Such a wonderful resort! Truro has been a very special place for me going back 60 years of vacations with my whole family in late June. Three years ago my wife and I decided to come down for a week in August, the cottages we rent in June were booked so we decided to try Topmast resort and have loved everything about it. The staff truly makes this place enjoyable,so friendly,hardworking, welcoming and helpful. The view from the balcony in our room is just incredible. Although we rarely used the pool,gym sauna,hot tubs or tennis courts,it's great knowing they are available. The beach and view is beautiful, and the fact that they rake all the seaweed off the beach makes a huge difference to other rental properties. This is my first time staying at the Top Mast. Check in was a breeze and the girl was so nice. The room was great! It was so clean! Even the bath towels were playfully decorated. The spacious shower was brand new with a few shelves and a built in seat in it. There is a kitchenette that was a step above the usual. BIG fridge, countertop stove, lots of cabinetry. My room was first floor on the beach. The slider led out to the sandy patio with an area to put a hibachi/small grill and a picnic table. A couple steps and you're on the beach! Highly recommend and I'll be back! The Cafe is across the street. We went for breakfast. The staff was so welcoming. The food was delicious. The restaurant was VERY clean. read more

Went to Dennis for a wedding and decided to extend the weekend. Found this place on the fly, and was so pleasantly surprised and want to go back for more than a night. Amazing staff, right on the beach and plenty to do. Loved the slight desolation of North Truro in the off season, but it's still full of plenty of amenities. Family owned and lots of attention to detail and an obvious effort by all to make your stay a good one. Thoughtfulness is evident in many small touches and it was appreciated. Plus the proximity to Provincetown, but you could easily spend all your time here. Obvious care and upgrades to the property. I can easily see how visitors make this an annual tradition. Lots of fellow guests we chatted with were friendly and said they come every year--a testament to the establishment. Looking forward to booking a longer stay. read more

Top Mast Cafe The perfect cape-esc wooden booths and carefully followed COVID guidelines. Top Mast Cafe is a must visit if you are in the area this summer. It was a cool 60 degrees out so I ordered a hot cappuccino- it was the perfect temperature as well as indulgent. The breakfast sandwich I ordered with Bacon Egg and cheese was delicious- just the right amount of flavor. They have a good selection of cheeses and bagels. The home fries were cooked perfectly. We found this place accidentally while meandering through Cape Cod . What a gem ! The woman who checked in was Very professional and friendly . She Let us check in early because It was pouring rain that day so we couldn't go to the beach . Our room had an amazing bay view . Quintessential Cape Cod . Clean , included hair dryer and plenty of towels . The premises has a nice indoor pool area with lots of seating , a sauna , kiddie pool , bar , hot tub , bathrooms , changing areas and a deck outside complete with fire pit . There are picnic areas with tables where you can bring a small grill . Everything is clean. The beach is right there ! Beautiful long coast line . Short drive to Ptown . 3 day Escape to the Cape :) What a great time we had! My wife and I have been coming to Cape Cod since we met in 1992 and have stayed at so many different places. This time we chose a 2 bedroom cottage at Top Mast. It's hard to imagine a better value anywhere, considering this complex includes a restaurant for breakfast, an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, tennis, basketball court, and it's right on the bay with a quick drive to Provincetown. There's also a convenient $2 shuttle into town. Pro's.. Location. Right across the street from the beach Very nice little cottage. Actually larger and more modern than the pictures suggest. We were pleasantly surprised Equipped very nicely. Ask Jason about grills, charcoal and fluid before you go buying it ;) Entire property is very clean and well maintained. Good maid service as well Cons.. Pool was quite crowded with kids on the day we hoped to use it Not on the open Atlantic side with its Sandy beaches, dune cliffs and crashing waves. Just a personal preference though All in all I'd say choose a Top Mast cottage, especially if you have young ones and dont require luxury. If something higher end is more to your liking, their beach houses look pretty fantastic! We may look into something like that in the future. We'll definitely be back read more

This is our 2nd time here for a 4 night stay. We couldn't have stayed anywhere else where we get the most beautiful back drop! When we booked- the room we wanted with a kitchenette wasn't available however hours later Top Mast called us and said there was a cancellation! We were thrilled! GREAT JOB on being on top of reservations! If you want to relax, be RIGHT ON THE BEACH, this is the place for you! We are so happy with the choice to stay here! A few cons but please don't let this deter your stay; yes we're on the beach and the breeze is wonderful however the rooms don't have AC-a nice addition would be to add AC units for comfort. The room we stayed in only has double beds; a little tight. The rooms need some updating but they are extremely clean and comfortable! We will definitely stay here again! read more

I came here with three friends for a nice weekend away from the city. We were here from Saturday until Tuesday and it was wonderful! it's a good sized hotel but it's not really huge or anything. There's only two floors but it's really long and stretched along the beach. There weren't any bottom floor rooms left when we got there, so we had to get the second floor which was still fine. But if you can get the first floor, you definitely should because you open the sliding glass door and walk right onto the sand! The price was really great. I'm not sure if that was because we were there on the off season after Labor Day but it was under $100 per night and it's only about a 10 minute drive to Provincetown. The rooms are great. There were two queen beds, a small table, balcony and a pretty sizable kitchen. There was a small stove with two burners, a full sized refrigerator, microwave, a sink, dishes and silverware. There's also a pool, jacuzzi, outdoor fire pit, sauna and gym across the street. Definitely take advantage of it! My only gripe was that the bed was insanely uncomfortable. I kept waking up every hour or so and had to readjust. Every morning I woke up and my back really hurt. By the last night, I was so ready to go home and sleep in my own bed. Other than that, this is a really great hotel. read more

Resort was ok... front desk lady was very nice... ocean view was amazing... rooms do need updating and paint... THE CAFE WAS A HUGE DISAPOINTMENT!! I understand the owner of the resort just leases out the café, but at least he could show a little concern over us being DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!!!!! I'm posting this after two attempts to contact management with no luck: Four of us stopped in on Friday Oct. 7 2016 for "Fish Fry" Friday. After being seated the waitress Lisa came to our table with a very obvious bad attitude... We asked about the fish fry and she RUDELY replied "there aren't any fish frys, it's fish fryday!!" After taking our order she went to the bar kitchen area and made a comment on how much she hates straight people!! We almost got up and left but instead decided to stick it out.... She forgot one of our sides and when we politely asked for it she made a big sigh and basically stomped back to the kitchen.... Food was pretty good... The rest of the staff seemed very happy and upbeat... you may want to have a talk with Lisa about her table manners or you could loose more customers. read more

How perfect can this place get?! The resort is right on the beach. It's 7 minutes from P-Town. There is an indoor salt water pool, hot tub, very small gym, 4 or 5 rooms to rinse off in. There is a sauna and steamroom. There is a deck with a fire pit to sit by on a gorgeous nice with friends. There are tennis courts and a diner where they serve breakfast. There is a shuttle stop right outside of the office that will pick you up and drop you off at MacMillan Pier in P-Town, which is right in the center of Commercial St. The rooms are great. The two rooms I have stayed in have kitchenettes; stoves, refrigerators, sink, cabinets with glasses and dishes. One of the rooms had two beds but in separate rooms for added privacy. The second room I stayed in did not. Each room has a balcony overlooking the ocean. If you look out towards the right, you can see the monument in P-Town as well as the Light House. I highly recommend staying here. It's a great location with many activities. Also, if you stay here, I suggest sleeping with the balcony doors open so the ocean waves can hush you to sleep. read more

Every time we come to the Cape we stay at topmast resort. We usually stay in the rooms on the Oceanside. Unfortunately all the rooms were taken when we went to book the vacation. We stayed on the Gardenside and the rooms are not as nice that's my only downside to the place. Next year I will book even earlier to get a nice room right on the beach. The hot tub is nice at the end of the day to rest your weary muscles. I can't speak for the food in the restaurant since I never ate there due to so many other great restaurants on the Cape. Will be back next year again. Back again in June 2019 at the top mast. Once again everything is wonderful I'm lying on the bed listening to the waves crash on the beach from my hotel room. And when we had a miscalculation on the room fee (for the small upcharge for friends who joined us for only part of our stay), the cash was refunded with no issue whatsoever. I'll be coming back in June for my third summer in a row. The first time I went, it was a spur of the moment trip and I was calling hotels for availability. It just so happens Top Mast had one room left for the exact days I was looking for so I gave it a shot. I am so glad I did! The rooms are super clean and the staff are super friendly! Absolutely love top mast. A little pricey for sure but you can't beat the location, amenities, service, view, indoor pool and hot tub, etc etc. so you get a lot for your money. It's North Truro which avoids most of the crazy Cape traffic. We come this far up to avoid the traffic and experience the real Cape. Sunny and the beach here is awesome. Raining and it's time to hit the heated pool or hot tub. Not much of a work out room, a little 1980's. But everything else is excellent. Kitchens in the rooms are perfect too. Best Place on the Cape! It's the only place that we will go. I have brought friends and family here and they all fall in love as I did so many years ago. It you haven't stayed at Top Mast, then you haven't been to the Cape. Best views! Best Location, just minutes from P-Town. Rooms are clean and right on the WATER!!!!!! They also have some nice cottages and gorgeous beachhouses. Staff is the best! Pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball court, ping pong and the list goes on. Owners take great pride is the resort and it shows! You will not be disappointed. Restaurant also on site with a friday night fishfry. Nice deck out side with a fire pit is great for chilly nights. My boyfriend and I decided to stay here for a weekend in september after all the tourist crowds had cleared out. We opted for a "garden view" room to spend around $100 as opposed to around $200 a night. Don't be fooled, there is no "garden" to view except for some flowers on the walkway. Behind the rooms is a back parking lot, so the whole time all we heard were men loading/unloading trucks, hammering things, yelling loudly to each other, and cars driving back and forth. Not that relaxing. While we didn't expect the sound of the calm ocean as we didn't pick a beachfront room, we did not expect all of that ruckus all day and through the majority of the night. The room itself was fine, just a typical hotel room. Room service was mediocre- when we used our coffee cups and spoons, they were not replaced. When we used washcloths, they were not replaced with new ones. The hot tub was a nice feature, but the pool area closes at 10pm, so if you go out in Ptown for dinner and drinks and return, you don't have much chance at using the pool or hot tub. The cafe left much to be desired- they have very limited hours- close at noon on every day but friday when they offer dinner. The wait staff take their time getting around to you. In fact, when we went inside, another couple went in a minute before us. They were seated, the host took their drink order, brought out their drinks (while we waited to be seated) and after they got their drinks, we were seated. A bit rude if you ask me. We only had brunch there once, and it was good. The guy busing the tables saw us looking at the fish pond and gave us food to feed the fish, which was really nice. He seemed to be the person who cared the most about ensuring we enjoyed our experience. We've stayed at Horizons resort across the street in the past, and it was a much better deal. Their rooms come equipped with a kitchenette- full fridge, microwave, toaster, sink, silverware, dishes, and a stove. The rooms also have individual balconies as well- even the rooms not on the beachfront. These rooms are comparable in price to the rooms we stayed in at Top Mast, but nicer in terms of amenities for the price. Overall, we weren't that impressed and will look elsewhere next season. read more

From the moment I was cheerfully checked in to the moment I tearfully left my stay was fabulous. The water-front one room efficiency was very clean, fresh and the kitchen with full sized fridge was spotless and well stocked. The room had a brand new queen (comfy) bed & a brand new (never opened) sleeper sofa. The bath was rather large for a motel & had plenty of nice fluffy towels. We were on the second floor which had a nice sized balcony with 2 chairs & table. The view & the sunsets are to die for--just beautiful. All around the staff is a 10 from the front desk down to the maids. The pool (in & out) areas are beautiful too. The indoor pool also has a sauna, hot tub, small gym as well as more fluffy towels & a huge sun deck. We came here last minute, and the front desk gave us a discount for checking in mid-day. got a cute and quaint two bedroom suit with a kitchenette. room was not super updated but VERY clean and cozy. Beautiful private beach and views of the ocean. The pool and hot tub were very clean and up kept. They even had a small kiddy pool. Outside there was so many cute amenities like ping pong table, bean bags, nice tennis court and basketball hoops with all equipment provided. Everything about the Top Mast is wonderful and it gets better every time I return. They have built new large houses and little cottages, and their rates are always more than reasonable every year. The breakfasts in their cafe are always so delicious. Friendly and accommodating staff, indoor pool and hot tub complete with a bar. Tennis courts. Their popularity has also increased over the years because weekends where there were typically not a ton of people in years past have been packed. They have rooms with kitchens with direct access to the beach from the patio and are kept very clean. If you take the Plymouth & Brockton bus from Hyannis and Boston, they will drop you off at the resort if you request it. There is not much to dislike about this place, as it is family owned and top quality. A jewel on cape cod. Thank you Top Mast for another great vacation!
