustrating if you want to avail of the pool beach etc., however, Shore Road is a pretty narrow geographic location, so to have a dune view and then spend 3 minutes waking to the beach is not a bad thing. I was pleased that I was moved to a beach room for the same rate. The front desk staff was pleasant and kind. I loved being able to step right out of my door and walk right to the beach. The room was very clean, updated tvs, a kitchenette, etc. Sure, there isn't subway tile in the bathroom with granite counters, but that is part of what makes makes the cape great. It's still small business, it's clean, on the beach, and people are nice. Sitting outside of my room, I spotted a gentleman who was servicing a guest in the next room over and he came to check in. Josh, the super nice unassuming individual is the owner. He was personable, kind, welcoming, and a pleasure to speak with. He gave great local dining recommendations, and was a great host.
